We could not agree on a mutually convenient time so I got no value for the $250 I spent on the Angie's List "deal."

Overall, we were disappointed. No big problems. We got some drawings, but not enough to make a decision on whether or not we'd like to move forward. We don't have any complaints. We just weren't completely satisfied with the expererience. I won't use "Angie's Deals" again. I definately see why Angie's List does them; I'm sure they bring in revenue. But in reading reviews of contractors that "had" great reviews, and then suddenly had their reviews nose dive, I think they are bad for members and contractors.

I got what I asked for: an intelligent, professional assessment of my problem.

Eric is nice, friendly and easy to work with. I enjoyed his input and was impressed with how quickly he "visually" remodeled the room. His diagram is great and will help when I tackle the remodel. He used all the space in the bathroom and utilized a cubby hole, which he said is the perfect place for a second sink.

He did the first half of the work but did not finish the job. He has been unresponsive since the first half of the work was done and I have given up trying to contact him.

We love the design of the addition - and everyone else does too! Eric not only was very professional, prompt, responsive, clear with communicating what his charges were going to be, but he was a true asset when it came to being a liaison with our contractor.

Eric was a pleasure to work with. He was punctual and professional. We looked at the spaces and discussed our family's ideas, style preferences, and practical needs. He produced excellent detailed plans for the remodel. When we are ready to implement the design, we will likely contact him again for further assistance. He was very amicable and also provided professional opinions on stylistic questions about the kitchen, doors, and exterior trim. We really liked his approach and will not hesitate to use his services for any design needs we have in the future.

Eric did an excellent job designing and helping create a new and exciting space for us. We love the way phase one has turned out and appreciated Eric's attention and professionalism. He became an integral part of the design/plan/build team with the project management and construction leads. The project became a little more complicated then first planned, however, whenever issues or questions came up, Eric was very responsive and thorough with quality conversations and solutions. I would definitely recommend Eric for your home remodel projects.

Eric visited our house and listened to what we hoped to accomplish. Because the area was small, Eric helped us with some innovative ideas creating additional space to be used in meeting our requirements. The job was mostly just a straight kitchen remodel and did not require too much in the way of architectural design so Eric brought in a kitchen designer with whom we worked to design the kitchen remodel. From that point, Eric was not very involved, but he did monitor the evolution of the design and was able to contribute by solving a couple of design issues. We are very pleased with the final result.

I have a 1924 built house that had a leaky carport so my husband and I were thinking of tearing it down to have a 2 story addition with 2 bedrooms on top and a rec room on the bottom which will be connected to our basement. I have spoken to 6 contractors but they were unable to give me an approximate cost/bid for the addition. I needed a drawing plan to show them what I needed. I heard Angie's list through a co-worker so I checked it out and this is where I found Eric Gedney. He had very good reviews that caught my eyes attention so I decided to contact him to set-up an appointment. I took advantage of the $250.00 coupon for 3 1/2 hours and it was all worth it. He spent approximately 1 1/2 hours speaking to me and taking measurements of my house. He also gave suggestions as to how to utilize the space we have. He used the remaining 2 hours to draw a pdf file plan that I could send to contractors so that they could give me their bid. I was impressed by his service because he came earlier than the appointed time. He was not an artchitect who would take advantage of you but give his honest and professional expertise. The reason I said this is because Eric determined that my addition is simple enough that it doesn't need an architect but a design/built contractor. I had a second architect consult who was just interested of charging me $ 4,000.00 to draw a simple plan and get permits but did not give any good suggestions or other ideas to build my addition. Eric finished the drawing plan and sent it to me via e-mail. I was then able to send it to the top 3 contractors I like. My husband and I are now waiting for their bids then will decide whether to go forward with the addition or not. Eric did a great job!

He was punctual, very professional and willing to spend the time needed with our family to understand our desires and preferences for the design. I highly recommend Eric for design projects.

My experience with Eric was wonderful. I took advantage of his $150.00 coupon for 3.5 hours of design work back in December (purchased 2 of them) and he was able to come up with a great functional design for my empty basement, including bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, and family room. Working with Eric was a breeze, he came over to my home to discuss the project, bounce around some ideas and take some measurements. After some good discussion and great insights from him, he was able to put together a good first pass at a design that was very close to what I had envisioned for my basement. After some minor modifications we did via email, he came over to my home once again to verify and complete his measurements and make sure I had all my questions answered. I think I came away with a great design and good learnings pulled from Eric's extensive design expertise. I certainly look forward to continue working with Eric as I put the plans in motion starting this summer.

I was very pleased. Eric had quite a bit of useful info regarding various aspects of design and construction of a back yard studio I am building.

My Wife and I have been trying to figure out what to do with our outdated and non-functional kitchen for years. We spoke with quite a few kitchen shops and a couple home improvement stores but always left feeling like they didn't really understand what we wanted or tried to sell us something far beyond what we could pay for. We contacted Eric through Angie's List, one of the email deals, and set up a time to meet at our home for a consultation. Eric was on time and ready to go when he arrived making notes as we spoke and walked around the house. Our home was built in 1978 and has an odd floor plan but Eric came up with multiple ideas that fit multiple budgets, even ours. At the end of the consult it was decided we would meet again with a contractor to discuss in detail the cost of each of the ideas laid out. We met again a few weeks later and the contractor was able to define some numbers for us. Neither Eric or the contractor were ever pushy or seemed like they were trying to make a sale, they genuinely wanted to help us make our space better on our budget. In the end we decided we were not ready to take on such a large project and Eric was very understanding. We will definitely call him when we are ready.

Eric was an absolute pleasure to work with from the initial call to the completion of the design. Don't hesitate to hire him for your project!

Eric was both professional and helpful. He had some great ideas for a couple of options we could consider based on our budget. We have not yet decided to proceed the project, but we now know what direction we will take should we decide to move forward and would definitely contact Eric for further project development assistance.

He initiated contact because I was slow setting up the appointment. He was flexible with timing and prompt in completing the plans.

Although our appointment with Eric was cut short we did get enough information from him to decide that to go ahead with our remodel/addition plans were not in our best intrests. Eric did refund the balance of the coupon fee.

Eric worked hard for us and we appreciated his interest and care for our concerns. This was a preliminary step and we will not schedule the remodel until sometime next Fall or later. I would have no hesitation about working with Eric. He was willing to go the extra distance to find out what we needed to know to make sure we got things right.

Overall I was satisfied with the service.

Eric is great! You don't find a designer like him very often, even from Angie's list. I purchased a big deal from the Angie's list. We set up an appointment. He stopped by on time. Very professional!!. He was able to immediately give me a fresh idea, which I didn't think of before. After he left, I was doing some homework and cost estimate. It turned out the plan he initially suggested may be over our budget. I emailed him and bounced back a few other ideas. He responded and suggested that he come by again because I haven't used up my time yet. He stopped by again and helped come up with another idea which we will likely to use. I am now looking for contractors and cabinets to implement the plan. In sum, go to Eric. He is great!!!

I used Eric through 'The Big Deal' promotion on Angie's List. I needed consultation and simple drawings on an attached garage I plan on having built. Eric was very responsive, and promptly set up a time to meet and go over the project. He listened well to exactly what I wanted, the concerns I had, and was able to research the feasability of the project. Eric spoke with the city and found out that we needed a side yard easement to proceed with the original plan. He delivered floorplan drawings and a basic rendering of what the sturcure would look like, which will be very helpful when asking for the easement from the neighbor. He also recommended a few alterate options in case we weren't able to obtain an easement. Overall I was very impressed with Eric's work. The price was very fair. He didn't try and recommend services beyond our needs. I would use him again.

Eric gave us a jump start in the right direction. We are considering all options at this point in time including his attractive a la carte pricing structure--purchasing only the services we need for phase I of the remodel project.

He was out of my price range and so I didn?t use him. His nature of work was just more than I could afford to. He is the sole proprietor. He is a pretty good architect, but he is just expensive.
