Aleksey replaced the carpeting in my family room with hardwood flooring and refinished the existing hardwood I had in the kitchen and dining area. This area had never been refinished before and Aleksey made it look new again. We are very happy with the results and I highly recommend this company.

Every review that praised Alesky is spot on. He does superior work and stays on schedule even if it requires him to bring in help. My floors look better than they did when they were first put in 13 years ago. I am sure they will last 20 years or more. Every flaw is gone and the floor looks amazing. Thank you for a job well done. I gave him a B on price ONLY because if you want an inferior job, somebody will charge you less. Quality is not inexpensive. We paid just under $5000 including taxes and it was worth it. Excellent! Far exceeded my expectations, had no idea such beautiful hardwoods were living underneath the dirt and grime. Alexi (sp?) and crew did a fantastic job, very communicative, prompt and did excellent work.

We already had hardwood flooring in a little less than half of the house and wanted to add hardwood flooring to the rest of the house. We got bids from about 5 providers. Aleksey's was the most knowledgeable and realistic in his assessment as well as the most reasonable bid. After discussing what we wanted to do and evaluating the existing flooring and the area we wanted to add he gave us very helpful information and knew exactly what we wanted. He started and finished exactly when he said he would. He works hard but is a very nice guy and very pleasant to be around. He not only had to install the new floor but sanded down the old floor and refinished it to match the new. His attention to detail and craftsmanship is of the highest quality. He gave us recommendations when we asked for his advice as well as pros and cons and was generally extremely helpful. The result was a masterpiece. We absolutely love our new floor (and so do guests) and are especially pleased with how seamlessly it blends with the old floor. We couldn't be happier with the quality of materials, workmanship and price. He is not just a craftsman, he is an artist! We would not hesitate to use his services again and already have recommended him to friends and relatives.

Perfect in every way. Look brand new and left very clean! Repaired big opening in floor where 3' x 2' grate to oil tank was. So perfect!

Based on Angie's List rating of AVA Construction, LLC I requested an estimate from Aleksey. He explained everything needed to be done and was extremely professional. His estimated cost was in line with others but, based on his knowledge and professionalism we decided to have him do our job. The floors came out beautiful and, we couldn't be more happy with his work. He made sure every detail was completed even doing some extra that were not part of the original bid. He completed the demo of the kitchen and family room floors and disposed of all the old material. At the end of each work day he cleaned up the work area completely and insured everything was covered with plastic to prevent dust from getting into things. He estimated it would take two weeks to complete our project and he competed it as promised. He also worked with us to create the perfect stain color for our floors making several samples until we got the right one. He is a true craftsman and a great guy to work with. We could not be more satisfied with Aleksey's work and, would highly recommend him to anyone needing flooring work.

Aleksi did a fantastic job on our floors. He was on-time and worked hard until the job was done! He laid out a few large stain samples for us, which was really helpful. He replaced a few boards and I can’t even tell which ones are new. We couldn’t be happier with the results and I would highly recommend him.

Aleksey was absolutely great to work with. He was fast and was able to start work before any other company could. He refinished and matched my red and white oak floors in my 1000sqft ‘59 ranch. He also removed concreate tile around the old fireplace and added matching wood. Beautiful work and was able to work independently and reliably. Would definitely hire again!

A neighbor recommended Aleksey Alyabyev of AVA Construction, and he did a wonderful job. Really satisfied now with the floor, and we certainly were not before. They worked on our floor for 5 days--3 days sanding and filling gaps and 2 days of refinishing with oil-based poly. While odorous during the cold days of December, we knew that could be an issue going into the job. Still, he met all of the deadlines he set and we were only two days in a hotel when the finishing application was done. Big job, some inconvenience, but very pleased by the results.

Aleksy is truly the most professional, honest, skilled worker I've ever had the pleasure of working with. His attention to detail with installing flooring is wonderful, he did not make one mistake. His pricing is very reasonable. He was always punctual and a hard worker. Our floors look beautiful and we will hire him again when we're ready to do the upstairs bedrooms. I only wish he did other remodeling as we've dealt with mediocre contractors for our kitchen and doors. Trust me, he IS the very best person you can hire!

Aleksey is very professional and a true craftsman. He was communicative on the status of my project throughout and consistent in meeting his timeline commitments. The end result of his work in my historic Irvington neighborhood home is quite remarkable.

I had two apartment buildings with 9 total apartments. One was built in 1906 and one was a new build. The job was too big for my usual floor guy so I found Alexi on Angie's List. He showed up when scheduled and gave me a very competitive bid. The new building required brand new installed hardwoods while the remodel required him to patch some floors and refinish others. He was always prompt, accommodating and professional. He worked with us on timing and working around the other contractors. He was always easy to work with and the floors turned out beautiful. I will now be using Alexi in the future and would recommend him to anyone needing floor work done.

The work went very well. Aleksey is a fine craftsman! He did a great job. Look at the pictures. We are very pleased and will use him in any future work that we need done on hardwood floors. We highly recommend Aleksey for any work that you need to have done related to hardwood floors.

Aleksey was prompt in providing an estimate and far more thorough than others we contacted, providing a near-perfect ballpark estimate on the first visit. He was up-front in explaining that they do not do painting, so we would have to arrange for painting the replaced/repaired trim. Aleksey provided a number of options for wholesalers where we could go and look for replacement hardwood. Aleksey and his crew were professional, courteous and prompt. They did an excellent job of installation and clean-up. Because this project was near the holidays and shippers were busy, the transition materials did not arrive on-time as expected. To finish the project within a reasonable time, Aleksey purchased local transition materials and did the staining and finishing to match on-site. This occurred during snowy weather. Because our garage was full, he could not work inside and actually built a tent outside on our porch to do all that finish work in very cold weather. As a tip for others who may be undergoing similar projects, I wish that we had requested that they purchase all new baseboard materials. The pdf trim just doesn't do well after being taken off and reinstalled. The crew did a reasonable job; it was just our fault for not requesting new materials.

First off I would like to say this is my first review on Angie's list as I signed up just to look for a flooring pro. My name is Guy with A.P.E Painting Inc. I have been an Angie's list award winner for last 5 or so years consecutively. I'm mentioning this as I know what it takes to be an award winner on A.L. I've always had great connections being in the finish trade of construction but didn't have Hardwood floor installer, finisher and finish trim contractor and this was for my personal dwelling. I'm thankful to find Aleksey and his crew. I'm very meticulous at my trade and expected to hire someone that cared and had great work ethics. Aleksey and his crew showed up on time everyday as I not only appreciated but expected. They worked full days, respectful, communitive, and great work ethics all around. Very competitive as I received other bids but knew right away that if his bid was on target he would get the job. Aleksey is a business owner that has a great crew, but works next to his guys and this was exactly what I wanted someone that could talk the language of a craftsman but also knows how to apply his skills. Sand/stain/seal/3coats of bona finish Shop around but definitely get a bid/estimate from AVA CONST. I have to say I'm generally not impressed easily but, I appreciate strong work ethics. PROS on time everyday Pro craftsman Installs trim No nonsense Proposal not an estimate! Cons 50? down (I normally wouldn't but was comfortable enough). All in all this was a great transaction from one finish craftsman to another.

These guys are wonderful to work with, trustworthy, reliable and are truly masters of their craft!!! I would highly recommend them and plan to use their services for any future hardwood floor needs. Aleksey came the same day I called him. I had two other estimates and one company said the floor could not be repaired because the wood could not be replaced. They told me to just leave the wet buckled floor and wait several months for it to dry out. The other company said they could repair the floor but their estimate was $2000 more. I called AVA Construction because I wanted a third opinion to break the tie. Aleksey came out measured, used a moisture meter (one of the other companies did not do either) and called the wood supplier to make sure the wood was available. I told him I wanted to wait until I knew how much I was going to receive from my insurance company. He did not call me to ask what was going on and waited until I called him, which I appreciated. Then he came over and started working the very next day. He and Mark worked very hard to get my floors looking brand new. The wood was replaced, matched and the floors were sanded and refinished in a 5-day, 16-step process that was done very meticulously. I was amazed at how beautiful my floor looked!! My cost was adjusted lower when they used less wood then they thought they needed. They get an A++ in my book for every category!

Aleksey is great to work with on any flooring projects in your home. We would give him our highest recommendation. This is the second job he has done in our home and we've now used him for installing / refinishing hardwood floors as well as a small job installing laminate flooring. His work on both jobs was excellent. It's great when you meet with a business owner and he walks you through the job, exact steps involved, the timeline to get it to completion and then he actually executes on his timeline! I wish all contractors were this easy to work with- thanks again Aleksey!

Highly recommended. Our hardwoods were in very bad shape and now they look new. We had a number of stain options to choose from, and were able to choose one that coordinated well with our new bamboo flooring. They were punctual, hardworking, and very responsive. Very happy with the finished product.
