I had called this morning to arrange to have someone come to fix the outlet. However, husband said, no. He would do it. We provided the new outlet, but because my husband was stubborn and tried to do it himself, we blew the main and had to call again later to have someone come to fix it. Because the call made the repair after 5:00 p.m., it cost an extra $25.00. The repairman was prompt and courteous. We are pleased with his professionalism and a job well done. There was no discount for being a member of Angie's List nor for being senior citizens. I was fine paying and husband won't hear the end of it any time soon.

Provider came out to do an estimate for electrical updating and adding new outlets on the outside of the house. It was a decent sized job. Provider was nice and seemed to know what he was talking about. We were in the process of also getting a heat pump and I asked him if he could give me a bid on that as well. No problem he said, just let him know who was providing heat pump so they could coordinate dates and time. I called and left a message with Provider with this info. and he didn't contact the heat pump company. I left 2 add'tl messages for him but he never called us back. Very unprofessional and a waste of our time because we had to get yet another bid for the work which delayed everything else.

We were stumped as to what was causing our problems. Prairie came out, discovered the issues, and fixed them. They suggested a few modification to help guard against future problems and we've had smooth sailing since.

They were excellent in all area. I was able to make the appointment online and they got back to me right away. They came and took a look. Then they came back on time and did a wonderful job. I did not have to call them at all. I would recommend them and he cleaned up after himself. I knew what it would be. There was no hassle. I would use them again

So far so good. They were friendly and responsive. Quick getting out here. Quality of the work was good. I told the guy to let me know when he started the work to let me know, so I could show him the electrical panel to shut off the power. He started the work and then sparks started going everywhere. They got it done quickly. He quoted me at a lower rate and then calculated the price on site and it was higher, but then I told him about the quote and he gave me the quote price. He went above and beyond, he stayed around to answer questions. All in all it was good.

They refused to review the work they had already done without charging for a new job. They are not a union shop, so there is no telling how well trained and competent their employees are.

The first time they came, that job went well & reasonable. We asked to have a quote, but was told that, why do that when they would have to charge for their time to do it. They came out said project should take 6 hours. Unfortunately, they tapped into ungrounded electricity & thought that shouldn't be a problem. When we said that was not right & to fix it, they took 4 more hours to do so and charged for that too. Ridiculous! If a plumber were to "tap into" a line without water, that certainly would not be the customer's fault & they would have to make good. I think the same goes for the electricians and they should have tested first. Additionally, the next morning our heater was no longer venting heat to the house. Called the HVAC guys out & they found that a dampener's screw had been loosened so that it was stuck in the closed position & heat could not pass. Coincidence, maybe. The HVAC guys couldn't be sure either way. However, they also found that much of the ducting had been disturbed and crushed since their last visit (the only other folks up there were the electricians), such that they needed to fix all of that too. So, that cost us an additional $400 for that work.

I've used them for years and they have always been very thorough, very professional, and very friendly. If there are problems with the electrical I have, they keep me informed on what's happening and why and the cost that goes with it. They're very good about that.

He found the problem and fixed it, quickly and at a reasonable rate. I wouldn't call anyone else for electrical needs, big or small.

we purchased an old house, it had some bad wiring in light fixtures wfhich he repaired. he did an excellent job at a reasonable cost.

The only reason I did not give them an F was because of responsiveness. Otherwise an F because they did not submit an estimate to us. We hired someone else.

They did a good job, they were on time and they were friendly.

I called at7:30 AM and they were here by 10:30 AM! All work was completed within an hour.

I called on a Friday looking for help to get power back on to a fair number of outlets that had suddenly stopped working after I had someone pressure wash my house. I knew what to look for-check circuit breakers, check the GFI switches, but everything I trie wasn't working. I knew it was something simple, but was at a loss, so called for a service call. after talking with Tom, he gave me some things to look for, and voila, problem resolved without anyone having to come out. Who would have guessed that the GFI that controls my kitchen and outdoor outlet would be on the opposite side of the house, in a very obscure place. Thanks for being willing to spend the time with me on the phone. That's not very common these days.

This company was very helpful. It took several visits to find the cause of the problem, but while they were troubleshooting, the electricians were able to fix some other minor electrical issues. Once the issue was found, the repair was done quickly. The company was very flexible with my work schedule. They arrived promptly or would call if they were going to be a few minutes late.

PrairieElectric was the company that did all the electrical work on my new home. They overlooked a dimmer switch for the pendant lights that was in the original home contract. They came within a few days of my call to replace the regular light switch with a dimmer switch. They (two personnel) arrived on time to do the work, Since they were on site to replace the switch I asked them to do one more task, add an outlet to the front hall. There was a switch and an outlet on the other side of the wall so I knew it was a simple and quick fix. It was simple and quick. They completed both jobs in about 45 minutes. They said they would send me the bill. When I got the bill it said if was for replacing the dimmer switch and the outlet. I thought the labor and materials charge was about right for both tasks, except I already paid for the dimmer switch. I immediately called and they said the invoice was incorrect. It should have only listed the outlet. The parts were a little high $14 for an outlet, cover, box, and five feet of wire but I can overlook that overcharge. I can not overlook the two hour charge that was completed mostly by one person in less than 45 minutes. I had an outlet installed in my apartment last year, while waiting for my new house to be built, and it was completed in less than an hour by a maintenance person, not a trained electrician, let alone two trained electricians.

They were excellent, prompt and efficient. Also personable.

When I requested a service person, I told the scheduling person what I wanted to accomplish. Between the scheduling phone call and the work appointment I thought of something else the electrician could do. When I advised the service man of the extra work he complained that I hadn't included that work with the scheduling person and that he was already behind time and he said the extra work would take too long at the time and that I wanted too much additional work done in the way that I thought I wanted the finished project. I don't think I needed a lecture on what I did wrong, and on how I was asking for too much work to be done, and that he was just too busy to get the extra work accomplished. I didn't need that. On top of that, he charged me almost $200.00 for an hour and a half's work; to much to mly way of thinking.

It went very well. Dean was on time, got right to work and cleaned up thoroughly when he was through. He answered all my daughter's questions and explained what he was doing. We were completely happy with his work.

The experience was very good. He showed up promptly. He was very informative, works quickly to try and help me save money.

I have been prompted several times to review this company. I did not end up using Prairie Electric. I called several electricians on Angie's List, but did not have much luck. Prairie Electric did come out and give us a bid, however when we had to cut back the scope of the project, we never heard back from them with a revised estimate. There was a lack of interest when we told them we could not afford all of the work we would have desired to have done. No follow-up or follow through with the revised bid.

They have been to my house before for other electrical things we needed to have worked on. They were very professional. They arrived at the time they were scheduled to arrive. They were careful around the house to not damage floors or walls. They cleaned themselves after they left. I was very pleased with them. They have sent different persons at different times, but all of them have been very good. They are good at troubleshooting. Electricians are not cheap, but these guys are reasonable.
