o2Pure Air Duct Cleaning

Owner/Operator Kirk Nygaard is the person who runs this business and arrives at your home with his helper to do your duct cleaning. His business is in Woodinville, WA and he travels all over the Puget Sound region including greater Tacoma (where I am located), Olympia, Fox Island, Peninsula area, etc. He answers his own phone, he does his own scheduling, he was on time and didn't dilly-dally. He and his helper both put on booties and, since he'd been to my home three years ago, he hit the ground running. First off, if you expect a whole house duct cleaning based off of a $50 ValuePak coupon you receive in the mail you are falling for the bait and switch. You will be upsold. Count on it. Duct cleaning is priced based upon livable square feet. My home is over 4,000 sq. ft. Second, Kirk uses the powerful and effective HEPA-AIRE H2500IV Portable Vacuum []http://www.abatement.com/air-duct/hepa-aireh2500iv.htm]. This is a pricey machine, a professional investment costing him around $15,000. To clean the ducts from the register side, Kirk's helper uses a wearable vacuum unit then they come in with a power rod system agitation device [http://www.abatement.com/air-duct/duct-pro-power-whip.htm] that functions like a whip striking all sides of the ducts to knock stubborn dust clusters from the top and sides of your ducts to be then taken up by the HEPA-AIRE end-unit. So, what to consider when engaging a duct cleaner? He is polite, courteous, tidy and task oriented. He won't waste your time and you'll get a professional job. Sure...I wish great services like this were a lot cheaper but a professional isn't cheap, the best equipment isn't cheap, ongoing industry training isn't cheap, gas to drive all over Puget Sound isn't cheap . Fly-by-night operators are cheap. Amortized over 3 years my cost is $165/year. Ongoing maintenance...that's what homeownership is about. I'm glad I can do it right.

After they left I inspected the work and found debris in the floor ducts.

Service was excellent. Kirk was able to come out quickly within a few days of me calling him, and he was on time. He did the job quickly and efficiently, and cleaned out all of our vents and ducts. Arrived on time. They were professional, courteous, well dressed, protected their feet with booties and moved about the house efficiently and respectful of our property. Total time for the job took about 1.5 hours. I will provide my neighbors with this firms name.

They arrived a few minutes early and was greeted very friendly. Very professional. Very prompt and responsive. Wore shoe covers. They even gave me a good website link for discounts on air filters (half price!) than at the retail stores! They showed me all the dirt (big and small). I would hire them again every three years.

These men are fast, efficient, pleasant and know their business. All the furnace and duct work were cleaned and in addition, they cleaned the clothes dryer vent, inside and outside. Kirk explained that we would be wise to remove the vent deflectors, especially those under windows. We have done so and are pleased with the results. We will see these men in 3 -4 years. All took just under 1 hour.

I set up the appointment over email. The responses were fast when setting up the appointment. He rescheduled once due to a family emergency. Then I was given a day, but no time. I hoped they would call when they were on the way to my house which is typical of other service providers, but they didn't. They were friendly and fast while doing the work. I think they did a good job and found an air intake that was completely clogged that they showed me. I have not had this service done before so I do not know how they compare to other companies.

Overall Wonderful service, Kirk was punctual, prompt and responsive with making the appointment, and arrived to do the job on time and efficiently. Price As there are several services with deals, O2 Pure did not turn out the cheapest (although I used a $50 coupon). However, you do get what you pay for, and I am far happier with the quality of the service with O2 Pure than I was when I had previously used a "deal" for the same thing. Given a choice, I would still opt to work with O2 Pure for air duct cleaning than try a company offering a groupon/special deal. Quality Very friendly service, prompt, got right to work and was competent in giving me advice on what to do to keep my air ducts clean. The air in my house is definitely cleaner (both I and my husband could feel it) after the service clean. I was also given advice on upgrading the filters to ensure better air quality on an ongoing basis. I saw the dust/dirt that was sucked out of my air ducts, and was very impressed!! I would not hesitate to work with O2 Pure again and would recommend them to anyone who wants a good clean to their air ducts!

Great! He was right on time and was friendly & efficient.

Kirk was friendly, careful and professional as he worked to clean a dryer duct that was blocked with lint and water. He arrived on time and wore covers over his shoes. He quickly assessed the situation and when he noticed water in the vent he went up into the attic (our dryer is on the top floor and the vent runs through the attic), disconnected and elevated the vent to drain it and then blew compressed air into it to clear the lint. Afterwards the dryer ran much better. Unfortunately the duct became blocked again after three weeks or so. We called Kirk a couple of times and also emailed him to schedule another cleaning but never heard back. After waiting a week for a response we had to go with another vendor as we needed the dryer to work. "Ventmasters LLC" suspected that the main problem was a crimped / compressed connection between the dryer and the wall and reworked the connection to address the issue. They also snaked the vent from the outside and blew air into the vent from the dryer side to clear lint. It was unfortunate that we couldn't reconnect with Kirk. We'd still consider him for future work if the other vendor wasn't available. Don't forget to mention that you found him on Angie's list as he offers a discount.

Was very impressed with O2 Pure. I contacted the company through Angie's List messaging, and Kirk responded within 24 hours. He gave me a quote and we scheduled the service to clean my furnace ducts and dryer vent. Kirk arrived promptly as scheduled; and loved on my dog at the front door (always a good sign for me.) He got right to work. He was efficient, and even stopped to deal with a hinge screw on my laundry room door that was acting up. When he finished the service, he pointed out some problems with the dryer venting, noting that we'd need to repair the problem. He offered to come back and clean that portion again once the repairs are made -- very thoughtful. He also showed me the gunk and dust he'd cleaned out of the furnace ducts. It was VERY obvious we'd needed the service done. I would call 02 Pure again and recommend them to others.

Either I talked with Kirk the first time I called for an appointment or he called me right back. He was pleasant and I was able to secure any appointment in a reasonable amount of time. On the day of my appointment, he called to let me know he would be 30 mins late, a courtesy I really appreciate. On arrival, Kirk and his assistant were pleasant and good with my dogs. I didn't stay with them as they worked. In a short time, they said they were through and ready to leave. After paying, I went to the laundry room and noticed one of the plugs had not been replaced. Fortunately, they were still in the driveway and replaced it. Several hours later, I went outside and noticed that the outside exit vent was completely filled with lent. I needed to pick it all out. When I called to complain, Kirk said "oh, that was my assistant" He offered a free cleaning in other 8 months or so, but I won't be taking him up on this. Between the plug and the lint filled vent, I'm left wondering if my vents were truly cleaned out. I will use somebody else in the future.

Kirk did a thorough job on my old house ducts. A month after the service, I replaced the old furnace with a new one, and the new furnace's stronger fan started pushing out some debris from one of the vents. I called Kirk and he came back right away to fix the issue. Apparently some old insulation material had accumulated in a fold of one of the ducts, and the new furnace's fan was strong enough to pick that up. Kirk came back twice to my place to take care of the issue, and eventually he managed to suck all that old debris out of that bad duct. I was expecting an additional charge for that, but Kirk said that there was no additional charge since that it was his miss, he should have found that debris the first time around. To be honest the fold of the duct where the debris was accumulated was quite hidden, and the debris itself was very unusual, so I would not consider that a "miss", but rather an unlucky circumstance. I appreciated very much Kirk's extremely professional approach and his availability to fix the issue very quickly and to no additional charge.

Kirk was awesome from first response to an email through Angie's List to completion of the service. He completed all the work we needed and was incredible to work with while on site. In addition to the contracted work, he gave me some free advice on how to update an antiquated piece of equipment at a great cost, more ideas on controlling my wife's allergies and didn't just rush through the service. I can't recommend him highly enough!

They were prompt, and came the next day, cleaned far better than the previous place I used.

Arrived on-time, friendly yet professional, extremely thorough, took time to explain what was being done and show what was taken out of the furnace air ducts. Provided helpful tips on how to maintain and operate system. Placement of the washing machine against the vent hose had been impacting the dryer duct efficiency and causing a potential safety issue without our knowing it. Very competitive pricing. No up-selling. Charges per the quote. AAAA+ and we certainly will use this company in the future.

Kirk responded promptly to our request for duct cleaning and was able to come out within just a couple days! We were impressed on all levels. He did an excellent job and the moment we stepped into the house when he was done we couldn't believe what a difference it made. He even cleared out all the lint that was blocking the dryer vent which was a big bonus. We've never had this service before but now we will get this done on a regular basis. A++ service!

In the past the people I have called out to clean the dryer duct said "we don't do dryer ducts," so consequently this vent was very, very plugged. No wonder the clothes took over 2 hours to dry! Kirk was able to clear a whole grocery back full of lint. We were very lucky to have not had a fire, thank goodness. He also sealed around the furnace that was put in about 5 years ago. The original company didn't align things properly. In addition, I had asked ahead of time if Kirk, the owner, and the helper he would be bringing with him are non-smokers, for I can't stand the smell of smoke. Both were. Last of all, they both were the booties over the top of their shoes, as to not bring in dirt into the house, which I really appreciated. With Angie's list, I was able to get a $50 discount, hurray! This is an A+ company in my book!
