+ -1 moreColin came to the house within an hour of my call. Considering that it was a Sunday and the day after New Year's, we were very impressed. Colin determined where the leak was and that it wasn't an emergency. This allowed them to put 2 men on the job on Monday. They also extended the house shut-off valve to an inside closet so that in the future, we could turn off the water to the entire house inside the house. (Prior to this, turning off the water to the house required using a long pole, looking down a deep hole in the ground outside the house, and turning a valve which was impossible to see.)
Description of Work: They replaced the leaky pipe from the house to the meter at the road. They also extended the whole-house shut-off valve so that the water to the house can be shut off inside the house.

+ -1 moreThe bulk of the work went well as several plumbers showed up to do the "quick" work. Then left single plumber to add new hose bib and replace cartridge. This part was slower but finished professionally. Very pleased with end results.

+ 0 moreThe plumbers showed up on-time, did the requested work, charged what they had bid, and cleaned up after themselves. My only complaint is that I really needed a pressure reducing valve (PRV) to cut the water pressure from the street into the house and that was not mentioned at bid-time. The PRV was not required but recommended. I think the bid person should have told me about that. The additional cost was $300 over the bid. It wouldn't have changed my decision to use Sarkinen and the cost was reasonble but I would have preferred knowing about it up-front. To be fair, the other 2 bids I got didn't mention it either ... but they should have too.
Description of Work: Replaced water main from meter to house (punched new pipe under drive-way and garage into the crawl-space). Replaced water heater. Replaced outside hose bib.

Description of Work: My kitchen faucet broke on Friday afternoon and the technician was able to come within several hours but had another emergency with more serious consequences so we agreed he would return Saturday morning. I also asked him if it might be possible for him to repair or replace two leaking outside faucets at the same time and we agreed to that work as well.

+ -1 moreCalled company in the morning when I noticed water leaking in our garage. They said they would get back to me by the end of the day and they did arrive by 5:30pm to fix the pipe. The plumber said they charged a flat rate of around $190 no matter how long or short a job it was. Turns out it was a pretty easy fix, took less than 20 minutes from start to finish. Plumber said they fixed the price that morning when they received a lot of calls and knew they were going to have a lot of business that day due to all the frozen pipes. He was polite and did a good job, but I wished I had called around and checked prices first. I went with this company based on their ratings and they also listed a coupon. They did honor the coupon for $20.

+ -1 moreIt couldn't have gone better. Getting right on it saved us much grief and money. Had we waited another day the pipes would have likely burst inside the wall which would have been a much bigger problem to fix. They were here quickly and fixed it in less that 30 minutes.
Description of Work: 15 degrees out this morning and we had a frozen faucet which was building a glacier around itself. I called them @ 11:00 and they were here by 3:00 pm.

+ -1 moreIt went very well . . . they came out quickly and crawled around under the house. No leak was found. As it turned out my outdoor faucet wasn't turned tightly off. I felt stupid . . . but while here I had them install a new line and faucet to my outdoor garden area and service a faucet in the back that wasn't shutting off properly . . . They were great ! I will use them for any plumbing needs I should have in the future. Also had them give me an estimate for installing a dishwasher that I have sitting in the garage . . . nice people all the way around !

+ 0 moreDoug did a great job, found the plug and hydro jetted out the remaining downspouts since we had to pay for an hour he was agreeable to do all that would fit in that hour of time. Had them come back out yesterday due to the ground looking cracked to make sure nothing had come loose, Tony looked with their camera and found everything was ok, just the rain and dry ground. No charge for the re-visit. Would use again, very friendly, prompt, same day service, courteous and professional.

I called at 5 pm and had someone here 20 minutes later. Within 3 hours we had a new water heater. They were very professional and after he was done the neighbor's had him check out a plugged toilet. Will use them again very happy with the speed and responsiveness especially on the weekend.

+ -1 moreSarkinen was very quick in returning my call and sent someone out very quickly. The estimate was $190 to repair both toilets. Some research was required so they had to get back to us. We paid $95 for the house call, and the plumber left to do the research. After he got back to us with a revised estimate, we decided not to have the rest of the work done.

+ -1 moreDuring the great Winter storm of 2008 my water main broke. Specifically a sprinkler T inline with the water main. I was desperate to get it fixed before the weekend, because it was a Friday. I called Sarkinen plumbing that morning around 8:30am and they were onsite a few hours later. I was able to get into work for the last half the day knowing my water was going to be available during the weekend. They put a temporary fix in place until they could get the right parts and returned on Monday, as promised, to put a permanent solution in place.

+ -1 moreDarrell did an excellent job and made sure our pipes were fixed correctly so as not to have any problems in the future, as the original fix by a handy man was substandard and the reason for the pipes bursting.
Description of Work: My water pipe under my house broke on a Sunday afternoon and we had to call a plumber immediately. Sarkinen Plumbing was the only plumber available on such short notice. Their plumber, Darrell, came out within a couple of hours of our initial call and temporarily fixed our broken pipe so we could have water for Sunday through Monday. He stated there was much more work to be done, but it would be cheaper if he came back on Monday to finish the work correctly so we wouldn't be charged double time for the entire fix. I thought this was fantastic of him to think about our finances in such a tough economy as his initial one hour's worth of work on Sunday cost us $205.58, whereas his 6 hours worth of work on Monday cost us $251.00. I was extremely grateful for his concern of our costs.
