Description of Work: Basement Remodel project started 12 years ago by McCoy and completed by another contractor two years later. A Large part of the wall and ceiling framing McCoy did was not according to the plan we had discussed. One wall had to be reframed because the inspector would not approve it and they did do that reframing. McCoy said they would correct all the out-of-plan work that they had done at their own cost but never did after a year of discussing. We hired another tradesman who took out all the McCoy work that was contrary to our plan, and rebuilt the basement to our plan within 6 months.

Description of Work: Replaced the drain tile along two walls in the inside and one wall on the outside. Also, they waterproofed one wall on the outside.

 + -1 moreThe representative from McCoy did communicate to me that even though he was not clear as to where the water was coming from, the work he would perform would take care of the water in the basement. Guaranteed. As any consumer would, I called another basement specialist for a second estimate. John Voight, a representative from B Dry, came to provide me such estimate. Mr. Voight asked many questions and was not comfortable giving me an estimate without knowing the reason why I was getting water in my basement. Thanks to John's investigative approach he was able to determine that the water was not coming from outside of the house but from a clogged laundry tub. The regeneration of water from the water softener and iron filter every morning at 2am was too much for the clogged tub. NO BASEMENT PROBLEM! THIS COULD HAVE COST ME $7,0000.00 AND A BIG SCAR MARK IN THE BASEMENT FLOOR, WHICH COULD BE A DEAL BREAKER WHEN SELLING A HOUSE IN WISCONSIN. P.S. The work would have cost $2,500.
Description of Work: Even though McCoy contractors did not perform repairs in my basement they did charge me $500.00 to determine the reason for water being in my basement. The process involves a visual inspection of the basement and drilling out two areas of the basement floor to make a visual inspection of the tile system. After the cement floor holes were cemented back an explanation is given as to how the issue will be corrected. An estimate for $7,000.00 was then provided to me.

 + -1 moreFrom the cost estimator through the general manager of the project, to the workers, themselves, everyone was very thorough, considerate and professional plus they guarantee their work. This is very important in today's world.
Description of Work: Basement walls(foundation) had small leaks due to clogged drain tiles which were over fifty years old.

 + -1 moreTHEIR ESTIMATE WAS A COUPLE OF THOUSAND DOLLARS HIGHER THAN WHAT WE GOT FROM SEVERAL OTHER CONTRACTORS. MIKE W.'S APPROACH WAS A 'HARD SELL' AND HE TRIED TO GUILT US INTO EXTRA REPAIRS NO ONE ELSE HAD SUGGESTED. HE KEPT TELLING US WE HAD A 'BIG PROBLEM'--WE WERE ALREADY AWARE.

 + -1 moreI JUST DECIDED ON A DIFFERENT COMPANY THAT COULD PROVIDE THE SAME SERVICE AT A LOWER COST. BOB HEITEL WAS VERY PERSONABLE AND HELPFUL OFFERING ME OTHER OPTIONS TO CONSIDER WHICH I APPRECIATED AS WELL.
Description of Work: I NEEDED TO HAVE A WINDOW WELL DUG OUT, A DRAIN TILE INSTALLED AND THE WELL FILLED WITH STONE. THIS WOULD HAVE INCLUDED CLEAN UP AS WELL.
