The Plumbing & Drain Company - Go Rooter

I bought $125.00 coupon for the services. when I placed the order, I requested that the plumber call me as I need to know how long it takes to clean up the drain. However, they never called. The plumber came in time and did job well. I asked how long it will take and he said 30min. Actually, it took 30min as I was told. The coupon can use up to 1.5hours. I wish they would call me as I requested then I would have planned other jobs while the plumber was here.

The plumber was efficient, courteous and considerate and performed the promised service very well. He arrived on time and went to work. While this was a pretty simple and quick service, he had to go above and beyond by purchasing flapper kits because he did not have the type needed for my toilets in the supplies carried on his truck. Once he returned, the work was quickly completed and he was on his way and my toilets were good as new.

The service itself was a good one. He was a very nice guy and he temporarily fixed the issue. Apparently he didn't have the right part on his truck, but he said the job he did would last a while. The only issue is that it didn't last.

I got the big deal which was $125 for basically 2 hours of plumbing service.I thought this was a good deal and I was looking for a plumber to help with a bath renovation. All I needed was the a new shower valve installed and the shower valve needed to moved up 8 inches and the tub spout moved up 6 inches. They were prompt in coming out to do an estimate and the service to do the work was the next day. I gave specific instructions and the manual for the new shower valve. It took him a bit over two hours to do the job however he ran out of material... and had to run to home depot to get more pipe. Some how I still got charged for 3... So the big deal of $125 plus an additional $170 for the total job. It wasn't until later when I was putting up the wonderboard that I noticed the valve was set too far out. The manual specifically says that the face has to be flush with the finished wall. Granted the wall was down but between the stud and where the valve was set it was a good 2inches away. I don't know what kind of backerboard or drywall and tile combo he uses but I do not know of a combination that would span 2inches! I later had to have it fixed and redone due to the valve being set wrong.

They arrived as scheduled, cleaned out the main sewer line, ran the camera through the line and showed us the areas of concern. It was clear and thorough, and there was no sales pressure. The serviceman was highly professional.

The plumbing job initially was not as easy as expected. The company had to send another person out to fix the problem. This was due to the difficult nature of the problem, the leak being hidden by flooring and sheet rock. As this review is being written we await the final outcome as we continue to use the shower and look for leaks.

They took 5 hours to do a 3 hour job, then when asked to repair water main plumbing in the front yard I requested they not send the same worker that took so long. But they sent him anyway and then did not call me to let me know he was at the job and hence I had to spend another $200 with another service to locate the leaks.

The visit went fine. I was initially told there would be an additional charge for use of the video equipment, but my examination was straight forward enough so additional charges were not necessary.

I purchased a big deal for 1.5 hours of work for $150. I thought I had a bad sewage problem in my wall from a stink I'd had about a week. I contacted them to make sure I could use the coupon on this, purchased it, and scheduled the appointment for about a week later (at my convenience). They showed up within the appointed time fram but had also called at the beginning of the time slot to tell me they wouldn't get there for another 30 mins. The technician went up in my attic at first to check for rodent activity because he said it smelled more like decay than sewage. He didn't find much nor was the smell bad so he then went under my house into a crawl space of smelliness and after being down there about an hour said he'd checked every pipe and found no issues, but tightened them all anyways to provide me any service he could. He said he'd traced the smell to be strongest in one corner of the house but couldn't find the source - we decided it must be under the porch or in my bathroom wall and he advised me it was definitely not sewage as we'd see water damage. He advised me I could hire someone to tear the wall apart and get it out but that might set me back over a thousand dollars and was probably not worth it as the decay would only last another couple weeks anyway - I'd just have to vent the smell out of my rooms. I heeded his advice and very much appreciated it. I had about 15 mins left on my coupon so I asked him to take a look at a running toilet and though he didn't have the part on hand to fix it he told me I'd just need a basic part from home depot and talked me through how to drain the tank and replace the part myself. He also while he was in there changed the setting so the tank would provide a fuller flush as someone in the past has set the amount really low. A full 1.5 hours of money well spent, and I'd definitely call these guys again the next time I think I need a plumber!

Mark was prompt and called me before he arived. He was polite and amiable. As I explained the layout of the house and talked about the clogged drains, he was attentive and I didn't have to repeat anything. Mark went right to work and resolved the problems. He was aware of the time limit on the coupon and completed the work with 15 minutes to spare. Since I like to get my money's worth (which I did anyway), I asked him to review some rain barrels online that I'm considering buying. Rain barrels are not his specialty of ocurse, but I knew he knows a lot about water. Mark had great input and I've made a decision on one model. They were so wonderful. They were absolutely great. It was an Angie's List Big Deal. They were the best plumbers I have ever used. I could not believe how knowledgeable, friendly, courteous and professional they were. They explained things as they were doing them so I would know. I was so delighted with them. I will never use another plumber. Up until this time I had used a different plumber for 16 years. I will never use another plumber but these guys. I have told people how great these plumbers are and nobody talks about how great their plumber is.

He was very professional, informative, decisive, patient and determined to do a good job.

Sent an email later at night and I said it was not an emergency and could call on Monday but they called me that evening. Great experience and would use again.

Tech arrived on time as scheduled to do a routine toilet tuneup and after inspecting both toilets, said I needed to have the ballcock replaced as it was leaking in both. It would be an additional cost of $60 for both but I had it replaced. He also checked the water shut off and functionality of both toilets. After he left, I found that one of the toilets had a problem with the newly installed flapper and unless I manually pulled the flapper down each time inside the tank, the toilet continued to run. I called them the next day and got a return call from Eric Styles, service manager. He was apologetic and made an appointment to come out himself to correct the problem. He found the problem and corrected it, leaving me his card in case I had any other problems. He said that if there are any complaints they do not send the same tech out...the problem is escalated up to him and he personally takes care of it himself. I really appreciated that and think it is a good policy for any company to have. A day later, I went into the other bathroom and found water all over the floor leaking from the hose that had been reconnected to the new ballcock. I suspected that it had not been installed properly and immediately called Eric. He sent out a tech right away, who found the problem, and replaced the hose on that toilet as well as the other toilet. He did not charge me for the parts as he said I had been inconvenienced. Normally after an experience like this I would not rate the company very highly. However, their service recovery and quick response was great and for that reason I am rating this company highly, and would most likely use them again in the future.

Hired plumber to come out and fix 3 leaks in a new rental unit I bought down in Pacific. Plumber showed up with no parts even though I explained the leaks to the person taking the call. I hired them because I had a lot to do to get the rental ready for move in and although the plumber acted like he fixed the kitchen leak, the leak is still here today and his and quot;tighten hoseand quot; theory failed when I came back today and the leak is still here.In the two bathrooms he showed up with no pop up assembly's so all he could do is tell me what to buy at home depot. Not really what I wanted to spend my time doing and was the reason I hired them. I figured I would have to buy a faucet if it needed replaced but not basic plumbing parts. This is the most incompetent plumbing company I have ever worked with and would recommend that you steer clear of this plumber if you want your problem fixed unless you like to flush a couple hundred dollars down the toilet for no service whatsoever. Although pricing model is reasonable I can't even give them a fair rating because I got absolutely nothing for my money.

I called The Plumbing and Drain Co./Go Rooter for a second opinion regarding sewer line back-up. I had received an estimate from Gene Johnson plumbing that I thought was too high so I called Go Rooter. Gene Johnson's plumber could not find a main line access point and so suggested that pipes would need to be cut and a new access point created. Their estimate for this work plus clearing the main sewer line was $4,138.00. Eric Styles from Go Rooter showed up promptly and was very helpful. I didn't tell him about the Gene Johnson assessment or estimate. He came to the same conclusion that JG had that there was not a main line access point. His estimate for creating a new access point and clearing the line was about $1,000. Significantly less than the first estimate. He then figured out a way to access the main line without cutting into any pipes and refined the estimate to $250.00. He then agreed to accept an Angie's List coupon and did the work for $120.00. So I paid 30 times less than GJ Plumbing's estimate. The problem is fully resolved. Needless to say, I was very pleased with Eric Styles excellent work and his professionalism. The Plumbing and Drain Co./Go Rooter is my new go to plumbing company.

I used an Angie's List Big Deal for the work. We recently purchased our place and I wanted to remove a natural gas BBQ line that extended off the gas line that runs to our indoor gas cook top. The location of the BBQ hookup was in a bad spot right next to our sliding door, and we don't grill enough to actually need it, plus running 30 ft of pipe under an upper deck didn't seem like a great place for a gas line to be in the remote possibility a quake were to take out our deck. Peace of mind, I guess. I scheduled the appointment about 5 days out since it wasn't a high priority. Everything went fine, turned out to be easier than I thought it would be, but I'm too nervous trying to work with natural gas plumbing so wanted a pro to do it. Ken did the work, and called ahead of time to let me know he was on his way from the previous job. After looking at what needed to be done, he ran to the store for an .81 cent part. Came back, turned of the gas, and proceeded to take apart the piping underneath the deck. He then installed an end cap for the open part of the pipe. He took away all the old piping, turned the gas back on and reignited the natural gas water heater for me. Took about an hour fifteen from arrival to departure. Ken was friendly, and told me not to worry about the less than a buck material cost. I also asked him a few questions about maintenance of a sewage injector pump that pumps waste water from our daylight basement (which is below street level), and he was very helpful.

Thursday afternoon, I realized the laundry faucet was leaking at a fairly significant rate (several gallons per day). I initially contacted a different provider -- who offered an appointment the following Tuesday. On Friday 2:30pm, I found and contacted The Plumbing and Drain Co. I called and the dispatcher said they could have someone out within a few hours. 4:30pm, Mark called to say he was in route to my home. At 5pm, Mark arrived, assessed the issue, agreed that my existing wall mount faucet could be used, and had the work done with no mess left behind in about an hour. Very professional, focused, and did excellent work. I would definitely hire The Plumbing and Drain Co. again.

I called in the morning, he show up that afternoon.

AFTER CHECKING ON THE INTERNET FOR AN HOUR AND SAW HOW MANY COMPLAINTS THERE WERE AGAINST SEVERAL OF THE BIGGER PLUMBERS, WENT ONTO ANGIE'S LIST AND WENT FOR THE and quot;BIG DEALand quot; FOR and quot;THE PLUMBING and DRAIN CO/GO ROOTERand quot; -- PRINTED OUT THE COUPON AND CALLED FOR AN APPT... THEY WERE VERY COURTEOUS ON THE PHONE, VERY PROFESSIONAL AND IN MINUTES HAD AN APPT SET FOR THE NEXT MORNING. ' ED ARRIVED ON TIME - VERY PROFESSIONAL AND FRIENDLY - WITHIN MINUTES HE KNEW WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS AND WENT FOR HIS EQUIPMENT AND IN UNDER 20 MINUTES HE HAD UNCLOGGED THE DRAIN. HE WAS VERY KNOWLEGEABLE AND ANSWERED ALL OUR QUESTIONS AND WAS VERY HELPFUL IN DIRECTING US TO VARIOUS STORES FOR THE SEWER PLUG AND EXPLAINED WHAT IT WAS WE WOULD BE LOOKING FOR. IT STARTED OUT AS A NIGHTMARE BUT ENDED UP WITH A HAPPY ENDING - I GOT ON THE PHONE RIGHT AFTER HE LEFT AND CALLED MY FAMILY AND FREINDS AND TOLD THEM HOW GRATEFUL WE WERE TO ANGIE'S LIST AND THE PLUMBING and DRAIN COMPANY - WOULD REFER MY FAMILY,CO WORKERS and FRIENDS TO BOTH.

Mark from The Plumbing and Drain Company arrived at the scheduled time. He was courteous, pleasant and professional. There was no mess left after his work and my drain works better than it has in years.

I wasn't happy with one of the toilets. He came back the next day to fix what I wasn't happy with. Everything works fine.

When we had a plumbing emergency, Jim from the Plumbing and Drain Company was able to come to the house that day, diagnose the problem, and make the repair. They provided me with a 2-hour window in which Jim would arrive. He called when he was about 30 minutes away, which enabled me to go to work for a couple hours, then return to the house when he called, which was greatly appreciated. Jim diagnosed the problem and was happy to explain to me what was happening and what needed to be done to complete the repair. We quickly obtained the part he needed and he repaired the shower faucet. In addition, while he was there, he took a look around and fixed everything else in the house that needed fixing, which included a worn out showerhead and a running toilet. Everyone at the company that I met or spoke with was prompt, friendly, extremely skilled, and informative. I will definitely call them with plumbing issues that arise in the future!

The Saturday service was an emergency as we were preparing for a dinner party that evening. The plumber arrived within a reasonable time frame. He explained the process, went well past the actual clog to insure there were no additional clogs in the line and offered advice on other piping conditions he observed that needed attention. I should also note that their dispatcher, knowing we were a bit anxious, called twice to update the plumber's arrival time. He and the plumber were polite, knowledgeable and friendly. I felt I got above average service for my money.

Overall, it was a great experience and I intend on calling them back for future concerns! I am so grateful to have found such a honest, professional and personable plumber! Thanks Eric, I will be spreading the word about you!!
