He painted my house several years ago and also my fence at the same time. When the paint started peeling on the fence I called him to come look at it. He quoted me a price of $2,000 which I paid him. The work was delayed all summer by various things but I remained patient. After months with no work actually being started he asked for another $2,000 to do the job. We agreed on me paying him another $1,700 but all I received for this was more excuses and no actual work being done. He eventually stopped returning my calls all together and has not been in contact with me since May 2018. I would advise anyone to stay away from this company.

Very great work, we are very happy with how the project turned out and Chris really went above and beyond helping us to feel happy in our new home. Chris was great about helping with other minor projects along the way and would stay until wee hours of the night just to make sure he was staying on time with the project. Our only frustrating part was him asking for more money before the project was completed but we did come to understand that he has bills to pay at the end of each month and does rely on this for that so we came to understand. He was honest throughout and I never felt like he was not giving us honest work. For the price, it was worth what he was able to do to update our home!

Chris is a nice guy and I think I caught him at a bad time. I think most of the following was due to rushing to complete the job. 1 room took 4+ weeks and he was nice enough to offer to paint to make amends for the job taking so long. The walls turned out good, but all of the outlets in the room now need to be replaced and I needed to extend each of them out myself so they would match the new wall depth. They also completely drywalled over the wiring for the smoke alarm and left a hole so small for the ceiling fan that I needed to crawl up in the attic to cut new holes for each.

I never charged the customer for the extra time it took me to do things , so I'm not understanding. Plus I told him that all the outlets where gonna need replacement because they where only to prong, which is not code. He also had a battery operated smoke alarm. I can't keep them all happy , I try though.

The project went well. Chris and his Son were polite and did a good job. Under the cold conditions they were able to provide a high quality product. The work they did in my garage looks amazing. They were also able to touch up my existing drywall and re-texture and paint to make the whole garage seamless. There were a few minor cracks to the seams that showed up. Chris is going to wait until the weather warms up to come back and take care of them. I'm confident this will be resolved and he was more than willing to address and take care of it. I'll post an update once the work is done. I also had them paint some exposed wood around my garage door. They did a very nice job and I'm thrilled with the work.

The owner promised, I would be happy with the job, and they went beyond what I had in mind. Matched the walls perfectly, and spent a lot of time removing all left over scrap and cleaning up. Paid them extra because the work was so impressive. They work very well with us.

I apologized to her more then once, was going throw some medical issues. I offer a free estimates to help out potential customers, not to get ragged at . When I explained what was happening, she could give a crap, she wanted her free estimate. Like any other contractor, we offer this services, but don't expect it to be used for just a free estimate to waste are time. We're a small father & son team . I'm tired of people we don't even do work for complaining about us when they never even meet us . Angie'[Member Information Removed] list is such a joke now , they took us off because I wouldn't resign are contract. This is because my bill when from $ 400 a month to $1200 a month, this was explained to us was this is the result of no one paying to find contractor and be a member.

Exceptional job. I would hire them again. Actually I will be. I had a tight timeline and they totally worked with me to get in and get what I wanted done by the date I needed. The 2 man crew that did the work did a great job, circuitous and respectful of me and my home. They taped off and covered so dust did not get into the other rooms, they cleaned up nightly. Took their trash with them. They showed up everyday and completed the work in the estimated 2 weeks. I did call about painting my window sashes shut and they fixed it immediately. I also called about some light spots in the paint that I was not happy with and they came out and put another coat on no questions.
Description of Work: I had mudslingers fix large space in my house. It was the upper level of a bungalow. They fixed cracks, applied a sealer because the room was previously covered in wall paper including the ceiling, Skim coated the entire room and then applied knockdown on the walls and orange peel on the ceiling. They also painted the walls and trim. The room looks amazing!

The initial work was good -- but within a day or two many bubbles appeared in a section of plaster that look terrible and are guaranteed to cause the plaster in that section to start to fall out anytime. I called the owner, Chris Halverson. He came out and agreed it had to be repaired. We set a date for him to do it. I had to cancel that particular date because my wife had had major surgery, and because I was teaching a class in that office. I tried to reschedule -- and Chris has refused to reschedule ever since. He has scheduled NEW customers, but won't schedule to fix the errors his workmen made. Since I had to remove much furniture and everything on the walls of that office, my patients object to getting services there, and they question my competence at delivering services. The other rooms in my office are full of furniture and papers and other things that used to be in the office in which Mudslinger's did their work. I am losing patients as a result of Mudslinger's refusal to schedule and complete repairs.

We told him when we started repairs it needed replacing and he told us he had a budget to stick too. He couldn't afford it right now just continue to patch things . Now he wants us to come fix it , I explained patch work does not include in a warranty. He demanded we fix , sorry but patch work is just a cover up not a repair.

The job started out with some drywall repair but ended up requiring painting as well. Chris fully explained the process up front and did tell us that we might need painting. We were very impressed with every aspect of the job, the guys were very clean and respectful of our home. The job wasn't done until we were fully satisfied and Chris, Jeff and Brandon worked very hard to get everything done in a super timely manner to minimize the disruption in our lives. Clearly service is #1 with this company and we highly recommend. If you came to our house you wouldn't be able to tell where the repairs had been done. Thanks, Mudslingers!

Chris was the main contact / owner of Mudslingers and was very responsive from start to finish. He was easily reachable by text which I really appreciated. I asked for an estimate and though Mudslingers was not the lowest quote or the highest quote, I decided to go with them based on the reviews and also Chris seemed to know what he was talking about. We had knotty pine wood paneling on the ceiling and walls in our living room that is approximately 13' x 21'. We had removed the wood paneling which left about 300+ holes to fill and repair in the walls. We also removed the ceiling and installed electrical work so new drywall was required. Mudslingers repaired the walls, installed the drywall, and painted / refinished everything to look like new. They sealed the room entirely so dust would not go in and out, with a high quality plastic sheet and a zipper to go in and out - I really appreciated this. There were two workers that actually performed the entire remodel - Brandon and Jeff. Yes, they may seem like they are really young (mid-20s?), but they put in a lot of effort and we were very pleased with the end quality. They definitely made sure we were happy in the end and came back one evening even after another job started to ensure all the little things were taken care of to wrap-up the project. We trusted them enough to leave a key while we were not home so they could go in and out. Overall, we are very happy with the work and LOVE the new living room. You cannot even tell that there were so many holes, they did such a good job smoothing the walls. The drywall and paint job looks excellent as well. We would recommend their services to others, thanks again Mudslingers!

absolutely AMAZING service. Down to earth individuals who did really great work! we were caught by surprise at the water damage and mold that had occurred ( from a leak in the dishwasher), Chris did a wonderful assessment, told us all the steps and gave us a very fair price. He noted further improvements to be done with the lighting (previous improper installation) and need for access panel (for wiring of our dehumidifier) : and he took care of it!! (also took care of an extra "ding" in the drywall in a nearby closet) when they did their work, everything was taped off professionally and sealed, all tile and appliances protected. I was very impressed and it was such a relief to see their professional workmanship for this stressful time. They came multiple days (over a few weeks), texted/called my husband with updates on days in-between treatment and were respectful of our house and time. If you need their services, do not hesitate, truly A+++ I will hire again if the need arises!

Chris was called about a small leak in our dining room ceiling. He immediately recognized it as mold, and recognized that the problem was likely more advanced than just the water damage on the ceiling. He cut out small parts of the walls near the joists and discovered our fairly significant mold problem. He secured the room and immediately gave us recommendations on the remediation, the predicted extent of the problem and the cost. This was discovered in early December (not the time of year you want to be displaced from your home due to mold) and despite his busy schedule, he and his crew set to work in the evenings to get our drywall down and the mold remediation begun. He kept us updated regularly on the progress of the project, as well as other developments he discovered. He provided sound recommendations, alternative options and reasonable pricing. He and his crew were neat and tidy, and performed excellent finish work. From beginning to end, we were only out of the house for about a week due to the chemicals being used and having a small child and dog. Chris stands by his word and his work. He was reasonable on his pricing and went the extra mile to make sure the room looked fantastic. One of our return vents was broken in the process and he not only replaced it, but painted our other returns white so they would all match. He and his son went over our baseboards and window frames with a coat of murphy's oil soap to make the room shine. We have an older house that appears dated, but when they were done, the room obvious had had a facelift. We are bringing them back to do more projects this spring/summer.

The experience was overall excellent, except after it was done I started to question the price and I noticed a few other things that make me grade slightly lower on both price and quality. I should have gotten more quotes, but I had already spent $129 for the one room. I did have a lot of issues and they had to replace a pretty large area of drywall in my hallway. I can’t grade them poorly on price, when I didn’t get more quotes and I didn’t question it until after the work was done and I had paid him. Chris (the owner) did say that he was willing to work with me on price, so I would take him up on that negotiation next time. I was naïve about the price before the project started. As far as quality, the color of the wood trim they replaced around my furnace chimney does not match the rest of the woodwork on the chimney. I have dark wood, and they stained it a bit lighter than that. I said it was acceptable, so it's my fault for not liking it as much after they left. When the sun hits it just right, I can really see the difference in color. But, like I said, it's my fault for saying it was ok. The craftsmanship on replacing that piece of trim was excellent. It looks beautiful, except the color being a bit off. The painter who did the painting afterwards found a couple areas where texture spray is missing and said there was texture spray on my ceiling fan blades facing the ceiling. He only mentioned that, because he didn’t want me to think he did it. I haven’t looked at the blades myself, but I believe him. The painter also pointed out a slight crack forming already near my chimney. I’ve already talked with the owner Chris about that and Chris said he’d come out and look at it. We haven’t made the appointment yet, but Chris seemed concerned about it and will stand behind his work. I’m not sure what’s going on there, because Mudslingers really did a thorough job replacing the drywall around my chimney. I was surprised to see the crack, as well. Overall the cleanup by Mudslingers was very thorough. I was able to comfortably move around my house during the project, which I wasn’t expecting to be able to do. My house looks 100% times better now than it did before Mudslingers repaired the walls. The owner (Chris), his son, and the 3rd worker were all very professional, nice, and they seemed to know what they were doing. His son even fixed a crack in my hallway that I hadn't even noticed. So I appreciated their being proactive while they worked. I trusted them with a key to my home and they used it responsibly. I would hire them again, but I would get a few quotes, just to compare prices. I didn't get more quotes because I had already invested $129 through Angie's List to hire them.

Very high quality work. After they completed some drywall work in a previous visit, we got a very fair estimate to paint the rooms and two ceilings. They worked with us to make sure there were no major disruptions in the house, as lots of furniture needed to be moved. All of the work was completed in only two days. They did a great job of keeping everything clean, and putting all furniture back in its place. The painting looks fantastic! We will definitely work with them again.

I don't feel this report is very fair , the customer was out of the coupon area. The coupon was for Milwaukee area and they lived on west side of Peewaukee. I explained that they where out of the area, and would get them a refund, at the time they were ok with that . Now to see this report is unfair . We returned home from vacation to find cracks in drywall in two rooms. We had used Mudslingers in the past. Chris came over the next day and worked us into his schedule a couple of days later. The drywall was not loose or otherwise damaged. The crew mudded and taped then came back to sand and do final mudding. After it dried and was sanded they matched the texture and paint so well that it is impossible to see the repairs. They were courteous and professional at all times. They carefully moved furniture and put down plastic to protect floors and carpet. They even removed their shoes when entering the house to avoid tracking in snow and dirt. Everything was carefully cleaned up when they finished. Great job!

Arrived expecting to give estimate on drywall and paint only. We found rotted wood frame and some mold. Scare effect with black mold and special elimination. Wound up being tar paper the previous owner used between siding and frame/insulation. Just sprayed it myself with bleach and water. Had to contact them to get appraisal back at $4k estimate with no wood being replaced just drywall over. I believe he was in over his head on the extent of possible damage and repair. Got job done for $300 including wood replaced green drywall and mud by someone else.

Everyone has the right to put on reports , but in doing so be honest in your report . Don't do it to spite someone because your upset it cost more then you expected, this is why it's called an estimate. When were contacted about the job ,I asked for the customer to send over pictures of the project. They did so , and in looking at them you could tell there was a black mold present in the corner of the room and along the exterior wall. I called the customer back and had asked to come look at the job and discuss what needed to be done. While we were there looking over the job , he'd asked for two prices one to cover the area with drywall and another one to do what I had recommended. which I had done , I explained we are a company that will not cover up something hazardous like black mold and rotten framing for some one else to find and fix. He was not happy with my price , so I tried to work out a cheaper price with them for what was all needed ( demo, mold remediation ,framing, hang drywall, redo tile, and paint),which no, it isn't cheap . So for him to say he found some one to just cover it up for $300 , and that it wasn't mold but tar paper. then why did he spray bleach back there if there if it was tar paper. I also have the pictures he sent! We try to do are best to make everyone's experience with us a pleasant one, we also do are best to be far in are prices.

We have known Mr. Halverson and worked with Mudslinger?s many times over the last two years. Mudslinger?s is extremely easy to work with, and customer focused. We have had them remove wallpaper, re-drywall, repair walls and ceilings, as well as re-texture walls and paint throughout our old house. They are detail oriented and are not into ?cutting corners.? In our opinion, they do miracles. If we have questions, Mr. Halverson is very easy to reach. If there is a conflict, he and his crew are more than ready to find a resolution that is in our best interest. We have no reservation in recommending Mudslinger?s, and will continue to contract with them for future projects.

We own an 86 year old house. Our living room ceiling, 30 X 15 feet, had for some time needed significant plaster repair. By the time we hired Mudslingers, the plaster was threatening to separate in large chunks from the wood lathe and fall to the wood floors and onto the piano. Chris and his workers protected the floors with backer board, taped closed all doorways with plastic and proceeded to remove all of the plaster. This was a somewhat complicated job in that we asked that the ceiling coves surrounding the entire room be preserved and that the final applied texture matches the dining room ceiling. Chris was able to leave the coves unharmed and installed drywall over the remaining lathe and up to the cove. He blended the new drywall with the coves. A plaster texture was applied to match the adjacent dining room. Unfortunately when the plastering was finished it did not match the dining room. And here is why we feel compelled to write this review. We informed Chris that the texturing would have to be completely redone so that it matched the dining room exactly. Chris was disappointed but got to work. He said, ?I just want you to be happy with my work?. He and his crew sanded off all of the previously done work. Chris used a completely different technique and was able to match the texture of the dining room ceiling! In addition, Chris repaired two wall cracks and repainted the entire living room without additional charge. The backer board and plastic protectors were removed and the crew washed the entire room down: floors, baseboards, and window trim. Our living room was left in pristine condition. We interviewed 3 other contractors prior to Mudslinger's who said our job was too large and complicated and turned us down. Mudslinger?s provided a professionally prepared contract and worked from September 21st-October 13th,2015. Businesses are people. The true measure of a business can be found in how a less than acceptable result is managed by that business. We are completely satisfied with Mudslinger?s work and more importantly how they met our expectations. It is because of the quality of his work and the fact that Mudslingers honored our contract that we recommend Mudslingers and would hire Chris again.
Description of Work: Removed original plaster living room ceiling and replaced with drywall and matching plaster.

We contacted Mudslingers after reading all the positive reviews they had received on Angie's List. Our first contact was with Chris (owner) and he stopped by within 24 hours to look at the problem we'd called him for. We needed a quote to repair a section of the drywall that had been damaged due to a minor water leak. Chris was highly professional in providing a quote and went above & beyond to do a quick patch up of the concerned area (so the problem doesn't expand) before even we hired him for the job. This courteous deed was the first of the many best impressions I got about Mudslingers. We hired Mudslingers to do the job based on the price & timeline quote provided by Chris. Chris' team was as professional as he was throughout the job and he made sure he monitored the progress of the work that was being done every couple of days. At every stage of the job, I was kept well informed of the progress and was part of the decisions being made to service my property. The Mudslingers team completed the job on time, within budget and with high quality. 6 things stood out that made my experience with Mudslingers a good one: 1) They went above & beyond in providing service - patching up the concerned area of my property before even I hired them, coming out on a Saturday morning to look at the progress of the work done, etc. 2) Their team was flexible - we wanted them to service our property after 5 pm everyday and they never hesitated to meet that requirement, they stayed and worked till late to meet our timeline restrictions 3) Very punctual - the Mudslingers team showed up on time every time 4) Timeline & price quotes were to the mark - this shows commitment, Mudslingers team worked to meet their timeline & price quotes given at the start of the job and were successful in doing that 5) Great Quality of work - more than anything else the quality of work provided by the Mudslingers team was fantastic 6) Open communication - Chris always stayed in touch providing updates, discussing concerns & brainstorming ideas, it felt like a team working with him Very impressed with my interactions with Mudslingers. I would highly recommend this service to anyone.

- Classic bait and switch. Originally bided lower than other contractors, and continually tried to "up sell" me on "skin coating" and extra charges. - Like to communicate informally with text messages, despite continually requesting that any "extras" be in the form of a formal written quote. - Constantly asking for "progress" payments. - Cost over-runs of $1200 (they wanted $4500) on top of original quote of $6800. - Painted two rooms (kitchen and family rooms) the wrong color. I think they were just trying to use some left-over paint. A can of paint they left marked "kitchen" was dated "2011," and was not a color match of what was requested. - They did not replace many of the electrical outlets, painted over some electrical outlets, and several outlet covers were missing. - Avoid this contractor. Not honest. Worst contracting experience I've ever had. - I just wanted to get these guys out of the house.
