Overall I am happy with the results, the scheduling was a bit difficult at first, not the providers fault, as I was looking to install an in ground lift and we had to work with another party's schedule. Joel is a nice guy and delivers what he promises, would not hesitate to use him again.

I do not have anything positive to say about this company's work as they didn't give me a bid so the work was not done. I asked for a quote to repair and reseal our front porch. Was told he could not fix the chips in the porch. But that he could reseal it. While he explained he was very busy, the fact that he never got back with a quote was disappointing. Will continue looking for another company to perform this service. Will likely wait until spring when weather is better.

Joel and his crew were very professional. They actually completed the work ahead of schedule. All clean up was handled very efficiently. The finished product was just as we agreed to. I would recommend them and would use them again.

we haggled on the price a bit. the job went exactly the way he said it would. he and his crew were prompt, efficient, easy to understand , as i know little to nothing about concrete optionsand terms. we could not be happier. even tho i am sure he does far more extensive jobs, he seemed pleased to do a small-ish job like we were requesting. we WILL hire him again. my husband is deathly allergic to the lime in wet concrete, so one could say he did a life saving job.

All went well. Joel kept in contact with us at all stages to let us know what to expect. Joel was easy to talk with and to ask questions. All the workers were friendly and helpful. They asked several times if there was anything else we wanted to complete the job and have the finished look/job we expected.

The fact that Joel only responded to text messages was frustrating. Hard to ask questions and face to face is more respectful if you are running a business. We were quoted 2800 but add the extra feet. Joel suggested we pour up to the drip sill of the house. He said it would look good. He is the professional and we trusted his judgment. He couldn't give a solid date as to when he would start and didn't show up until the morning of the pour to set the forms. I was concerned about this and he said not to worry. Well the forms didn't appear to be the right ones to me. He stacked two boards on top of each other almost all the way around, I had asked for a soft curve to finish off on one end. That didn't happen. The boards were placed wrong and we ended up with 2 peaks. On the 4th of July my husband removed most of the forms but didn't want to risk damage forcing the last few out. Joel said he would be by on the 7th about 3 pm. Didn't happen. I called Angie's List and they said we need to give him the opportunity to fix the issues. I texted him the next morning and let him know that I had talked to them and had not filed a formal complaint yet. Told him the forms should already have been removed. Also now have a few cracks in the concrete. We showed him the first one on the 8th when he finally removed the forms. He said that you would get hair line cracks. No not within a week!!! He came out on the 10th of July to take off the peaks. Told me he should have brought a saw. I agreed then he used the jack hammer to do it anyways. One of his crew members took a chunk out the frame on our back door. Saw dried concrete being shoved into the cinder blocks we have lined along the property line. I had to clean off the back and side of my house from all the splatter and after Joel finished hammering off the excess that ran out from under the forms he said he didn't think it was going to end up as thick as it did. I expected a nice clean edge on the finished product, as most people who want a nice home would. We got a poorly finish product that is cracking and didn't make it a week before this happened. I feel he overbooks his jobs. The reason why he didn't come out immediately on the 8th to remove the forms is that he had scheduled a pour some where else. I got many excuses. If your looking for a contractor to do a so-so job, he's your guy. Oh and you should keep the concrete wet when the weather is so hot. He told me to water it down later on the day of the pour. Thank god I kept it wet everyday of the week and even after he removed the forms or it could of been worse. You see he didn't tell me to do it someone else did. But Joel said that was a good thing.

I would say my experience was okay but there are definate areas of improvement for Kailua. We had built the forms for the patio ourselves (all except the steps) and prepped for the patio to be poured. Kailua Const came out to look at it to make sure it was done correctly and we scheduled a day to pour. My husband had directed them where to clean their tools and how he wanted the steps to be. The crew showed up on time the day of and went right to work on building the forms for the steps. Good thing I went out and looked because they had built the forms incorrectly on the sliding glass door, it was on the wrong side of the opening and we had told them we wanted it across the entire door previously. When I showed him the mistake and asked him to make it across the entire door they said they didn't have any more material to do it. We had some extra wood laying around so they were able to do it but I was a little shocked about their lack of supply. Any how the concrete truck came and they poured the concrete and the patio looks great except that step out the sliding glass door is not straight and looks a little funny. The last thing is we had a pile of gravel in our driveway that we used to prep the patio with and we were using the remaining for around our shed in the backyard. Well they decided to clean off their excess concrete into our pile of gravel...which is not where my husband told them to. We had a HUGE mess that we were left with and we ended up losing some of our gravel because of it. I don't think we should have had to clean up their mess including the food and empty gatorade bottles around our backyard. I'm happy (for the most part) with the finished product but I think they need to work on their cleaning up after a project and be sure to listen to what the customer wants because we almost ended up with half the step we wanted on the wrong side of the door opening.

Joel and his crew gave us a very reasonable bid. They came out and installed the forms on a horribly rainy day. A week later they poured the curvy walkway. We were worried about how it would come out but Joel assured us it would look good and it did. They were very courteous and good with our kids. I highly recommend them!

We ended up using another provider.

Put in a curb to keep out water flow, cut a large hole in concrete in shed and sloped new concrete to an added drain that was trenched and piped away from shed.. Added gravel and lured a 6 x6 pad. Compacted gravel/rock in another area. Love these guys!

Everything went well. They were quick, efficient, and professional. We would recommend them.

Joel was very prompt in coming over to give an estimate. Communication after that was principally by email which was efficient. He and helper removed the concrete, cut the tree roots, removed soil, compacted remaining soil, set up barricades at the sidewalk & hauled away debris. Joel was flexible as we weren't sure whether we would have to repair a drainpipe running under the sidewalk. He was willing to allow us the few hours we would have needed to make a repair but it turned out unnecessary. His willingness to accommodate a possible unknown eased our minds. We had to wait a bit for the work to start as this was a small job and it might be possible for our concrete order to be part of a larger job order so as not to have to pay a premium for a special small quantity concrete order. In the end Joel decided to go ahead and mix the concrete himself. Overall there were some timing delays due to the rain and cold but we were usually advised of a schedule change. It was about 2 1/2 weeks from estimate to finish.

Joey, the owner is very professional and considerate along with his crew. I had the job as soon as they had an opening and then were punctual and did an awesome job!

They did a great job matching the existing exposed aggregate cement work. We are very happy with the quality of the work and Joel and his team were great to work with. In particular, we appreciated their flexibility in making some changes to the layout of the steps to accommodate our needs. It was very clear in how they approached the job that meeting our needs was their highest priority. We would not hesitate to use them again. Highly recommended

It went great. The weather wasn't cooperative during the project, but Joel and crew got it done.

They did a great and fantastic job. They had it all done by the time we got it scheduled. We were kind of playing back and forth because of the weather and the owner of the company was in contact more with my husband than myself but he committed to the day and had the crew out here. They had it done within five to six hours and covered everything with plastic because it was about to start raining and gave us really good instructions to uncover it in 24 hours and do not park on it until this day. The work turned out great. They were very clean. We had no problems with them. Their price was kind of in the middle ballpark so it was fine. We would absolutely use them again in the future.

I did not use them, but they did a very fine job. Timing was the reason I did not use them. He arrived on time and was a nice guy, but I decided not to get the job done.

He was very professional, and he came out pretty quickly within a day or two. We were doing something together with our neighbors on our property line.

I thought that he was a real practical person. I asked him about some other work to be done and he said that he didn't think that would be wise, it would be investing too much money in something that wouldn't pay off. I thought he was very, very good. He suggested an alternate method of having a flower edge along the driveway and I liked that. He seemed to know exactly what he was doing. His people came and they ripped out the driveway one day and the next day the approach to the driveway and they were going to pour the following day but that didn't happen because they put a hold on our house and said call us on Monday don't go any further with your work. I asked if I could have him finish the driveway and have someone else do the approach and they said no, he was not licensed. I've been meaning to call and ask if he's gotten his license renewed because they said he lost it in January and he sounded like it was going to be rectified. I've been living without a driveway. I thought he was very realistic, down to earth, helpful and very nice. He did a great job for what he did. He got it all excavated.

It took two days to frame out the pad and wall with rebar. And a day for the pour. A couple additional days for removal and cleanup. It's a couple months now and so glad we had it done. And still very glad we used Kailua.

The punctuality is good but for the communication they rely more on email.

I originally called Joel to get an estimate on the cost of repairing cracked concrete under a porch column. He called me back the same day (while standing in my yard) to tell me that the concrete was fine and not at risk of failing. The only issue was if the look of the crack bothered me. He said if I wanted to, I could just get filler at the hardware store. He said he wanted to make sure I didn't let anyone else tell me that it was a problem and had to be fixed. I appreciated his honesty and response so much that when I decided to have my backyard patio extended, Joel was the first person I called. When he was preparing the estimate, I happened to mention that I might have a connecting sidewalk poured next summer. Joel told me that for the short length of sidewalk, it would cost quite a bit more to have it done separately. He said it would only cost about $400 to have it done at the same time as the patio since the concrete truck would already be there. Shortly after I accepted his estimate, he had people out leveling the area, putting in forms, sealing off part of my irrigation system and hauling in a gravel bed. Bad weather did cause a bit of a delay in pouring the concrete but Joel kept me in the loop on the schedule and then did exactly what he said he would do. It was very helpful that he let me know the timing frequently via text msg while we were waiting for the weather to improve. This allowed me to plan so my dogs would not be in his way. Both the finished patio and the sidewalk are exactly the shape I wanted. Joel filled the crack in the front patio that I had originally called him about for no charge. He also hauled away extra yard debris from a separate project (as I do not have a truck). I would definitely call Joel again if I have additional concrete work.

Joel was timely and professional. His crew did a good job, cleaned up after things were finished and Joel's follow up was excellent. I will highly recommend his company to my neighbors and friends.

Procedure overall was excellent. Due to issues beyond their control it did take a few days longer than estimated.
