Description of Work: Hank did an outstanding job on a variety of carpenter jobs in my home. He was prompt, had a high level of expertise and professionalism related to the work. He fixed three storm doors that I had previously had repaired and were never correct and they work and look wonderful now. Installed cabinet and mirrors in the bathroom and repaired an older wooden swingset. The charges for his work were comparable and fair. Besides complete satisfaction with his work - Hank was an absolute delight to have in my home. He is kind, personable and goes out of his way to make the experience positive!

Description of Work: Hank built stairs for our entry from the garage to the house. He was meticulous in building, used quality materials, and finished with extra touches like sanding and rounding the railing edges so that users would not get slivers. Price was reasonable and quality was excellent.

Description of Work: Our stairs from the house to the garage were too steep. Hank came and built new stairs for us. When he gave an estimate he thought it might take 2 weeks to get to the job. But he was able to schedule us a few days later and built new stairs for us. It was perfect!

+ -1 moreOUR PREVIOUS ONE HAD A GREAT DEAL OF DRY ROT. HANK CAME IMMEDIATELY, MEASURED FOR A NEW ONE, AND GAVE US AN ESTIMATE. THE WORK TOOK LONGER THAN EXPECTED DUE TO THE NEED TO GET A CUSTOMIZED WINDOW AND I HAD TO KEEP CALLING HANK FOR AN UPDATE. HOWEVER, WE FINALLY GOT IT, IT FIT GREAT.

STERN DO THE WORK ANYWAY, BECAUSE HE WAS RANKED #1 ON ANGIE'S LIST. HE DID THE WORK WITHIN ONE WEEK OF RECEIVING OUR DEPOSIT. THE REPAIRS WERE DONE ADEQUATELY, AND TOOK ABOUT 4 HOURS. BASED UPON THE NATURE OF THE WORK, (REPLACING TWO PIECES OF EXTERIOR TRIM.) AND IN LIGHT OF HOW LONG IT TOOK TO COMPLETE THE JOB, (4 HOURS) WE FELT THAT THE CHARGE ($440.00) WAS EXCESSIVE.
Description of Work: MR. STERN REPLACED ONE PIECE OF OUTSIDE TRIM AND ONE OUTSIDE WINDOW SILL.

HOWEVER, THE MILLWORK AND INSTALLATION WAS FINISHED ON THE SPOT IN ONE DAY. HE IS A VERY FINE CRAFTSMAN. I HAVE FINISHED THE SANDING, WOOD CONDITIONING, STAINING AND VARNISHING WORK ON THE DOOR. LOOKS VERY NICE, TOO!
Description of Work: MR STEARN REPLACED THE WOOD BACK DOOR OF MY HOME. I SELECTED THE PRE-HUNG DOOR. WHEN IT ARRIVED AT A RETAIL STORE, HE PICKED IT UP AND DELIVERED IT. HE COMPLETED THE INSTALLATION IN ONE DAY, WHICH REQUIRED OVERTIME PAYMENT. HE EXPERTLY RE-SIZED THE DOOR TO FIT THE OPENING IN THE BRICKWORK.
