SPS Roofing Systems

We chose them because they were on Angie's List. I would use them again in the future. I would give them A's in all areas.

I chose this company based on good reviews on Angie's List. Overall, I was fairly happy with them, but there are a few things they could have done to make it an outstanding experience. I got the quote and sent back the signed quote/contract with half down as requested on 8/17/11. The understanding was that I wanted it done ASAP, and I was told it would be about 3 weeks, via reply via email on 8/18/11. Shingles came around end of September. Sat there for about two weeks. I emailed again, asking when we would get our roof. Was told on 10/10/11 "this week". Then they emailed again that same week saying that due to the weather might not be that week, but that they would keep us posted. 10/21/11 I emailed again and asked when they were gonna do the roof, and was told they would be there Mon Oct 24, which DID happen. They got the job done in a few days. Cleaned up pretty well. Only problem was a piece of flashing went through an awning over our back porch and put a hole in it. In retrospect, we should have put the awning up, not something we thought of, they could have done it too.

It went very well. They were very personal and detailed with their estimate. Also their estimate was spot on.

Quick to get me an estimate. Once downpayment and color choice was made, the roof was installed within 2 weeks. Some delay in installing the new gutters. They did a great job in cleaning up. I asked for the final bill to be e-mailed and they did so in a timely fashion.

I spoke to a live person with this company twice -- the first call I was asked to leave a message with their estimator (which I did immediately) and the second call (a week later) I was told their estimator would contact me. Both times I felt like they were more interested in my insurance information than getting the job done. I finally heard back from their estimator five days after my second call (after another company had already completed the repair). I certainly will not be using this company when I replace my roof next spring.

We have a commercial building with standing seam metal roof that leaked under certain conditions, especially during winter. Had attempted to patch many times without success. SPS Roofing solved problem by placing insulation between seams and covering with rubber membrane. Work was done promptly, professionally and according to plan. Completely solved problem with the added benefit of reducing heating costs.

They seemed friendly and seemed to know what they were talking about as far as details in roofing. It took them a little longer than to get back to me with the quote what I expected for them. They are actually very good in detail and all that stuff.

Mr. Nick Thomas, from SRS Roofing, performed the work in less time than we had anticipated. His crew had the right equipment and a great attitude.

Overall, the work on my wife's and my house took three days and the work on my mother's house took one day. On day one there were 6 SPS workers who completely stripped our roof and cleaned up every last piece of debris. I felt good that it wasn't one or two workers taking several days to get the job done. On day two the new roof went on. Again, there were a half dozen workers and they put in a good 12 hours on that second day. When it rained that night we were greatful that SPS had seen the importance of getting the roof on as quickly as they did. In spite of the fact that it was dark when they finally left, every last piece of debris was picked up. The new gutters were installed on the third and they honored every request that I had made to correct some previous gutter issues that we had. My wife and I also took advantage of a great SPS offer and we installed gutter guards which have worked flawlessly. The siding job was completed in one day and my mother, who is not easy to please, was thrilled by the quality of the work performed by SPS. SPS exceeded our expectations and we would strongly recommend them.

Our overall experience with SPS was excellent. I had noticed earlier in the spring that the shingles on our house were starting to curl. In doing research I determined that the shingles were defective and contacted several different roofers to get quotes. Most of the roofers were only interested in whether or not the replacement of the roof would be covered by insurance or not. Nick from SPS came over to the house and was very helpful. He explained what was wrong with the shingles that we currently had, innformed me of a recall that had been done on the shingles and offered to assist us in contacting the shingle company. He provided us with a variety of offerings from SPS and his quote was very detailed and consise. After contracting with SPS to do the job, Nick dropped off several different variety of shingles for us to review. A variety of color and manufacturers gave us a great opportunity to decide exactly what we wanted. The roofing material arrived about two days before the crew arrived. It was placed neatly in an area near the house. The work crew arrived at 07:00 am to start work. They were very polite and contacted us prior to starting work. The crew worked quickly and efficently and very hard. Temperatures were in the 80's on the days they worked and they worked until 7:30 or 8:00 pm. A 12 hour day working on the roof is incredible. As an added plus they cleaned up before leaving each day. They swept and picked up all roofing material around the house. The next day they were onsite again for 10 hours. After removing both roofs it was found that several of the plywood boards of the roof and around the chimney had to be replaced due to rot, and that extended the amount of time it took to put the new roof on. Reuben and his team were great people. They went out of their way to make sure that the job was done right. Once they completed the roof, Reuben walked me around the house to show me what had been done and made some suggestions for possible repairs on the siding. He and Nick really made me appreciate that we had gone with SPS Roofing Systems. I was impressed by the professional approach that this company took to the job. Additionally the quote that Nick provided was exactly what we were charged to do the job. No hidden extras or increases in price once the job was completed. I will defintely recommend them to others and plan on using them when we do the siding on our house.

We reported a leak in our roof in the morning. A member of the team came the same day. Inspected the roof and identified the problem. He explained the problem, dried and cracked rubber around the fan vent. We had him fix the problem on the same visit. No more leaking!

It was a pleasure to work with Nick at SPS Roofing Systems. He was timely, courteous and professional. I can't say that about the other three roofing companies that I called for estimates. The job was to reroof my entire business and that entailed working with my electrician, HVAC and refrigeration guys as this equipment was on the existing roof . Nick did a great job of coordinating all the work that had to be done by each person. Everyone that I met that worked for SPS was as nice and helpful as you could ask for. I would not hesitate to hire them again for any roofing needs! Great job SPS!

We had a hail storm in July of 2010 and Nick Thomas inspected our roof to determine if we needed an insurance adjuster to inspect the damage. Nick took the time to meet with the adjuster on our roof and facilitated the adjuster's decision. After we received our settlement, Nick again, took the time and contacted our insurance company to discuss the details of their decision. We trusted Nick and SPS Roofing completely and allowed them to replace our roof when we were gone for the Labor Day weekend. Everthing was perfect when we came home and there were even little extra things that were done that we didn't expect.

They did everything they said they were going to do quite carefully. I will definitely have them come back to do more work.

We had serious hail damage on our house earlier this year. After I received an estimate from our insurance company I had one out-of-town and one local contractor look at the damage. Wanting another local contractor I subscribed to Angies List and selected SPS Roofing Systems to give me a quote. They were there within hours. I was immediately impressed with their level of customer service and their expertise. They found errors in the insurance estimate, and I told them that I wanted them to deal with the insurance company to make it right. They did that, but they also proved to the insurance company that we not only needed siding on two sides of the house, but all four sides, as well as new gutters. They also gave us upgraded shingles, better material under the shingles and better quality garage doors. They negotiated a 60% increase over what the insurance company was originally going to pay. I was extremely satisfied with their level of communication during the project and in the overall customer service attitude. The quality of the workmanship was very good, and in many cases better than the original construction. They told me they would make adjustments to the work until I was perfectly satisfied - and I was. I would highly recommend this company. APRIL 2011 UPDATE. We had storm damage this spring as did the whole community. Some of the fascia on the front of the house blew off. I called Nick and he sent his men out a few days later and they repaired it at no charge. That is GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!

I have and old 1870's home with a partial flat roof that was leaking, Called Nick Thomas from SPS he was here the next day. We got other estimates from other roofing companies for between $3000 and $4000 for the same job Nicks was only $750.00 great price for the job after all it was only a portion of the roof not the whole thing. The job was completed within 2 weeks but because of all the rainy day it took a while to put on the trim but we have no more leaks. Very professional job we are very happy!!!! Thanks NIck

We had problems with our roof leaking before, when ice built up on the roof, then it warmed up quickly and started leaking from the roof through our home office ceiling, ruining one of our laptops. A contractor at that time wanted to sell us heating coils to melt the ice to the tune of thousands. We resisted. This has been an extremely rainy June. Fortunately, when the rains started this June, we did not loose any more computers. We called several roofers and SPS was the first to show up. They gave a very convincing sales pitch about the quality of their work. We were impressed and hired them before listening to any other roofers. They came on the first non-rainy day and completed the work in a few hours. Since then we have had more rain but no leaks. So far so good.

This team was committed to this project, providing continual follow up throughout the project. Through the bid process they took the time to help me understand the important elements of the job and provided resources to help fairly evaluate their bid. Final price was competitive with other bids received. Timing was important for this project and the team worked hard to complete the project early, and on budget. The team was very courteous and kept us appraised of the job progress and identified potential inconveniences before they happened allowing time to address them (e.g. moving cars out of garage so that delivery vehicles would not trap them in, understanding sleeping schedule to make sure they did not wake up our young daughter in the morning, advising us to call satellite TV provider to schedule service call to fine tune reception...before they removed the dish from the roof) We were very happy with the service provided by this company.

Pleased with quality of workmanship. Work was completed with minimal disruption and on schedule. No problem recommending this company.

He was very professional from start to finish...It was a small fee of $25 to come and inspect the roof and make sure it was in good shape...What I was very surprised about was he cleaned my gutters while on top of the roof at no extra charge...I highly recommend SPS roofing...

We feel the project went very well. We honestly can not think of a complaint. They answered all of our questions honestly, professionally, and quickly. The job was finished on schedule within the 2 day time frame. They kept our property clean and organized throughout the entire project. The workers were friendly, curtious, and clearly knew the roofing process. We really like the look of our roof. The quote we were given was completely honored, even though they had to replace many unforeseen wooden boards on the roof of which they did NOT bill us for! I would reconmend this company to anyone!!

Gave prompt service when called for an estimate, scheduled quickly, performed in excellent and expected manner. Will recommend, and use again on other properties.
