Eastside Exterminators

We asked Eastside Exterminators to come because we had rodent activity in one of our walls. We were concerned about the extent of pests and if they were rats or mice, etc. Inspector communicated about when he would arrive and was on time, very professional and polite. Inspector was very thorough. He was very honest about the extent of damage and type/amount of population of rodents that he saw. In our case, we did not have a very big problem: no rats, no damage to insulation and not very many mice really. So I was surprised he did not try to overstate the problem to frighten us or get us to purchase more services than necessary. While he inspected each part of the house, he placed traps and poison bait in places that were safe from pets/family members. He found one obvious outside entry place for mice and a huge nest at that location that had been there forever. He identified several other possible locations that should be addressed to stop or prevent more infestation. He checked the attic for damage to insulation and any bird infestation too. At the end he had a thorough quote for us on what work they could/should do to warranty no more animal infestation. He was very patient in explaining the breakdown of expenses and the details of how they would fix each item listed. It was definitely an opportunity to sell more services, but we expected this and did not feel overly stressed or intimidated into buying what we did not want. In the end, we chose not to purchase further services beyond the inspection they did. We decided to do it ourselves for now. But would hire them if we wanted a contractor to do it.

They were courteous and professional, and answered all my questions. I loved the detailed reporting.

It went well. Eastside is not just exterminators but also insulation people, so Todd pointed out a number of deficiencies in the house as well as PSE rebates that were current. He went into the crawlspace, removed the existing dead rodents and recommended a comprehensive plan for keeping them out.

Did what they said and even laid traps for me. Very happy with initial consult. However, the exclusion work to be done was extensive and they quoted my several thousand dollars for the repair. I'm sure they would have done fine work but the cost was too high for what they were going to do, in my opinion. Found another company through AL that provided the same exclusion work for ~1/3 of the cost. Bottom line, shop around and get competing quotes!

It is important to note that each and every person from appointment scheduling, to inspectors, work crew and appointment reminder calls were all exceptionally friendly and professional. We were kept informed of each detail being done and when, including if they may be running a bit late. We highly recommend this company. If I had a question, I was provided an answer quickly. They are all wonderful to work with.

The inspection went very well. I have not yet followed up and ordered the work because the price, $1,955 is a little steep for me at this time. I would want to get some other estimates.

Eastside Exterminators were quick to respond once I had made my purchase. They set up an appointment quickly, though did change the time prior to their arrival without confirming first (thankfully I was available). Everything went quickly downhill from there. Upon arrival, the rep simply asked me "What do you want me to do?" Confused, I told him I had purchased the rodent inspection package on Angie's List, so that was just what I was looking for. He immediately just started looking around as if he wasn't sure what to do before finally asking about the attic (the house does not have one). Eventually he said he would "suit up" and enter the crawlspace. He only placed a pair of knee pads on and started looking. He made many comments about things he was finding as he crawled through a bit of the crawlspace (things that would have been nice on a report) then just crawled back out. He said he would prepare a report and be back in a minute, then returned with a piece of graph paper with a few sentences about what he saw. The whole process was less than 20 minutes, but I assumed that a full report would be emailed to me (as my email address was confirmed twice as where to send documents). After waiting a couple of days and not getting my inspection report, I contacted Eastside and was told they would forward it to me. After a couple more days with nothing, I contact them again to which I eventually just got a digital copy of the invoice and nothing more. After contacting them a third time, I received an email shortly later claiming that I had "declined" the rodent inspection and "There will not be any additional report without a full rodent inspection at $195.00 plus tax ( you had purchased an Angie?s list rodent inspection previously). Please let me know if you would like to schedule a full rodent inspection" In the end, here was my inspection: -The "trapping system" consisted of 3 wooden traps lined against the entrance to the crawlspace -The full inspection did not at all cover the exterior of the home or under the decks and consisted of just about 10 minutes in the crawlspace -There were no pictures taken and no written report -There was no proposal or quote for repairs I actually had used EE in the past on another home for this same service and felt happy with what I got. In this case I received none of that same service and instead was given an unprovoked, rude email stating that I somehow declined the service I paid for and would be charged double if I wanted them to do it properly. Put simply, I will never attempt to use their services again and encourage others to avoid them as well.

They were good. They were on time, reasonably priced and they educated us pretty well which is nice because not a lot of us know about bugs and pests.

We had used this company before, to cure our then very seriouse rat problem. They solved it with rat "feed boxes", and continue to maintain monthly. So we called again for this problem. They came relatively quickly, and found the yellow jackets were building nest in our walls. They immediately put in poisons and plugged the access holes. This could have been very serious. They said to call if we saw any hornets in house.

They arrived on time and provided everything they promised. The work was done professionally and completed on time. In addition they answered all my questions and cleaned up after themselves.

The inspector and subsequent work crews and individuals were uniformly prompt, courteous, competent, and professional. We have absolutely no complaints with timeliness, communications, work quality or price. I recommend Eastside Exterminators without reservation.

The initial inspector was very thorough and professional. She led me thru what she had found and suggested some fixes. The second guy came on time and did the things he was going to do in a timely fashion. Both of the people were very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I would definitely call them again

We have now used Eastside Exterminators several times for rodent services. We sold our house and had them come out to do a rodent exclusion in our attic. Then we bought another house and found more rodents. They came out and did an exclusion, but we also signed up for ongoing services as we now live in the country and there are lots of mice around. They are always on time, thorough, and professional. A little pricey, but worth it.

I was emailed a coupon by Angie's List for a deal that was outside the provider's service area, so they refused to honor the deal. I advised them to list (in the fine print) the counties they were willing to provide that service in. This is standard for most deals. They said they would contact Angie's List and correct the problem. I just want all of my money credited back to my credit card since they refused to honor the offer.

Came out and sprayed to keep ants and other insects out of my house. After they left the problem became worse and I now have ants coming into my house. I've tried contacting them to explain the situation, and they told me to purchase a higher end package.

I have used Eastside Exterminators for about two years. I have been happy with the service and care taken with my house and property. They are very responsive when I have an infestation that requires additional spraying inside. I had a cockroach problem about 1.5 years ago and they came out and sprayed my kitchen 3 times at no extra charge (they probably got into my boxes when my stuff was in storage for 6 months). They are a little more expensive than most pest control companies, but I do feel it is worth it to have the job done right.

It went as planned. They were prompt at scheduling the service, they were able to come out in under a week's time and arrived when they said they would. They did not need to access the house, so they were able to come while we were at work. They left a slip stating services performed and that no other services were suggested (meaning no infestations, etc were seen/noted). We've seen proof of the product working (dead beetles, small ants around the garage door have disappeared, etc). We are very happy with the service and would recommend them highly!

Wonderful! Was able to get an appointment the same day I called. Have not seen any ants since!

I have had superb experience with Angie's List, but unfortunately I was disappointed with Eastside Exterminators. They get a foot in the door with a $99 deal, and then they upsell, upsell, and upsell. It turns out $99 was only for them to come in. To remove dead rodent, it was an extra charge. Then they proposed "exclusion work" to close all the openings from which rodents can come in. They charged about $1500 for it, and in just a few weeks we started smelling rodent smell again from the attic. Now they say that it will again cost several hundred dollars for them to come in. Also, they want you to sign up for their ongoing service contract and pay them a monthly or bimonthly fee. Not how a reputed company should work. Update: The company responds with: "When you buy a computer these days it comes with a free 90 trial of an antivirus software, if you don?t sign up for the antivirus after the 90 days is up, chances are you will get a computer virus." ... "Sometimes there is nothing you can do to satisfy a customer short of doing work for free!" Wow! Spending $1500 is equivalent to a free trial! Charging $1500 was doing work for free! Now they claim that they had warned that the problem would continue. Imagine how many people would hire a company and pay them $1500 if they say that after the work the problem would continue anyway.

The service went well. They did the service for a rental property. They did exactly what the deal stated. They were able to do the interior and exterior of the condo without charging an additional fee. They were able to get rid of spiders for the tenants. They have had no issues since the service. The staff was great and we had no problems scheduling the service.

She was incredibly thorough and discovered where mice were entering my house. She checked the house upstairs and in the basement. She checked the entire perimeter of the house, using a gloved hand to even feel under the siding. She crawled into a space under the side of the house to look and up on the roof too. Then she wrote up several estimates to take care of the many problems I have, one for taking care of where the mice are coming in, one for new chimney caps, and one to secure an area under one portion of the roof where rodents could enter. She also gave me a quote for putting insulation under a portion of the kitchen that doesn't have any. All in all, very impressive, and the prices seemed fair. I can't afford to fix everything at once, so I appreciate having separate quotes.

This company should make a book called HOW TO DO GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! They are fantastic! Wendy came out and checked our crawlspace which we knew needed repair. She took a ton of pictures and showed us exactly want needed to be done. Then Scott came out and did an Exclusion which included building a new door for our crawlspace. Then after a few days Jason came out and got rid of 17 dead mice that were trapped in our crawlspace(thanks to the great exclusion)! Then a few days later Isaias and Eduardo came out and took our old insulation out and put in new insulation with a new vapor barrier. When they were done everything was really clean! I want to thank Wendy, Scott , Jason, Isaias, and Eduardo! They were always on time and very polite and friendly. They answered all of our questions. Also the people calling from Eastside were always very nice and professional! This is a great company and we have already told a number of people about them. If you need new insulation or exterminators this is the number 1 company to go with!!!!!!

Provider promised big things on the phone-find the mice, see how they get in, where they are and what we (I) can do about it. The worker showed up, and in 20 minutes said he was 'done!" I paid $200.00 for twenty minutes????? He marked with a crayon three points I hadn't know about found in 5-8 minutes-the only helpful thing they did. He stuck around telling me all he'd do and trying to rustle up ,more work before leaving. Might be worth $100.00, but it sure isn't worth what I paid....

It turned out well and they did a good job figuring out the route the mice were taking . They seemed to take care of the problem. What I liked is there wasn’t killing involved; it involved blocking the access points and they told us how to block any mice left in the house from our kitchen. Their prices were more expensive than others but their responsiveness was immediate. I did think there was going to be follow up to check the traps in the garage, which are empty but they did call to check in on things.

They were prompt, professional and thorough. He crawled in the attic and the crawl space under the house, set traps, took pictures and provided those pictures and a report with recommendations. We asked for a bid for redoing the attic insulation and cleaning up the crawl space, but we felt that the bid was too high and we haven't had a chance to get additional bids to compare yet so we haven't had them perform other work.
