Great! Took 2-3 months.
Description of Work: Ron and Mark were so nice to work with! Ron worked with us on the design(kitchen and basement remodel and addition of a bathroom) and he was on site to do most of the work (he and Mark) it oversee a few subcontractors (plumbing, electric, flooring, and kitchen cabinets). He also lives nearby and came to our house late in the evening to help with a couple of water leaks(that turned out to not be related to the work he did). I would totally recommend him!

Description of Work: Arrived on time, both for bid and work. Gave me a reasonable bid, and then improved on the quality of goods, and fixed items himself without charging more. The finish word improves the appearance of the room tremendously. Already thinking of more projects Ron can help me with in the near future.

Description of Work: Roof leak caused damage to ceiling and lath and plaster wall. Ron provided a free estimate and showed us a way to do the repairs for less time and money than we originally thought. He cut areas out to investigate for water damage, then patched and skim coated the walls. He did a fantastic job matching the texture of the adjacent walls. It was a dusty job and he took great care to clean the area during and after the work. He also plays a mean rhythm guitar and was very affable. We will use him again for other jobs around the house including a kitchen renovation.

We are so pleased with the work Ron and his subcontractors did! After contacting Ron for an estimate he came to give us a bid. After comparing his to four other contractors we had bids from, we decided that Ron's estimate was the most thorough and reasonable, plus we Ron seemed like a nice, down to earth guy. The work started about 2 1/2 months after we signed a contract. From start to finish the project took about six weeks. Ron was responsive, always calling to tell us when he or his subs would be there, and then again to check in about the work that was completed. Ron and his subs were courteous and respectful, and always cleaned up after themselves. The attic looks beautiful and Ron really listened to what we wanted and communicated with us the whole time. Plus my one year old baby just adored him! Ron let my son hand him tools and watch him work. Also, Ron fixed our clogged sink just because he's a great guy and he didn't want to wash his hands in a gross sink.
Description of Work: We had our attic remodeled and Ron was hired as our general contractor. Plus he did much of the work himself.

Ron's referral was entirely professional and I will look forward to meeting him in a few days.
Description of Work: I had a short deadline for getting some work done on a client's home. I called Ron and even though he was busy, he recommended two other names to me. Given that I had called 10 handymen before and they were all busy, I truly appreciated the referrals. I called the one Ron recommended and he was available.

We are so happy we found Ron. He returned our call immediately and we set up a time to meet and walk through the garage. Ron made suggestions and recommendations we hadn't thought of which we appreciated. After meeting with several other contractors prior to Ron it was clear that he felt like the right choice. He comes across as honest, professional and easy to talk to. We asked Ron to put an approximate start and end date on the contract prior to us signing it and he was happy to do so. He started the job on time and finished one week ahead of our target deadline. Every day he was either on time or early. Ron works very quickly! He did a lot of the sheet rock work himself and subbed out the electrical and demo. Whenever he handed off a portion of the project to another team member he met with them each morning to go through his expectations. Another small detail we appreciated was Ron's use of email to firm up details. This helps when you can't get away from work to make calls and set up appointments. We would definitely go to Ron again and recommend him to friends and family. Thanks Ron!
Description of Work: We hired Ron to remodel our detached garage to create an office/cottage. He specifically: - Removed old cabinets, old windows, shelving and plywood from walls so original studs were exposed - Re-located existing electrical outlets, installed can lights in ceiling, installed 2 in-wall heaters and external security lights - Boxed in skylight in preparation for sheet rock - Reinforced ceiling beams - Installed 4 new vinyl windows - Installed trim and mouldings around windows and floor - Installed sheet rock throughout and prepared for paint

Ron did a great job. He provided what he promised, when he promised it, and did a good job in minimizing the impact of his work, dust etc. on us. It took approximately a month to complete the work, making good progress every day. Ron is very experienced and is able to handle the 'surprises' of remodeling.
Description of Work: Ron replaced 6 bedroom windows with larger casement windows; removed hall a closet; converted an unused hall way into 2 new closets; Work performed required general carpentry/framing; re-hanging doors; drywall replacement; cedar siding replacement; painting. Ron also supervised the subcontracing of the electrical work necessary and hardwood flooring repair.

Everything went smoothly. He's prompt and reliable.
Description of Work: Removed solid roofed patio cover. Installed trellis by patio. Painted room and hallways. Assembled bookcases. Repaired doors that didn't latch. He also installed floor moldings for my son who moved into a new house. Ron does a terrific job, is very versatile and careful, and is a very pleasant person to have around. I recommend him highly.

Ron brings a wealth of knowledge, experience and a can-do attitude to every project. We tried him out on a first project our major bathroom remodel. Not only was his bid exactly where it needed to be but he was punctual, communicative and everything we were hoping for in a contractor, especially on something as big as this. There's a reason we have had him back on 2 other major projects and a multitude of smaller ones. Not only is he knowledgeable but he also is willing to share his opinions and design ideas. Everything he's done for us kept the feel of our house (an older 1912 home) without feeling like his pieces were "added on". He works hard to make his work blend in with the overall house. His attention to detail is also really really good!
Description of Work: Studs out, complete bathroom remodel (we're talking total gut and rebuild), back yard deck and attic space renovation: put in a ceiling attic ladder, added furring to existing joists so we could have more attic insulation inserted, insulated our attic and then put plywood over the whole thing so that now our house has about 800 sq ft. more, easily accessible storage space. Multiple smaller "handyman" type jobs (fixing a hole here, minor plumbing there).

Job 1: We had used Ron before, so we knew his work ethic. Ron was there everyday, answered all our questions, kept us apprised of the schedule & what was going to happen next. The Job came in on time budget & we are thrilled with the results. Ron was upfront about everything & helped us make the correct decisions when there were 2 or more directions we could go. Job 2: It went very well, Ron gutted everything that needed to be removed & got the old cast iron tub out (this was a 5'6' tub on the 2nd floor so I imagine it was quite a job. 3rd day he had all the framing, wall repair done & we were ready to have the shower tile pan started. He got the new cabinets & counter tops in. Everything proceeded in a timely manner. Only problem we encountered was a defective part in the Shower valve. He ordered the new part & installed it when it arrived. We love the bathroom, the shower has a seating area for shaving legs. The hot towels from the heated towel racks are really nice.
Description of Work: Job 1: Ron remodeled the kitchen, removing several walls & combining 3 rms into the new lg kitchen. He had to install metal beams & supports down to the basement. We installed custom cabinets, marble & soapstone countertops. He moved exterior drs & windows to new locations in the exterior wall. He installed some appliances. The kitchen now has hardwd flrs & a slate entry off of the kt door. He made new passage ways to our living rm frm the kitchen to give better flow. There were challenges & he figured ways to work around all of them ($180,000). Job 2: Remodel of 1 of our upstairs bathrms. He eliminated the door frm the hall so this is now just the master bath off our bdrm. He tore out the tub & then had a 5' by 4' marble & tile shower built w/wrap around ceiling height glass door & walls, vanity & top w/all new fixtures, also a sit down makeup area, electrical fixtures & towel racks. He matched all the woodwork for the new floor & ceiling moldings in the bath & on the hall.($30000).

This was a major project & Ron worked with us hand in hand to give us what we wanted. We had no plan or drawings just a general idea of what we wanted. The project took about 3 months & everything proceeded pretty much according to plan. Ron kept the construction site as clean as possible & kept the dust to a minimum in the rest of the house. Ron tried to talk us into putting in another bathroom during the initial planning stages & I did not think it necessary, now I wish I had listened to him... oh well. We really like how it turned out. I really like having my own mini gym.
Description of Work: Ron converted our unfinished basement & 2nd garage into our new Family Room, laundry, workout & craft room. The total sq ft was approx.1200. Ron removed the garage doors, poured a level slab for the family room, installed a 4 panel door assembly, new ducting, wood floors, cabinets & rubber floor in the workout rm with full wall mirrors. He installed windows, rebuilt stairwell from the main floor & installed new railing, balusters & bead board ($90,000.)
