The pressure washing was done a couple of weeks before the actual painting. After a couple of days delay due to weather the crew showed and completely masked and then painted my house in two full days. I am happy with the results and would recommend Emrush and his crew to any of my friends.

Emrush was able to schedule an estimate within a couple of days of my request. His suggestions for the work we wanted were very helpful, including that we not paint all of the closet doors which would have been very expensive and time consuming. Since I was flexible which dates for the painting to be accomplished, Northwest was able to have the painting scheduled a couple of weeks sooner than other painters I contacted. The crew showed up exactly on time. They moved and covered all of the furniture and masked the walls. I was expecting the work to take two days, but they were complete by 5pm. They unmasked and moved all of the furniture back to their original locations. The crew was professional and courteous. The paint looks great. I would definitely use Northwest Complete Contractor in the future.

Each crew of 2 to 3 men were extremely hard working with tiny details to assure that the stripping took back to bare wood, even in close corners. All of the staining and painting crew members worked quietly, professionally with only business-like language. No yelling or swearing (I would have!). The stripping took 5 full days to get off the old, improperly done, stain. They worked very diligently to assure that every inch was taken care of. The products used were Rodda Sharkskin Stain with 5 year warranty and Rodda dark green paint for trim and front door (change from white). 2 to 3 coats were used for the paint and 2 coats were done for the stain. The staining and paint job took 5 more days of hot, hard work. Worked safely with proper ladders and number of men on each portion of the job. Used proper safety gear with the old stain removal. Emrush and his crew did a beautiful job with a difficult project. Our cedar siding had been improperly stained for 17 years (homeowner). His bid was the best, but also he was the estimator that clearly understood the issues and had the information for us to understand the full nature of the job. One other estimator had to come back after questions had been raised by his job foreman. Thanks to the gentlemen that he employs and their very professional work ethic, this very difficult job was done to the highest standards. His choice of products from Rodda were excellent as well. Other well known brands were bid, but Rodda had the Shark Skin stain that has a warranty. Thanks to Emrush, we have a New Home!
Description of Work: Stripped old stain and drips; removed mildew and stains; brightened/evened wood; took the stripping back to bare wood for final staining - two coats; primed, sanded and painted front door; primed and painted trim and new color 2 to 3 coats as needed; cleaned up each day; final clean up included washed windows.

This is the third time we have used Northwest Complete Contracting. We got several bids. After discussion, the accepted offer was in the range of the middle to upper bids. We went with them because of the size of the job and our previous experience with them and were very pleased with the results. Emrush was great to deal with as were his employees. We paid extra for the deck cap replacements and deck boards as well as replacing quite a few shingles that were rotten on a time and materials basis. We had 4 or five guys here on our multistory house for a week after a full pressure washing of the house and decks. They were all very professional and courteous. The results exceeded our expectations. The deck caps replacements looked great and the house looks new again. I would recommend them highly.

We love those boys. There were 4 boys that were there. We fell in love with those boys and they did a wonderful job. We even tipped them when the left and that's how pleased we were. I also hugged them. They were tremendous and terrific. They are perfection. They were on top of everything. We walk in that house once in a while because it is not sold yet and we just look at the wall and we said, "This is a brand new house, we should move back in again." They were fantastic and I can't praise them high enough. They were very courteous and when I looked out the window, they were watering my flowers because I can't get to the hose.

Updating review to an F for overall and quality. The paint in the bathroom is now literally peeling off the walls and ceilings in large pieces. It has nothing to do with anything touching the paint as it's also happening on the ceiling. The whole bathroom is going to have to have the walls stripped down and redone. I'm convinced the contractor outright lied when he told me they prepped the walls prior to painting them. I also just read their comments. Wow. They never offered any discounts and I never asked for any. I absolutely had the funds to pay them but wanted to use my credit card because I earn mileage points. What reputable contractor operates a business on cash only? Not many. This is a red flag for tax evasion. His response to my pointing out the poor work they did was to say I ruined his work. Why in the world would I hire and pay someone to do work and then ruin it? I've provided my input on what this company offers. Proceed at your own risk. Bathroom paint peeling the first day. Without even touching it large pieces were curling off the walls. Showed it to the contractor the next day and was told it needed to cure and they weren't done painting. After they finished the paint continued to peel off in large pieces all over the bathroom. We had them come back out to address the problems. They said they used TSP which is highly unlikely. They didn't use any primer. So they painted semi gloss paint over semi gloss paint without prepping the walls. The only prep work they did was to spackle nail holes. The last trip out he got angry and said it was our fault about the paint because there is condensation in the bathroom. That's an issue in every bathroom! The end result is that we agreed to wait 30 days for it to cure. It's highly unlikely this paint job is going to last a year before everything has to be re-done. They got paint on the new vanity and didn't clean it up. The next day the contractor said it's not a problem because it will come off (even thought they didn't remove it). The vanity has an intricate wood design and took us about an hour to get the paint out of all the crevices the first night. The work to repair the damaged drywall in the ceiling had to be done 3 times. First they put on some spackle. We said it needed to be repaired not have a layer of spackle thrown on it. Then they put rock h****** it. You could still push on the ceiling and almost put your hand through it. We explained again that we wanted it repaired not patched over. They worked on it again and it looked better. New water hose on vanity was bent in half preventing hot water from flowing. Contractor said it wasn't a problem. He was told that it is a problem and needed to be fixed which they did. The vessel sink was supposed to have had silicone on the bottom to adhere it to the granite top. This didn't happen so the sink was moving around on the granite top. He got angry when the issue was shown to him and said we ruined his work. We had absolutely no reason to do that. Trust me when I say we wanted them to be done and gone. They said they would use clear caulking in the window where some of the sheetrock was scraped off. They didn't. They just painted over the gaps. They left paint in the bathtub that dripped down from the ceiling/walls. We had to scrub that out. Light was installed upside down which is understandable because it could be up or down. I told them it should be upright. It took 3 trips out to put it on correctly. They got paint down the top of the new heat register. We asked them to clean it up and they didn't. They got paint all along the floor where they painted the baseboard trim. We showed that to them and asked them to clean it up. They didn't. Leg to vanity not screwed in because floor isn't level. The leg was just spinning around. They should have put a shim that fit under the leg. Contractor said it was fine to spin around loosely because the legs were built to screw in. The bathroom project was a failure. The work to put in the vanity, sink, faucet, medicine cabinet, light and register was $450. Painting was in addition to that cost. It was straightforward, easy work and shouldn't have resulted in the problems that occurred. The bedroom has old, single pane windows. There was a lot of condensation while they were working. Instead of making sure the window sills were dry they painted over water. It left a thick, wet mess of paint in the window sills that wasn't going to dry. The second day the contractor blamed it on the condensation, said that's the way it was going to be, but finally agreed to fix it. The end result was acceptable and the paint dried nicely. In the end the paint in the living room, hallway and bedroom turned out nice. Overall: The crew was friendly and worked long hours to get the work done which we greatly appreciated. There were so many quality control problems that they should have addressed on their own. When a customer has to tell them these issues need to be resolved and they don't fix it then it becomes unacceptable. This was not a good experience at all. I'm very suspicious of the high number of "A" ratings on Angie's List for this company.
Description of Work: They were hired to paint 3 rooms and a hallway. Also to install a new bathroom vanity, sink, faucet, medicine cabinet, light, heat register and fix a damaged area of drywall in the ceiling that had water damage from a leak.

Northwest Complete Contracting was dedicated to customer satisfaction throughout this project. Flexible hours and discounts were provided to help this customer, and even though they signed a contract, they did not have the funds to pay for the project. Our completed work was damaged by the customer, which needed our repair before customer's approval at the final walk through. Hopefully no other contractor will have to go through a similar experience with this customer. If there was an agency to report bad customers this one would be reported.

These guys are the real deal, period. My home is not a straight forward paint job, it has many angles and elevation changes--lots and lots of big ladder work. They finished in a timely fashion with can-do attitude and excellent follow-through. We've had a few problems w/ contractors recently so this experience was a welcome relief from the usual. Here%

Emrush came out to give me an estimate quickly and emailed me a quote within a couple of days. We talked about some options and he broke out the costs as requested, and we discussed the paint since he could supply it. Once I accepted the bid I sent a check for 1/2 to get on their calendar. We schedule the work in a couple of weeks. Their work was great... excellent prep work including fixing several cracks, including one on a high ceiling, removing wallpaper and re-texturing the wall, and two coats of paint in several rooms. They did most of the moving of the furniture and extras in the rooms, and cleaned up and moved everything back. After the wallpaper was removed they painted part of the room to help determine if I needed the wall re-textured, then quickly got back to me on the added cost and fit the work into the original schedule. Emrush walked through all of the work with me when they were done. The crew was professional and very punctual. I would definitely hire them again.

Imrush had previously painted a portion of our interior home. We requested he come back and complete the interior painting and dry wall repair of our 4400 sq. ft. home. He was polite, professional, prompt and came in under his quote, after the discount for labor from Angie's list. His crew was also responsive and did a fine job painting much of our interior and repairing holes and cracks in the drywall. We would certainly use them again.

This was a horrible experience. The man who came out to do the estimate was grumpy and hostile. I took him outside to explain the work and all he kept saying was that he would never paint this house because it was in such bad shape. I reminded him that I was also interested in replacing the siding since I knew painting may not be an option. He just continued to tell me how he wouldn't to this or that even and kept saying "I'm not lying to you" over and over again. When I asked him about siding he said he would "try" to get some measurements. I finally said "I can see you are clearly upset so if you don't want the work just tell me and we can stop right now". He finally took the measurements and told me someone's going to have to pay for the removal of all the siding and the lead abatement (which I had to bring up). He just got more upset. He finally calmed down just before I was going to ask him to leave and asked me when I wanted the estimate. This was the Friday after July 4th and I told him by the middle of the following week. He got upset again and said he didn't know if he could do that because of the holiday but he would try. I was so relieved when he left. I never did get an estimate from them but I had no intention of using them if I had gotten one. Horrible experience and I wouldn't recommend this company for anything!!

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!! After a day of this company doing prep work (sanding, etc.) on the exterior of my house's wood siding, my next door neighbor and tenant each reported finding their cars and yards coated with a layer of paint dust. The painters then got into a confrontation with my neighbor for taking photos as they worked. Now the EPA is investigating and has told me that this company did not follow regulations for containment of old paint, my neighbor has a lawsuit against this company, and I have had to replace all of my tenant's garden plants at my own cost due to the apparent widespread paint dust that likely contains lead (this home is 1930's vintage). When I spoke to the owner of this company, he was blaming of everyone except for his company and said to me various unsatisfactory things at different times such as: I should have told him if the existing paint has any lead in it, he does not know that there are HEPA-filter vacuums that attach to sanders, and it would be too expensive for any company to follow all dust containment regulations. I had this company return to do more cleanup, however they still left visible paint chips scattered on the ground and got into another confrontation with my neighbor. The EPA has since told me that this company is denying having done the prep work! We chose this company, in part, because they claimed to follow all regulations and due to the number of positive reviews on Angie's List. Based upon our actual experience, we now doubt the integrity of Angie's List's rating system.

The young man who came out to do the walk through for the quote was very professional. He did not go over as much in detail about what they would do as other businesses that quoted the same job. He said he would get me the quote in two days. Four days later I sent them a message through Angie's List and two days after that got a response that their email servers were down. They provided a quote through Angie's List but by then we had to choose another painter since we couldn't move in before the house was painted. The quote was competitive.

Don't let the price we paid shock you - we had several quotes and NW Complete Contracting was in the range of all the quotes. We have a tall (gable ends close to 40' plus a taller tower) victorian style house with a large amount of detail and 6 colors so it was a big project. From start to finish I was very impressed with the professionalism of Emrish and his entire crew. We have had the house professionally painted before and the prep work done this time far exceeded what had been done previously. For example, much of the facia was sanded down to bare wood. On each step Emrish would meticulously check the work being done and if he was not happy he would make his crew do it over. This is not to say the crew did shoddy work, quite the opposite, but Emrish was very particular about the quality of the job. Overall a good experience and I'm very pleased with the results. When the painting was complete we had NWCC install some rather large gable decorations we had previously purchased. The installation was done as expected on a per hour basis.

The trim paint job was terrible. They did come back and fix quite a bit but the fact that this happened with a highly rated contractor is disappointing. The real issue is that we wanted to use the paint that was originally used on the shingles. however, unbeknownst to us, the shingles had, per the contractor, 'sun damage'. before they started the job, they should have: 1) informed us that the shingles had sun damage 2) told us that the paint we originally requested was inappropriate because of the sun damage 3) recommended another type of paint that would work better They did none of these things. When I hire an expert, I depend on expert guidance. As experts, they should have realized that the shingles were sun damaged before using an inappropriate type of paint, and told me about it. They did not provide any such guidance. As a result, the shingles look like they still need painting (I've provided pictures of the shingles - after the work was done - to the contractor and to Angie's List). When I told them about this issue, it took them about a week to respond. They now refuse to do anything more to rectify the problem.
Description of Work: We hired them to do three things: 1. paint our deck in the back, 2. paint trim in the front, and 3. paint our shingles.

Response from Northwest Complete Contracting
Dear Angie’s List Customer, we at NWCC take great pride on the customer service relationships we build with our clients. We cater to our customers every need from the very beginning (bidding process) to the very end of the project always willing to go the extra mile to achieve complete satisfaction. Flexible work hours, competitive pricing, product education and constant communication (just to name a few) are key elements of the NWCC experience. Home projects can be very stressful on their own. We can only imagine what you must be going through juggling the project, visiting family, and the move. It is truly remarkable to say the least. When the client met with our estimator he said he has all the colors chosen from his designer. When he send us the color chart, which is shown below. Under shingles color is “ semi- transparent stain” but the color number following to it is “8766 N” is a paint color number, which we had to match from paint color to semi-transparent stain. We talk to all the painting stores and nobody was able to match it. The only option was to match it ourselves manually. It took our estimator about two days to match the semi-transparent stain. We did not charge him anything additionally, which was not in the contract. We went out of our way just to please the customer, since he really wanted the semi-transparent stain. We told him beforehand semi-transparent does not cover any imperfection or sun damages. But he said he want to use what the designer/builder suggested. He did not wanted to paint the shingles on the gable. At the end of the project, we walked thru with the client and they were very happy and paid us. After couples of weeks, he contacted us that he does not like the stain on the house and that he would like us to go back and put one more coat on the stain. Our crew went back and put one more coat with no extra charge, but it did not make a difference since the semi-transparent stain does not hide any imperfection. The color choice is the customer’s responsibility, we are not countable for the others/ designers decisions. We did a perfect job and he got more for his money worth. We did everything we could to satisfy the client. When clients change their mind about color or product when the project is completed, then it is going to be a work order change. This is the situation for this project. We apologize for any inconvenience and regardless of what he may decide we wish him only the best.
