Urban Heating and Cooling

The job went great. I was very happy with the installation. The two men working on the job were punctual, polite and very conscientious about their work. I plan to use Urban Heating and Cooling for any maintenance for both my air conditioner and heating.

I was very pleased with the service I've gotten from them.

When I called and explained the problem, the technician advised me on what to do to get my cooling temporarily working in order to avoid an emergency service call on the weekend. He explained he could work in a service call on Monday morning if I'd be home. As promised, I received a call mid-morning and he arrived 15 minutes later. The service call lasted approximately 20 minutes and everything was back to normal. I've used Urban for other problems and have always been pleased with their promptness, service and pricing. I'd highly recommend giving them a call.

Crew came in and removed old units early morning and were finished with install by early afternoon. Clean, professional, friendly. I would recommend them to others. Fair pricing and quality work.

They were on time, and did what they said they were going to do. The work took two hours to complete. There was one worker.

They never called. I never recovered my money.

The tech was polite but a little facetious. After spending a few minutes he declared that the problem is with controller board. He replaced the controller board in 10 minutes and furnace started working. He charged us 340 dollars for the controller board. The shocker came when i found the same board on amazon for 70 dollars. Even after taking into account the labor cost, the price i paid could not be justified. To boot it, i noticed that he even took the old controller board. When i called united heating about this, the person responded that he will adjust the cost and will call me back. But he never called me back. This was a complete rip-off. I am never going back to united heating again, and would ask others to stay away as well.

Explained all that was done and issues found.

Had hoped furnace could be adjusted, but technician recommended replacement. Provided replacement quote but I began seeking other quotes. Low initial cost to confirm my original concern that boiler might need replacement.

Service never provided; communication never sent.

He was actually early for the appointment! He solved the problem and we had our AC back on right away. We will definitely call him again in the future.

Our daughter was purchasing a home and on very short notice needed an HVAC inspection. We called many HVAC companies, but only Ryan at Urban agreed to fit us in. As things turned out, the offer on the home fell through, but Ryan's willingness to work something out deserves to be noted. We will use his services in the future.

Contacted Ryan because I thought our furnace was the source of a burning smell coming from our basement. Called him at 8:00 AM on a Friday and he was able to fit me in at 11:00 that same morning. He was in our basement for about 15 minutes before determining the smell was coming from the sump crock due to a burnt out pump. Ryan recommended a plummer in case I needed help replacing the pump. While I had him there, I asked Ryan about removing an electrical pin from my Honeywell air cleaner so I could convert to paper filters. Instead of telling me how, he just did it and then took the time to tell me which replacement filter to buy. When all was said and done, I asked Ryan what the charges were. He said "No charge, glad I could help." and refused to take anything. Needless to say, Ryan and Urban will be my furnace/AC and other mechanical service provider from here on out.

He quoted me a price for the fix right there, gave it to me in writing, and there was no pressure to set up another appointment. I was happy. In fact, I've scheduled a return visit for them to fix the hole and will take a quote from them on replacement a 20-year-old AC.

My heat stopped working on one of the coldest nights of the year. Their 24 hour person called me back promptly and came to my house to check the furnace. Unfortunately he didn't have the parts needed with him, but gave me two reasonable options. He got the furnace running enough we could stay in the house and then returned in the morning with the need parts. He was polite and professional. I would absolutely use them again. I even think their after hours diagnostic fee wasn't awful, that as $99 of my total price. The rest was parts.

I'd had another company over to fix the heating in my house. They installed a new blower, and things were better, but I still wasn't getting enough heat. The guy from Urban Heating and Cooling discovered that the other company had put the blower in backwards (!). Fixing this fixed the problem completely. The guy was pleasant, cheerful, punctual and knowledgeable. I'll make sure to use Urban from now on.

I bought an Angie's List deal for a new furnace. Dennis installed my furnace, and he was awesome! Very friendly, worked quickly, and explained everything to me. I also had them install a whole house humidifier that I had. They did that for a very reasonable price. And boy, does that thing make a difference! They cleaned everything up, and were very neat in general. My only moderate issue was that they did not originally call me to confirm the installation time, I had to call them. However, after that they responded very quickly to all my issues. I will definitely use them again!
