They came out listened to my concerns and looked at the drain tile test that was already done. I believe since there was mud in 1 hole, the other hole was clear & the waster was coming in between the 2, they went right to needing to redo part of my drain tile. He never went out side or looked in the cut out part of the wall in that same area. The problem I had with that is I had 2 people out prior and they did look outside and they found a crack in the outer wall... And it turns out that it was a crack in my wall that needed to be fixed and drain tile just needed to be flushed out. I felt rather taken and feeling like a dumb woman.... I won't be calling them again.

Robert came to check out the situation. He honestly told me that we didn't have a problem in our basement. We should check out the furnace/AC etc. We did a regular tune up to the furnace. And the problem is fixed. We appreciate Robert's honest professional opinion!!

McCoy Contractors were prompt, cheerful & courteous from the sales personal to the installation crew. The installers placed 4' x 8' plywood sheets on the lawn as to not damage the grass from the repeated use of their front loader and back hoe machines. The work inside and outside the house was done very professionally. Any questions we had were answered to our satisfaction. Would definitely recommend McCoy Contractors for your basement waterproofing.

It went very well. The work they performed was excellent. In mid November 2014 we had some serious water leakage in the basement. We found McCoy Contractors online and called them. They responded and were at our home within 24 hours. Bob D. assessed the situation using diagrams of the drainage system in basements to illustrate the problem and the repairs required. Foreman Mark along with Jeremy, Luke, Al, and Scott fixed the drain tile problem that caused the leakage. They were experienced, efficient, prompt, clean, and thorough. We could not be happier with the results! McCoy also provides a long term warranty on their work. Do not hesitate to contact them.

The company was pretty responsive. When I called for an appointment they came out right away. I did not like the way the salesman cut down the other bids I already had, show how good you are, not how bad somebody else is. I did not like that the salesman called me dear. The starting date was an estimate, I understood this because they have to deal with the weather. When they started the job, the workers pretty much ignored me, they were not unfriendly but they were not friendly either. They did change the job twice after the bid. One change was that they were not going to replace my original block like they indicated because it was larger than normal, current block size. Amazingly, even though they did not replace 6 feet of brick, there was no price adjustment. The second change was that the drain tile that was previously installed was above the foundation and they would have to dig me a new sump pump crock. This cost me an extra $2,000 with the plumbing and electric. I feel they should have told me about this ahead of time as the first thing the salesman did when he entered my basement was to say "I see you had XXX do this before, they never go down to the foundation". They should have known this would be an issue that might come up and warned me about it ahead of time. The slope of my yard is toward the house and the concrete they installed slopes away. This forms a "V" where water pools when it rains. I feel they should have installed some stone to help drain the water away, the foreman said that was not necessary. The water still pools there when it rains and I assume it will pool there when snow melts. It is not near the house but is still an annoyance. After the job was done, I had to call them back because the lay of the cement lead the water away from a drain instead of towards the drain. They fixed this issue. I also had to call them to fix my asphalt parking area as the heavy machinery tore up a very large section. They fixed this issue. It has been six months since the basement was finished, the basement is dry so far but I have seen a couple cracks in the new sidewalk - between the panels.
Description of Work: They dug up the area outside the basement and laid new and regraded the concrete. They also dug up an area inside the basement and redid the inner drainage system.

I found the workers to be on time, as neat as they could be for a very messy job. I found the subcontractors they used for the plumber and electrician were really good. They village building inspector was requesting to move all the pipes from the sump pump which would have cost me thousands more. McCoy and the Plumber worked hard to prove the inspector wrong so that they could use the existing pipe. I will be forever grateful.

It went very smooth for such a large project. The team was lead by Mark who was with them for the full 2 and 1/2 weeks. The entire crew was hard working and very professional. I immediately had a felling of trust and gave them the code to my home when i was not there. Mark took the time every day to update me on what they had done and what they would be doing. The Project Manager Bob was also available if needed. The scheduling of the job was delayed due to weather and other conditions. Dan McCoy personally sent me a card apologizing for the delay and even included a $25 gift card from Pick n save. When i asked other if they knew of any foundation repair companies, they all told me McCoy. They said you may find a cheaper contactor but that you get what you pay for. My two Labs liked the team also. They are a good judge of people's character. Great job McCoy and team.

We had them in 2008 and there was a lot of flooding in Wisconsin and there was a lot of water in our basement. When McCoy came in they wanted a lot of money and said that they were going to dig half way down and put drainage pipes in to try and get the water out. And further research was done and we found out that that wouldn't have done any good for us at that point. I kind of stay away from them because they came when we had such a disaster and pressured us close to $50,000 to fix it. My husband was standing in a whole foot of water in the basement and they were pushing the contract at him, and my husband said this was wrong and didn't sign it. Now I'm going by the word of other basement specialists now who are saying that that wouldn't have fixed it. So I feel great that we didn't go through with it.

My experience was pretty bad actually. He quoted me around $24,000. He came across as this really hard sell and it was like he knew everything and nobody else knew anything. I knew a few things about it and what he was telling me was not accurate. Everything was poised words; you have to pay more to get a better job. I ended up getting the job done for less than what he quoted and got a really good job. He did answer my questions but not to my satisfaction.

Used McCoy to provide estimate for walls that had cracked and showed signs of tilting. The first firm I called took careful measurements using laser measuring devices. They advised that I did not need to excavate, but only reinforce the walls. When McCoys showed up, they told me I need to excavate two walls and straighten WITHOUT MEASURING anything. Eyeballed it. After I questioned if he would measure, he went to his vehicle and got a Level out and seemed to measure something and said yep, excavate. I did not feel this was a professional estimate. The eventual estimate was higher than others and based on methods used to obtain it. I did not use them.

Things turned out well. They did a good job. We have had some recent leakage that was weather dependent.
Description of Work: They had to excavate a wall and straighten a wall in our basement. They then refilled the excavation and waterproofed our basement.
They started in December and finished in February. They seemed to do a good job. They were the highest bid I got but they did the most complete service. The other companies I got bids from talked about only digging down to the cracks and not digging any further. McCoy dug all the way down around to the footings and put on a coating to help seal it. They also patched all the stones and put topsoil on that. It was twice the price but they did twice the work the first time instead of half the job at half the price like other estimates I got. They did a more complete job. There was not a sump pump there before. They put in stone where there had been clay when they put the topsoil on. The topsoil had really sunk and I called them two weeks later and they responded right away and put in more topsoil. I wouldn't use them again because we moved to Texas and we don't have basements here.
Description of Work: I used McCoy Contractors to do the whole basement. They reinforced the walls and sealed in the cracks. They also put in a sump pump and the drains around there so they dug down to the basement footings.

The representative who came to our house was pleasant, but seemed very willing to increase the size and cost of the project by adding anything we suggested without any apparent thought. Company did NOT recommend evaluation of outside drainage as is universally recommended. The company we eventually chose identified a crumbling wall as a major problem and included the repair cost in its estimate (which was $3,000 less than McCoy's) In retrospect the contract from McCoy only covered "evaluating the cracked wall"; I suspect (without any proof) that when the real state of the wall was discovered we would have been billed an additional $5,000 for its repair. Note: have submitted this review under McCoy Contractors. There is also a separate "McCoy's" under basement waterproofers with a different address and phone number and a C rating. The phone # for "McCoy's" is the same as that on the website for McCoy Contractors. They appear to be the same company - shouldn't their listings be combined?
Description of Work: We received an estimate for repair of our wet basement of 17,000 and placed a 1,000 deposit. We developed serious misgivings about the company and canceled the job, forfeiting our deposit.

Initially, the process went extremely well. McCoy was quick to come out, give an estimate, and perform the work quickly. However, the job is not complete, 2 months after they started, and they are not returning my phone calls or otherwise attempting to solve my issue. I have been calling constantly trying to get my screen delivered. They have promised on multiple occasions to deliver this screen, but have not shown up and are now not returning my calls. They had no problem accepting my full payment immediately, but they definitely have not lived up to their end of the bargain. The work they performed could have been much better, as well. Overall, I regret ever using this contractor.

I had Charles Weber Consulting inspect my basement before hiring McCoy. Therefore, I knew I was looking at around $13,500 for the basic work. The stoop was an extra $1,500. Thankfully, Mc Coy told me I did not need new interior drain tile (after I had hired them). I had to pay for the permit, and any complications such as electrical or plumbing work would have been on my dime. Mike Wilhelm had done some grading work for me 10 years before; he and his son even came out and dug up some shrubs. I felt he was an honest guy, and that went a long way with me. I signed the contract about 8 weeks before the work was done. The work took 5 days, and they did work. I worked from home several half days, to be around. They made every effort to accommodate my neighbor, on whose yard they had to drive the backhoe. Everything was put back the way they found it. They are experienced, and they know what they are doing. Todd was the foreman, and he is very experienced and knowledgeable.
Description of Work: Excavated two basement walls to footings. Removed front stoop. Straightened walls as well as possible. Repaired cracks on walls, inside and outside. Reinforced walls with interior structural steel columns. Re-waterproofed walls. Opened Palmer valve. Tested interior drain tile. Installed new exterior drain tile. Installed footings for new front stoop down to house footing. Backfilled walls with stone, filter fabric, and top soil. Re-poured new front stoop. Guaranteed the work for 10 years.
