They did a good job. Their service is affordable. They were within the proposed amount. I would use them again in the future if need be.

On the 16th of August they performed the tree removal using a two man crew, bucket truck and wood chipper. A very careful job done so that the electric, telephone, and cable lines were safely avoided, as well as flower beds. Very efficient, professional, and friendly. They showed up the next morning and ground out the stump in a very delicate operation which came very close to my neighbors garage, but without touching or disturbing it. All in all, a very pleasant experience. The only down side is the loss of a great old shade tree. Would definitely recommend Dorshak Family Tree Service and use them again.

Called for estimated. Estimator came out same day. Wrote proposal on site. Agreed to the proposal on site and work was placed on schedule. Work completed in 2 visits within 2 weeks. No complaints with work quality. Excellent cleanup. The only flaw is they forgot to give me the Angie's List discount on the invoice I received.

The tree had large limbs that were over the roof. They made it look easy when they removed the tree without damaging the house. They did a very nice job of removing all the debris. Can't believe how fast they worked. All was not perfect such as the stump remover leaked something that killed the grass in spots and the top soil they brought in produced a lot of weeds including Crack grass. Because of health problems, I never got back to them so I don't know how they would have handled it. So I can't hold that against them. Over all I'm very happy and I'm thinking now about calling them for the other tree.

Dorshak Family Tree folks handled absolutely everything very well. They handled all communication; arranging for We Energies to drop the line and bring it back up at the appropriate times, they arranged with one neighbor to bring the backyard bucket truck into their yard, and they made sure the nervous neighbor understood how the tree would be removed, so he didn't have to worry about his garage or house roof being harmed. They sent 2 crews and arrived on time. They were all friendly and unbelievely polite. Dorshak Family Tree had permission to block off the street in front of our house, so they could park a 90-Ton crane there. The crane driver lifted limbs and sections of the tree down to the street where they were put through a chipper and blown into a dump truck. The entire crew worked together like well-oiled clock work, and were through in less than 2 hours. My husband and I were very impressed by the way they left their work area. The absence of the tree was the only sign they'd ever been here!

We feel very fortunate to have found theDorshak Tree Service. The fact that Randy was not willing to sacrifice the quality of his work by using the bucket truck, says a lot about the philosophy of the company. We have used other tree services in the 45 years that we have lived in our home, but we have never had a company that had such expertise, did such outstanding work, and was so easy to deal with! We will certainly use their service again, and will recommend them to our friends and neighbors.

Angie's List has been zero help in weeding out the bad companies. Every one of the four companies that didn't show up to do the work had an "A" rating.

First visit was to do the work for my Birch Tree. They returned a couple of days later to trim the large Maple and top off my shrub. They were very thorough and communicated with me how much should be trimmed and they also informed me how much could be trimmed without compromising the health of the tree. They were extremely careful how to trim so there was no damage done to my fence, garage and yard in general. Clean up was superb. They also belong to the Wisconsin Arborist Association, the International Society of Arboriculture and the Tree Care Industry Association.

I called on 4/12/10 and Myron came out the next day for my free estimate. I accepted the bid (I did not seek any other estimates so I can't rate the cost)and work was scheduled for 4/22/10 @ 10am due to the fact that they had to co-ordinate with the electric company to drop my power line. Brian and Lance were at my home promptly at 8:30am and began working. They were very precise, neat and friendly. I can't say enough nice things about each of them! The electric company came later to drop the line and was prompt to return for the reconnect at the end. Both properties were left spotless. Randy came the next day to stump the cedar area. The cost was a little higher because my neighbor did not want the weight of the basket truck on her driveway, so Brian had to scale the tree. I was very pleased with this company and would use them again and recommend them to others. I also received a 5% discount for mentioning Angies List!

They did a good job. They are right around the corner from my home and they were available for the work.

I found them by going through the phone book. I think I got 4 estimates, and they seemed to be able to do what was needed to be done at the lowest price. He told me that he would take some time to do the estimate because they were doing a lot of work but that he would try to get an estimate within a week, and they did that. I agreed to wait for them to come out and do the job because it wasn?t crucial. I did have to call them eventually to ask them to come over. They came in the morning and were done sometime in the afternoon. They left the property clean. I would probably use them in the future, if necessary.

I called this company based upon a recommendation from a family friend. They were very prompt in responding to my request for a quote. They negotiated the quote to my satisfaction and performed the work per agreed timeframes. But what made them superior was that they had done some small damage to my driveway. They adjusted their price to allow for the damage so I could get the driveway repaired. The adjustment was fair and made me whole. I was HIGHLY satisfied. This is what sets the really good guys apart from the so so guys. I asked for a reasonable adjustment .. I didn't ask for a new driveway I wasn't unreasonable. I highly recommend these people. They are reputable and stand behind their work and they understand customer service. If something goes wrong - they're there for you. They were for me.

I called them on a Saturday and it took them about an hour and a half to arrive at my home. They worked quickly, removed the tree with no problems and cleaned up after themselves. They actually educated me on how to care for the tree after the work was done. I would highly recommend him.

It went well overall. They had to reschedule from the original date, but was out the next day. They worked quickly and efficiently, and the fully grown tree was gone in about an hour.

When the owner of Dorshak was notified of my review, he called to set an appointment to show me the cables they use. When he showed me how the cables were attached, it all made sense. The cables in my tree were not frayed, but to someone not familiar with the process they would look frayed. They use "pre-forms," which are lengths of cable that are already formed to go through the eye bolts. Thus there's more than one piece of cable. There's actually three pieces in one string of cable. I suggested to the owner that he tell his sales people to explain the cable process so that they don't get more customers like me complaining. When he stopped out, I also said that I'd like a little more of the tree trimmed back on the south end. His crew was out the next day to take care of that. We've used Dorshak for over twenty years, and I knew there was a reason why.

I have used Dorshak before, and would use them again. No matter who I talked to on the phone, they seemed to communicate what I said to the appropriate parties. Very good communication, with several calls from Dorshak to me to check on progress and clarify what work was to be done. I was a bit indecisive, so some of the work was added after the rest had already been completed. They never complained about my indecisiveness.

This was not the first time I used Dorshak, they grined some stumps for me five years ago and I was please with the service so I called them for the tree job. All phone calls were professional and the estimate was done with in two days of my first call. I was asked if there was a specific time I needed the word done by, which I did not, that is the reason I did not rate the companies puncuality. They came to the house four times,all in the afternoon (twice for the pine, once for the box elder and once to grind). After the first visit I was told they would return in the afternoon again to complete the pine, which was fine with me. They did a nice job with the clean up after the cutting was done and also took care to place wood sheets on my grass to help reduce tire tracks in the yard. They also moved a swings set and retuned it into its place when the job was complete. The tree trimmers were polite and did not mind that my son sat and watched them work. Over all I was really pleased with the work that was done and have and will continue to recommend the company to others.

Come to our home twice. Both times the people on the phone and in the field have been very professional. The men had to do some difficult man work in our narrow driveway but they took the upmost precussion and did a great job. From beginning to end they met our expections and ask if they could do more. Dorshak has earned our trust.

I initially called the office for an estimate and was informed that estimates were free and some one would be out to provide that within 7-10 days. To my surprise, a certified arborist came to give the quote the very next day. The arborist was very informative on the types of trees I had and what I needed done for up-keep of my trees. He was very professional and had an informational packet for me to keep. The packet contained useful information about the company history, references, and a copy of their liability insurance. I was so impressed with the promptness and professionalism portrayed, I chose to have the work done by this company. A few days later the office manager called to schedule my work to be done. She was very polite and worked around my crazy schedule even though the company was very busy at this time. She treated my needs as a priority. I have had dealings with many companies but never had such good customer service. On the day my work was scheduled, the crew arrived promptly and went over exactly what they were going to do and how they were going to do it. All the men on the crew were very polite and professional. The foreman, Wally, really helped me understand how to help my trees stay beautiful and healthy. I was even surprised to see that there was a woman on the crew. I never thought that an industry like this would have women working in it. I was really surprised to see how knowledgeable everyone in the company was. They really take pride in what they do. After the work was complete, the crew did a wonderful job in cleaning up and left little for me to do in the end. They hauled everything away and even raked up little twigs on the lawn. My experience with this company is one I will pass on to my friends and family. I was satisfied with the company from beginning to end. Thank you for doing such a wonderful job on my trees. I have to say that the Dorshak's is one of the best companies I have ever dealt with.

They were easy to work with and efficient. I would recommend them to others.

After receiving an estimate, I called Dorshak on November 20th. The person I spoke with said that the work could be completed the next week and that someone would call me the next day (Wednesday, November 21st) to schedule it. I needed the work done quickly because the roofers were coming on December 5. My expectation, based on this phone call, was that the tree work would be done during the last week in November. Dorshak never called back. Finally midweek during the last week of November I called to find out what was going on. Initially I was told that the work could not be done until December 7th. The roofer was coming to work on the house December 5th, so I asked if the work could be done sooner. After a long time on hold I was told it could be done on Monday, December 3rd. I never received an apology or an explanation about why no one ever called back. I received a message on December 2nd that the work could not be done because the workers had been plowing snow and needed a day off, and that the work had been rescheduled for December 7th (clearly the information about when I needed the work completed by had not been passed along, even though I had been asked three different times during the initial phone call when the roofers were coming). I called on Monday morning around 9:00am and spoke with Summer. She was discourteous, bordering on rude and told me she would have to call me back in a few hours. I did not receive a call back until nearly 5:00pm. She told me that maybe the work could be done Tuesday, but she would not know until the morning. She called Tuesday morning to tell me that the work could not be done. After explaining the situation to my roofer, he had indicated that they would take care of any branches that got in their way, so I asked Summer to please cancel the job. She said she would do this, and I hoped that my dealings with Dorshak were over. Unfortunately, the poor communication and awful customer service only continued when I received a call on Wednesday evening saying that we won t be able to complete the work on your trees TOMORROW. Not only had nothing ever been scheduled for Thursday, but I had asked that the job be canceled. The woman on the phone was unprofessional and sounded half asleep ( What do you mean it was canceled? ). I sent a letter documenting the above to the owners of Dorshak Tree Service on December 7, 2007. I never received a response. To date I have not received an apology. I could not believe how a company could be this unprofessional and stay in business.

They came and gave it an estimate before they did it. It was a very large pine tree so it may have charged more because it was so big. They did a good job. We had really bad rain and high storms and our tree fell down. They gave me an estimate but they had to work on the people who had critical problems. They did what they said they were going to do. They cleaned up their mess. I didn't price hunt because it was just something that needed to get done. They came so promptly even though there was a crisis in this area.

After my initial call, Myron (owner) came out promptly and left an estimate for my review. After seeing the price, I was dumbfounded based on the estimates I had received from 2 other companies, $900 & $800. I figured there must have been an error, perhaps an extra zero was added to the quote. I called Mryon to clarify. He stated that amount was correct. I asked if the removal required special handling that other companies didn't factor in. He said other than having to climb the tree, there was nothing unusual about the removal. I asked him why his price was so far out of the ballpark from others that I received, over 4 times the amount! He rudely said (and I quote), "then go with them." I then ended the call and contacted the office directly. I spoke to a member of his staff and explained my dissatisfaction with how I was treated by Myron. Although she was not outright rude to me, she half-heartedly apologized and said Myron is the owner. As if that allows him to be rude.
