Job 1: Made an appointment. Steve called before he came out. Provided an estimate for parts and labor. Informed us of poor repair history on our washer model. Recommended we consider purchasing a replacement machine. He seemed thorough and knowledgeable. Job 2: Called them for estimate on repairing 4-year old Whirlpool Calypso washer. Steve's diagnosis was the same as I determined using an internet trouble-shooting website. He gave us a repair estimate of 2.0 hours and a total of more than $330 with part. He also recommended we consider a new machine. After two-weeks of looking at new machines, we scheduled the repair. Steve was on time, had all of the right parts, completed the job in 2.0 hours and charged only $239 with no second charge for a service call. He also thoroughly cleaned the machine, explained where the slug came from, and checked it out before leaving.
Description of Work: Job 1: Checked out noisy washing machine. He checked the noise and other things. Diagnosed failing u-joint and provided quote for repair.($65.) Job 2: Washer repair. Replaced the u-joint, boot, and mounting plate on a 4-year-old Whirlpool Calypso washer. Cleaned interior parts.($239.)

My washer began making a strange noise in the middle of a wash cycle and then didn't continue to the rinse and spin. The repairman (didn't catch his name!) arrived on time and diagnosed and repaired the machine quickly and efficiently. He even did a little tweaking to my dryer vent to make it fit better free of charge. He shared some of his extensive knowledge about washers (top loading vs. front loading, where and how manufactured, what to watch out for to prevent repair, etc.) and I would consider buying a large appliance through them in the future.

It was the best experience I have encountered in a long time. The technician knew so much information and was so nice. The work was done in a timely manner and very professionally. He even helped me put my groceries back into the refrigerator, which I thought was so nice as he didn't have to do that.
Description of Work: Our Maytag wide by side was no longer keeping cold on the refrigerator side so we had to have them come out and take a look. The defrosted the freezer and then changed out the mother board in the refrigerator.

Checked out both washer and dryer. Gave estimate to bring both into top shape, but further suggested it was probably not worth it to put that kind of money into seven year old units. Very honest.

I called to make an appointment to have our dryer fixed. They were very busy and put me on hold a couple of times. They said the soonest they could be to my house would be Friday (it was Monday). I made the appointment but ended up calling another company who could come quicker. The gentleman I talked to at Appliance Clinic was very helpful and giving me suggestions on what might be wrong with the dryer. I just wished they had faster service.

Excellent! All three people I dealt with were knowledgeable, competent, professional and friendly. This is a family owned business that obviously cares about the customer and takes pride in a job well done. I will return to them without question the next time I need help.
Description of Work: My washing machine froze in mid cycle and began making a whining sound. Steve removed the front panel then reached down and manipulated something under the machine. He explained that it was a temporary fix and that the machine would probably break down again. Then he thoroughly explained why it might be wise to buy a new machine rather than fix my old one. Although they sell machines, he did not try to get me to buy through them. He explained so well that I decided to buy through Appliance Clinic anyway, and he gave me a $25 off certificate. Steve was very knowledgeable and competent. After staying for nearly a half hour, he charged only the minimum. Two days later I bought Appliance Clinic, bought a washer and had it delivered. After delivery, it turned out one of my faucets had a corroded fitting, and they called a specialist in. He used every tool, including a torch all on overtime. Everything works fine, and all was done at NO CHARGE. He even gave me two free hose filters.

The repairman showed up 5 minutes early, quickly made an evaluation about an electrical/computer problem, and offered price information for the parts that would be necessary to fix the problem. He discussed doing the repair versus just buying a new stove because the stove was 16 years old. Once I told him I thought I'd just buy a new stove, he took about 15 minutes educating me on the type of stove I should buy based on my cooking and baking habits. He was very helpful.

Steve B. arrived one hour early, which I liked. He was not able to fix the problem on the first visit due to not having the replacement fan. However, he helped me remove items from the fridge/freezer which was going beyond the call of service. The fan was replaced on the next visit. Overall, good experience.

The Appliance Clinic repairman was prompt and professional. He not only figured out that it was a much simpler problem, he had anticipated everything and brought the correct parts to fix it. Then he stayed and watched the machine go through an entire cycle to make sure it was really fixed! I was very impressed.
Description of Work: Our 13-months-old washing machine had what appeared to be electronic problems. One month past the warranty expiration, no less. The machine has fancy circuitry and we couldn't get the door open. Wet clothes inside were starting to mildew. On the internet, I learned that this Whirlpool machine has typically had problems with its motherboard and I was expecting a very expensive repair.

I appreciated that they didn't just fix it without checking with us. With some repair clinics, they would have fixed it, knowing that someone else would be paying for it. Their common sense and integrity impressed us again. They also took care of recycling and disposing of the old microwave.
Description of Work: Our six-year-old microwave was broken when our kitchen remodeling contractor removed it. We thought it was just the door latch, because that's what the error message said. Having used the Appliance Clinic recently for another appliance, we did not hesitate to take the microwave to them. They charged a $40 deposit (eventually to be paid by the remodeler who broke it) to be applied to the final repairs. However, the Appliance Clinic discovered a more serious problem and called to explain what was REALLY broken before fixing it. Turned out to be cheaper to get a new microwave (also paid for by the people who broke it.)

Great customer service. I actually got service sooner than the appointment, by being on their ''cancellation'' list. The service man was very polite, had the parts in the truck and was in and out in 20min. I would definitely use them again! And, it is a local small shop, I like to support my community.

Appliance Clinic responded quickly and rapidly repaired my oven. The repairman Steve was very knowledgeable and quickly resolved the issue. He also took the time to clean the coils on my refrigerator and checked my dishwasher at no additional cost. He said as long as I was paying for a service call, he could save me the cost of a second call if necessary.

THE REPAIR MAN CAME OUT ON TIME TO REPAIR THE DRYER. HE PRAISED MY HUSBAND FOR CORRECTLY DIAGNOSING THE PROBLEM AND ORDERING THE CORRECT PART FOR THE PROBLEM. UNFORTUNATELY, HE HAD SIMPLY CONNECTED A COUPLE OF WIRES BACKWARDS. THE COST SEEMED EXCESSIVE TO ME, BUT IT WAS THE STANDARD PRICE TO COME AND LOOK AT A DRYER AND IT WAS THE SAME AS EVERYWHERE ELSE.
Description of Work: MY DRYER WOULD DRY THE CLOTHES, IT SIMPLY WOULDN'T TURN OFF AUTOMATICALLY. MY HUSBAND ATTEMPTED TO FIX IT BY REPLACING A PART, BUT UNFORTUNATELY THAT DIDN'T WORK. WE CALLED TO HAVE THEM FIX THE TIMER.
