I am a 68-year-old homeowner, former pastor and now chaplain with Snohomish County Fire department, who is very meticulous in just about everything I do. When deciding to replace the present asphalt with concreate, I went to home advisor and picked the top 4 companies listed to give me estimates. Of the four companies, Joe Rothwell of Pioneer Concrete and Masonry gave me the best competitive bid. They started construction just prior to the governor shutting down construction due to COVID-19, which meant a lengthy period of not driving out of the garage, which was fine since we were not going out anyway. When construction began again, they were johnny on the spot, and the driveway turned out better then we even imagined! The crew working was so polite and respectful, and when they finished, everything was returned to where it belonged, and you could not even find a gum wrapper left behind! To make things even sweeter for us, I have a neighbor who had an asphalt driveway 1/3rd the size of my driveway replaced with asphalt and paid more than I did. I highly recommend Pioneer Concrete and Masonry, and if you do not get a bid from Joe, you are making a mistake!

We hired Pioneer about a year ago to remove an old driveway and concrete patio. The team worked quickly removed the old broken concrete and created all new outdoor hardscapes adding an new expanded patio, new walkways, and a new RV/boat parking area. The price was very reasonable for the work they did and it was all done on schedule. The workmanship is great and everything still looks nice even a year later.

Joe and his crew did a very good job and finished up on time. Good communication and easy to work with.

I contacted Pioneer Masonry & Concrete to get an estimate through HomeAdvisor. Joe came out to my home to go over an estimate and go over the scope of my project. We discussed concerns and possible issues with the project. Joe asked when I was looking to get the job started and I said I was getting estimates still but soon depending on the weather. No estimate was given and no authorization was given to start the work when Joe left. The next morning I was woken up do to the noise from Pioneer Masonry & Concrete's crew who were already at my home and had already started pouring concrete. No estimate and no authorization was given to start the job, but concrete had already been poured. I come outside and no one from Pioneer Masonry & Concrete introduces themselves as the point of contact. I tried to tell them to stop working and was ignored. I tried to tell them about concerns and issues I had discussed with Joe the previous day and was ignored. All of the set up work I had done was removed or destroyed. Everything Joe had said his crew would do before they started to pour concrete was not done. I was told by the crew that they were doing the job Joe sent them out to do and to call Joe if I had any problems. I tried to call Joe but was never answered. Two and half hours after the pour had started and they were finishing the job I finally received and email from Joe with an attached quote. I tried calling Joe again but received no answer. The crew from Pioneer Masonry & Concrete supposedly "finished' the job and left leaving me their mess to clean up and fix some of the damage they caused. I tried contacting Joe about fixing some of the problems and gave him a detailed list about the problems. Joe and his crew came back out to my home. From the beginning Joe had no interest in listening to my concerns and offered cheap solutions that did not address the problems. It was more than obvious that he had no interest in fixing the problems and only wanted to get out of there without spending a dime. So much for Pioneer's warranty. So, now I have contacted other concrete companies to come out and give me estimates in order to fix the problems with the job Pioneer Masonry & Concrete created and left me to deal with. I will have to go the legal route to recoup my losses due to Pioneer Masonry & Concrete. Stay away from Pioneer Masonry & Concrete!

Pioneer Masony and Concrete did an amazing job on my new driveway. Work started and finished on time. Workers very friendly and courteous. If I have another job I would most definitely use them again.

Pioneer Masonry and Concrete went above and beyond when doing my concrete driveway. The owner, Joe, is very experienced And trustworthy. He has a hardworking and knowledgeable crew who enjoy their work. They are conscientious of their surroundings when they work and have competitive pricing. I highly recommend them. I am so pleased with my new driveway!

I hired this company to put a true perimeter foundation around an attached carport - that was enclosed by some previous owner. He stated how his crew was going to remove sections of the foundation area to leave support while he was to form a standard concrete foundation (upside down "T") around the perimeter. His crew removed most of the entire footing - which caused the walls to collapse down, left the walls swinging in the breeze, did not pour a level footing/foundation and after I paid $5,000 for the project, I had another company come in and level out my roofline - which was 6-1/2" out of level. He didn't do what he said he was going to do, did not reply to my attempts to get him to call me back, and then, in the end, said that I paid him for the work, so I must have been satisfied. I was not, of course.

They did a great job on our new driveway and sidewalks. I would recommend this company to anyone.

The work done was good but the communication and setting expectations was not. They were quick to get us an estimate and schedule the work. We were told they would do the work Thur or Fri but showed up Tuesday to set up, then came back Friday to pour. The work being done was right on our property line and unfortunately they left a large mess on our neighbors property that caused some tension and that we had to fix ourselves. Had we known before we could have talked to our neighbor and taken steps to better protect his property. When we reached out to provide feedback about the mess no response was given.
