They quoted $200000 for it. They were overpriced and along with it is a long process of people in your house, a lot of use of terminology and talk about the fly worth about the company and very high prices. They come and basically try to sell you what they do, they don't try to educate you at all but use terminology that you don't understand. I did have a follow up call, since people who did the estimation actually quit. They called me back and told me that they would like to do it again since they don't work there anymore and that they realize that it is way over priced.

We had someone stop by our house as a cold call and said that they were in the neighborhood doing someone else's roof (not really sure if this is true, only because we had another roofing company say the same a couple of months prior....just sounds like their spiel) and would we like a free estimate. My husband and I had been talking about getting a new roof, but just hadn't gotten around to getting any estimates. So yes, we would love a free estimate. They had someone come out the next day (both my husband and I needed to be there...WA law or something) and they went through around a 45 min- 1 hour spiel. He really only touted one product (although we didn't ask about anything other than that and we liked the product). He was able to price us out just our house, house with garage, and any financing options.Downside: the quote he gave was the "purchase today" quote. He touted something along the lines of because of all the price gauging that was done over the last couple of years, WA/OR started auditing companies big time and so the price they gave today would basically be their best price as they cannot give a lower price a week from now or a month from now. I am guessing after a month they can probably give you a similar or competitive rate only because he only mentioned the today quote and the 30 day quote. So he left and then we talked it over with family, and ended up calling him back and signing papers. The price quoted was pretty much what we thought we would spend on a new roof, the workmanship and product seemed good, and the fact that everyone works for them, no outsourcing, helped seal the deal. That and there is a 30 year warranty on the roof that transfers over to the next homeowner.Note: we did ask about just putting on another layer of shingles (we currently only have one) and he initially said oh, that will be very cheap. At the end when we asked for an actual price, he quoted $6.000....obviously that is not very cheap ( I am thinking it would be more like $3,000), but as anyone knows, of course he wants you to buy the whole new roof so they will just give an off the wall estimate for the lesser money/work.We were told that they were 2-3 weeks out and would call within 3 days of starting the job. I received a call from Samantha (Production Assistant) on July 2 asking if the July 3-5 would work. . yes, that would be fine. July 3-5 passed by...no crew. July 6, the people who make the roofing shingles dropped off their product and said they were guessing the crew would be there on Saturday. No crew on Saturday....called to see what was going on. "Someone on the job got hurt" will be starting on Monday. Mind you we had to call....received no call from them letting us know what was going on.Still no crew on Monday, Tuesday. Called Samantha back on Tuesday. Apologized for not calling me and letting me know the status. One of the crews did not show up and several of the other projects too longer. Now we are about 2 weeks out before we can get to your job. Hmmm....what do you mean a crew didn't show up? Don't they work for you....no outsourcing right? This sounds suspicious to me. Thursday (July 12) roofers show up (not 2 weeks later). Called Samantha to double check. She didn't know that they were there. Confirmed that we were ok with the time and sorry for all the miscommunication. The 1st day they were gone by the time I got home, but they were able to tear off the old roof, replace any boards, and start the pre-shingles steps and cleaned up. The 2nd day, they arrived around 8 and worked until about 6pm to finish. The roof looks great and so does the yard. Doesn't even look like anybody was there. (ie...they cleaned up everything) They will have to come back to finish up some stuff around the fireplace....they were not sent enough materials, but the crew of 4 did an excellent job...and in only 2 days! All in all, the miscommunication was a little disconcerning, but it was ok and once they started the work they were not only professional and hard-working but very timely and considerate of the yard/surroundings.

Came and gave a three hour pitch about the company, and was more about his personal life then about the roof. When it came to the price, it was 23,000.00 (WOW) a 1400 sq. ft house. Very high pressure ,very high price. Thanks, but no thanks

Tristate did a great job installing our beautiful new roof. We knew the roof should be the next home improvement project on our list, but at such a big ticket, we had been putting it off. Someone from Tristate came to the door in November and since I knew we wanted to do it in 2012, I agreed to let them do a quote. They required both my husband and I to be present and were very persistent about finding a date that would work for us both to be present. I was put off at first, feeling like they were going to be super high pressure, etc. They were able to accommodate our schedules and came out on a Saturday morning in mid-December. The sales guy spent a couple of hours inspecting, measuring, and then going through the products and process. We should have done some homework in advance I suppose, but we found him to be very informative and genuine, and he convinced us that this was a quality company based on compelling evidence he presented (I did run in the office while he was here and look them up on BBB etc, and found them to have good ratings and reviews - this was before I knew about Angie's list!). In the end, we agreed to do both new insulation (which we had also been thinking about doing) and the highest quality roof since it was "on sale" for the same price as the next quality level down. They scheduled the job for the following month (January) but then a few days later called and asked if we wanted it done the next week since they had a cancellation. They came out, did the job in 3 days, cleaned up their mess at the end of each night, didn't leave a bunch of ugly or dangerous debris around, and all of they guys on the job were polite and professional. The only thing that didn't go according to plan was that they were supposed to get approval from our HOA before work started, but with the cancellation spot opening up so quickly, they dropped the ball. Glad I asked if they had done that - they contacted an HOA board member for me and then I had to go scrambling around seeking approvals because my HOA will only deal directly with homeowners. But in the end, I have a classy looking new high-quality roof that was done quickly and professionally.
