Getting the bid and talking through the process was extremely clear. They were able to see our needs and draft a bid in one meeting. By the end of our very thorough consultation, we knew exactly the product we were getting and what specifically we were paying for to the dollar. After the first consultation, we met with the foreman who was clear and professional. He talked us through each step of the process. Once the actual construction began, the property was cared for, and all crew members worked efficiently and professionally. It was clear that they followed a strict protocol. After working with other contractors who were unclear, slow, and inefficient, it was such a breath of fresh air to collaborate with an honest company. We would recommend Cascade Fence and Deck to anyone!

I asked for about 5 bids from different companies about a new fence. Cascade Fence was the first to respond. An appointment was set to meet Mike, who talked me through the process, and also walked around my yard to make note of everything that I wanted done. Mike was extremely personable and professional. A few days later, quotes were emailed to me, quotes listing all materials, etc. They were exceptionally written/professional quotes. Cascade gave me quite a few options to consider. I was sticker shocked at the cost, but they were my first response so I wasn’t going to disregard their quotes and they did come back and discuss some other alternatives for me to consider which dropped the price to be a bit more competitive. I then started receiving other quotes from other companies I had contacted, but most of them were just emails stating they could do the fencing for a certain amount. Being a single woman I was not comfortable with an email that stated the price it would cost but nothing showing the actual materials, etc. that would be used for the job, or even stating they needed to see the yard/property first. And that scared me. So, even though Cascade was quoting me more than the other quotes I received, their professionalism won me over; and their reputation. I had 176 feet of 7’ fencing, 86 feet of 6’ fencing, and 30 feet of 3’ fencing, totaling about 242 feet of fence altogether; also two gates. They worked with me to include the fence in part to enclose my carport, which I wasn’t sure could be done. Cascade’s quote listed exactly what I wanted done, all the details: Types of wood, how many rails, what type of posts (I went with steel since I was doing 7’ fencing), depth of post holes (3’ since 7’ fencing), just all of the details spelled out. And they offer a 5 year warranty, which only one other company stated that in their quote. Once I signed a contract to go with Cascade, I was then told when the job would start. I was quite anxious when the day came. It did take about 4 weeks until they were able start, and the only downside to that was the yard foliage had grown quite a bit, so they had a lot of foliage to dig up, which I don't think they expected. They were not able to dispose of my large quantity of yard debris, so that was an added expense for me, but Cascade did dispose of all of the old fencing. Once they arrived the foreman of the working crew, Josh, was able to ease any discomfort or anxiety that I had. He was awesome! He answered any and every question I had during the building of the fence and he listened to my concerns and addressed them accordingly. His crew was also extremely helpful and kind when I asked any questions. They were here three days and worked diligently throughout each day. On the finishing day, Josh walked me around the yard and the fence to make sure everything was up to my standards. The finished fence looks gorgeous and I now have SO much privacy in my yard. I would not hesitate to recommend Cascade Fence even if you have to stretch your budget a bit. The comfort level that I maintained throughout the entire process was worth the extra cost for me, customer service goes a long way with me and they excelled in customer service.

Ridiculous Price quote. Buyer beware. I think the salesman thought I was a gullible senior citizen. Didn't know I worked in Verizon Finance for years and knew how to do the math. The quote was more than the square footage of building a new house.

I called after hours and their voice mail said to leave a message and they would call back the next business day----which they did! They arrived 15 minutes early for the consultation meeting----a pleasant surprise! They arrived every day on schedule and cleaned up every evening (as much as feasible!). On the final day they stayed until almost 7:00 p.m. to avoid having to have me be there the following day. First class service! I would use again----and recommend and endorse!

These Five Star ratings for Cascade Fence & Deck are FOR REAL!! Cascade truly lived up to all the glowing reviews I read. The Cascade estimator, Zach, gave me an estimate back in early May and he was right up front about the 6 weeks out on install schedule. I had rushed my initial fence install 20 years ago and really regretted that decision. You want a Company with crews that are kept busy! First, Zach called ahead, was on time and did very thorough job on the estimate. I had approx. 120 feet of fence in two sections. He asked lots of questions about what I wanted and had photos of all the options and of Cascade's work. The estimate is by computer pricing, not "by eye" and Cascade holds to their estimate to the penny. If you don't want that costly "surprise", this is the company for you. I had three estimates done by other contractors, and Zach was the only one to physically show me that the fence posts were rotten at the ground, he stuck his finger into the post to the first knuckle. Two other estimators were willing to put new fence on rotten posts to try for the job. Zach said Cascade couldn't warranty that, so they couldn't do the job without new posts. That is integrity. Zach was also the only estimator to suggest saving money by having #1 boards to the street side, but using #2 boards between myself and the neighbor's yard. A few more knotholes, but just as durable. Since I had large existing vines on the fence and a couple of other install concerns, he took photos AND videos for the crews to look at so they would be prepared. Thorough. After he left, I wiggled one of my posts and it snapped off just like he said it would. That would have happened during the install by the other bidders, and would have caused a delay and increased the price. The scheduling, online payment processing and communications with Sharon at the office were all very efficient. I called before the install to double check on special order items, and they physically verified those were in my “package” ready for the crews. No Delays. The crews are really the heart of this operation. Two each, two-man crews showed up on the first day. Josh, the crew head, had my contract and layout and he walked through the entire job to verify all the details, where they were going to stage materials, the time frame, the procedure and the spacings. I wasn’t as ready as I could have been, but there were absolutely no complaints from any of the crew. They helped me where I needed it and worked around me where necessary. Their professionalism was extraordinary. From the expected removal of boots to keep the house clean to the unexpected comradery and competition between crews, you could tell this was not a contract or piecework crew. To find out that this company provides health insurance, a 401K and a 40-hour week to their employees really explained why the crews had so much pride in their work. Old fence deconstructed, 27 new postholes dug, new posts installed and concreted in 7 hours. Next day, all rails, gates and pickets installed and a complete cleanup. It rained all the second day and I didn’t hear a single complaint. Impressive. But, I do have to say, though John and Calvin edged out Josh and Tim in first day trials (hole digging), I truly believe Josh’s experience and Tim’s strength put them in the front by the end of day two (posts and pickets). Sorry, Johnnie, just the way I saw it. Thanks guys, for a job well done.

Scott gave a great estimate, Cory kept us updated on installation dates, and lastly Louie and his team, Dustin, Scott and Rohan did a fantastic job on install with record time. What a great professional crew!

Mike came out and said we need to replace about 13 boards and he would get back with an estimate but after I emailed him said the job was to small.

We have a porch that wraps around the front of our house. It was very difficult to keep it looking good - even after completely sanding and re-staining it. We've had a good experience with Cascade when they replaced some old fencing for us. They came through again with this project. Their crew was knowledgeable. They did a great job installing the new decking. The decking material (Vista Ironwood decking) seems extremely strong, durable and has already proven to be easy to rinse clean with just a hose. Cascade took care to minimize damage to the plants and trees around the deck. They did a thorough clean-up when they were done.

We have a simple house in a simple neighborhood. The workmanship and quality was evident from the moment they starting installing. We love the look and privacy of the Molalla. We love the ArmorLock system.

Cascade Fence & Deck was a pleasure to work with on our new front porch/deck from start to finish! We spoke with several contractors about the job, but after discussing it in detail with several different people at Cascade, including my numerous questions and comments, I was convinced that they were the people that would get the job done for me. And I was right! Scott came out, scoped out the job, and provided the estimate. He was very professional, knowledgeable, and helpful, and he made sure that every detail of the project was documented. After Scott’s visit, Cory came out to look at the site and lay out the various aspects of the project. He videoed the site and recorded notes to make sure the install team was aware of the relevant details. His layout work was an important reason the whole job came out perfect. Corey came out again on the first day of the job and worked with the crew on the foundation for the porch/deck. It was not the easiest installation because of the tight space and variable slopes in both directions. I think Corey’s supervision and assistance on the foundation was a critical factor in the outcome of the job. I was impressed with his skills and attention to detail. Josh and John came out with Corey on the first day of the job to help with the foundation and then continue on with building and finishing the porch/deck that day and then by themselves on the second day. They were extremely friendly, courteous, and professional, and I was very impressed with their knowledge, craftsmanship, and attention to detail! We decided to add a short section of railing to the job when they were nearing completion on the second day. They had the necessary materials, and did an excellent job with the addition at no extra charge. It turned out fantastic and looks great! I am retired so I was able to observe the whole job on both days, and these guys exceeded all of my expectations, and never cut any corners. I was also pleased to find out that Cascade uses their own employees (not subcontractors) and provides them with benefits. Satisfied employees are critical to good quality work, and Cascade has taken the steps to ensure that their people are taken care of. My interactions with Sharon in the office both for scheduling and payment were very pleasant. She is competent and professional just like the work crews. I could not possibly offer a stronger recommendation for a contractor and I am more than happy with the finished product. It’s very refreshing to know there are professionals like Cascade out there that have high standards and that rank customer satisfaction as a high priority. I will use them again, and would recommend them without hesitation.

We needed a fence for a large lot in Portland. We contacted over 10 contractors for pricing and estimates, and Cascade was by far the most professional from the start. Mike was great to work with, and after working back and forth for a few days was able to give us on-the-fly estimate adjustments for different fence options. Once we worked out an appropriate strategy, Cory came by to map it out on the property and try to preemptively minimize unforseen issues. When the actual installation team came out, we were again impressed with the friendly team and attention to detail. Trent, Darren, Jake, Kelvin, and Scott worked through a lot of tricky site issues and delivered a beautiful, high quality fence. Throughout the whole process, my wife and I were both very happy with the level of attention given to customer satisfaction. The pricing was a little bit higher than a few of the other contractors that we spoke with, but after our experience we think it was well worth the investment. I can’t say enough good things about Cascade Fence and Deck! Earlier this year, I worked with Cascade Fence and Deck to re-fence our entire property (back and side yards). Their pricing was competitive especially for the vinyl fencing style I selected. Sharon was wonderful to work with and facilitated communication and scheduling. Cory was professional and efficient during our initial walkthrough. The installation crew were polite, helpful, professional, knowledgeable and did a FANTASTIC job overall (despite accidently hitting the gas line in which they quickly fixed with no issues). Salesperson, Scott, was very courteous, honest, professional, efficient, and had great communication. Thank you, Scott! Scott and entire Cascade Fence and Deck team made the entire fencing process easy and straight-forward. Lastly, what I love and could sense from the Cascade Fence and Deck team was that they treated and cared for my fence project like it was their OWN project, on their OWN home. Which is rare for this industry. Overall, I had a terrific experience and highly recommend Cascade Fence and Deck. Without hesitation, I would use Cascade Fence and Deck again for any future fencing and deck needs.

There is a saying “God is in the details”, this would apply to working with Cascade Fence and Deck. My estimator, Shellagh, listened to my requirements for privacy and fence strength. After measuring through the muddy back field, she changed her mud boots and came into my kitchen with a professional brochure, and a laptop full of previous work to compare options and was able to explain the quality of materials used and write a bid on the spot. Pure professionalism, and transparency with no hidden unknowns. There was a cancellation (lucky for me) and they were able to fit me in earlier than expected, on the wettest day of the week no less. Then set your alarms because these guys start early and show up on time. On that morning, Cory was such a knowledgable fence specialist, he advised me on the slope grade and adjusted how the fence would be built to fit my requirements, which included making sure the boards would be 2-4” off the dirt. The work crew (Nate, Scott, Ken) was professional and polite, working straight through the job in one day. They answered any questions I had during the process. They even pointed out that that a connecting section of fence would look odd without the same trim and were able to make the residing section of fence match to the new fence seamlessly. A few days following we had 40 MPH winds whip through the area, but I didn’t have a worry with the strong craftsmanship of the steel posts in 2’ of cement - that ‘ole wind can huff and puff all he wants. The cedar is top grade and beautiful, in fact the new fence looks so good, it has made the whole yard look better. I would recommend Cascade D&F with full confidence and look forward to working with them again.

I am very happy with the quality and workmanship of Cascade Fence & Deck The demolition of the old fence and deck was done quickly and smoothly with all debris removed The workers had to do their jobs in very trying conditions with lots of wind and rain It is a pleasure to look out our back door and view the quality of the work that was done and also enjoy the amazing look of our back yard We know that the new fence and deck will last for many years because of the quality of the work done and the quality of the materials used. Cascade is an amazing business to work with and we will use them again if the need arises

Polite and courteous crew performed excellent work. Labored through some truly awful (cold and wet) weather with never a complaint. The job turned out beautifully and was completed on schedule. I have enjoyed my fences for 2 year now with not a single problem.

Were not willing to work on my project

There are plenty of companies that can build decks. But none are as honest, respectful, or talented as Cascade Fence and Deck. Not only were they able to (patiently) listen to our questions and provide information on design options, but they made us feel like we weren’t just another job for them. It wasn’t about getting the deck built as quickly as possible or “close enough” to our needs, but making sure we were happy. We had very specific needs for our deck and Cascade was able to meet them all…and then some! From the very beginning, the field sales representative, Leif Wirtanen, was extremely helpful. He provided honest answers to every question we had and gave something that other companies had yet to provide: Confidence. We felt like Cascade actually understood our deck design and the reasons behind them. He also took note of our wish for in-deck lighting and offered us options without making us feel like he was “up-selling”. The build began in late Dec 2016 with, ironically, the tear down of our old deck. The deck installers, Dustin and Louis, were always prompt and made short work of removing the old deck. If you’ll remember, the weather in Portland around that time was quite challenging, but Cascade made sure to keep us informed of any days there were not able to work due to the weather. On those days they were able to work, Dustin and Louis proved why they are considered professionals. The precision with which they built the deck was amazing. They were focused, skilled, and always ended the work day by asking us if we had any questions. My wife also noted that they treated her as an equal to me, something that can’t always be said of many companies. The end results are nothing short of incredible. The design is exactly as we asked for, the final product is above and beyond our imagination, and the build quality is spectacular. We would happily recommend Cascade Fence and Deck for any project you might have!

From the beginning when I called for an estimate to the installation everything went very well. I used this company a couple of years ago and was very pleased with their work. I called them in January, 2017 right after this winter's storms took out two very large trees in my yard. The trees fell on my vinyl fence and destroyed several sections. Cascade Fence responded immediately to my request and from then on followed up on every step. Yesterday the work was completed and I am very satisfied. I called them directly after the storm and did not get a second opinion as there was no need since I had been very pleased with their previous work. This is a well run and responsive company.

It was an outstanding experience. We have more fencing to be replaced and will call them again to do the work.

In the end, I chose to go with the contractor that built my deck at my last house, but I would certainly consider Cascade in the future. They are very professional and their quality looks great. While price was not my only driving factor, it was A factor in my decision making process. Cascade was actually the most expensive of the quotes I received. That being said, the quality and professionalism from the company should still keep them on your list of potential contractors.

By the time we got our gate we had a joke that to "cascade" something was to commit and then not show up. Eventually, we got an apology for how horribly our job went, and I should have cancelled our agreement after the third or fourth time that they screwed up. In the end, I learned that I need to end contracts with unprofessional companies as soon as it becomes apparent that they aren't going to do a good job. I began by making an appointment to meet an installer at their showroom. When I showed up for the appointment, no one was there. I wandered around for a while before finding someone who said, with irritation, that they were all in a meeting now. So I waited. When the meeting was out, the person my "appointment" was with wasn't even in that day. When I asked if someone else could meet with me, there was a big sigh and a rolling of eyes, and ok, but it was clear they thought they were doing me a favor. The person who met with me was a "supervisor" but didn't know how to use the software to generate a quote. I sat down with them and we learned how to use the program together. I felt bad for them and how clearly over their heads they were. Again: I should have just walked out. I know this now. After agreeing to the quote, I arranged the first on-site appointment for the posts to be installed. I have a family member at home who is senile and mostly deaf - she gets very scared if anyone is at the house when I'm not there so I made a point of scheduling at a time that I knew I could take time off work and be home. I was home. They did not show. I called. I wrote. No response. I kept calling. I was told that the original appointment had been made at a time when they have their weekly meeting. Ok. Scheduled again. Made it clear that I was taking time off work to be there during the work window and how important it was that I was there. I got home an hour before they are scheduled to be there to find two people breaking up the concrete in my driveway and digging holes. They just started - with no confirmation from me on where to dig. My senile family member is so scared she's hiding in the closet. I was furious. I told them to leave. They said they couldn't leave until they finished. More angry calls from me. No apologies, just a "sometimes they just get there early" response. Again: I should have cancelled the whole job. But now my existing gate was gone and I needed a gate. And I'd paid half of the cost upfront. The whole job went on like this. It was absolutely awful. Whatever time they agreed to be there that was the ONE time we could be sure they would not be there. They might show up at another time (earlier or later), or they might not show at all. The quality of the gate is fine. It opens and closes. Eventually I got an apology from the "supervisor" but it was way too late and the work was over by then. I would never, ever, ever (!) hire them again.

Prompt, professional, and resoonsive to all our concerns. Stayed within the budget. Not the cheapest option, but worth the extra money.

They are the most responsive team I have ever had the pleasure of hiring.

The job went very smoothly. From the company rep who came out to give the estimate for the job, to the installers, everything was conducted in a highly professional manner. Very respectful, and considerate.
