In preparation of the sale of our home we wanted to fix a few minor things for the new owners. John was very responsive, professional and knowledgable throughout the whole (brief) process. He came when he said he would for the estimate as well as the day of the work. He worked outside in the freezing temperatures when others would have rescheduled. He even told us how to fix something ourselves when he could've potentially made more money, but that sort of service will come back around to more than make up for it because now we will tell more people. And importantly, the actual work all looks good! We will call John again.

The gentleman didn't have the years of experience, he's a younger fella but he understood the work very well. He explained what he was gonna do, he showed us pictures of what he had done and he was very willing to work with us on timing because we liked to get this done in spring if we can. He's excellent guy.

Great, scheduling was complicated due to weather and the need for it to be warm enough to not crack the siding. John kept up with the reschedules and made sure to come out as soon as possible. He fixed the exteriors (original installation flaws from the builder) and took pictures so we could see what went wrong and how it was repaired so we have a record. Then he came in and re- caulked the interiors and primed over some light water stains. Very polite and did his best not to disturb us (we were at home).

John was great about getting out to give me an estimate and written quote by email. Once we had agreed on a price and set a start date, John was very good about coordinating when he was going to arrive and keep me informed about his progress and issues as they arose. John kept an extremely clean work site and worked diligently, no matter the heat or the issues he ran into. I would definitely work with John and Kirch Improvements again.

John was great - we had many issues coordinating with other vendors. This was an urgent service as dictated by our homeowners insurance; I called other providers who could not help turn the project around as quickly as we needed it done. We called John's office on a Sunday, spoke to somebody and he came out on a Monday. Less than a week later, despite freezing temperatures, the railing was installed and looks great! John coordinated all of this while we were out of town, and emailed pictures that evening! Hoping we have another project Kirch can help with in the future!

John was exactly on time to look at our job, give us an estimate and he showed up the day he said at the time he said! Did a great job! Really impressed with his work. We anticipated needing to replace boards on deck as they were nailed down and figured he would struggle to get them up. Apparently it was no problem. Liked his solution to the chronic animal problem under our deck! Will use again.

I can not say enough about this company. They were extremely easy to deal with and when I had a problem with the gutter extensions they were very prompt and more than generous with their solution.

The project went great. I was continually impressed with John Kirch's knowledge. I'd ask him questions and he always knew the answer, even when the questions were "weird." It was almost like I was trying to "stump" him, but I never did. He has knowledge of a wide range of building products and services. He told me of a sheet rock paint texturizer which has sand in it, rather than using the spray, which I cannot manage. He told me that the "plastic, expensive" wood-looking planks I used as steps needed to have black asphalt strips on them to prevent slipping. I asked him about my weatherstripping, and he told me there was nothing I needed. John chose great quality doors!!! His office worker, who also was very nice, made an appt. with me and she brought out samples of the fiber cement to match with my existing cedar siding. The match is perfect. The men who worked with him were unfailingly polite. I've never had such polite men work on my house. One man smoked, and he would walk down the road a little to smoke so there wouldn't be smoke in my yard. They were very personable and dog lovers (I have two dogs.) We compared photos. The work was done in the time limit specified, any emails with questions were answered immediately, and I will choose John Kirch and his company for my roof, which I need shingled next year. Surprisingly, it was a non-pressure job. You could hear the men double checking their measurements before they cut the fiber cement siding, but it was calm and not rushed. There was no blaring music, no music at all. It was a quiet, efficient, "no drama" project, which I greatly appreciated. John is very laid-back and he'll think before he gives you an answer, but his answer is always "right on." He is also a very "nice" man.

John, the owner of the company, did all of the work himself. He closely matched the cedar that he repaired and fastened everything with screws. He also painted the new wood with paint that I furnished. He found some additional rotted sections of the deck railing and repaired them at no additional cost. The workmanship was excellent and the deck looks as good as new. He arrived right on time for both the estimate and the repair work. I definately plan on using him for other projects.

This is a small, family-owned business and you can probably find a better bargain basement deal somewhere else, but you're unlikely to get better service than with Kirch. Jon and his wife handle all the correspondence and all responses were returned within an hour, usually within a few minutes. There were no high pressure sales techniques, no insistence on up-selling or any annoying salesman type behavior. They went the extra step of taking time to attend our condo association's meeting to help get us approval. When the windows were installed, Jon is personally onsite, including doing installation himself. The fact that the owner of the company does the installation gave us peace of mind that we might not have had otherwise.

Used him for siding work and door frame repair.

He did fix the panels below the patio door that had warped and were bulging out and making the patio door hard to open. Also replaced interlocking weatherstripping. After all was completed my door still was not opening right. He came back but not at the scheduled time of appt. and fixed the problem somewhat. The new weatherstripping is folding over like the old weatherstripping was but the door is opening better. The material that he used to fix the panels may be the cause of the weatherstripping catching - it is just a very tight fit there. So far the panels are holding up. I had other work done on them before and the work that was previously done didn't last. I was given a $75 Facebook discount.

Working with Kirch was such a pleasure. From the ease of scheduling, the information I received during the estimate process to the actual work being done, it was remarkably well done. The balcony off of my second floor master suite was not installed properly and I noticed a leak in the living room window underneath. The man who came for the estimate (I can't remember his name - that's terrible) was so friendly and professional. He offered several options, asked about my preferences and I received a very fair price by email 2 days later. At my request, they confirmed appointments by email which made it easy to update my calendar and arrange work appointments around when I needed to be home. I thought the cost was very reasonable and the work was done efficiently and is of high quality. The team kept me updated on progress through the 2 day job, kept my yard and house completely clean at the end of the day and was a real pleasure to have around. Kirch will absolutely be my contractor of choice for future work - I highly recommend working with them.

OUTSTANDING!!! We were not exactly sure what we wanted on the new deck, John and Steve were very understanding and offered many solutions to help us come to our final decision. When we finally settled on a deck, John came out and explained exactly what was going to be done and answered all of our questions and concerns. EVERYTHING went smoothly with no issues or problems, John and his crew showed up each day, if there was going to be an issue John called and let us know when they were going to arrive. EXTREMELY SATISIFIED WITH THEIR PROFESSIONALISM, COURTESY, HONESTY, AND BUILDING EXPERISE!! We have him scheduled for another project next year, our contractor go to guy!!!!!

I left a message on provider's voicemail the week of August 12 and never received a return phone call.

This is such a small job, that I thought no one would want to be bothered. I called kirch and they were here within 3 hours. John had the, problem fixed within half and hour. I plan to use him again and on some bigger jobs as well.

John was not only the salesman, with many options of decking, but also the installer, so he knew first hand about the products. He suggested designs and changes that worked out well. We communicated via email (my request) and he kept me informed of progress and any problems, (e.g., waiting for inspections). The job went well with no complaints, and the deck looks great.

I purchased a Big Deal for $200 to inspect and repair siding and gutters. John Kirch contacted me the next day to schedule an initial appointment. In addition to the Big Deal, I got an estimate for the additional work of installing a new windowing and fixing my rotted deck--which was sent just a few days later. Siding inspection and repair: My siding was installed just a year ago, but there was already a loose piece from over the winter, so I definitely wanted to have it all checked out. Thankfully it was just that 1 piece that was loose. Because the needed repair was fairly minimal, John offered to install some needed aluminum trim around my patio doors as part of the already paid $200 from the Big Deal. Window: I had a new replacement vinyl slider window installed. I ordered the window through John and the quality of the window is really nice and has a lifetime glass replacement warranty from the company. Additionally John installed new trim around the window to cover the caulk and it looks great. Tarp was laid down to contain any dusk or mess and everything was cleaned up--other than a nice new window, I couldn't tell work was even done in the room! Deck: I have a large 20x20ft deck and many of the wood boards were quite rotted and needed to be replaced. John had an assistant help with this project. After the top boards were removed, it was found that some of the support boards were rotted too. So John repaired the support boards as well--for no additional charge. Everything was cleaned up and removed from my property. During the inspection before they left, I saw some loose nails in the gutters. Since the siding and gutter inspection/repair was the initial reason I hired Kirch, I did ask John to fix it. It was 7pm and he had been working since 9:30am that morning. But even after the long day, he took the ladder back out of the truck, and climbed onto the roof to finish inspecting and repairing the gutters. There was no complaining, including no non-verbal complaints about staying even later. I specifically mention this because there are very, very few other contractors/companies that I have hired in the past that would have been that professional and not made me, as the customer, feel bad about this end of day project. I would definitely hire Kirch Improvements again for any and all exterior house projects.

He's a nice guy. He came out looked over some stuff discussed with us what was to be done. He seemed like he knew what he was doing.

We were referred to John from another contractor who did some our landscaping. John was very quick to respond to our email and stopped at our home the very next day. We received a quick analysis and solution and scheduled the work. To our surprise John showed up within a week later in the evening and worked in the dark with a light on his hat. He was very efficient and did an excellent job. Our gutter problem was solved and we have had no issues since, even with all the heavy rains this spring. I would highly recommend Kirch Improvements.

We had gotten a couple estimates for tearing down the old deck and installing a new deck. We left a message with John and he called back the same day and scheduled a consultation w/I a couple days. We were impressed with his knowledge and ideas he gave us and explanations of the different types of composites. We decided to go with him not only because of the price but because we were impressed with his professionalism. John and his workers started on a Monday and by Friday we had a fantastic new deck. They tore down the old deck and worked efficiently and professionally the entire time they were here. They listened to any questions we had and asked our input on some things. Everything was picked up and left neat. The dumpster was gone the same day they finished. We also had purchased a storm door and John installed that for us. We plan on having a new roof put on in a couple years and will definitely consider John putting on the new roof.
