Josh Motto quoted us a price which we felt like was very fair. He performed the work in a timely manner through some pretty tough weather conditions. We are very happy with the work done by Josh and his crew and will use Motto & Sons for future work should we need some done.

Did a great job. Were on time, cleaned up after their work, very polite. Finished in timely manor. Roof looks great. Plan to use them for other jobs as well.

They did the work in the time predicted and were very organized in their teamwork. The crew were polite ,dependable and well supervised . They were very careful in their frequent cleanup not to leave any nails or scrap materials behind. End result was neat and as specified. We had heavy rain for several days after the job and there were no problems. They followed up a week or two later to make sure I was satisfied and that there were no problems. They inspected the roof and smoothed one of the roof edges. I am totally satisfied with their work and would recommend them not only for the quality of the work, but their dependability and work ethic.

It went very well. They came when they said they were coming and finished the job in a timely fashion. Included some extra repairs that were not in the original estimate, and did not charge for that. Also, some areas of my yard and garage were left cleaner (!) then they had been when they arrived. No complaints. Highly recommend

Josh was busy; was tough to get him out, especially between the raindrops, but we had a short deadline and Josh met it with no problems. We asked him to do a minor repair and then a review of our roof, specifically looking at the skylights and a raised shingle near the chimney. His minimum charge is $200, which is lower than what we found with others and of which of course, we knew beforehand. Josh and his helper were polite, conscientious and most of all helpful. Josh is responsive in a timely manner via email and phone.

Josh handled the job personally, took many photos of the process (I believe he uses these on his website as well as delivers them to clients) and had the job done in no time. It looks fantastic and, on Josh's word, we feel confident that we'll not have another issue with the chimney.

Josh came out and gave me a detailed estimate, better than the other contractors that I got estimates from. Excellent craftsmanship, excellent to work with and Josh was always willing to answer questions and work with me to get the best possible end product. The crew worked through some nasty weather to complete the job, debris was picked up and removed each day and my yard was kept neat. I will definitely hire Motto and Sons again for future work.

Project went very well overall. It started on August 1st and was completed on September 24. It started with a meeting with Josh Motto to discuss our proposed layout to get ideas and recommendations from him. He made some layout recommendations that were very appealing such as creating an angled wall to accommodate a storage area and space that was not initially made for a bathroom. They created an open-concept walkway with pillars to separate it from the living area which is nicely lit by sconces. Installation started with two egress windows and window wells. The window wells were dug manually to avoid damage to the lawn and landscaping - this was Motto's recommendation. This was the messy part but Motto worked with us to keep the tracking of clay at a minimum. Motto demonstrated a high level of expertise with the drainage system required for these egress windows. He also installed top-of-the-line window wells for long-term durability. After the egress windows were installed, then they completed the initial roughing in which was very accurate (square) and sturdy (sound). Then the dry walling took place which was also messy but again Motto worked with us to sweep up every day to keep the dust down. Plastic walls were also constructed by Motto to isolate non-construction areas.Installation of the dropped ceiling, painting and plastering followed all coordinated by Motto. The dropped ceiling was very level and accurate. Motto used a laser instrument to insure a level ceiling. Motto did a good job coordinating electrical, plumbing and plastering and working with our City Inspector to get phases of the project approved. We feel that Motto gave us a high level of quality service and value. Motto's team was very easy to work with and very responsive to any changes needed and special requests by us. They communicated with us on a daily basis to update us on their progress and plans for the next day's work. The whole project was completed on time and within the original estimate. We are already enjoying our beautiful new lower level and have received many compliments on the design and workmanship. It looks great, and we now have an energy efficient window. When it comes to construction, we've learned that Josh knows how to solve any problem.

Wonderfully! Josh lives just down the road from us. We have had him do three jobs for us already. We've come to have so much confidence in him. He is knowledgeable, fair, and honest. We feel about Josh as we do a friend. We can trust him.

Work was scheduled and completed within the week that I called. Looks great and came in at quoted price. These guys are really good. Will hire them again if the need arises.

Called Motto & Sons for an estimate to update exterior of my home. Owner Josh motto personally stopped by for an inspection and had a detailed estimate returned two days later. I felt comfortable with estimate and options presented. We came to an agreement on services and a timeline and I decided to move forward. I had our roof, siding, & gutters replaced. The project took one business week from start to finish. The owner (Josh Motto) personally oversaw all aspects of the project and remained on site thru the completion of project. I am very happy with workmanship, warranty, & professionalism of this company. I would recommend Motto & sons to anyone needing work done on their home. Motto and Sons was recommended to me by my insurance company to help me with my hail damage claim. The owner came out and and measured everything up. He emailed me the estimate that night. Insurance company agreed to it. They came two weeks later and did the work. It took one week to complete the job. They were very clean and respectful to my peoperty. I would highly recommend them. The workers were all local people. They will also be doing the repairs on my mothers home.

I needed someone to do a repair of my siding since there are sections dangling from the house. Last Friday Josh said he could not get anyone to my home until Monday, which was fine. I scheduled the appointment for today. No one showed up. I did not even get a call to let me know they were running late. Once they were 1 hour late, I called, got an answering machine and left a message asking for a return call to let me know how late they were running. No one called back. I called again a few hours later (end of the day) and reached someone this time (said he was Josh's brother). He told me that Josh would be arriving within the next 5-10 minutes and would call me as soon as he got in. It is now 4 hours later and no one even had the coutesy to call me back. Needless to say, I will not be using this company. The lack of professionalism (and courtesy) is rather striking. The company responded to my review with the following statement: Response from Motto and Sons Construction on Jul 24, 2012:I explained to this customer that we were extremely busy with the recent hail storm that hit the Oshkosh-Larsen area and was unable to come out right away. At this time I told him to call another company if he needed someone right away. He left me a number from Skype and I did call it several times with no answer. He wanted me to put him in front of other customers. We handel customers in the order we receive them. I am sorry that he was unhappy with our company. We are a small family business that prides ourselves on customer service. Yes, when I first called, the company told me that they were unable to come right away and that I would need to get another company if I needed someone right away. However, what he is leaving out in his response is that I told him that I am fine waiting. We then made an appointment for the following Monday at 2:00 pm. He never told me he might not show or might not call me if he can't keep the appointment. He simply did not show and did not call me to let me know he would not be coming in spite of my making repeated calls that day to find out what was going on. As to his statement that he called me several times and there was no answer, this simply is untrue. The only number he has for me is my cell phone number and my caller ID history shows that he did not call to let me know he would not be coming. Instead, he called the day after, after my negative review had been posted to Angie's List. I still have the voicemail; he apologized for not showing up saying he got too busy due to having so much work. What he did not explain in his voicemail, however, is why he never even called me on the day of the appointment to tell me he would not be showing up. I was contemplating calling the company today (everyone makes mistakes) to schedule another appointment. After all, he did call me the next day to apologize for not showing up; he also offered to come the following day. However, after seeing his response on Angie's List, I could not possibly trust such a company. One last thing--in his reply, he tried to make me look like an unreasonable customer, claiming, "he wanted me to put him in front of other customers." This simply is not true. The subject never came up. I am a doctor and a university professor. I don't "cheat" or "cut lines." Ironically, if the company simply had owned up to the truth on Angie's List by saying something like, "sorry, we made a mistake" I would have rescheduled them. I trust companies who own up to their mistakes. I do not trust companies that try to blame the customer when the company very clearly was at fault.

It went very smoothly. Josh discussed things about the roof with us and did extra things like removing our old chimney and the attic fan. They have a good crew that takes pride in their work and that means a lot. They also give a great 10 yr. warranty. We know that they will stand by their work since they are a local company.

I am very pleased with the top quality of work from Motto & Sons Construction and give them all an A+ for their attention to detail in replacing my roof and providing me with friendly, courteous, and professional service. Josh Motto addressed all my concerns, followed up promptly, and completed the entire roofing project in a timely manner. It was obvious to see and hear the pride that the company maintained in their workmanship throughout the entire roofing process, from helping with the selection of shingles to the timely and conscientious organization of the entire project. At the end of each work day, the area was cleaned of any debris. Josh did an excellent job in coordinating the work and keeping me informed of the progress. Josh met with us after our home had been damaged by a hail and wind storm. He was able to point out damage that I had not even been aware of. He met with the insurance company and negotiated a fair settlement on our behalf. Since they were going to be doing extensive work to include siding and roofing, I decided to also have them replace all my windows and front storm door. He sat down with us and took us through samples from his suppliers and made recommendations that ended up to be excellent choices in terms of price, quality, and looks. The job was completed on time and in budget for what was quoted. Very professional team that was very informative throughout the project. I would highly recommend Motto & Sons for any home projects you may have.

Josh, his brother, and another man completed the job in one week with impressive results. Our house looks brand new. They do quality work and tend to details. By noon on Friday, they were finished and there was no evidence that they had been here except for the job they had done on our house. We especially like the idea that Josh is not just an owner who lines up the jobs, but he actually does the work. We told him approximately the color we wanted for the siding and the cedar shake. He provided samples from a company that he had dealt with before. He knew them to make a quality product. In addition to being a quality product, it is made in America which is important to us. Being senior citizens, he gave a senior discount. Had we been veterans, he would have given a veteran discount. Last summer while having a roof replaced by another contractor, we noticed his truck and trailer going past our house and were impressed with the quality of his equipment. We later learned that he lives just down the road from us. We now wish that we had known of Josh before we had our roof done.
