had a critter in fireplace stack, they came out within hours of calling them, flushed out the critter and repositioned the screen to get rid of 1/2 inch gap, and also re-caulked flashing. This is a three story home in back with very steep angles. Their tech was like a mountain goat up there. Very pleased with there service.

I had called Pratt's and left a voicemail to have the chimney swept on our house. Later that same day, I received a very pleasant and professional call back to schedule a cleaning about two weeks out. Pratt's team of two (including Steve, the owner) showed up ahead of schedule and immediately got to work: one technician on our steep roof and one inside the house. Both Steve and the other technician removed their shoes in the house and laid tarps around the fireplace to reduce any mess. Overall, cleaning took about an hour and the firebox is noticeable cleaner. In addition, during their inspection, it was identified that the top of my chimney needed sealant, which they offered to correct on the spot. They clearly stated the cost to fix this, and without pressure, allowed me to choose whether or not I wanted to have this performed. Both individuals were very professional and knowledgeable and took the time to explain some of the features of the fireplace to promote the most efficient fire. I would gladly invite Pratt's out again and would not hesitate to recommend them to friends and family, whom I'm sure would be just as delighted by their straightforward service.

I ended up doing the crown myself and an hvac company installed the liner and a new high efficiency hot water heater for the same price altogether. Pratt seem to know their stuff but all three companies never did actually look down the chimney to see that there was going to be a problem installing the liner because the origional bricks were not done correctly and created an offset. So the lesson I guess I would stress is an estimate needs some real looking to see what needs to be done.

. After all the snowfall, then quick melt, my husband and I noticed the fireplace in our new home was leaking!! What the heck!! Since this was on a Sunday, we put 5 gallon buckets in the fireplace and called Pratts on Monday. They were able to send someone out the very next day for a free estimate. Upon further review from Steve, the owner, he advised the problem was due to corrosion on the chimney base and would need to be replaced. Steve explained how this is best done in the spring when the temps are right for proper sealing and weatherproofing. Steve resealed the flashings for a temporary fix till spring, and advised he would apply the $99 paid today toward the replacement of $525 in the spring. Pratts arrived on time, was professional and explained the problem in detail. Additionally, Pratt's have been the ONLY service men our dog has liked and allowed to pet!! :)

I called their office and talked to Angie to schedule the work to be done. I also asked her if she knew how long the work would take and she told me 4-5 hours. John and another technician arrived on time and were very professional. They used a tarp on the ground to catch all debris from the demolition of the old chimney which left the work site emaculate. They ran the new piping to the basement and made all connections to the water heater and furnace. Looks really nice. They tested the new system to be sure that the installation was airtight and they were right on the first time.They completed the demolition/installation in 4 hours and at the quoted price. I was very pleased with every aspect of this experience.
