"there is a quick summary at the bottom if you want to skip the details. I have received service from this company twice. The first time I had a leak in a bathtub. They removed the drain with a Dremel since it was stuck, then they were about to leave to go to home depot to get plumber's putty, but I had some so they were able to get the part quickly replaced. Maybe this is a bit of a fluke, but that seems like a fairly basic thing to have when going to fix this kind of leak. Overall it was a positive interaction so I didn't think much of it. I recently bought a bidet on amazon. It arrived and I put it in. The problem was that I couldn't connect the toilet to the wall since the hose was a different size then the wall piece. The directions wanted me to remove the valve stem from the wall and replace it with their own. I called A Advanced because when it comes to plumbing, i would rather leave that to the professionals. I had called it a hose bibb because I just didn't know what it was called. someone called me back and asked me to explain in better detail what i needed done. I explained that the "hose bibb" needed to be replaced for me to connect my toilet and that I had the part to do it. from that conversation i received an estimate for $280.87. I was at work that day so couldn't be there, but my wife was there. The plumber that arrived worked for a while on the toilet, then went to home depot to find parts, then came back to the house and worked on it longer, then finally decided that it couldn't be done. We were charged $768.14 for nothing to get fixed. I called them to figure out what happened, I called near closing so they were not able to get a hold of anyone and it waited until the next week for me to talk to someone. I found out that the plumber never received the bag of parts, it was about 2 feet away in the sink. the same plumber came out and looked at it again, and went to home depot again. I was at work and managed to contact him while he was at home depot. I was told that the problem was with the thread depth and that there was no way to install this Chinese toilet without special ordering a part, and if I wanted him to keep working on it he was going to have to charge me more money. I declined. (Its not a Chinese toilet, the company that makes them is out of California.) At this point I was beyond frustrated. I left work early, drove home, went to home depot with the parts I needed to connect, and found a perfect fit within about 10 minutes of looking. I bought a Hex Bushing 3/4 in MIP x 1/2 in FIP for $7.75. I attached it to the included hose and then attached that to the valve stem. and everything worked. Home depot made it easy to find since both connectors were the same type. I just needed to find the appropriate brass adapter. the threads on the toilet hose are identical to the threads on a US water heater. I called A Advanced back and presented my evidence. I was asked what it would take to make this right. I asked for some of my money back. I can understand getting charged for the plumber going out to my house without a full understanding of what is going on. but at no point did he ever tell my wife that he was going way over the estimate. this is the exact response i got back. "I spoke with my COO and my foreman due to the amount of time we spent on the project we are unable to provide any sort of refund. I understand that is not something you want to hear but that is our decision." _____________________________________________ to summarize: - every time this company has come out to my house they have needed to go to Home Depot during the visit. - I was charged nearly 3 times the estimate with no work done and no warning that the bill was piling up. - the plumber was never able to install the toilet despite multiple trips to home depot - I installed the toilet with a $7 adapter i found at home depot in about 10 minutes. (I am not a plumber) - The company chose to not refund me anything If a plumbing company needs to go to home depot every time they do a house call, that is a company that is not prepared at best, and a scam company at worst."

"Northwest Cascade/Flohawks Septic Field Complaint John and Mallow Robinson 1/19/21 History We purchased our property at 225 Bella Bella Drive, Fox Island, WA in December 2013. As a sale requirement, the previous owner was required to update the property’s septic system and used Northwest Cascade as their septic contractor. Among other improvements, the company installed a drip system that was signed off by Pierce County. FloHawks, an offshoot of Northwest, has done yearly county inspections ever since. During an extensive interior remodel of the property, which delayed our occupying the house, our contractor advised us that the septic field was extremely soggy. Between 5/1/14 and 8/25/14, I logged eleven calls to Northwest Cascade complaining about the problem. Dave Rink, FloHawks Customer Representative, and Tom Rogers, Northwest Cascade Residential Construction Manager, looked at the field, debated options, promised to return with the installer, but never did. I also made calls to their consultant, Ric Wilkerson of Wilkerson and Associates Inc, who promised to follow up on the problem. He wrote me saying he spoke with “one of the premier experts on wastewater drip dispersal in the state” who agreed to inspect the system when the immediate rainy weather improved. To my knowledge, that never happened. By now Adam Cushman, Northwest Residential Construction Manager, and Mike Kempf, Site Development Supervisor, were included in the communications. Kelvin Elbert, Customer Representative, had came out to examine a separate problem with tank flooding, but he, too, observed that the septic field was saturated and could be contributing to the flooding. Despite all these inspections and conversations, no action or follow-up occurred. On 8/28/14, I emailed Mr. Inman at Northwest Cascade, complaining that the problem kept “falling off the radar.” On 8/29/14, Tom Rogers called to say he and two others had come by, inspected the field, and decided it was within in normal limits but promised to return if the problem returned with the rains. A number of serious personal health crises prevented me from taking any action in the intervening years but the soggy drain field continued unabated year-round. Our gardener complained that he could barely mow the field even in summer without leaving deep tracks in the mushy loam. So, I resumed reaching out to the Northwest Cascade, the installing company, for help. After several phone calls, Ric Wilkerson and Adam Cushman came out on 9/17/20, agreed the field was quite soggy, and promised to take soil samples. Several calls were necessary to make this happen and to obtain the results. Mr. Cushman then informed me that the sandy loam of the soil was not draining and claimed that 4-6” of poor soil had been imported over the drain field by someone else other than his company and speculated that this was the problem. He subsequently sent me a bid of $5,010.00 for replacing this soil at my expense with the caveat that the plan offered no guarantee of success. I asked whether the company had ever tested their drip system after installation but received no reply. Unfortunately, Matt Kewpf, who installed the system, no longer worked for Northwest Cascade but Mr. Cushman denied that the problem could be one of original workmanship. On 5/22/20, Carl Evanson, a FloHawks employee, conducted the regular December inspection and informed me that the that the septic field was very soggy. Despite the fact it has been soggy since the start, no other yearly inspector had ever mentioned it to me. It appears that their inspectors had never inspected the drain field or considered it a problem which is curious because the saturation was always worse in the winter. I explained our long history of problems to Mr. Evanson, which he had never heard, and he promised to send out their trouble-shooter. I have yet to hear from anyone. Apparently Northwest Cascade and FloHawks do not communicate. I next obtained second opinions from two other septic companies. Both suggested that new soil would only hide the problem and advised me that drip system like ours are installed because of poor soil so this could not have been new information to them. The impression I got from these consultations was that the system was improperly installed. The likely solution would be redoing the septic field system at a possible cost of $10-15,000. I advised Adam Cushman of my findings. All further emails to Adam Cushman went unanswered and I finally learned that he had left the company. Others on the email thread (Ric Wilkerson, Clint Meyers, and new president Greg Potts) apparently chose not to respond to my concerns. With the heavy rains last night, my septic alarm went off six times. Understandably rain can contribute to rapidly filling tanks and water backup, but neither of my neighbors’ alarms went off nor any of the septic systems of my friends on the island. At the very start of this problem, investigators advised me that water backed up from slow-draining soggy septic fields could easily amplify the problem. That certainly appears to be the most likely cause here. Conclusions Our seriously saturated septic field has been a documented problem from the day we moved in in 2014. Despite an amazing number of calls, emails, conversations, inspections, and promises from Northwest Cascade, we have never received any believable findings or remediation. Lots of talk, no responsibility taken, blame the customer. As noted, Northwest Cascade’s conclusions have also been seriously questioned by two independent septic installers. Northwest’s president, Greg Potts, has reviewed this material and refuses to take any responsibility or consider a compromise solution. Based on the above experience, I would strongly recommend not using Northwest Cascade for residential septic installation, inspection or management."

Yes, most states require septic tank installers to have a license, and for good reason. Hiring an unlicensed septic tank professional could lead to poor quality work, added future expenses, and potential code violations. A licensed septic tank installer tackling your projects only protects you as a homeowner.
As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Certified” badge. Angi Certified businesses meet our standards for certification which include:
The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check
Required to have applicable state and local licenses
Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review
Paying to advertise their services
Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi
The cost to replace a septic tank is $7,350 for the average homeowner. This cost can range, however, from $470 to $22,500, depending on several factors. Your house size is a significant factor in the overall cost, but other things like material type impact the final price tag. For example, installing a new septic tank in a one-bedroom house typically costs $500 to $900, whereas installing a new septic tank in a five or six-bedroom home is generally $1,200 to $1,600.
The cost of septic tank repair is $1,775 for the average homeowner. However, depending on a few elements, you might pay as little as $170 or as much as $6,100. Location, repair type, and tank material all determine the final cost. For example, replacing the septic tank filter can be as little as $200 to $300. However, repairing septic lines costs more, averaging around $1,500.
A septic tank can typically last 15 to 20 years on average, though your system's lifespan will vary depending on the type of septic system and the materials used. To help increase your septic tank's lifespan, schedule routine maintenance and do not flush items like cat litter, cigarette butts, or paper towels.
Repairing or replacing a septic tank is a job best left to a professional. Your septic tank is an essential part of your home, and if installed or repaired incorrectly, it could lead to significant problems. Things like polluted water, property damage, and health risks to your family could all happen as a result of an improper septic tank repair or installation.
