I wound up putting off doing the roof so I didn't actually hire them. He was very professional and seem eager to get the job. He was enthusiastic. If I have decided to actually do the roof at that time, I would certainly have given them serious consideration.

Big Fish Contracting was recommended to us based on a friend's roofing experience with them. They replaced all the windows in our home and wrapped the outsides with aluminum. They were mindful and cleaned up outside as well as inside the house. They even wiped down the window glass. They were professional and polite. Often when other contractors are around you cover your kid?s ears because of the colorful language used, but the entire crew was very well spoken and friendly. When I had questions regarding the structure of the windows, insulating qualities and warranties they gladly answered my questions and had the window rep contact me. We researched multiple other window options, including the big name brands. When comparing the window?s specs and qualities side by side we were impressed with the quality and price offered through Big Fish. We would highly recommend using Big Fish Contracting.

Individual was punctual. Performed inspection services for roofing and flashing. Indicated that a new roof was probably needed soon. I told him that I wasn't ready yet to buy a new roof. I told him that I wanted my flashing around the chimney checked out because it was leaking. They did caulk the flashing at the chimney. Unfortunately, the leak continued afterward. I called Big Fish and informed of the still leading flashing. He came back out and re-did the flashing and once again told me the roof needed to be replaced. The 2nd time, I paid him another 200 for the 2nd flashing repair. Sadly, the flashing still leaks. I am now in process of contacting another roofer for the same job, hopefully successfully this time.

I purchased a big deal coupon for roof/gutter maintenance. Someone came out to look at what needed to be done, and he said I needed an $800 repair. The roof had been inspected less than 1 year prior. I called another roofer who came out a few days later to give me a second opinion. This other roofer said that the roof only needed a few nails replaced. Based on this, I did not use the coupon that I had purchased.

This was the first major renovation we've had to do to our home since we moved in and, needless, to say, we were a bit nervous. We had signed the contract and were put on the waiting list (which we anticipated). Erik, the owner, kept us posted on when he thought he and his crew would be at our house (weather dependent). Every time I called him w/a question, he always returned the phone call the same day. We knew a few days before the job was to begin that they would be arriving. Erik and his crew were extremely professional, prompt and courteous. We had an extra vent put on our roof for a fan that had been installed in our bathroom. He was kind enough to go int our attic and attach it for us. I would not hesitate to use them again and, in fact, we will be getting an estimate from him in spring to replace the windows in our home.

We did a snow removal contract with them in 2011/12 and rehired them for this winter. His service was GREAT and excellent response to questions and phone calls or text messages. It is refreshing to work with a contractor that does what he commits to. Anthony waite

We are very please with work that was done. They crew that did the work was very curtious and careful with our plantings and yard in general. They cleaned up very well each day they were here and did a extra special clean up at the end of the job. I haven't found any debris or nails after 4 months. The job did take longer than estimated because of the extreme heat we experienced this summer. To avoid the very hot afternoon hours the crew knocked off about 2:00 each afternoon. I would recommend Big Fish Contracting to anyone needing roof work done.

very pleased. got estimates from three companies. All were professional. Big Fish were best listeners. We felt they had our best interests in mind. They showed up on time and got the work done in one day with a little touch up work on the next day. They were very clean and the work is high quality.

Just as noted above the work was completed in two days by his men which were courtious and caring as not to damage shrubs or plants or harm to our neighbor's yard too. They made sure to cover the working area to avoid any damage The crew of men worked hard to make sure that they did an outstanding job. They cleaned up the yard like they said they would and we have a beautiful roof that will last us for over 30 years. Simply put, Awesome! I have no doubt our new roof is more than capable of lasting decades without issue and the gutters will no longer be a source of worry. The landscaping has transformed our home. We have a natural, inviting area that can now be used by our family. Big Fish wasn't the cheapest quote we received but after talking with them and then hiring them for the work, my wife and I couldn't be happier with our selection. When it comes to roofing, it's not just the materials selected but how they are put on the roof. A quality install is the most important aspect to a new roof.

They were very pleasant to work with, the guys were punctual, cleaned up after themselves and I'm very satisfied with their work. Eric responded quickly to our original call and reviewed our current our gutter situation. He eplained our problems, helped us consider the alternatives and provided a quote to replace all of our gutters and downspouts. He was extremely professional and helpful throughout the process. The work was started two weeks later and we were very happy with the results. Eric is a customer oriented provider that matches quality work and fair prices. We had a few unusual issues and he was quick to step up and see that they got resolved to our satisfaction. From the day we met Erik we knew that he was a man of integrity & honesty. Erik was very detailed in his description of what the scope of the project entailed and did not try to oversell us like others did. This was a huge project for us and the first time I have contracted something of this magnitude. I typically like to do my own household improvements but this was beyond my abilities. My roof was 30 years old and showing typical signs of the need for replacement, namely curling and loss of gravel. I didn't know where to begin, but I knew that educating myself on roofing would help. The internet and Angie's List provided very adequate resources. Finding a contractor that you trust to do this once in a lifetime home investment can be unnerving and troubling. The best piece of advice is to know what you are willing to spend and consistently compare apples to apples with regards to roofing materials. During my nine week search, I realized that many contractors use their own tar paper, ridge cap shingles, water and ice barrier, and aren't afraid to make up different combinations that affect their prices. By the time I made my decision to hire Big Fish Contracting to replace my roof, I had 15 proposals from roofing companies from North, South, and West of Wauwatosa. It takes patience and persistence. One other thing that I realized is that the number of favorable reviews should not be the deciding factor either, as some roofing companies do many small repair jobs for $500 or less. When you are spending $8,000 to $11,000 on replacing your roof, you want to hear how the big jobs went and not just the spot repairs. So look at everybody's big jobs and review pages.Big Fish Contracting caught my eye with both their reviews and with the materials being offered. Erik had wealth of knowledge and information. He was punctual in returning my calls, answering my emails, and replying to all of my text messages. His coordination and direction of the roofing job, which included the efforts of an outside HVAC contractor, was flawless and without stress to our family and daily routine. Big Fish Contracting delivered what they promised. Big Fish Contracting was not the least expensive nor the most expensive of the proposals that I collected. I believe that Big Fish Contracting offered the best price and the best materials and best warranty, period. The GAF "Golden Pledge" warranty was several hundred dollars extra, and covers future labor charges if they are ever needed. Erik offered GAF's "Systems Plus" warranty at no extra charge, which is the same as the Golden Pledge except does not include labor charges. In addition, the GAF warranty is backed by "Good Housekeeping." The reconstruction of my roof started on Wednesday and ended on Thursday. The gutter work was performed on Friday. The job, as I mentioned before, was coordinated perfectly. We had some rain and wind that had to be worked around. Materials were delivered and placed on the roof the day before without issues. The work crew started at 7:30 am Wednesday and worked throughout the day. We did experience some rain Wednesday night, but by early Thursday afternoon the workmen were back to work. They finished and the HVAC contractor completed his project also. I paid to have the chimney removed to the roofline and a small vent was added up the old chimney to continue servicing the water heater in the basement. Now there is no chimney to maintain, because my high efficiency furnace vents out the side of my house. The Big Fish work crew was very professional, hard working, polite, and meticuously neat and tidy. The shingle rows are dead straight and concentric. All the proposed materials were used in the project. The clean-up was intense and despite my obsessive search for nails and other leftover debris, I could find nothing. The following day the gutters were installed. Again, the gutters are pitched properly, and appear in line and professional. My house was difficult to "gutter" because it is built on different angles and has settled over the past 55 years. The gutters look very professional and work as they are supposed to.I highly recommend Erik and Big Fish Contracting and I am very pleased with their work.

Eric and his team were great. The estimate was quick and the best of two companies. Eric worked with me on the cost as I needed to split up the cost with credit card and cash. Eric's team were quick and professional and cleaned up the environment just the way it was before they started work. We had a small issue with the new gutter guard he put in as I had no way to hang Christmas lights but Eric quickly came up with a solution and performed the modification. Eric was in constant communication with me from the schedule of the estimate until I was completely satisfied. We love the color of the shingles and we are extremely satisfied with the work that was done and would recommend Eric and his team to anyone. Great job.

I was extremely happy with the entire process. The price was good and from the time that I decided to go ahead with the new roof it was only a few days until they came and did the job. A large crew showed up at 7am and by 5pm they had the entire old roof torn off, and the new roof was on complete with flashings and everything was done. The crew was very courteous and even offered to put my rooftop antennae back up when they were done. They also did a very good job of cleanup as I haven't found a single nail or anything else left behind on the ground. They paid close attention to detail and the colors of the valley and chimney flashings match the roof and they also painted the ugly metal utility pole on my roof where the electric and phone lines come in so it blends in with the color of the roof and looks good.
