Description of Work: Dale provided a through evaluation of my basement needs, divided his quote to reflect 'must do' and 'should do' which would have allowed me to determine my own requirements which I really liked. Dale himself was very personable and professional. Unfortunately, due to timing, I ended up going with another contractor but the call was very close.

Description of Work: Dale came to visit my home and assess a wet wall in my basement. It turns out there was a gap between my entry step and the foundation that was letting water over the top of the foundation. He said that there was not any work for him to do for me. He offered some advice on a do-it-youself project to seal the gap as well as recommending having an overhang built over that entry way in the future to help with the water problems. Another company had previously visited and wanted to put in a $2600+ interior drain tile system. He said that would keep the floor dry, but not solve the problem. He contacted my after our appointment with some referals for both an architect and mason as I had request during our appointment. Didn't actually do any work, but I would call him back should I ever had a need in the future. Thanks Dale!

Description of Work: dale diagnosed problem with our basement sump pump, it was running continuously but not keeping up with the flow into the pit. he figured out what the issue was right away and gave good advice. the great thing was he was able to come out soon after we found out we had a problem and he didn't charge, even though he probably could have. he pointed us in the right direction regarding who we needed to call to fix the problem.

Description of Work: We got an estimate from Basement Specialist for steel reinforcement on a basement wall.

Description of Work: My father used Basement Specialists and asked that I submit a report based on his experience. After obtaining an estimate of around four thousand dollars from another company, he asked Mr. Dobbe to give an estimate. The first company could not find or describe the cause of the problem but wanted to do extensive work including digging a hole to install a sump pump. In contrast Mr. Dobbe diagnosed the problem as salt leaking into the basement wall from melting the snow on a back porch in winter. He said that there was no need for waterproofing and that the problem could be resovled by sealing some cracks near the porch leading into the basement wall. He would not accept payment and spent over an hour explaining the problem and giving advice about what was needed. According to my father, Mr. Dobbe is honest, knows his craft and deserves praise. The name of the first company is withheld.

Description of Work: THEY DUG THE CEMENT UP AROUND 2 SIDES OF OUR BASEMENT, INSTALLED DRAIN TILE AND PUT METAL SUPPORTS ALONG ONE WALL.

Description of Work: DALE WAS PUNCTUAL AND VERY PERSONABLE. ANSWERED ALL QUESTIONS AND PROVIDED CLEAR QUOTE. USED LEVEL TO MEASURE WALL SHIFT AND EXAMINED HOUSE EXTERIOR FOR GRADING ISSUES. OFFERED ADVICE ON HOW TO PROCEED AND WHO ELSE TO CONTACT FOR PRICE COMPARISON. DIDN'T USE HIS SERVICES BECAUSE WAS HIGHEST ESTIMATE OF THE 3 CONTRACTORS I CONTACTED. OFFERED 10 YEAR WARRANTY ON THE WORK.

Description of Work: PLACED 14 SUPPORT BEAMS ALONG WALL IN BASEMENT TO PREVENT FURTHER MOVEMENT OF THE WALL
