+ -1 moreWe purchased two Angie's Deals, $59.00/each. Technician arrived on time, was friendly and professional. Inspected and cleaned central air conditioner and gas furnace. Our house is a new purchase so technician spent a few minutes explaining unique feature of the furnace filter and how to maintain it. We also had a problem with the furnace overheating since we moved in. He conducted a detailed inspection and identified a problem with the motor. He left us with a reasonable estimate for repair work.

Description of Work: The provider was supposed to give my central air a tune up. Instead the provider left my fittings loose so that all my freon leaked out. iI called a trustworthy company to fix what they ruined. Do not use this company. I would not use this company again if they were free!!

+ -1 moreThe service man (sorry his name escapes me) performed all tests and cleaned and did the safety check on the furnaces as I hovered nearby. He explained what he was doing and pointed out some areas that were corroded because of the age of the furnaces. He explained the various types of furnaces available and how to go about choosing the best kind for a duplex. He was not in the least pushy about replacing the furnaces right now but did offer suggestions. I appreciated his candor and affability.
Description of Work: The gentleman was punctual and friendly. I bought two big deal coupons for furnace cleaning and a safety inspection for $69.00 each. I own a duplex and this was a convenient way to have both furnaces cleaned and inspected before our wild winter!

+ -1 moreInitially the provider sent me an email saying they would contact me to set up an appointment right after I purchased the Angie's list coupon. I forgot I had purchased the coupon until months later. When I finally called the provider, they offered to perform an AC tuneup because it was so late in the season. It had been years since I had a tuneup on my furnace so I opted to keep the original offer. The provider showed up on time and was very informative. He said they would put me on a list to receive tuneup reminders/specials. I will definitely use this provider in the future.

+ -1 moreI purchased a furnace tuneup special through Angie's. He showed on date and time as agreed upon. He was friendly, professional, and informative with tips. He showed me some areas of concern, but didn't try to oversell anything. Made me feel comfortable. My only small issue was this. I have a unique filter size that has to be ordered as it can't be found in stores. He said he would order them and drop them off himself. He must have forgot and they never arrived, so I ordered them online from Filters.com and they arrived 4 days later.

+ -1 moreUrban's "fantastic" new Angie's List deal of a NEW furnace for $1000 WOULD HAVE BEEN a nice opportunity for us HAD Mr. Sopa offered it in Kenosha county and IF I WOULD HAVE BEEN SO FOOLISH as to trust Mr. Sopa again. Although he offered us a 20% discount, I never received a bill. I emailed him that, since he had not obtained our consent to do the repair, he entered our house illegally. I did not hear from him again.
Description of Work: Ryan Sopa (Urban Heating and Cooling) sent an acknowledgement by email that he received our Angie's list deal purchase in October (2013) for a furnace inspection in Kenosha (His deal said he services all of southern WI and even northern IL). I did not schedule right away, but when I did by phone, and drove 70 miles to my mother's house, he never showed up. He told my sister, he was delayed at another appointment. |We rescheduled for Nov. 22. His employee came on Nov. 22 | and was very courteous. He inspected the furnace, said we needed new filters, and because we asked him to diagnose a noise, he said we needed a fan motor, which was entirely reasonable. He said he thought they had the part, would find out the cost, and let us know. No one called back... so I finally sent Mr. Sopa an email on his website a few days before Dec. 25 telling him that Angie's List was asking for my review of Urban Heating and Cooling and that I was giving him a chance to explain and complete the job... I never heard from him... So if anyone plans on taking him up on his "fantastic" new Angie's List deal for a new furnace for $1000, I'd think twice if I were you. |It was coincidental and could not have been discovered by the serviceman from Urban Heating and Cooling who did inspect the furnace, that the furnace failed and, in the very cold weather at the time, the pipes froze as we discovered on Dec. 25. On1/2/2104, Mr. Sopa, entered our home (we were not there,) without first notifying us he was coming and so without our consent to do the furnace repair for which he had given us no estimate. He gained entry because a service representative from another agency had arrived, and with permission made a different repair to the furnace. I was given to understand that Mr. Sopa completed his repair at that time.

+ -1 moreRyan was right on time and very personable. He cleaned and checked both furnaces. He noticed that both my furnaces are older (25 years) as he pointed out to me. He recommended that I Iook into replacing them sooner then later. He then explained what could happen with an older furnace. He then explained differences between high and lower efficientcy furnaces. He said he'd contact his office to write up a quote on replacements if I wanted to. He didn't try to push me into buying furnaces from his company, instead he sugguested I get several quotes and to chose the one that was best suited for my needs.
Description of Work: I have a duplex so bought 2 coupons for this serrvice. Ryan cleaned both furnaces and explained what he was doing as he went along. He checked and cleaned both furnaces. He made sure the flames were the right color and that everything was operating as it should.

+ -1 moreOur initial appointment was between 3:00 and 5:00 on October 22nd. He called at 5:00 to reschedule on the 24th. He was reschedule on the 24th at 8:00 am. He arrived 15 minutes late. The service that he was supposed to do fell far short of the 18 point inspection they advertised. He was polite and professional but seemed very inexperienced. A total waste of money and my time.
Description of Work: He checked the amps and swept the bottom of the furnace with a small brush.

Description of Work: Ryan examined my furnace and then identified and ordered the part that needed to be replaced. The next morning he was here to install the defective part. It took him less than an hour and my furnce is working better than it did before it "broke".

+ -1 moreThe contractor was prompt and courteous. service was straight-forward; identified concerns with other systems (heating; indicated that they would put us on their "coupon" or reminder list for heating check-ups so that we could investigate the issue further with that coupon) and offered to delivery some air filters the next day. These two value-added services never materialized...which is the reason for B grade in the overall and quality. The grade in price reflects that since we have three units and there is only one trip...i usually am able to arrange a similar price by calling a few heating and A/C providers and explaining that I have three units, etc.
