We had agreed that he would be at the house by 7:45 since that was the time I had to leave for work, the first day he call that he overslept and would be late. Not a big deal but now there is no one to let him into the house. We were able to work through that issue and he was able to start on time. The process was pretty smooth while getting everything painted, the job did not finish on time but a day later, it was not until after Chris and his team left that we noticed all of the issues. We had the cabinet doors off so that they could be painted to look very professional, we were replacing all of the hardware on the cabinets at the same time. While putting the doors back on we noticed them chipping very easily something that we knew might happened however what we did not notice was all of the paint located on the back of the doors they were smudged with finger prints as well as several drip marks. Nothing that you would expect from a professional painter. In our kitchen we had new windows installed this year also, we have had to scrape paint off of the windows, again not a big deal but not what you would expect. It seemed that it was very hard for them to get a sharp line or not get paint on objects that were not supposed to be painted. I have paint on most of the can lights in my kitchen that will all have to be cleaned. The twins room and dining room had a few issues but nothing more than a bit of touch up paint. The main problems came in play with their bathroom, we tried to remove the wallpaper a few years ago and like with most homeowners it was not an easy process so the bathroom actually needed a lot of work, which again is why we chose to hire a professional who had been at our house 3 times prior to starting the job. Once the bathroom was finished and again they left we noticed we had paint drips down the front of the wood bathroom door, if you walk into the bathroom you notice that they just painted over the issues rather than sanding them down and fixing them like you would expect from a professional we have very patchy walls, we have places that they just painted over where it would not of taken much time to fix correctly, we have places around the cabinet in the bathroom that they did not even paint at all totally missed. Our paint is also streaking so we have almost like drip marks all the way down the walls. Again the bathroom looks like someone did not do any prep work before painting the bathroom. I called Chris and asked him to come back in and take a look. He agreed that we had issues and offered to fix them. GREAT RIGHT! Well as it turns out to have my bathroom finished the way I would have expected it to turn out, ended up costing additional money to have the walls prepped and painted. Now I know that things change during the job, however I would think after being in the house and looking at the job three different times, also not once was it noted while they were in the house that we needed to have additional work done to have the bathroom ready. Given our time from and the fact that we are prepping the house for sale. We now need to have the bathroom comptly redone, I chose not to pay Chris again but part ways as I feel like I paid $3200.00 and did not get the professional job that I was expecting. I let Chris know how disappointed I was in this process. I have a LOT of work to do to get my house ready for sale on Monday. Work that I paid once to have done.
Description of Work: We had Chris out to give us a quote mid March. At this time we also got quotes from three other companies, Chris was not the least expensive but he had a good personality and we felt good about having him in our home. We let him know that it was very important that everything be finished because the house was going on the market on 5/9 and we would of completed the work ourself but we were running out of time and wanted the look to be professional. We had him paint the kitchen, including trim and cabinets, the dining room, hallway, kid bathroom and 2 kids bedrooms. We asked for the trim and walls to be painted. Great right! No homeowner wants to do all of this work while getting the house on the market. We met three times at the house before the job started we paid 1/3 at the time of the scheduling 1/3 right before the job stated and the final 1/3 when it was finished.

Overall great job. Showed up on time or called if there was a delay. Had to work around many recessed light fixtures, hangers for pipes, etc. Not an easy job, but they have some talented hangers and mud slingers. I would hire them again.

Overall, the experience was just excellent. Chris Halverson, the owner of the company, came out and provided us with estimates, explained what would be done, how long it would take, and how much it would cost. From start to finish, everything was done with perfection. Alex & Shane, the other employees who painted with Chris, were very contentious as well. These people are far above any other painting companies that I've dealt with. I can see why this company is a Super Service Award winner with Angie's List. I'm so happy with their services and both my wife and I would highly recommend this company to others.

Chris was prompt in returning calls and very felxible with our hectic schedules. Called throughout day with updates of work and asked before proceeding with changes that would cost more money. He completed work at our home while we were working. Was respectful to lock the door after leaving and kept area very clean. Did good work, was able to match the texture of the ceiling fairly well ( as well as can be expected). We will use again for future drywall needs.

Overall good job. Easy to work with. Most importantly returns your call within 24 hours.
Description of Work: I've hired Mud Slingers few months back to do some drywall work on my property. After a pipe leak and some other damage it wasn't a small job. Chris was very easy to work and communicate with. He was able to work directly with my tenant and didn't require much of my involvement which helped me a lot since I travel most of the week.

This was a very big job. Much of the plaster walls & ceiling were damaged, and the room is very large. Also, the crown molding and cornice needed to be scraped, sanded, and painted. Chris provided us with a fair estimate, and he was able to start shortly after we accepted the bid. Chris & his team are professional, and have an eye for detail. Chris went above and beyond to ensure that our expectations were not only met, but exceeded. Because the house is old & quirky, there were a few bumps along the way, but Chris kept us up to date on all issues and worked with us to make sure that the job was completed to our satisfaction. Chris & his team did an amazing job, and they were very mindful of containing the dust to the one room, and cleaned up thoroughly after the job was completed. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Mudslingers to friends & family.

We are VERY happy with Chris & Mud Slingers. His initial estimate was accurate; we ended up changing some requested services as the project progressed (e.g., after he found mildew under the old floorboards). This slightly changed schedules and budget, but all acceptably. The project lasted quite a while as we had to stage things significantly to move things around from one part of the basement to the other. He always remained flexible and helpful. He's extremely thorough, and things were not done to his satisfaction until they were really perfect. He came back in December to touch-up spots that were scuffed when we moved heavy items back into position. He was always pleasant and professional, and we were always comfortable having him in our home. I know he cares about his reputation, and I am pleased to provide this evaluation. We initially found him on Angie's list and he was highly rated then. We will be using him for another indoor project this winter.
Description of Work: We hired them in the aftermath of the July basement flooding issue that hit Milwaukee in July (esp. Shorewood & Whitefish Bay), though we didn't start until early Fall. 1. Removal of basement raised wood platform floor and wood partitions that had been soaked and developed mildew; 2. complete drylock re-painting of walls and floor following thorough surface prep and filling holes, etc. (He really knows what he's doing). 3. Rebuilding of one partition wall more professionally built than the one he removed. 4. Set up and placement of good shelving units, which he found for us at Home Depot and transported home for us in his truck. He removed and disposed of all the discarded partition debris.

Chris showed up when he said he would with his 2 employees. He did most of the work while I was at my job. I was able to see what had been done each day. He asked me to let him know if I wanted anything done differently. He cleaned up everything & told me that if I had noticed anything wrong. I should call him & he would be glad to take care of it. Im happy the way it all turned out. I would use him again

GREAT! Chris is very friendly and professional (and expects the same of his crew). He communicated with us very well, keeping us informed about the progress of the job. When he came in to paint on a Sunday, he brought hot ham and rolls for all of us! We were very pleased with the results and highly recommend Mud Slingers.
Description of Work: Chris & Co. painted our bungalow's sun room, living room, dining room, inner hallway, office/bedroom, kitchen & back hall. Because the office ceiling was so badly cracked, they ended up covering it with 1/4" drywall, creating a beautiful, flawless surface. There was some old water damage in the living room that took multiple treatments, but these guys stuck with it until it was looking great.

A great experience! After placing calls to multiple contractors, their responsiveness and professionalism were easily the best. They came out the night I called for an estimate and squeezed in my texturing job that weekend. He was willing to negotiate a very fair price and was a great communicator. The work was done very well and fast, including clean-up. We were very happy with everything!

contacted chris and he came out the next day to put together an estimate. lots of good communication and answered all questions before job started. also, before the job started, we had to change the scope of work, and chris came out again the see if there would be any additional cost (there was not). crew arrived each day ready to work. did a good job of sealing the fireplace room from the rest of the house to minimize dust. the crew worked well together. had all of the drywall up the first day. for the next three days they mudded joints and sanded; also primed and textured the walls and ceiling on the last day. during this whole time, chris was constantly asking questions to ensure we were getting the service we wanted. he even offered to come back the day after they finished to help with painting! great job! would definitely hire this man and his crew again.

I recently bought a house, hoping to have a new roof and interior painting done before we moved in a month after purchase. Mud Slingers turned around the bid quickly, were able to work us into their schedule, and did a great job. There were a few "things that come up" along the way. We knew that the previous owners painted quickly and probably DIY. However, the previous owners made a number of subtley unattractive choices that were more difficult to correct, like changing paint sheen on a single wall, or badly using textures, making it necessary for us to re-texturize some walls to cover the previous inconsistent job. Mud Slinger did a great job at a fair price.

I called Mudslingers and made an appointment for a free quote, I think with Chris. He didn't arrive at the scheduled time. I called him an hour later and he said he had car trouble. I'm not sure why he didn't call to reschedule or let me know. He was apologetic. Anyway, we rescheduled for the next day. He was very nice and professional and called a couple days later with a quote for $2500. I told him I already had quotes for $750, $1040, and $1250 and wasn't interested. He called back a couple minutes later and said he could drop the price to $1250 because "he would only put one person on the job instead of two". That doesn't make any sense because it takes as many hours with one or two people. I'd watch out for this guy. I wouldn't want someone who cuts a quote in half and misses an appointment in my house.

The member is right i did miss my first appointment,do to car problems and didn't have my phone.I called the member as soon as I got back home, I told him I was very sorry. When I first looked at the job I felt two guys on the job would work out better, to get in and out as quick as possible. Which doubles the labor price, not to mention my quality of work is much greater standard than a cheap priced contractor that uses cheap labor and not quality materials. There was also more work that the member showed me than what he states, there was kitchen work also that I was asked to give a price for. I did try to work with the member to try to come within his other cheaper quotes, by using one person for the job. I'm not to happy about him stating to watch out for this guy, he wouldn't want me in his house.Because I tried to work out a cheaper price to accomadate him,and to give all F grades were no work was performed. All the jobs I've done I never had one complant.I try to accomadate ever potential customer and try to work things into there budget.

I called him on a Saturday asked for a price quote, he came out on a sunday, gave me a quote of $300.00. I offered him the job, he asked for the $300.00 upfront, I refused, he apologized. I felt sorry for him and still offered him the job. He was due to start on a Monday, I broke my leg on a Thursday and called him to postpone the start of the job. 2.5 weeks later I called him on a Tuesday morning left a message telling him if he still wanted the job he should call me back, he called me back on Wednesday about 5 pm and said I should call him back about 8 pm and would tell me when he could do the job, I felt it was his responsibility to call me back with that information and told him so. He agreed, and did call me back about 9:30 pm (very unprofessional) and was confused as to whether we had set a date or not. I asked him to call me back Thursday morning as I had company. He did not call me on Thursday, but did call late Friday afternoon and left a message that I did not respond to?at this point the whole situation has become to bazaar. Obviously there is something very wrong here. Not sure how he got such a good rating on your list.

The member had signed a contract with us, a few days before work was to start she called and had broken her leg. I felt terrible for her and told her it would be fine. That when she felt better to call me and we would set up a new start date,at which time I asked for full payment due to I still had an employee to pay for the scheduled time we had made. She declined which was no big deal. The member did call back a few weeks later,I was busy working on another job and asked her to call me back after 8:00. The member never did call back, so when I got home I called her it was about 9:00pm she said to call in morning. I asked her to call when she had time. She never did call back. I tried to call her again, no one answered so I left a message for her to call. The member never did call me back, so a few days later I tried her again, this time she was home and proceeded to tell me if I wanted the job that it was my responsibility to contact her, not for her to return my phone calls. The member even states that she didn't respond to my phone calls.Communication is a two way street, you should return a phonecall.I got good ratings ,because we do a greet job for are customer and there happy with are work. Can't make everyone happy ,but I'll still try.

Great! Watching paint dry may be notoriously boring. Watching Chris and his crew paint is amazing. Windows are done with such a steady and neat hand that taping is not needed. Each morning he gathers his crew, outlines the plan, approach, and goal for the day. He checks each morning to see if everything done to that point is satisfactory. He let us know when he would be coming and going. Furniture was returned to its place nightly. It is great to have a handyman as well and a painter.

We had a very tight timeline because we moved into a house and was having carpet installed and furniture from the old house delivered within a few days. Chris worked long, hard hours to make sure his work was done so we could get the carpet installed timely. We had used Chris before for drywalling (which required painting). We thought he did such a great job that we wanted him for an exclusive paint job. We are going to paint additional rooms, and we will be calling Chris to do the work. He is very reliable, not to mention honest. Side Note...Chris was at the house the day the movers came to deliver the furniture from the old house. There was a foot of snow on the ground. He offered to leave his drop cloths for the movers so they would not track snow into the house and on the new carpet. He then came to pick them up even though we offered to wash them and deliver them. That is serivce!
