The provider made an appointment to come over to look at the deck and to make measurements. He was absolutely on time for the appointment, and had books of samples of the kind of railings they were proposing to put on the deck This was.followed up with an estimate. We took a few days to look at some other options, and decided to go with Kirch. They set November 6 as the date of installation, but when things changed for them, they let us know that know that they could do the work earlier. They brought color samples over so that we could pick the color railings we wanted. Then they did the work on October 30. The work was done very well, looks great and is a real asset. There was no mess left behind. They actually swept up some leaves for me that had nothing to do with their work. I would definitely work with this company again.

Hardworking and professional. Worked though bad weather to get job done before snow. Cost related to all Cedar construction, hidden fastener system and stainless screw fasteners. We expect the porch, deck and pergola to outlast us. Well done!

Everything throughout this process went very well. John came out a couple of months ago to give us an estimate and drew up a design for extending our back porch. Initially we thought we would have to work around our electrical service box, so we had created a unique design to "notch" the deck out from the house a couple of feet. We later found out that we could simply add a trap door above the service box and John was able to easily incorporate that change into the design and it actually reduced our cost due to needing less footings for the deck. Initially we didn't think we could get scheduled until after Memorial Day, but the permit process finished up quickly and he was able to fit us in before some of the other jobs (a full month ahead of schedule). John and Jaclyn were able expedite the approval to our HOA and got the designs pushed through in time to start the following week. With a two man crew, they finished all of the work in 2.5 days and everything looks great. This was a job well done and I would certainly use them again for future projects. We have had several neighbors comment on how great the deck looks and how quickly it got done.

We cannot say enough good things about our experience working with Kirch Improvements. We contacted them last summer to do an estimate on five failing deck posts that needed to be reconstructed on our elevated deck. They were very prompt in scheduling the estimate and John took his time to explain all of our options. We ultimately waited to do the project until this spring, after quite a bit of back and forth on our part. John and his wife, Jaclyn, were very helpful, always considerate, and highly responsive to our needs. The work was done in just over a day and John and his crew did an excellent job. Upon starting the project, John discovered the old footings on the deck were done properly, therefore, they did not need to be redone. This led to an $800 reduction in our project cost. We honestly would have never known this and he could have easily not said a word. This is a true demonstration of the level of honesty and the great customer service we received from Kirch Improvements. If you have any decking needs, DO NOT HESITATE to use Kirch Improvements!!

John and his crew were fantastic. I really felt that they had our satisfaction in mind in building the deck. The cost they quoted us was very competitive with other quotes we received and John stands by his work well after his projects are complete. He and his crew were very thorough and diligent to ensure our needs were met.

It went really well. The garage trim fix was simple enough. John and his team replaced the rotted wood and then wrapped the trim in aluminum. The 2nd piece of this project was unique. We have 2 bump outs that hang over the side of the house and they were never properly enclosed by the last home owner. John replaced some of the rotted wood, installed new cedar siding where it was necessary, and then he enclosed the bottom side of the bump outs with aluminum soffit. It was a tight space to work in and it took some creativity and a few runs to get more materials, because it was a unique project. I appreciate John's willingness to take this project on. I'm going to have him come back to install a new front door and will definitely use Kirch Improvements again in the future.

He was an amazing young man. While walking around he said, "You don't need to re-do all of it. Some of that is in fine shape. Most of it is in fine shape. Why don't I just fix the parts that are bad. We'll replace all of that and I'll replace that siding for you and just fix that. You don't have to fix the whole thing." And, that did it for me. He came back and he was very honest with how busy he was because I talked to him first at least a couple of months ago. But, he said he would do it. He fixed it all. I haven't had a squirrel since. He fixed my siding and it looks like new. He is a real dedicated worker. I thought it was very very fair priced. I had no problems with this man. He was honest. I knew that he was busy. He never let me down in the past.

The owner John and his crew are excellent workers. They are on time precise and neat .John was the lowest bidder on this but also the most informative in regard to material and design options. John is very a patient listener and was able to adapt our concerns on a few things into the project. I found him to be very detailed and quality orientated. He found some low spots in the existing sub structure and made sure they were level before installing the new decking. The project took 2 days and John and his crew worked the first day in a light rain. This is a small family owned company that gives you superlative workmanship at a very fair price.

We experienced a few hiccups with the project timeline, attributed to both weather and staffing challenges. At some points communication was great, at others, I felt like we were chasing down information after not seeing or hearing from anyone for several days at a time. That said, we are happy with the end result and have been enjoying our new outdoor living space this summer!

John Kirch responded promptly when I asked for an estimate. I was given many options as far as materials and costs. I was given an estimated start on my project and work began promptly. All the workers were friendly, skilled professionals and I was amazed at their efficiency. John was also very pleasant about some changes we wanted after the start of the project. All in all it was a fantastic project and everyone is raving about my new deck. I couldn't be happier and highly recommend them.

We had several quotes from other companies to fix a leak where the source was not known. The other companies all suggested opening up the wall to find the source. John Kirch was the only one to suggest trying a simple fix first to see if that would do the trick. John's simple fix worked and saved us thousands of dollars! Our deck needed repair and painting. The job was done, but not as requested. John immediately replied to my concern about the job and came right over to do the job as we desired. John made things right ASAP at no charge. We are very pleased with the finished product. John is a man of integrity and customer satisfaction is truly his company's first concern. I will use Kirch Improvements LLC again and can highly recommend to others.

We had a delayed start date due to the bitter winter's ground depth freeze and a hiccup with the building permits getting pulled on time, but after that all was great. John and his crew did an outstanding job on everything, and were very professional and friendly during the entire process. I also appreciated that John was very apologetic about the delays (which were mostly out of his control), and he did everything possible to make up for it. I could not be happier with the results, and I am enjoying my summer so much more with this new addition to our house. The quality of the work and the look of my deck, patio door, and glass block windows is better than I could have imagined. I will be doing other home improvement projects in the future, and will definitely call Kirch Improvements to have them done.

My initial phone call was answered the same day. Considering the time of year it was and how busy it must be, this was impressive. John also came to the house on time and when he said he would. We wanted a full covered front porch built across the house. Price was an issue and John was very accommodating. He was up front with associated costs and ways to save (including postponing the project until fall). He listened to all of our ideas and really paid attention. After our initial meeting, he returned an estimate via email. Again, considering this brutal winter an how busy contractors are, it was very timely. After changing the size and other discussions, we decided that this season wasn't the time to do this job. John was extremely understanding and encouraged us to make the right decision based on our needs. I got the impression, he truly wanted the best for us. This was very refreshing from a contractor. We will be saving up more money to do this job and Kirch Improvements will be our only call.

Everything was effortless from our first meeting through completion. John and his crew were very professional and completed our deck ahead of schedule. We will be recommending John to our family and friends and we are already planning our next project with him.

The provider John, was very nice. He was suppose to come at 5:30pm, but called and said he was running late on his current job location. He said he would call me when he was done. He called and came at 7:00pm. He installed the screen in the door and was done quickly. Very nice and a very reasonable charge. Very pleased with the experience.

John was great, he answered all my questions before I even asked. The porch looks so amazing that I'm going to have Kirch do the back porch as well. I should have done this years ago and John was the best!

Updating our deck turned out to be a much bigger job than my husband and I had anticipated. John and his crew cleaned up and finished what we had started. They did a great job. They reused as much material as they could, which kept our costs down. Weather delayed us by a couple of days, but John and his crew offered to come on the weekend to finish it up. After they left there were a few things I wanted them to finish up and John was more than willing to come back (on a Sunday) and finish for us. He even did a few small repairs that were outside of what we had asked him to do. This is an extremely easy company to work with and they have excellent customer service. I love looking at my deck now. I would use this company again and would recommend them to anyone without hesitation.

Our old front porch was in a very sorry state and needed to be completely replaced. John scheduled a time to come out and take a look at a time around my work schedule. He was friendly, easy going, and knowledgeable. A day or two later he emailed us a very reasonable quote. Some other contractors were coming in with prices over double! Based on the price, all the good reviews we read, his friendly personality, and his responsiveness to email communication (it amazed me how some other contractors never even replied to my initial emails), we decided to go with Kirch Improvements. The job was scheduled to start on a Tuesday, but John emailed and said they were ahead of schedule and could begin demolition on Monday if that was OK with me. Absolutely it was! It was even raining that Monday so I was surprised when I came home that evening to see the old porch was already completely gone! Then on Tuesday when I got home I was even more surprised to see that the porch was already virtually finished! They eventually wrapped up on Wednesday morning. We were very impressed with the way they just got down to business and took care of everything and of course the very nice results as well. Everything looks very solid and well constructed. The whole process was just super easy. The final price matched the original estimate exactly, so that was very nice as well. Definitely very satisfied with the results of our first ever major home remodeling project. We have a bunch of other work we need to have done and after this experience with Kirch Improvements, they will be the first ones we contact to get estimates on those projects.

We received several quotes from other contractors and decided to go with Kirch based on John's knowledge and attention to detail with this type of work. John and his wife were both great to work with and addressed all our questions and concerns in a timely fashion. We had the deck installed in October, 2013 (about 6 months ago), waited to write review to see how well the deck held up after this last REAL Wisconsin winter and it looks as good as the day it was installed. I had a few concerns using AZEK decking vs other materials but after all the shoveling and salt this winter those were put to rest. In all it was a excellent experience in all aspects, would recommend and hire Kirch improvements again in the future.

I truly appreciate John K.'s service in different ways: (1) on-time, he and his wife always return calls/emails (2) having a written contract/quote before service (3) explained well what to be done (4) during the work, there was extra work for John and his crew. He did not stop his work to complaint. Actually he finished all the work and told me later something was done with extra effort. Even so, he did not charge the extra cost. (5) being honest: he evaluated another job we may need for the house. He honestly told me his firm may not be able to handle it due to the age/structure of the house etc. He did not try to take/start the work and charge extra in the middle of the work. (6) I can see he takes his firm's reputation very seriously. He builds up good reputation using his best service (7) again, he is on-time, always returning calls/emails

He is SO knowledgable on a variety of topics. We appreciate that once again he was willing to talk us through a few small DIY projects to save money, even though we asked him do the projects anyway. His prices are fair and quality is high. He is professional and has great communication in terms of response to an inquiry and updating you on the day of your appointment. We have recommended John to several friends already.

Really well. The owner John communicated right away and we had no problem arranging the work. He emailed photos of a crack repair as well. We were so impressed that we hired him for subsequent work on a rusty porch support. Very satisfied.
