Marcus Cusatis and his crew tore out an old asphalt driveway, a sidewalk and side drive and replaced with new concrete. I scheduled in about April for a June/July install. When I called Marcus and told him what DATE in June I hoped to have him install, he was able to accommodate the request. They tore out on day one, and poured/finished on day two. The entry into the garage used to have a 2-3 inch lip where the old asphalt driveway had settled. Now, the new driveway is tied into the slab and the transition from drive to garage is smooth and level. The finish is beautiful and enhances the curb appeal of my home. It's more than just a plain concrete slab, having a nice broom finish and 6-inch dark brown border. From quote to finish, Improv's work is professional. I would gladly do business with Marcus and his crew in the future.

They managed to arrive a month sooner than scheduled. Came at 7am and were done by noon. Weather delayed the application of the sealant by 2 days. They suggested that where the pathway met the back door of the garage should be increased in width to match the door to look right. I had to agree. No extra charge. The stamped concrete is a red/charcoal brick pattern. Looks great! I never thought concrete could look so much not like concrete. Patio has a slight slope away from the house for water drainage. Rebar was used. Built to last.

Upon examining the work later, I discovered the stoop and L-shaped sidewalk were great. However, the apron for the 10'x16' shed was only about 16" vs the planned 24" because they ran out of concrete (don't know if the incorrect amount was ordered or if the concrete company shorted them). That error I can live with. But in measuring the slab itself - it was one inch shorter on one side than the other on the end where the overhead door is planned which means the wall construction will have to be adjusted at a slight angle, or I'll have to shorten the longer side slightly. I'm no expert on construction, but I'll need to make some slight adjustment at that end to make all sides fit correctly. I'm not sure I'd use Improv again - ask me after the shed is done to see if this misalignment affected the building. My only reasoning for the lower scores was the shorted concrete and misaligned slab.

Marcus was fabulous to work with! He came to my home to assess the project around my schedule and within a couple days of my inquiry. He was very professional, friendly and was able to show me pictures of his work and give me a suggestion to cement a side section for a problem spot under my downspout. I opted for the picture frame appearance of my cement sections for my front walkway. His crew completed the walkway in one day. I came home to a beautiful front walk and the problem spot blended nicely. He was also very good with my dog.

Their work involved more than we ended up doing and was a more thorough job. The quote was a little more expensive than what we wanted to spend.

The work started on the time and finished very efficiently. The job was professionally handled from start to finish. They went the extra mile to do the job well and make sure that we were happy with it.

Company showed up on time and performed all work and MORE, that was in the proposal. They were fast and very professional. I am elated with the finished product. Great job Marcus.

I looked up several concrete contractors on Angies list. Improv was one of them. I called and got an appointment within a few days. I met with Marcus and we discussed the driveway in detail. He was very positive and presented his capabilities well. In speaking with him I came to the understanding that his firm only did eight inch decorative borders on driveways. I thought that I had mentioned that we wanted 18 inch borders but I may not have. We decided to go with another contractor who spelled out that they can do any size border.

This was at my rental property and I wanted to spend a reasonable amount of money. The bid was one of the best in that it included all the items needed to be complete, sidewalk, patio, and deck enclosure at a good price. I knew what I wanted and how it should be priced. He priced within in the correct range for the work. We adjusted for tear out which I agreed we do to save some and I believe I got more then my money's worth in craftmenship. His work was done quickly and looks great. I am extremely happy with the concrete work. It was a great investment. I recommend going straight to Improv if you don't want to waste alot of time getting bids and just want the work done right and at a reasonable price. I plan to use them again in spring for repair at our home.

They did an excellent job and were decent to work with. They were very professional and did everything they said they were going to do. They told us the work would be done in a day and it was even though I added a project. Also on top of that they ran into a huge nest of hornets. Rather than walking away, they called me and I took care of the problem. Once that was out of the way they did the work promptly and fought off the rest of the hornets.

I called a highly-ranked Angie's List concrete specialist whose area of activity didn't quite reach to my house and he recommended Mr. Cusatis/Improv Contractors. I set up an appointment and met with Mr. Cusatis on relatively short notice and he submitted an estimate that was extremely competitive with others I had obtained. He was able to schedule my work relatively soon thereafter, showed up on a Saturday and Sunday to set the stage for pouring on Monday and finishing asphalt early Tuesday morning. Over the weekend and on Monday, he also worked on regrading and burying the drain tile, water runoff pipes, and electrical PVC. For this large project, the time on site was 3 days with very little time the early morning of the 4th. He takes obvious pride in his and his team's workmanship and is especially enthusiastic and talented with design. Based on information about my preferences for modern design to correspond with the modern house, he developed striking, simple, clean designs that are better than I had imagined. He also solved several severe drainage problems that were rather complicated. I contributed in a support role by getting some materials at home centers so he didn't need to interrupt the work pace. We will be working together in the near future with more landscaping, with a couple of retaining walls, stone outcroppings, and a water feature. He is an energetic and creative pro whom I highly recommend.
