Josh was professional and customer oriented. He removed two layers of roof. I could not even tell they removed the old shingles. The area was left spotless. Great job! Roof looks beautiful.

Great! Had to replace the entire roof. Josh and his crew were prompt, courteous and made sure everything was cleaned up when they were done. Josh was on the roof when the job was done to make sure everything was done properly.

We called four other roofing contractors, one gave us a quote that was ridiculously high,one called back two weeks later and the other two never called back. Josh was over the next day and had a quote to us the following day. He was quick to respond to messages and answered all of our questions. The job was delayed two days due to high winds. Josh and the guys worked non stop and made sure everything was cleaned up before they left. They were prompt, courteous, and respectful of ours and our neighbors property.

It went terrific. Josh came and checked the job out on a Sunday. They would have come sooner but I was out of town. They were going to start on the following Wednesday, but we had a snowstorm. They came on Thursday and were finished by Friday afternoon. Josh Motto explained the problem to me as it had not been explained before and I realized he was the guy for job. He showed me before and after pictures and it looks great. We just had a terrific rain storm a couple of nights ago and.......not a drop! The job involved ripping up part of the flat roof and part of the shingled roof and the chimney and making sure the new flat roof went up under the new shingled roof, It was a labor intense job. I felt they did the it well.

I got estimates from three roofing and siding companies in the spring of 2015 and knew about five minutes after owner Josh Motto arrived (on time) that I would ask him to take on this project. As we walked around the house and talked about the plans I had a sense of his integrity and trustworthiness. My family circumstances deferred the project until this year, when I had the pleasure of working with Josh and his salesperson Ben Loth on what turned out to be a bigger and more challenging job than anticipated. As it happened, I was away when much of the work was done but Ben and Josh kept in touch by text and email, and I never worried for a moment about the work they were doing outside and inside my home. They kept the work site safe, neat and tidy and were always on time. Josh Motto is the owner and he was on-site for the duration of all phases of the project to ensure proper installation. I felt completely confident about his and Ben's knowledge, experience, and advice throughout the project and have already told them that I'll have Motto & Sons work on the next phase of my home renovation. I arrived home Friday evening after the windows had been installed and saw that someone had raked the leaves in my front yard. After checking with my neighbors on either side, I emailed Josh to find out if he had any clue who had done the good deed. I wasn't surprised to learn that Ben had raked the yard before they left that day. Josh and Ben (his nephew) are just good people and I feel lucky to know them and to be able to recommend their company.

As I noted, I did not have any work done.

Took a little longer than expected, but work was done right.

Josh gave us a detailed estimate of the work that needed to be done. When the day came, his crew was amazing. They all knew what their jobs were and really seemed to enjoy their work. I was impressed that they even took the time to use a magnet to pick up all the loose nails that fell off the roof during the tear off.

Never heard back from them. Followed up. Got nothing.

Josh and Ben were awesome met with me more than once explaining things and making suggestions that worked for my budget. Josh's crew was amazing everyone worked together so efficiently. Roof and porch were done in 2 days. Josh came another day and did all the facia work and gutter guys the day after that. They were patient and friendly with the neighbors and answered questions. We will be calling them for renovations and projects for our new property when we move.

This job went so well! Josh is a detail-oriented problem solver with a wealth of experience. That really mattered for our job as we had a mystery leak AND mystery puddling on the roof. The whole team was conscientious and on task as they removed layers, kept us informed, and explained the process to correct the problems. Josh had also told us to expect a change in temperature since the old roof was black and this is white. We not only notice a difference in how fast the room heats up, but also in the air-conditioner's ability to keep up; this is a quality of life improvement. Going forward, we're thrilled to have a room put on with a newer method that is specifically designed to stay sealed and resist leaks, so knowing that as well as having the confidence instilled by the careful work of Josh's team has us very happy we chose Motto & Sons.

Overall it went very well. I called Motto & Sons and Josh was able to meet me right away to get an estimate. Josh was able to schedule the work to be completed the next day. I will be having Motto & Sons quote future jobs that we have planned

Motto and sons tore off the old shingles and replaced with new dimensional shingles. They did a great job, there was no damage to the house or plants as they are very careful how they go about their business. When finished you could not see any sign that a dozen workmen just spent a day ripping off your roof and replacing it. Before the process started Josh was prompt and responsive to questions. Josh also offered suggestions and explained his quote very well. Would use them again in the future. My neighbor was so impressed they also used motto for a new roof on their house a couple weeks later.

From the estimate to job completion - a very positive experience. Honesty, vision, and workmanship - that's what we got from Josh Motto & his Team. Plan on working with them again for a roof & deck.

I I detected a leak during rain storms, and needed someone to find the cause. I called Motto based on these reviews. Josh Motto was very responsive and came the day I called. He climbed the roof and found one of our box vents had a crack. He pointed out we might have hail damage, and offered to come back when the adjuster came to inspect the roof. As promised, he came and was with the insurance adjuster on the roof helping with the assessment. Although there was no damage, he game me an estimate to replace the plastic box vents with metal ones. I needed the insulation inspected once the leaking vent was removed, and his guy checked things out and said things were good. They were very prompt and professional, and completed the work as promised and with good quality. Josh and his crew were very honest and professional. He inspected the roof, and could have easily told me it needed to be replaced, as I did not know when the roof was installed originally, but told me it was still in fine shape and still had life left. That alone showed he was honest and focused on the customer. I will be calling Motto when I am ready to replace my roof.

They were on time and completed the job quickly and without any inconvenience to my family. Even getting the crew there on Saturday to get the job done without having to wait over the weekend for completion. Josh was on site to manage every day just as promised. His whole crew was professional and polite. Respecting our home and family. We never heard bad language, saw smoking or questionable behavior or attitude that I've experienced with other outdoor project crews. The crew wore company shirts and left the worksite spotless. No errant roofing nails or stray cut roof pieces in the yard or driveway. We were very impressed.

The first day Josh came to plaster the whole 3 bay garage. He worked from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. and did a great job. I am sure he was pretty tired when he got through. But must repeat again, "A Great Job". Next day the painters came and painted the garage with a very nice light tan color. Then a day later Josh Motto came and framed the windows and door doing another fantastic job. They all were very professional, neat and cleaned up after they were through. I would hire them again any time. I am glad to be an Angie's list member. I always get the best contractors and they all do a job well done. I just moved to Wisconsin and had other sales people, a lawyer, real estate agent, window dressing lady, alarm installer, appliance delivery people etc. and all were fantastic. In N.J. I had contractors steal from me. If you want a good contractor call Motto & Sons.

"We hereby propose to furnish the materials and perform the labor necessary for the completion of roof project. Scope of work goes as follows: 1. Remove all shingles, vents, tarpaper, pipe boots, valley tin and dispose. 2. Roof deck is swept and inspected and loose decking is re-nailed. All nails or staples are pulled out. ½? osb is nailed to existing roof decking. 3. Water and ice shield is installed along eves, in valley and where roof meets wall. 15lb felt on rest of roof deck. 4. Vent holes are plugged and ridge venting is installed. 5. New valley tin and pipe boots are installed. 6. 25yr. 3 tab shingles will be nailed on 5 nails per shingle. 7. Contractor warranty's workmanship for 5yrs. 8. Owner Josh Motto will be on-site for duration of construction to ensure proper installation.9. Anything not written in this contract is not included and would be an extra charge." "Can I get your insurance paperwork from you and if my cost is more than what the insurance company quoted, I can work directly with them to get it figured out. It is the easiest way. Often insurance companies low ball the sq. on a roof. Your roof is going to be 6sq. It measures 23x12x2=552x1.1=607.5 1.1 is waste on roof" He doesn't need to see what my insurance company is paying to have this done. Is it to charge me more for the work to be done? First of all he had the wrong dimensions for my roof then when I sent him and email stating: 'Before we go that route I have two more estimates coming in.', he replied: 'Well I'm not interested in getting into a bid war. Count me out .' I would be a fool to hire anyone without comparing prices. Does he think because I'm female that I'm an idiot when it comes to having my roof redone!! I did hire another roofer that was referred to me from my insurance adjuster and he did a wonderful job at a great price.

Motto and Son's came in with a great price for our project. We are so pleased with how the project turned out. They always seemed to know exactly what we wanted and their craftsmanship is wonderful. They quoted us a price and stuck to it, no surprises at the end, unlike many other contractors we have had do work for us. Josh and Zack were so great to work with, we would not hesitate to have them do any other work we need to have done.

We contacted Motto & Sons last spring when we noticed a few areas of water damage to our home. They came and did some work for us and were very reasonable and professional. Some of the recommendations that they gave us are being done now. We recently just had our bonus area above the garage spray foamed and are going to have more insulation blown into our main attic. They really gave us a ton of options and the pros and cons which each. We have a bit more work to be done with them and are looking forward to a warmer home this winter!

Being victimized for over a year by an unethical insurance company and contractor after a tornado hit our home was a very dark and depressing experience. I started losing hope of getting our home repaired, and felt contractors (we met with many) were out to take advantage of homeowners with storm damage. Motto and Sons has been the silver lining in a very tough situation, and they made us "whole" again. We found Motto and Sons on Angie's List after I decided I would try one more time to find an honest contractor. Josh Motto met with myself and my insurance adjuster, and fought for us to receive a fair settlement. Our insurance company tried giving us $800 initially, and after the meeting with Josh, they offered 20x more. While this may not be typical, I was impressed by his professionalism and understanding of the insurance "system". Motto and Sons does not "contract out" seasonal workers, they have employees who are very good at what they do. After seeing my neighbors have their roofs and siding replaced in a single day, I was expecting a day or two of work. I'm so glad it took longer, because our house looks better than any other on the block/neighborhood. In no way do I feel like any corners were cut on our home to save time or money. Josh had a "vision" for our back balcony that was put together with patches of flashing, and looked "chopped up". He took the extra time and worked on that area meticulously, which provided a much more astetically pleasing "flow". When we chose our materials, Josh suggested a higher quality siding and railing for our balcony. We pondered saving money, and almost went with a wood rail and the cheaper siding. I'm very happy with the quality of materials Motto and Sons used. The extra expense for the higher quality materials (siding, trex deck railing) was well worth it. The crew cleaned their area at the end of the day and were very professional. I was suprised by a few of the comments about Motto and Sons not getting back to them in a timely manner, which I did not experience. Some people are impossible to please, so don't let those comments deter you from hiring this company. When hiring a contractor for home repairs, try to be flexible. Josh cannot answer every call that is coming in and get back to every call immediately because he is very busy on site, working. Also, there must be many variables for this type of company; the weather, a job being more complex than anticipated... Just try calling again and be patient. Thank you so much Motto and Sons!
