+ -1 moreI bid 3 Angie's list companies and Bill gave the best estimate, but also kept it simple to understand the work that would be performed. Bill's team did such a good job I had them do some other landscape projects such as putting in a new rock path, permanent lawn border, driveway lighting and bringing in some great landscape rocks. He doesn't advertise but his team is also very skilled at landscaping, and I was happy to not have to hire yet another contractor, or do it myself. I would highly recommend Bill and his team to anyone and will be using him for more landscaping in the future, as well as possibly extending the sprinkler system at some point.
Description of Work: Installed a new sprinkler system: front, side and large backyard, as well as in planting beds. Additional landscape work noted below (not reflected in above cost).

She not only gave easy to understand rates and explanation (this is our first home with a sprinkler system installed), but was able to organize the schedule so that our home could be fit into the schedule within a week during peak season. The team that came were also very courteous and quick.

+ -1 moreWe hired Bill Austin to install a new underground sprinkler system for our home. All the landscaping was done prior to his job, so I was concerned about it being destroyed in the process. He assured me that when the job was finished that I wouldn't know where the trenches were. Incredibly, he was right. They had to dig around flower beds that had multiple inches of fine bark, and not in one area was anything destroyed; it was all put back perfectly. He started the job on time, people were here working by 8am, worked the whole day and consecutive days until the job was done. I would recommend him to anyone for a sprinkler install and will use him again for anything he can do that we might need in the future.

+ -1 moreIt was a lot more expensive than I thought, and that's the main reason I give them a B. I was pleased with the work of the crew and their overall professionalism. Tracking down the broken wire took longer than hoped and while I was pleased they were able to trace the wire's path, they were never able to find the missing valve. I had been quoted an hourly rate and it took a lot longer than I assumed. The double check valve hadn't been checked in years so I can understand it going out of specification but the part is only $120 at Home Depot but I was charged about $250 including install + cost of inspection. It only takes about 20 minutes to replace the thing, so that profit seems high. Overall they did good work but I felt I should have been given clearer info about the costs and those costs were too high. On the other hand they do winterization for $60 and that seems quite reasonable.
Description of Work: I had the company repair some sprinkler pipes and trace a missing valve. They determined my double check valve wasn't working right and replaced it.

+ -1 moreOverall it was terrible. Wasted about two months, because of great reviews I'd read. Phoned company twice and.made appointments. They were supposed to call me the day before the appointment and advise what time theywould be out the following day. Never happened EITHER TIME. I phoned the company after they didn't call for thesecond appointment, and asked if they ever kept appointments??I gave up on them.

+ -1 moreHe was early for his appointment, but called first to see if it was OK to come early. It was great for me. He was very pleasant and knowledgeable. He was accommodating and willing to adapt to our needs which involved installing a system that could be expanded later. His bid was the lowest that we received. The only reason we didn't choose Bill was that we also needed some landscaping done and we found a company that would do both the irrigation system and the planting as part of the same job.
Description of Work: Bill Austin gave me a bid for an irrigation system around our recently remodeled house.

+ -1 moreThey get the job done neatly and there was nothing negative in my eyes. So i will use them every year in the future.
Description of Work: I scheduled backflow test and sprinkler system winterizing with them. The appointment was 1pm in the afternoon but they came 11am because they were in the neighborehood and they came to see if I were at home. I happened to be there because of the appointment with the other guy. So they did the service rightaway. I am happy because that gave the time in the afternoon back to me. They did backflow test first. Then did the sprinkler system winterize. They also explained to me the valves and switchs in my frontyard, which I didn't have good idea about. I am glad that now I know which switch is for what and know which to shut off in each situations. They did sprinkler system winterize zone by zone. They used car mounted air pump to push water out of the pipes. The whole job took about less than 0.5 hour. They get the job done neatly and there was nothing negative in my eyes. So i will use them every year in the future. Price is also reasonable. They didn't take check. They told me the office will send me bill. That's fine, though I prefer paying check rightaway.

Description of Work: Austin Irrigation installed a very complex sprinkler system with 10 zones in our property. Routing included running lines under the driveway. Our requirements included irrigation for 3 seperate plant beds, 4 lawn zones, 8 raised vegetable beds and pool perimiter. Bill Austin came out and provided a quote and was an expert in understanding how to approach the work. The quote was less than others. They were very prompt on time and kept all appointments. Installation was fast and the lawn and garden areas were cleaned up to such a degree that it was nearly unnoticeable! Bill ran us through the system to show how it worked and programmed it with us post installation. We could not be more satisfied.

+ -1 moreThey promptly responded to my initial call. Workers showed up on time, gave me a courtesy call when they were on their way. They got right to work on the leaking head, knew exactly what to do and had all the necessary parts to complete the repair. They checked the entire irrigation system and fixed two additional broken heads. The quality of the work was excellent, customer service was outstanding and the price was very reasonable. I will use them again in the future and would recommend them without reservation.

I wasn't quite sure what was all wrong with our system and they came out and tested everything and realized that we needed a new controller. They could not get one circuit working and had to come back another day to dig out to see if it was a broken pipe - which it was. Pleasant work crew.
Description of Work: We had an older irrigation system in our lawn and had major issues to work with as well as a controller that wasn't working properly. They installed a new controller and repaired a broken pipe, installed 50 ft of wiring and then the usual repair on sprinkler heads and nozzles..

+ -1 moreI was extremely impressed with how perfectly they restored the pathways and garden areas after laying the lines. They were in and out within 2 days, tested the system carefully, and made sure I understood how to operate it. You could not tell any work had been done when they drove away, it was so tidy. The owner, foreman and crew were all very pleasant and helpful.
Description of Work: I had an extensive irrigation system installed in my ~6,000 sq. ft. garden. My cottage garden was well established, and they installed a pop-up system throughout most of the garden and a drip system in one smaller area. They laid most of the main lines under the meandering gravel pathways and branched off that to reach the plantings.

+ -1 moreEven though it took three times to finally get the system up and running, Austin was always helpful, courteous and professional. They know what they're doing. We will use them again.
Description of Work: Our sprinker system did not work and Austin came out and diagnosed the problem and provided an estimate. The first visit they fixed some broken electrical wires to the pump. It turned out that they had to return a second time because access to the line was under our Trex deck for which they didn't have the right tool. They returned and put in a new valve and some new PVC to bring more pressure along the line as it was a long way from the pump. Just after they left we saw that there still wasn't enough pressure and called them back. They returned the third time and found another broken valve which they replaced. The system works great.

Description of Work: They converted an existing manual ten zone irrigation system into an automatic system. Work included providing new valve boxes and automatic valves and tying into the exisitng irrigation distribution lines. They also provided a backflow protection device in the basement.
