They were very courteous and helpful. We never ended following up on remodeling because we moved to a different house.

Eric did as good a job as we allowed him to do. To be fair we really did not know what we really wanted and relied on his ideas and experience. The only negative was him introducing us to his contractor friend who gave us an estimate we did not expect or really wanted.

The work turned out just fine. He did a good job. We did not pay anything more than the $250 of the big deal.

After buying the coupon via Angie's list, Eric called me to schedule an appointment and learn more about what we wanted to discuss with him. He was very accommodating in scheduling a time that worked for us since my husband had to travel. Eric spent a good amount of time walking around the house and discussing various renovation ideas we had. He provided guidance and had some great remodel ideas for our master bathroom and bedroom. We agreed that he would provide a design of the front porch, which needed updating. As agreed Eric sent a PDF design of the front porch in the time frame he promised us. Without a doubt we would ask Eric to work with us on any future projects, as well as recommend him to friends and family.

Came to my home and consulted me on how I could add a bedroom & walk-in closet & bathroom.

Eric was very helpful in evaluating the property. It had a detached garage that was slightly too large to be a legal ADU, and Eric drew up a simple plan that reduced the square footage enough to meet the ADU limit. He talked through 1- and 2-bedroom options and had great ideas for landscaping to connect the main house and the guest house. We ended up not buying the property for unrelated reasons (too much deferred maintenance).

, Exactly as promised. He was pleasant and professional. He first described his training and experience and let us know what services he provides. No attempt to sell more services. We discussed our needs, concerns and estimated budget in detail. Soon after our meeting, he sent us the new plan, which included all the features we wanted. It gives us a good starting point and shows us what is possible and within budget.

We bought a house built in 1988 and it needs some serious updating. We just didn't know where to start and he was very helpful giving us possibilities and providing a plan that we could use to inspire our own ideas. I feel it was money well spent.

I expect a refund since I had to hire someone else to perform this service months later.

Eric walked us through the whole house and listened carefully to our opinions. Then he really came up with some great ideas on how our space could be better used. With our time and budget limit, quickly we decided that we will only do the most cost effective and practical renovation for the master suite. Thus he took some measurements and showed us a fast draft. He spent 2hrs with us on the site, and used the rest of the deal hour to sketch the PDF at office and sent it to us within 5 days.

Eric was professional, thorough, very cost conscious. His plan was great! I felt like I really got lucky as he was the first architect I contacted. I wouldn't hesitate to call him for any future work I needed.

Eric Gedney is a brilliant architect. We couldn't be happier with his work, and we have greatly enjoyed working with him oer th past year. We interviewed several architects before beginning our project. We found Eric through Angie's list. Eric began the process by coming out to the house, surveying the property, and talking to us in depth about our project. Eric had us complete a survey, walked us through the process of design and build stages and phases, listened carefully to what we wanted, and created a three dimensional visualization of the project. We wanted a modern design with green materials. I was surprised by how well Eric listened to us and how open he was to receiving feedback. He did a great job communicating and accurately set expectations up front about how to balance out requirements of quality, time, and budget for this major project. He recommended a few builders. We assembled bids from some of his contacts and some others. Eric recommended an interior designer, Roshele Allison, who is also amazingly talented. We assembled a great team of architect, designer, and builders who knew each other and worked very well together. Eric's taste is magnificent and the lines of our house are exceptionally beautiful. Eric did a great job advocating for us in several situations and making sure we made sensible and aesthetic decisions in all circumstances. He did a beautiful job. I can't say enough good things about Eric's talent, vision, communication competence, and integrity. I feel very fortunate to have worked with him and highly recommend his services to others.

Eric talked to us about the general plans we have for a 2 bathroom remodel. He also walked our property and gave general feedback about possible future plans we had. Then he took measurements of the 2 bathrooms and drew a rough sketch of the current bathroom layouts. From there he used a thin paper overlay to make some rough drawings of possible ways to change the layout to accomplish what we wanted. A few days after he left, he then emailed us a PDF file of more complete drawings both of what the current layout is and his proposed new layout based on our desires.

Eric was very professional and a great person to work with. His work is truly amazing and I recommend him to others. I can't wait for another project to come along where I need his services.

Eric had some good and creative ideas for how to remodel the kitchen to make it more liveable and larger. While we ultimately did not utilize his drawings, he provided a useful service in showing us some of the possibilities.

He was good about coming and doing the consultation. The deal was a little confusing.

Erik was great! He listened to our needs, desires and concerns. He reoriented us on what we thought we were going to do and actually made us rethink the living space taking into account what would be affordable.

The reason I bought the deal was to consult with someone about the spatial possibilities/problems of a 2 bathroom renovation. Eric promptly followed up with a phone call and an appointment. The consult went very well. Eric is very personable, knowledgeable, and very professional. I have a vintage house - era 1957 Rambler - so space is limited. I was somewhat overwhelmed with the ideas that were presented because, at the time, I hadn't thought about moving walls or reconfiguring the space to such a great extent. He was correct in his estimation of that being my only resolution in gaining my desired bathrooms. In my apprehensiveness to move forward with the project, we decided that perhaps an As-Built floor plan was a good place to start. Through prior personal experience, I believe such a plan is a very valuable thing to own. We contracted to begin with this plan with a payment of $1,000.00. Eric's description of his work: Project Setup & Research - 2 hrs. @$95 = $190.00 As-Built Measuring and Input - 7.5 hrs. @ $95 = $712.50 Schematic Design - 4 hrs. @ $95 = $380.00 Meetings - 2 hrs. @ $95 = $190.00 Credit for Angie's Big Deal - - 4 hrs. @ $95 = $380.00 SD Prints - $ 9.86 20% Handling Fee - 0.2 hrs. @ $9.86 = $ 1.97 Total: $1,104.33 Final Payment: $ 104.33 I have been very happy with the decision to do an As-Built floor plan. The plan gives a lay-out of the first floor only. I have a finished basement but that wasn't included.

That was fine. It was done as advertised. It was done in a timely manner and everything was appropriate. The deal was the same as the final cost. I never had any problems or complaints.

We have only used half the service half the amount of big deal and so I actually have a credit with him still and he is great. There is no problem. I had no complaints. I will use him if we end up doing something and I would use them. He was prompt on making an appointment when we wanted to make an appointment.

This service was purchased as an Angie's List Big Deal. Mr. Gedney was very personable and it was pleasant working with him. I enlisted the service in an attempt to plan ahead for my husband's deteriorating condition. Mr. Gedney came out to the house to look over the property and reviewed a set of house plans that I had on hand. He was very conscientious and he had some interesting, good ideas. I think he focused a little bit more on bigger renovations than I had in mind in terms of making the second floor accessible (elevators and room expansions) whereas I really wanted to focus more on the first floor restroom. All in all, an interesting process to go through and I enjoyed talking about possibilities for the house. As it turns out, we did end up renovating the first floor bathroom into an accessible space. Eric was right on time, had great ideas, and followed through quickly.

Eric came out to answer questions I had about the possibility of adding a second-story master suite to my home. He gave me the confidence that I could go through with the project given my budget, and gave me lots of ideas and solutions for things I previously saw as problems. We haven't picked an architect to do the design yet, but Eric is a contender.
