Ron and Mark were very good about calling and letting me know what the time frames were. They were on time and did exactly what they said they would do. The work was compleated in a very professional manner to my satisfaction. The subs were also reliable and prompt. There work was good as well.
Description of Work: Ron and Mark replaced the ceilings in several rooms with new drywall and finished them for paint. They had two subs do electrical and insulation work as well.

I described the idea and he quickly did a computer drawing for approval. Then I chose the cabinets and particular measurements were made and the bid was submitted and accepted. Made a down payment and waited for the cabinets to be made. He installed the flooring and tore out what could be taken out. Timing was well managed so I did not have to have no kitchen for too long. When the cabinets were ready it was a matter of putting them in and installing the appliances. A new over the stove microwave with a fan vent was installed and wired. I chose to handle painting of the walls which saved some $. I had a new window installed over the sink as well.It all went smoothly. The dishwasher was installed and a new sink and counters as well as hooking up the icemaker for the fridge. People who saw the old kitchen were amazed at the change and the quality of the work.
Description of Work: Small kitchen complete remodel including cabinets, sink, counters, installation of new appliances, some small electrical wiring and installing a tile floor. I had an idea for how I would like it to look in general and he had great ideas on spacing things to get the most out of cabinets and where to place the appliances. I gained much more counter and cupboard space. The electrical outlets were moved to more useable places.

I did the staining for both projects and they did the rest. Now I have the most beautiful deck on my street! They did a great job and were easy to work with. They came up with great ideas and the results showed. They showed up as expected and cleaned up after themselves. Very professional in every way.
Description of Work: Installed decking and railings to replace old 10 x 20 ft cedar deck. In addition built a rear upper deck cover for an 8x 10 deck. .

Ron did a great job; we would give him an A+ if we could. We originally had him build a deck and thought we would save money and finish the underneath of the deck ourselves (it was a second story deck and we wanted to use the underneath as a storage area). He did such a exceptional job on the first job (and it was so reasonable) that we called him back to finish the work we originally thought we would do ourselves. We are so glad we did, everything looks great.
Description of Work: We needed a new deck. Not only did Ron provide exactly what we requested, but he also provided insight and suggestions that were incorporated into the plan. It turned out better than we had expected.

The job went very well and plan to utilize the services of this company again. My house is a 1924 craftsman bungalow and given its age I was concerned about the condition of the roof. Surprisingly, Ron provided me with good news that the roof would not be in need of replacement for another four or five years.
Description of Work: What I admired most about Ron Wackerly Construction services is the fact that he, the provider, realized that it was unrealistic for me, the customer, to go up on the roof of the two story house to check the roof to ensure that the job was done. Ron took photographs of every angle of the roof as proof that the job was done and done well. Additionally, Ron and his assistant repaired one of the gutters so well that it is now difficult to tell that the gutter was mangled. Since then, I have referred Ron to one of my neighbor's, who, unbwknownst to me at the time, was observing Ron and his assistant as they cleaned my gutters.

His work was thorough, well executed, and turned out beautifully. We couldn't be happier with the results! This is our second time working with Ron and we have another job lined up for the future.
Description of Work: Converted a detached unfinished workshop into a sound-proofed music room including an amazingly quiet mini heat pump, a new window, and rebuilt the door. He bolted the structure to the foundation for earthquake resistance. He also completely rebuilt and esthetically improved a 30 foot grape arbor while preserving the existing vines (that are now producing!).

Perfect: On time for the first appointment, took measurements and photos. Returned bid by e-mail quickly. Came as scheduled each time to do work. Insured no dry rot, very neat, tidy, no mess. Cleaned up each day. Beautiful job. We wanted to keep the tile on the bathroom counter as it was by Pratt and Larsen, but had to cut all the vertical tile out without damaging the counter top as they joined at a right angle. He did it perfectly. Outstanding job. I will call him first for future work on our home.
Description of Work: Bathroom: I procrastinated on re-grouting the bathroom tile and let water damage get behind the tile. Can't just replace a few tiles. Had to redo all bathroom tile. Ron and his team are perfect. I was so pleased with the bathroom that I immediately had him do the insulation of the addition we put on in 1978, approximately 550 square feet, when only insulation was thick foam around the foundation. Cost above was for both jobs. Bathroom about $1,400.

Our remodel began as a laundry room flood in September. As a first-time remodeler, I didn't expect things to take so long, and we were without laundry for 3 months before the remodel began (because I was so meticulous about using Angie's List to find good contractors!), and the remodel itself went through Thanksgiving and Christmas, including family visiting, there was a cold snap, etc. Ron was very understanding, kind, and helpful with this. He is solid in the basics: He showed up on time, his billing was updated and reviewed with me, and the end result is a gorgeous kitchen. Our circumstances were unusual, and although I had all the colors and choices already picked out, it was difficult to understand how many unforeseen delays could crop up; all of it beyond my control or Ron's control. Ron got my job because he was solid in his bid presentation and he was the "real deal" in the way he did business. Overall, I would NOT recommend a remodel; MOVE INSTEAD! ha ha But if you need a solid contractor who will come through, I would recommend Ron without hesitation. At one point, because of delays in product arrival, things were tense, and Ron went out of his way to make sure we were on good terms, that I was going to be okay with how things were, and he checked in frequently. I also appreciated the fact that Ron is techno-friendly, and we often kept in contact by text or email, which suits me fine.
Description of Work: Complete kitchen and laundry room remodel: Flooring, drywall, lighting, plumbing. Cabinets and countertop by other companies, but Ron Wackerly coordinated with these other companies.

Ron is a flexible person and made himself very available when not at our house. He also is totally willing to let homeowners do some of their own work to save money. In our case, we did our own demolition, taking our walls down to the studs before he and his assistant re-framed portions that needed structural fortification. After his insulators and sheetrockers came, we painted our own walls before the finish work was added. Ron is very personable and tried to be as unobtrusive as possible when working in our home. He always cleaned up and didn?t leave tools lying around, etc. Ron also explained things and didn?t get impatient answering our questions. As the primary contact person throughout the remodel, I appreciated that he didn?t talk down to me and act as though I didn?t know about tools, etc. because I was a woman. Ron is a positive person who is pleasant to work with and have around. He is prompt and very reliable. We found him to be very conscientious. For example, we have indoor-only cats. When Ron had to carry in large loads and leave the door open, he?d first make sure the cats were shut in our bedroom so they couldn?t escape. Ron is resourceful and was good at figuring out how to make things work or fit into the small or odd-shaped spaces in our old house. He has a good overall knowledge of the way things work, and was able to refer us to places we could get things or have procedures done (such as having our doors dipped to strip off layers of lead paint). He also helped us find a plumber who specialized in old plumbing fixtures. Customer satisfaction is very important to Ron. When we had issues with the quality of our sheetrock job, he made sure it was fixed before the job was completed. My husband and I actually will miss having Ron around. He did a great job and was a pleasure to work with.
Description of Work: Ron helped us transform our 70s-era upstairs into a well-crafted modern renovation which still retains the charm of our 1924 farmhouse. He reframed our entire upstairs to bring it up to code and had his subcontractors install insulation, sheetrock, carpet and floor covering. He replaced windows and doors, installed moulding and shelves. He replaced our tub surround with a wonderful decorative tile.

Very sorry I did not get in touch with him, but I can't find any email or phone records of him contacting me. I have had some problems with forwarding emails from my website in the last month, so this could be the problem. Again, I am sorry for this situation.

Grrrrrrrreeeeaaaattttttt. Thrilled with this company, This is the second job we have had Ron do. I could not put a better recommendation out there. The work was superb, and I am one picky dude. Ron and his subs did everything and more than we asked for. I made some changes half way through the project. No problem, they were received and done. I do not normally give high praise to those that we hire. Ron is the exception to that rule. I am normally hesitant to reccomend people (contractors) to friends and family, again Ron is the exception to that rule. The price was very fair, quality was exceptional, communication was just what you want. Hire this guy and save your self a lot of headache, plus you save yourself money. Happy to have hired Ron and he will be the only guy I hire in the future.

Great. No problems. Glad I found Ron.
Description of Work: I had very high radon levels in our 1912 basement. I opted for a total replacement of the cement slab as well as the access stairwell. Ron and his team were highly recommended on Angie’s List and his bid was the lowest of 3. The other contractors were not only outrageously priced, but did not “feel” trustworthy. Ron and his team were on-time every day, respectful and competent. I cannot find one fault with his services. I will definitely recommend and hire Ron again. Work involved removal of old concrete slab with attention paid to wall integrity and headroom. Also, the basement access stairs were rebuilt to meet code and are greatly aesthetically improved! What a pleasure to ambulate up and down solid, safe stairs. If you want quality workmanship, fair price and peace of mind you should do yourself a favor and contact Ron.

Ron was great to work with. He initially returned my first call immediately. He showed up when when he said he would and finished the job in just two days. Great quality. Absolutely no regrets or complaints. I'd highly recommend him to others. Ron has also given me bids for a bathroom and partial basement remodel.
Description of Work: Ron Wackerly was hired to build a new railing on my front porch. I had previously taken down the old rod iron railing last year when I painted my house and porch. The new porch was built with a combination of pre-primared and raw wood. At my request, the railing was left unpainted, of which I completed over the next few days.

Ron was great to work with. He really cares about the work that he does and it shows. I especailly appreciated that he served as a general contractor, coordinating the many parites involved in bring the project together, but at the same time was very hands on with much of the work. HIs years of experience and dedication to a high standard of workmanship were apparent in his endeavors. He was very accomodating of changes and minor upgrades I wanted to make along the course of the project. He was communicative, informative, and responsive throughout the many stages of the garage rebuild. He orchestrated the creation of a garage that could easily be converted to a studio or living space, and I couldn't be happier about it..Thanks, Ron!

From the start, Ron was very professional and prompt. He displayed knowledge and experience and I felt completely confident by the end of our consultation that he was the right guy for the job. He always arrived on time, was friendly, and did a fantastic job. He worked fast and efficiently and I really appreciated that he squeezed me in between other jobs. His price was perfect, too. Also, I have had many workers in my house for repairs, and I have never seen anyone clean up after themselves as well! Definitely one of the best experiences I've had and if we have other repairs that he can do, we'll definitely use him!

The December 2008 snowstorm resulted in an ice dam forming on our roof and water leaking in from the top of our front door and one front picture window. Ron came out and looked at tne job. He listened to our concerns about possible other places that had leaked and concerns about wet insulation. He did the job in a very professional manner, and even took pictures of the insulation when we had to be gone during that part of the repairs. He also checked the other possible water damage sites by going up in the attic and checking the insulation. When he was finished, the living room looked better than ever.
Description of Work: Removed drywall from south and east walls of living room. Dried out water damage. Insulated walls to R-13. Installed, and taped new drywall. Primed and painted new walls to match existing color.

First of all, Ron answered the message I left him promptly, which is always a good sign. I live not too far from him, so he was able to give me a quick turnaround on the quote. Since I wanted the work done sooner vs. later, he was able to work my one day project during a downtime of another project he was doing. The quality of the work was top notch and Ron was very good at explaining what the project entailed.

I needed 5 closet doors shaved because of a new carpet I just had installed. Not only did he fit me in a week early but he also offered to take his shoes off because of the new carpet. This was a heavy job because the doors were solid and had to be carried down three flights to the basement to work on them - 10 trips up and down the stairs.
