Superior Building Concepts crew arrived and introduced themselves. They began work at once which included removing a temporary wall of 2x6's and plywood covering the opening where a sliding door was to be installed. Some of the exterior of the metal siding had to be removed and some trimming of boards to open the wall bay for them to install a 13'H by 12'W. The door track was installed and the metal sheeting cut to fit around to frame and finish nicely. The door frame was assembled and installed and it opens and closes very smoothly. During the job, the metal was wiped down to remove any particles with a soft cloth including the track metal cover. The white trim was totally clean and spotless and as you know we just had a tremendous amount of rain creating mud in some of their work area. They cleaned up the work area and then asked if I wanted the plywood they removed moved. The plywood in now nicely stacked on my property and I don't have to look any longer at the aging plywood on my arena. It looks great!
Description of Work: Installation of a 13'Hx12'W sliding door on long side of riding arena pole barn.
Great! Very prompt and curtious. We will be hiring him again to do some interior painting and possible bathroom remodel.
Description of Work: Repair of dormer siding. Cleaned and repaired roof. Cleaned gutters. Replaced side garage door.

We wanted to have 2 skylights installed in our living room as it was dark like a cave with cathedral ceilings. We also wanted to replace our 5' slider from the dining room to the deck with a 10' 4 panel slider. Stan came out and gave us a reasonable bid and we scheduleed the work. He arrived on time, started right away preparing the living room with plastic barriers to protect the rest of the house from the dust, etc. He came every day when he said he would, consulted with us as necessary, then cleaned up after the work was done. The skylights look wonderful, what a difference it makes in our living room! We then scheduled the install of the 4 panel slider, which, to save some money I picked up in Oregon at a provider Stan recommended. He went to work on the day we scheduled for him and in 3 days, the work was done. Again what a difference the larger slider made to our view of the backyard and light into the dining room! Stan warned us that the slider we ordered had had a problem with the latch on the last large slider he installed, but said the manufacturer rep came out and fixed it for his other customer and it works fine now. Sure enough, same issue with our slider and the rep came out and spent about 2 hours taking the locking mechanism apart and getting it to work perfectly. We were very pleased with every aspect of Stan's work on our projects and we would hire him in a NY minute for anything else we would like to have done.

the tasks we assigned were all detail-oriented and time consuming so it took several weeks to get it all done. This was exacerbated by the fact that we had to move furniture in and out of rooms so the work could get done, and since paint fumes were overwhelming we had to spend a few nights away from home. However this the nature of renovations taking place in an occupied home. The end result is worth it though, we got rid of dated oak wood and are now living with beautifully painted white woodwork, it's made an enormous difference overall. Stan and his team took their time to ensure every detail was performed properly, their standards are higher than anyone else we've had do work for us, they were careful, efficient and did excellent work. We will be contacting them again in the near future for further renovations!

Although the weather did not cooperate as well as I would have liked, the project was completed in a very timely manner of approximately three weeks. The first problem Stan (Superior Building Concepts) needed to resolve was the relocation of a small 10' X 12' storage shed that was currently on the site where the workshop was to be build. The relocation of the shed turned out to be a little bit of a struggle, but was successfully moved via placing several black 4' sewer pipes under the shed and rolling it to it's new location. Thereafter the concrete subcontractor went right to work excavating the site and setting the forms, rebar, and interior wire mesh. Approximately two yards of gravel were also used in the process along with some pink sheets of foam siding that was placed around the interior perimeter for reasons I'm not clear on, but must have been required per code. Also completed at this time was approximately 100' feet of trenching to accommodate the power, water, and sewer lines. It should be noted that when the subcontractor dug the trench they hit a buried guttering runoff junction container and made a mess of the runoff container. I only mention this because Stan (Superior Building) dug the container up and replaced the container with a newer per code junction container and never asked for a dime as some other contractors might have done. The repair took a few days to complete and I'm sure the cost made a small dent in his bottom line. This is a trait that I have noted with regard to Superior Building. If they did not plan on something or something goes wrong they will not ask for additional funds to cover the issue or miscalculation. They just fixed it and did not even hint around about it. This is an issue I have heard other people complain about regarding other contractors. The day the concrete was poured it was quite interesting because it was raining. The subcontractor build a plastic roof over the excavated site and completed the pour of approximately 13 or 14 yards of concrete in the wind and rain. After the forms were removed I examined the slab the next day and you would not have known the concrete was poured while it was raining. The remainder of the workshop went pretty much without delays or issues (see pictures). The quality of the work performed by Stan (Superior Building) was nothing less than superior (a pun). I currently do not have a third project in mind, but if I did I would not hesitate to go to Superior Building first.
Description of Work: This is the second time I have utilized this contractor to build an addition to my home. This time I contracted Superior Building Concepts to design and build a workshop of approximately 400 Sq. Ft. (18ft X 22ft). From the time I gave Superior Building the go ahead it took about three week for Superior to complete the design and obtain the county permit ($1,200 of the planned budget). The workshop was built separate from the house on a concrete slab, 2 X 4 construction, and with a 10 ft. ceiling. For my intended use both power and water was a requirement. To accommodate the electrical a 40amp. line was ran from the house to an electrical box inside the workshop. All electrical lights, plugs, and other systems were supplied from electrical box inside the workshop. Because of location, running a gravity sewer line to the workshop was not practical (slope issues). Also, running a hot water line would have been inefficient. For this reason Superior Building installed a pump for the sewer and a small instant water heater in the workshop to solve these two issues. To reduce costs and keep the project under my $20,000 budget I elected to forgo interior insulation and sheetrock with exception of the ceiling and do that myself at a later date. The ceiling was sheetrocked and approximately R36 was blown into the ceiling. In addition, the cost indicated above included two windows, a steel door with lock, six florescent lights with switches, and approximately 10 outlets (plugs) spread around the inside walls.
I would like to begin by saying my experience with the owner (Stan) was TERRIFIC! He was prompt, hardworking, fair, and did a marvelous job. The overall length of the project from signing the agrement to completion of work was approximately two months (or about 60 days). The first month was engineering (drawings) and obtaining the permit. All of the work performed was planned and sequenced very professionally and in a timely manner. Once the permit was granted the construction began promptly with removal of the old concrete patio, excavation and framing for the new foundation, and pouring of the new foundation. Following completion of the foundation the heating ducts, subfloor, floor insulation, framing, (to include old sliding glass door removal and new door installation), exterior siding, electrical, wall insulation, drywall, ceiling insulation, exterior painting, etc. went pretty much flawlessly. Superior Building subcontracted the concrete, framing, and electrical work but was present on-site during all subcontractor activities and participated in the work as was appropriate. There were no delays once work started except to accommodate required county permit inspections. All permit inspections went flawlessly. Superior Building was very responsive to my questions, change request, and other inquires during all phases of the construction. I did request one change, the addition of a window, which was accommodated at a small additional charge for the window and installation. Bottom line, Superior Building Concepts did a superior job and was very friendly and responsive at all times. I am currently planning a workshop and plan on using Superior Building Concepts for it's construction. Based on our experience with Superior Building Concepts I would highly recommend considering Superior Building for your construction needs.
Description of Work: Superior Building Concepts enclosed an existing covered patio that was already part of our house. The enclosure was a complete room addition of approximately 220 sq. ft that included electrical (plugs, cable, & internet) and recessed lighting. Before selecting Superior Building Concepts we obtained two other bids. Although Superior was not the lowest of the three bids they were the best, in our opinion, when considering knowledge, quality, and price as a group. With that said, Superior was the middle bid and reasonably near the lowest bidder when considering price alone. The room addition was designed to be directly accessable from our family room through removal of the old sliding glass door. Entry into the addition from the family room was desired with no stepping up or down which was achieved (i.e., level with the family room). The cost of the addition included most everything (including permit and taxes) with exception of the exterior entry door, window trimming, and flooring. The entry door with sidelights was purchased separately, but Superior Building Concepts picked-up the door from the vendor and installed to include applying the finish on the door. The floor and window trim I elected to purchase and install myself.

The project went as planned. It was started on time and completed on time. Stan worked with us to make sure we selected the right paint and made sure we were happy during the whole process. He took time to patch and putty any nicks or dings, so the end results looked like new cabinets, doors and woodwork. It turned out beautiful and we could not be happier.

I had used Mr. Petriyenko the previous summer to repair, sand and stain my wood deck. Very satisfied with the results one year later.
Description of Work: Mr. Petriyenko used moss killer and cleaned the roof. This was after an emergency visit May 2010 to address leaking roof due to full gutters. In both instances he was prompt, courteous and gave adequate explanations for what methods he used to approach repair and cleaning of the roof.

The work went as scheduled and Stan put in some long days to complete the work on time. We added some projects during the process and he completed them in the same professional manner.
Description of Work: Stan remodeled our master bath, which included moving walls, sheetrocking, painting, re-staining cabinets, installing a new mud set 6'x3' tile shower, new tile counter tops, new tile surround on jacuzzi tub & tile floors. He did a fabulous job and we couldn't be happier. He was a true craftsman, very punctual, easy to work with and has great design ideas. We would use him again and recommend him to anyone that is looking to do some remodeling. We have done remodeling in the past and this remodel was the best.
