Pratt's Professional Chimney Service

The cleaning went quick and there was no mess. The technician was very friendly and professional.

Grant looked at our fire place and told us what needed to be done and the associated cost. He gave us some options on the work. We accepted the proposal. The work was scheduled. Grant & Sam arrived as scheduled, they did a great job, they explained what they were going to do and updated us as the work was progressing. I was impressed with Grant's professionalism and knowledge.

As part of a kitchen remodel project we needed our unused chimney removed down to the basement ceiling level. Pratt gave a very reasonable estimate, completed the job in four hours, and even rescheduled when a glitch in our timeline required us to postpone the work. Very happy with the outcome.

We started out with a chimney sweep. A complimentary safety inspection revealed that our chimney had experienced at least one chimney fire (we don't know when, may have pre-dated us), a cracked liner, and other issues. Pratt's Pro provided documentation to our home insurance provider and we were able to have the majority of costs covered by our home insurance. They did crack and mess up the paint on the face of the hearth, and recommended we increase the depth of the hearth, but couldn't provide any recommendations on service providers who could repair those damages. They also replaced the flue in our chimney, but without written guidelines on how to operate it, we ended up filling our house with smoke twice before figuring it out (our fault more than theirs probably). Having now had so many problems with the fireplace, we are glad it's fixed up, but not as inclined to use it much now.

The installation of the new flue and damper went very smoothly. A potential messy job was not messy. The technicians were knowledgeable and pleasant and professional. The work is excellent and their follow-up was great. The follow-up in Feb. 2018 was just as professional.

Their 2 workers called to tell me when they would get here - right at the time scheduled. They cleaned the chimney and gave me an estimate for the work I knew would need to be done. Very professional, very polite, very clean. I had called for estimates and Pratt's was by far the most affordable. With the Angie's list discount I will also get 5% off of the price of repairs. I am very pleased with Pratt's.

we recently moved into our new home and needed our chimney inspected before using it. They showed us a video of our chimney, which was completely damaged on the inside, unusable. They provided us with a quote for the repair. Although it is not in our budget for now, we will definitely use Pratt's for when we are ready for service, they were fast, clean and effective.

Overall, everything was good on their end. Having a camera for the inspection, we were able to see many problems we were unaware of, and wish we would've caught in our home inspection.

The workers were professional, friendly, and informative. Unfortunately a lot of repairs need to be done for fireplace safety and repair of chimney stone work. The price is high but I don't know - it might be a fair estimate. With that level of expense it's advisable to get a couple of more bids before deciding, so I'll probably do that.

Excellent work done; turned out to need more than we expected and they figured it out, got additional parts needed and got it all done the same day. Our roof is slate and you can't walk on it, so all the exterior work was done off of a boom/lift, which is challenging. They did flawless work. Was very pleased with the work and am hiring them for another job.

The communication around that top coat and the timing of things was not handled smoothly but, they did make it right. We have the major repairs coming up in August. There was miscommunication on their end. The guy said he repaired the chimney but he hadn't repaired the chimney. Apparently, he prepared a different stack on our house rather than our primary chimney. So, they did come back when we questioned them and got it fixed and taken care of. They gave us a quote and they came and did a temporary fix to tied us over until they could fit us into their schedule to do the full work. They did some preventative work so that we would not have leaking in the meantime.

Went well -- only interruption was the rain. Very experienced. Great communication. Yard work area was completely cleaned up at completion of job.
