Badger Basement Systems

They confirmed it was only the sump pump which was an inexpensive easy fix which had already been completed by another vcmpany, who then referred me to Badger Basement Systems for a comprehensive assessment. I greatly appreciated their expert opinion and their honesty.

The powerbrace system is under warranty, but I was ready for the sales person to come out and tell me that I needed much work completed and that it would not be covered. Joel came out and was very professional and proceeded to educate me on the powerbrace system and the basics of foundation repair and explained to me there was no issue. He also explained the warranty and ensured that they would be on the hook if there were any structural issues moving forward. Overall, Joel spent time explaining the system to me when he could have just said there wasn't an issue and left when he realized there was no opportunity for a sale. I am very satisfied with the service I received and wouldn't hesitate to use them in the future.

Both my main and back-up sump pump lines were tied into one underground drainage pipe coming together on the outside of my basement wall. The buried pipe excavation was hand dug and the sod was neatly preserved to replace back over the buried pipe. Having been dug by hand was more friendly to my near-by Blue Spruce trees, where a trencher may have cut through many more tree roots potentially causing some tree injury.

Appointment for estimate was scheduled very quick via email, it was 6 weeks out, but other companies were also scheduling at least 4 weeks out at the time. Received written info in mail about Representative and Dry Basement Science prior to appointment. My first contact with Badger Representative was a call the day before to confirm but also trying to move the appointment day and/or time. Not the best first impression since we had been planning for that time for 6 weeks, he was fine with keeping the appointment time the same, however it didn't seem very professional. When Representative came he was cordial, looked at basement and listened to our concerns (water seepage and some possible basement wall movement). He had ability to show us videos regarding basement issues on his computer and calculate estimate while at our home. Recommendation was to brace all basement walls and put in new drain tile system, cost $22,680. We have since had two estimates for the same services. Both other companies recommended bracing at most, 2 of the walls in our basement that have what is considered signficant movement. Neither recommended bracing the entire basement. It seems like Badger offers good products, however it is hard to trust a company that would recommend work that does not appear to be needed.

From start to finish everyone that we came in contact with was very professional. Representative did an excellent job of explaining system to us. Sent a packet for us to read so we could ask questions when rep came out. Estimate was given and work was scheduled in a timely manner. Work was done as promised. Cleaned up area and did a great job.

The person on the phone was friendly, polite and able to schedule our free estimate on a Saturday morning in the future. Very nice and knowledgeable man.

We immediately contacted the landscaper he recommended and got an appointment for an estimate, but the landscaper hasn't been able to come out yet, no doubt due to work overloads brought on by the same torrential rains that caused our original problem. We feel that we received competent professional advice from Badger, and we will use them in the future if we need further services. They have proved themselves to us.

This is the second time we tried to give Badger Basement our business. In 2008, we had water damage from a pipe that had broken and when we called, they said they could come in a few weeks. There was no way we could way that long. Now, fast forward to 2013, out basement has water seeping up from the ground and our carpet and drywall is wet. I called today and they said they could come out sometime next MONTH! Really, a whole month from now? I understand it's been a very wet summer and many other people probably have the same problem as we do. But now, that is twice that we tried to get their help with no luck. I am done calling Badger Basement. I will try another company that is better staffed.

We talked to 4 other companies. They are professional and they offered a great booklet to help us understand our water problems. They don't speak ill of other contractors. They provided a catalog as well as interactive technology documentation to help us make our decision. They had a solution that seemed to make the most sense to us to address our long term needs.

They arrived on time and finished the job in about 4 hours. The system they installed appears to be working and they guarantee that they will take whatever corrective action is required to ensure that it works. I found them to be trustworthy and professional. I would not hesitate to recommend them to others.

They did an excellent job. The workers were very professional and polite, and they kept the house clean while they worked. I really appreciated that they showed up on time and arrived ready to get to work.

Very professional, reliable, did a great job, punctual, nice people. Not cheap, but quality is never cheap. Glad we used them, would use them again.

They were very good and we actually recommended them to a friend. They came in, they did what they said they were going to do, and they were in and out in one day. The cleaned up the mess and did a good work.

The rep they sent to do an estimate was very professional and extremely helpful. He was very thorough and listened very well to all of our needs. He had some great ideas and seemed very experienced. We were very happy with his suggestions but very surprised by the estimated cost. I have no doubt that the quality of the work they would do would be excellent but the cost was way more than we wanted to spend. If you want high quality and are willing to pay top dollar I would definitely go with Badger Basement.

The person was very professional and told me it didn't need done at this time. He communcated very well about what was going on. I will definitely use him in the future if need be. I was really satisfied with him. He even checked into another place for me as well and told me not to buy it.

They are excellent and they did a fabulous work. They are very nice people. They were willing to do the job properly. I had no problem with their work. They are very personable, they come and do a free check before the start of the winter season. They were cheaper than everybody else, but they did a much better job. I would hire them again if needed.

I found a person that does it and I got two for the price of one. The quote process was fine. They gave me a lot of ideas. What I did was have three bids to see what each bid has to say and why they are doing something different than the other person.

They were very good. I would give them high marks for the quality of their work, for the way they interacted with us, and for the amount of time it took to get the job done, which was minimal.

Extremely professional salesman provided details and estimate of the entire project. I received a letter that included the saleman's photo so I would be able to identify him when he showed up. I consider myself a handyman and I have also done construction on a concrete crew. So I knew that cutting into a concrete foundation wall was entirely out of my league. I did do all the prep work to remove the drywall an laminate flooring I already had down. I did not choose to have them do the finish work. What I was the most impressed with was how great the crew was. I couldn't imagine how professional and fast they completed the entire project. They were done within a day. I also received another letter confirming the date and a photo of the foreman. After the dirt settled around the egress window a few months later, they came back and back filled with dirt at no additional charge.

Went very well. No problems. The crew was professional quick and clean. Would recommend this system to anyone.

I love that I had zero water in the house last year. Looking forward to the same for years to come. It took a month to get a date for installation and for financing but it was worth the wait. Total installation days was 2. Whole basement was very dirty and dusty after, but that it what happens when you have to drill out old concrete and tile. Installers were very helpful and hard working. Now I just need to save up enough money to finish off the basement!

I went with somebody else but it was not due to anything they did; I just felt more comfortable with another company. The person this company sent walked inside and outside of my property, took measurements, laser readings and gave me a general understanding of what the problem was. He recommended that an engineer do a review before he made a proposal and talked to the engineer upon completing his review. I thought he was very professional; I don't have any issue with him.

Overall a great experience. Badger Basement was professional at every step. We got 4 bids total to solve our basement water issues ranging fron $2500 to $25,000. We felt that Badger's proposal was the best and most complete plan to solve the problems. The work was performed as scheduled, no mess was left (in fact the basement was cleaner when they left). We have not had much rain since the install (our basement would normally flood 1-2 times per year before the fix) but we have every expectation that the issue is resolved. I would recommend them highly and would use their services again..

Sept 24, 2012 - The team (Alan and Chuck) arrived on the agreed upon date and completed their part of the work in 2 days. They were very courteous, helpful and answered all of our questions as the work progressed. Anticipating there would be damage to surrounding landscaping, I temporarily relocated plantings from an area about 8ft around the structure prior to the work. Unfortunately, the excavation required more space than I anticipated and there was more collateral damage to landscaping than I expected. I should have asked Joel how much area they would need so I could have moved all of the plantings I wanted to save. In addition, they left a large amount of excavated soil on a steep hillside that I had to manually shovel back to the top. This was a 6 hour job for me over two days that probably would have taken 5 or 10 minutes with their Bobcat. After completing the pier installation, I was told that mudjackers would contact us to fill the holes where the slab piers were installed in the floor. I could not obtain a definite schedule, even after I inquired several days later. The mudjackers showed up unexpectedly on October 4, 2012. The inability to get a schedule commitment for the mudjackers caused me some anxiety since I wanted to coordinate their work with another contractor who was renovating the room with new windows and doors after the foundation was stabilized. Oct 13, 2012 ? After our first significant rain since early August 9, I found that the backfill had sunk more the 15 inches in an area next to the step on the west side of the structure and about 17 inches in a 3 x 5 ft area on the north side where I had just finished spreading top soil and planting grass seed. I called Badger Basement and they promply offered to remedy the situation. Oct 23, 2012 - Dan arrived as scheduled with additional fill for the sunken areas. He spent over an hour filling, carefully tamping and leveling the area. He was very conscientious but had to return a few days later since he did not have enough soil. I was very pleased with Dan. The employees truly make the company! In spite of the backfill issue, that was promptly corrected, and the excess excavation at the bottom of the hillside, our overall experience with Badger Basement Systems was good. They did not hesitate to correct problems. Since I am not an engineer, I am unable to comment on the quality of the pier installation. For now, I feel comfortable with the numerous favorable reports by Angie?s list members and feel confident Badger Basement will stand by their 25 year guarantee for any significant future settling.
