o2Pure Air Duct Cleaning

We recently purchased our home on a short sale. It has not been well maintained. Kirk came on time and set up. He had one person with him to help things move quickly. He was very personable with the kids and kind. He made several suggestions about the heating system as well as the water heater to help prolong the life of the already old systems. He warned against the air filters in every vent, since this puts more strain on the furnace. He showed all of the dirt and gunk that he cleaned out--WOW! I would definitely recommend this company.

Kirk and another person arrived promptly and started work on the outside vents, cleaning and vacuuming the lines in the 3 story building. Then Kirk moved to the inside and began each unit. He wore shoe covers which we appreciated. I did think the inside process was going to be to move the dryers and clean out the hoses from the dryer to the wall. Instead each dryer was cleaned out at the face in the dryer only. I should have gathered more information up front to better understand what exactly was going to be done. I don't think these hoses were accessible from the outside. We were disappointed with all the vent lint from the outside that was left behind to blow all over the grounds and for us to clean up. They seemed in a big hurry to get done.

Kirk Nygaard was very knowledgeable and professional. He went above and beyond to schedule with me. He arrived promptly, and vacuumed out the HVAC ducts (as well as the dryer duct). His information went far beyond the basics. He recognized nicotine in the dust/dirt that came out of the ducts, and solved our mystery of why the house was smelling like smoke, when no one is currently a smoker! He was calm and engaging--in the world of home buying/selling, everyone's a bit nervous--we need calm and qualified!! He really saved the day. I have already recommended him to my Realtor colleagues.

Kirk, the owner, was professional on the phone when we enquired about the service, but we were very disappointed with the work provided. We expected a more thorough cleaning job; we found the work to be superficial and rushed. Here are a few reasons why we were dissatisfied with the service: 1. Not all vents were cleaned thoroughly. It appeared that many of the vents were merely vacuumed from the outside without removing the vent registers. We found debris like nails, staples, wood chips and dirt still inside the vents. We expected all registers and intakes to be removed, and the vents cleaned. 2. The furnace filters were not properly cleaned. There were big pieces of dirt still remaining on the filters even after Kirk power air blowed the filters. Some of these dirt could easily be removed by vacuuming the filters. Washing with a cleaning solution and water would have been the proper method. 3. The dryer flexible duct was not properly re-attached to the outside duct causing it detach and fall revealing that NO attempt was made to clean the flexible duct at all -- not even a simple vacuuming job. There was over one cubic foot of dirt that came out of the 6 feet flexible duct. When I called to enquire about the service, Kirk mentioned that the job would take 3.5 to 4 hours. When my wife called to make the appointment, Kirk mentioned that it would take 2.5 hours since he has a helper. Kirk spent no more than 1 hour at our house, ie, from the time he rang our door bell to the time he drove off. Since our house is quite large (over 3000 square feet) and the ducts have not been cleaned in a long time, we feel that it should not take less than half the expected time. We felt that Kirk rushed through the job. If time was an issue, Kirk should not have called us on Thursday to reschedule our job from Friday afternoon to Friday morning. After Kirk left, we found that his work was incomplete and poorly done. My wife and I then spend the next few hours discovering and cleaning up the things that Kirk neglected or did not properly clean. I sent Kirk an email about my disappointment with his work and gave him the opportunity to explain what happened; Kirk neither apologize nor offered an explanation. He offered to return to complete the job. I declined because my wife and I had already spent several hours cleaning what was neglected because we were planning to move that weekend. Kirk then offered to reimburse us, and I told him he can determine what his 1 hour cleaning job was worth and reimburse us the balance. That was over 2 weeks ago and I have not received any reimbursement. I presume Kirk felt that his 1 hour rushed job is worth the full $350 he charged us, even though he told us the job would take 2.5 hours for 2 people. Since Kirk did not offer and explanation on what happened, I felt that Kirk rushed through the job by neglecting some work and superficially cleaning some.

The company O2Pure was contacted and hired to perform the cleaning of the dryer vent on a rental property. The price agreed to perform this duty was $85. As the property is a rental, I couldn't be present at the moment of the work. After they left the property, they called me to explain how did it go and to make the payment. At this moment I learn that they not only cleaned the dryer vent, but also performed a complete air duct cleaning and a furnace cleaning, and that the cost of the service is now $325. After complaining that that was not what we agreed, they charged me $300. I feel that I was mocked and that the person took advantage of the situation that I was not present in the property at the moment of the service. I will never work again with them, and will not recommend them to anybody.

After O2 Pure Air cleaned my duct, they forgot to take one of their equipments in my house, I had to chase after them to take the equipment with them. After they have left, I found they forgot to clean one of the vents, so had to arrange they to come back to clean the vent, it was very inconvenient since I had to stay home to wait for them. However they did perform well at cleaning the duct.

I cannot say enough positive things about O2. The were prompt and cleaned my dryer vent and ducts. They took the time to make sure my carpets and floors were protected when bringing in their equipment and gave me advise on how to protect my vents in the future. Fantastic Service, Highly Recommended.

Arrived on time as scheduled. Very polite as work was performed. Cleaned out under the refridgerator which was not expected, and it really needed it. Thank you, Kirk. He would have cleaned out dryer vent but could not find outlet to ouside of house. Homeowner needs to find out where it vents. Kirk was very polite and professional, and I would hire him again when needed. Said he would let me know where to purchase filters for the furnace at a reasonable price. Price was right compared to other offers. Cost includes taxes and discount.

We moved to this house not long ago so were looking to make a clean start of it. Kirk and a colleague were available for a Saturday appointment and called that day to let us know they could arrive early. That didn't work because of our schedule but it was nice to know that and O2 Pure showed-up on time and got right to work. They were careful to be complete and efficient and worked systematically and quickly. Kirk pointed out a small problem with our HVAC system and took care of it, making our system noticeably more effective. He also gave me some pointers about how to keep our furnaces clean. Lastly, both Kirk and his colleague were neat, wore booties in the house and left the house clean despite the massive machine. It's nice to work with people who are professional about their work and trade.

Excellent communication on setting up the appointment, very professional and on time, good advice while performing the service (about how to maintain the dryer), and reasonable cost. Overall an "A" experience.

They were punctual and clean, they used booty's over their shoes. He appeared to know what he was doing. Booked the job with the owner for $325 when he came out to do the work and saw I had a coupon he bumped the price up to $375. Overall good quality of work, but they are more expensive then my furnace and air conditioning company. They are not worth the extra cost and it was more expensive then I expected. After the technician left, the metal stripping on the door in our garage had been bent. We also found vents that had not been cleaned. The tape that was used to tape in a new access point in the hole duct return is not holding. I checked the filter and found that large chunks of debris had accummulated. UPDATE: In reply the service providers response the $375 comes from the first line on his receipt. He upped the price from $325 from the $325 on the Angies List coupon. The provider never contacted us to fix the issue. Which were missed ducts, the door seal he damaged or the vent door that he cut into the cold air return. I would not recommend or ever use this provider again.

Kirk not only did a great job cleaning the vents, but he had a lot of great advice on other projects we have on our "wish list". He also had good information on how to live "cleaner" lives using alternative cleaning products and other alternative household products, like cork flooring! Like a surgeon shows his patient the extracted tumor after a surgery, Kirk too has something to show when the job is done; all the dust and particles that were settling in our vents! It was good to see the end result, because I wondered how we would measure performance otherwise. It's best to plan in advance if you live in South King County (like us); O2 (headquartered northeast of Seattle) does its best to accommodate by scheduling several jobs in the same general area. Finally, Kirk offered to help us save on air filters by sending us a link to discount store online. I can't wait to get that link from him and start saving; both money and the air in my house).

This was one of the most favorable contractor experiences we've had. Kirk was remarkably professional, arrived on time and did a great job. Pricing was in line with other companies. We would not hesitate to hire him again or recommend his services.

O2Pure Air Duct Cleaning was on time. I had an issue, there was cold air coming out of the cold air return and I never felt that before they did the work and I called the guy, he never returned my call. He was a nice guy, very personable and did the job efficiently but he never returned my call.

Although I have not used O2 , I am most impressed by Kirk's customer service. I booked his service but had to cancel it because I could get my ducts cleaned earlier by a different company. Kirk was ever so understanding and courteous about it. Having had others companies turn nasty and bitter when you cancel their service, Kirk's kind attitude made my day.

Kirk was very professional and did and excellent job. Arrived right on time, was very thorough, even did a little extra (like cleaning my reusable filter), moved dryer out from the laundry space so I could vacuum behind it. Also recommended I replace my furnace filter with a better one which will collect more dust, pollen, etc. and gave me the name of the website so I could order them at a very reasonable price. I would recommend him to anyone.

He came to my house very on time. He did his job very professionally. I also appreciate him gave me many good suggestions about my house. He is really a nice guy. One of my friends just asked me about cleaning house, and I recommended him to my friend without any hesitate.

They did a real stand-up job. The fellow who did the work was the principal in the company. His name was Kirk. He had a little scheduling snafu. After waiting around in the morning for 45 minutes I called and we agreed that we did not have the same time on our calendars. To make it work for both of us, he came at the end of the day and stayed until the work was done. I don't know whose calendar was off. He did a fine job. It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. He really knew his stuff.

The guy was just good at duct cleaning. He was on time, and he set the appointment for an actual time and came up on time, instead of giving up a window. The quality of work was good.

Kirk, called and came out earlier than expected which was great for me! I will tell you this guy is great! Very friendly and willing to help out on any questions you may have. Kirk was very detailed and did a fantastic job cleaning our system. I was a little hesitant about doing this but was glad I did. The process went smooth and even helped with a piece of duct that wasn't connected to my main system. Also gave a nice discount for mentioning Angies List! I would recommend o2Pure air duct cleaning done in your house especially if you haven't had your ducts cleaned in over 10 years like ours. A+++++
