Pratt's Professional Chimney Service

I would definitely recommend Pratt's Professional Chimney Service for any Chimney work you need to have done. We need to have both` our chimneys re-lined before closing on our house. They Promptly showed up and completed the work within one day.

The service went well. I wasn't quite sure how much they actually cleaned or if they cleaned because I didn't see much difference when they left from when they got there. He checked everything and said everything was okay and it was working, so I was happy about that. The interaction was fine. They went about their business, and they were there if anything.

It was okay. I really did need the tuckpointing done so I have to call him back. The chimney was okay with the work that I purchased. It was alright. I really didn't need that done, I guess, so I have to contact him about that. I didn't have any other contractors come out to look at the attic and the basement. Somebody else had told me something about the venting of those furnaces a while back so I decided to have it done, but I didn't have anybody else come out and give me an estimate so probably it was a little too high. I think the work that he did was good. He put a cap on the chimney but I don't think he did a very good job with it. On the first windy day, it blew off. I called him and he came back, and he repaired probably a couple of days later. He never contacted me. He just came and fixed it. That was okay but it would have been nice if he would have called me. As far as the work he did, I think it was fine. He got everything up to code. As far as I can tell, he did a very good job. There are no problems with the work that he did. Probably I'll just downgrade him on the cost because I think it was a little bit too much money that I paid. It was only a day's work. I think $3,000 is a lot for just one day's work.

It went really well. He came the afternoon of the appointment, inspected, and cleaned our chimney. I would use Pratt's again.

Steve told me everything that was needed in detail. He also pointed out some work that was done incorrectly by another contractor. I was able to go back to that contractor to get the work redone at no cost. I felt that Steve was honest and conscientious. He had a subcontractor do the chimney rebuild and I was very happy with his work as well.

For $140, I expected a little more extensive cleaning and inspection both inside and outside. The representative came in the house, ran his brush up the chimney, vacuumed out the ash and left within about 15-20 minutes. I don't think it was worth the $140. The $140 cleaning price published on Angie's List seemed cheap compared to some other estimates so I can't be overly critical. I just expected more for that price. Overall though, the representative was courteous, on time and very professional.

Dave was GREAT. On time, knowledgable, helpful, professional. Highly recommend. Reasonably priced. We will be repeat customers.

Austin did a great job. Figured out how to use a remote starter on one of our gas fireplaces which was installed by a prior homeowner and I had no idea how to operate. Very thorough.

The tech arrived within the agreed upon window of time. He was very knowledgeable and provided with options on how to handle our old fireplace chimney and also the water heater chimney, which was out side of his initial scope of work. He was able to communicate with my wife effectively and called me at work to see if there were any questions as well. At this point our fireplace will remain out of use, but they did a great job.

Very uneventful. He arrived slightly early. It took him about 20-25 minutes to check and clean the chimney. He cleaned up and off he went.

I bought the 139.99 deal for chimney sweep and inspection. Tech arrived and started work right away to look at the firebox, and then went outside to clean the chimney from up top at the roof. I mentioned a cracked ceramic panel that my home inspector had pointed out to the tech. He was able to cut a new panel to size and replace the cut panel. He did a good job cleaning up after his work and vacuumed the surrounding area. I was a little confused on the camera inspection part as the tech seemed to indicate this wasn't necessary with my type. I still wanted that piece done. I didn't see any pictures so I had to take the techs word for it that he used the camera while up on the roof. Overall a good job, chimney looked very clean, and I'm satisfied that I'll be able to use the fireplace now and not worry about chimney fires from a dirty chimney.

The tech called about an hour before the appointment asking if he could arrive early. I said sure, as I was working from home that day, anyway. About 10 minutes later, he arrived. Half an hour later, the chimney was cleaned and he stuck around answering some of my questions about the chimney as I've never had one before. He was pleasant. The guy was pleasant, but there was one issue: I have a double sided fireplace, and the cleaning ended up blowing some of the particle dust out the other side. It was a 5 minute cleanup, but extra work on my part that I believe should have been handled by the company, but it wasn't a big enough issue to worry about.

Dave from Pratt's arrived promptly and set to work - he did a great job, cleaning our fireplace that probably hasn't been used in 25 years (we just moved in, the previous owner moved here in the mid 90's and said he'd only used it a couple times.) When he was finished, he walked me through everything he did, areas where we should do some maintenance and other options for updating the fireplace and keeping it going for the long haul. Incredibly nice and professional; all-around a great experience that set our minds at ease a bit for using the fireplace this winter! We'll definitely be using them again, and going through with the recommended maintenance.

My experience with Pratt's is everything you would hope for when hiring someone to do work for you. The woman taking calls was fantastic and patient while we struggled to find both availability and clear weather. She was able to find an appointment a little more than a week out that worked with my schedule. Dave arrived 15 minutes early and was not only friendly, he was patient while I explained to him what I believed to be the problem (water was dripping down the chimney pipe into the attic due to leaks in the caulk/sealant). After confirming the cause of the problem, he offered to fix it on the spot for an incredibly fair price. It was a simple problem with a simple solution and Dave made it a stress free experience where I felt I not only was treated fairly, I felt I got a very good deal and know that the repairs are professional. Thank you Pratt's and Dave especially!

We would definitely use Pratt's Chimney Sweep again! The gentleman arrived on time. He was efficient and through. There was no mess or fuss on our part! We had a special price from Angie's List but even without it this company would have been much less expensive than the other chimney sweeps we called. Make sure to call them if you need your chimney cleaned!

Lovely young man seemed very knowledgeable and experienced. Neat, clean, on time, considerate. Hoping he will come back and replace my damper!

The chimney professional arrived during the time estimated and was very friendly. He talked me through every question and aspect of the process as well as giving recommendations for future use of our fireplace. Put down a dropcloth and kept the family room area clean.

Pratte's came on time and cleaned my chimney. Very professional. Answered all my questions and kept the carpet and surrounding area protected. Friendly service.

This is what happened. A tech came by to sweep and vacuum the chimney. That was it. No written anything, no cameras, no checking the caps... No followup after the tech verbally stated that he would concerning another project. Made an appointment last week to get something in writing and get questions about the flue answered and all we got was a no cal no show. Very disappointed.

He set up vaccumn. Then cleaned and repaired chimney. He gave us a price to seal the cracks he found. We agreed. He was very pleasant and left out living room spotless.

Process went great. Since this was the first cleaning and inspection (we bought the house in Spring), David took the time to explain the process, familiarize me with the fireplace, discuss the issues found during the inspection (nothing major), plus happily answered all of my questions. For any future cleaning and service, I'll be calling Pratt's first!

The technician was prompt, friendly and professional. He was able to answer questions I had, cleaned up the space well and left no mess behind. I am using them for services again to make our fireplace more efficient.
