Needed leaky outside facet fixed. Then asked about a new kitchen sink & installation of an insinkerator we had purchased. He purchased sink for us after hearing what we wanted & installed it & the insinkerator. He was great! But then we found out we had no water in our fridge, so called. It took several days, but he came back out & found he had forgotten to reconnect. All in all, it was a good experience & we would have him do work for us again . He would get a top rating, the office staff not so much, she kept trying to put back on us & come to find out she didn’t have the knowledge & kept having to ask others to answer our questions. If we could have called the person who did the work it would have been so much easier & faster as he would have had the knowledge of what he did & what he may have forgotten to do. Again he was top notch!!!

It went well. D&F even matched the cost for our new water heater with one my spouse found that was priced lower. The technician was excellent and took time to explain all we needed to know about the new wh. Will definitely go through D&F next time we need any such service.

Plumber did not accurately address the problems with the upgrade performed. Company would not answer customer complaint about it. This company is mostly a marketing company, not a plumbing company that puts customers needs first.

I Cannot Express How Bad The Results Were. I Feel Like I Was Scammed. I Am A Senior Citizen Surviving On A Very Limited Income. The $540.00 I Paid To D & F Plumbing Was A Huge Amount For Me. The Leak Was NOT DETECTED, And I Feel Like I Was Taken Advantage Of. At This Point, I Am Not Sure What To Do. I Know Some Attorneys, But I Do Not Know If Any Of Them Handle This Sort Of Stuff. I Am Thinking Of Contacted The BBB, But I Am Sure That D & F Couldn't Care Less About That. Joseph N. Huereña

James snaked the drain and found that it had collapsed in a few places. I was not prepared to have the work done today. However, James was very kind and respectful of my budget and my time. He did what I could afford today and is sending an estimate for the additional work. Thank you, James!

Phil explored the least expensive options first and explained everything along the way. Ended up needing a new fixture (the old one was filled with gunk) but he was able to install it same day. Great experience.

it went well James S. came out to help find source of warped kitchen floor. He determined they was a leak under the kitchen area somewhere. That the pipes are PVC and 20+ years old and need replaced. I would recommend James anytime. He was very friendly and helpful.

TLDR: They charge 3-5X the market rate for basic services and scam you into it with their "convenient flat rate" pricing. That's all you need to know. I can recommend MP Plumbing, ProDrain and sometimes Apollo from years of experience across all my rental properties. Details below. ---------------- I've written maybe 2 bad reviews in ~15 years...this will be another...not out of spite, but more as a public service announcement to keep D&F from swindling others. Though I think it would be a service to Portland if these folks just went out of business. I have several residential rental properties and a commercial property with all the maintenance and remodeling that comes with them...for 20 years now. Consequently, I know what things cost and have dealt with many plumbers. Though my favorites are a individual contractors, sometimes I have to call the "big firms". MP and ProDrain are my go-to's for that, but they had a couple week lead time, so had to roll the dice....enter D&F. I had a simple job - replace a wax ring on a leaking residential toilet. This is a 30-90 minute job (just ask any plumber). At $150/hr (MP's rate if mem serves), this is a $145-$257 job. D&F charged their "simple flat rate fee" of $535...for a wax ring. UNBELIEVABLE! But better yet, they said a new toilet shutoff valve was needed (entirely possible...it was old)...that was $225...for a 15 minute job. And then they suggested a new toilet (didn't pressure, just gave me the option)...for which they wanted over $1000 for the toilet itself. Nice Kohler toilets can be had for less than $300. Their business model is low initial visit charge ($119), organized customer service, and then overcharge you with their "convenient flat rate fee" for their "plumbing solutions". So basically get in the door for a low price and showing up on time, then corner you when they are onsite because if you don't accept their pricing, then you just wasted $119 on their service call and you have to find/call/schedule another plumber. Smart model, but not fair and just preys on people who don't know what these things should cost. I bare some responsibility here because I should've asked what their billing model is...but I never thought a business with such a long history in Portland could be so awful...but they are. And they have "good reviews" that I suspect must be manufactured by services that do such things. It was only an $800 mistake for me, but hoping to save $$ for others. This post has been followed up with a complaint to the Better Business Bureau and Oregon Contractors Board. These people should change their ways or not be in business - they are completely unscrupulous. I am taking time to do this (and write this review) because, yes, they are THAT BAD. Note: I played phone tag with D&F for 3 days to make sure I made contact with someone there who could make my situation right before writing this review. They declined to do so and just argued illogically with me.

James S arrived the same day we reached out to D&F. He was extremely knowledgeable and very patient with our many questions. James was able to provide details to his estimating department and get us back a proposal before departing.

I had them come in to look at my sum pump that stopped working. I was told I need a new one and the charge is $2500. Which I rejected and just paid them for showing up. Since I k ew a brand new pump was u see $700. Another company came in and said it works you just had wipes stuck in it and charged me $100. All I can say is WOW.

The detection work was well done and accurate, but they charged 500 dollars for an hour or so of work. The estimate to repair the leak came to $2300 which was obscenely high. I have opened up the wall and the leak is in one joint. Another plumber says they can repair for 200, more than 10 times less. This is pricing geared to exploit unaware buyers. I would not call them again

We called them in for a shower installation. They charged a "Flat Rate" which amounted to nearly $450 an hour. Their point of contact was rude, and entitled and they didn't give us a choice in what shower we could install. The one they did install is terrible and wildly overpriced. They tore out WAY more wall than necessary which they did not repair nor did they have a partnered framing and drywall person available to repair it. Basically leaving us with no useable bathroom. After their service, our shower spits rusty water every time you turn it on which had never happened before. They installed the showerhead off center. Their customer service staff are awful. When I called about the insane bill they kept saying "We charge a Flat Rate" and "all our journeymen are licensed." as though that somehow excused charging $450 an hour for a bad shower install. The final cost was nearly $8,000 for about 8 hours of work, less the MSRP of the shower. For that price, with a decent contractor, we could have almost paid for a full remodel that we would have actually liked and had a choice in. Instead, we're left with this. We've filled a CCB complaint but I doubt that will amount to anything. All I can say is, if you have any plumbing needs, do not use D&F.

Horrible. I was quoted $800 to replace a washer. And a screw. Felt like I was in an episode of The Twilight Zone. Absurd. I paid $119 to be told this. Feel like I got ripped off big time. I will not recommend these people.
