Plumbing, Drain Cleaning, Sewer Cleaning,

About us

Local, family owned business which employs only licensed, journeyman plumbers and does not use subcontractors for any plumbing or drain cleaning related services provided. 45 successful years of experience in the plumbing industry. This means that you, our customers, are not paying for all of that unnecessary advertising either. It's also how we are able to provide the great service that we and our customers expect while charging rates that are lower than our competition. You will always know and approve the cost of the job before we begin any work. There will never be any surprises when you see our final invoice. Award winning. Good. Patrick was very nice and professional. The ONLY problem I had is when I went to register the water heater for the warranty, he had it written down wrong so I had to climb around and find the right one. He fixed my toilet flapper as a favor in lieu of not being able to offer a group discount for military or senior.

They cleared the blockage but it came back 6 weeks later. They used a camera next time and still didn't find a reason for the blockage. We ended up hiring a septic person who found the real problem. This company was friendly and fast and did refer us to the company that eventually resolved our problem. Was $350 first visit and $478 second (using camera on a Sunday.) They had to remove toilet both times.

They give us a special price based on that we call them for our rentals. They normally charge a higher price than that.

The initial response took 2 hours. The plumber was courteous on each visit. Initially, he looked into the crawl to determine the location and cause of the water leakage. There was a lot of water, about an inch and a half, in the crawl. He determined that the main water pipe had burst. He then turned off the water and returned to the crawl door, looked in and asked me to open some faucets, which I did. He closed up the crawl and agreed to return the following day to fix the pipe so my restoration company could begin the drying process. A few hours later, during the continuing rain and wind storm, I went to the garage and heard the water still pouring into the crawl. It was 3am. I looked into the crawl and determined the water was coming from a pipe near the back of the house that was spraying toward the front of the house. At that moment, I knew the pipe was not connected to the water delivery system and had to be part of the sump pump and drainage system. There was now 9 inches of standing water in my crawl and it had risen to a level where it was getting the wood frame and structure wet. I went to the garage and found that the only way to stop the sump from pouring more water into the space was to turn off the main breaker to the home. As I was trying to decide what to do, the storm knocked the power out. I turned the breakers off . The plumber returned the following morning and he was an hour late. When I told hint the problem was not the sump, he responded that the pipe was too small to be a dump. After his arrival, he looked in to the crawl and said he would not fix the pipe until I had the water removed. My water and power was off for two full days until I could get an appointment for another vendor to come remove the water. They pumped 4,000 gallons from below my home and secured the pipe so the pump could be restarted. The plumber returned to repair the pipe and was unprepared to do the work. (He called to me from the crawl to bring him a knife so he wouldn't have to go get his from the truck.). When I asked him to unplug the sump so I could keep the power on, he said "how will you plug it back in?" Although I would never want to engage myself in the plumbing trade I have great respect for those who do. However, at a time when I am paying for a service, I should not be made to feel as though I am receiving a favor. That was how I felt throughout my dealings with The Plumbing & Drain Company - Go Rooter. My emergency water issue has escalated from a minor nuisance that I would have taken care of without filing an insurance claim to an involved loss compromising the integrity of my home's structure as a direct result of this company's inaction. I would NEVER recommend them.

Called on 8/9/15 regarding a on-emergent leak that I thought might be the hot water heater, and scheduled for the next day. Was told the plumber would call before arriving, with an arrival window of between 2 and 4. The plumber did NOT call ahead, but did arrive at 3pm. I didn't get her name, (sorry about that) but she was very knowledgeable and gave me all my options without any high pressure sale. I live in a mobile home, so the water heater is elevated about 3.5 feet off the ground. She couldn't do the job on her own, and no one was available to come out that day. She called the office and we rescheduled for noon the next day. Not a problem, since it was not an emergency. I asked her to please call ahead so I could be sure to be home when she got there. She said she would. She arrived the next day on time, but again did NOT call ahead to let me know. Annoying, but far, far from a deal breaker. The person that was supposed to help her didn't show, but didn't mention it until the job was done, and she installed the tank BY HERSELF. I was very impressed! She did an excellent job, cleaned up after herself, was courteous and professional. The job was done at the price I was quoted and in a timely manner. I think I've found my long term plumbing service! In The Plumbing & Drain Co can tell who the plumber was, please give her my thanks for a job well done.

James from The Plumbing and Drain Co showed up at appointment time even though I failed to answer my confirmation call. Service was thorough. They identified the source of the leak as a cracked sink vent in the attic space and fixed it within the half hour. Fair price, quick professional service, no more leaks. This is the second time I've used their service.

My kitchen sink plugged up about 9:30 PM on 12/22/2014. Of course I was in the middle of pre-Christmas meal preparation. This has happened before and I knew that I could not fix the plug. The next morning (12/24/2014) I went on Angie's List to find a plumber. Called the Plumbing and Drain Company. When I spoke with the scheduler and explained my problem, she gulped, and then said that she would try and get me into the noon to 2 slot, and if a plumber came available sooner, they would be sent. About 2 I got a call telling me that I had not been forgotten, and that I would get the next available plumber. Problem was the plumber would be coming from either Tukwila, or Kent. At 2:30 I got the call that the plumber was enroute, but SR167 was at a standstill. By 4:00 I had two plumbers at my house!. Clearing the block did not take much time. What really pleased me was the price. I have been charged almost $300 for the same service in the past, and on Dec 24th, I was prepared to do the same. When I was told that the total price was $168.00, I thought the price to be very reasonable. I was very pleased with the service provided, and the professionalism of the staff that was sent to my house. I will use this company again in the future. ,

Everything from making the appointment to completing the job went very well! We had mentioned to Eric that our line was backed up as evidenced by the standing water in our basement. Eric and Randy opened the c/o to access the line and used 80+ feet of snake to clear the issue. These guys are professionals and got the job done in less than an hour. I highly recommend The Plumbing and Drain Company. They are professionals, courteous, and the price was just right!

I had called a different plumber who came out then never followed up. There review is next. LOL. I left a message here and it got overlooked at first. But once they got on the job, they were excellent. The guy who initially came out and evaluated the situation (Jim) was spot-on about the problem and quick to develop a solution. He couldn't do it right away because it was going to be a 4-hour job. I only had to wait a couple of days. The day of the appointment a different guy came to do the job (Alo). At first I was concerned about that. In my experience when you make a plan with one guy then they send out someone else, the new person's understanding of what was expected ends up being a little different and then I have to play fifty questions and make new decisions. That didn't happen here. Jim was thorough enough in explaining everything so I got no surprises. Alo marched on with the project and only came and got me to let me know what he was doing when he thought I needed to know. He never deviated from the plan or told me things were going to go different as planned as has happened to me in the past with other service providers. THANK goodness! I would call it a pretty involved job. They had to access behind the tub faucet and replace some of the piping back there, plus install new stems and faucet knobs. Fortunately, there is a hidden access point from inside the linen closet. It was a tight fit, but Alo was a trooper about it. He even had to open the access point bigger because it wasn't high enough to reach the area needed. Both Jim and Alo were knowledgeable and professional. Just great! It was about four hours work, plus the price of parts and a really nice new 3-pc handset for $611.01. I feel that is very reasonable.

Description of Work: Diagnose why my dishwasher was backing up in sink when draining and sink usually drained slow. He opened the cleaned out to observe draining when flushing the toilet and draining sinks. It was not a septic problem but possibly a narrowing of a portion of some older galvanized pipe.. Ron arrived on time and after I explained the problems (front faucet would sometimes leak after being turned off, back one leaked badly when turned on) he checked them to see if they were and quot;repairableand quot; or needed to be replaced before he wrote up our free estimate. They were both the original ones installed when the house was built 35 years ago. Both had to be replaced. The estimate was in line with 'ball-park' figures I had received from calls to other plumbers so I accepted his quote. However, since both replacements would require access through our narrow crawl-space under the house, he informed us that he could not complete the job but did call a co-worker. Jarrett arrived a couple of hours later and did complete the work. Because of the accessibility issue and a problem with removing the old faucet and installing the new one through the brick faand ccedil;ade in the front, the job took longer than expected but he still charged us based on the original quote! Both plumbers were congenial and professional. The Plumbing and Drain Co. will be my first call if I need any plumbing work in the future.

Wow - what a great Company. I phoned on June 25th to describe the problem and request an estimate. John Bradley was out at the house the next morning to inspect the pipe and provided an estimate which I accepted. John returned that same day at 2PM to complete the work - replaced with new ABS to both bathroom sinks and kitchen sink. Removed oldgalvanized pipe. Inspected rest of plumbing in crawl space.

Everyone from woman who took intake phone call and John, the plumber, were courteous and professional. John initially came and gave me estimate that would have been slightly over $700 with tax which I thought was very reasonable given amount of work potentially involved. He came in next day calling me at 8:00 AM to state that he is leaving for my house which is good 45 minutes drive without traffic. He did come at 9:30 AM, late due to traffic from accident on the highway. When we expressed reservation about cutting through our brand new bathroom cabinet to get assess to the pipe, he later figured out way to assess the pipe through basement ceiling. he worked until 3:00 PM replacing the pipe and changing out bathtub fixtures. His estimate included 3 hours of labor but he charged us 2 hours labor only which I didn't understand but pleasantly surprised since he clearly was at my home for over 5 hours. Thus, my final bill including the tax was about $100 less than quoted amount. Everything was clean, working, and cut basement ceiling not noticeable. My previous plumber experience was with Beacon Plumbing which cost over $700 for 1 1/2 hour of work. Plumbing and drain company was more professional, honest, and work appeared to be just as good. I think I found new plumber for life!

The company provided service exactly when they said they could. They provided a technician that was capable of all the work I needed and he was able to provide me some insight on two fixes I could make in my new bar that would help. He was not able to get the cold water flowing in the bar only the hot water. However, he spent quite a bit of time (which he did not charge me for) trouble shooting what the issue was. The prep work had been completed by a different contractor during a remodel. The plumbing was in the wall but never turned on. It was determined that the water line had been pinched in the process of being run and would not be able to be used without opening up my ceiling and wall. Everything that could be done was done and he left me with plenty of information to be able to go back to my original contractor with to get the problem fixed. I was very thankful that such a knowledgeable technician was sent for my job. It really helped me and saved me a ton of money and time in the long run.

We collected bids from three plumbers for this work before we started. The Plumbing and Drain Co. (PDC) were by far the easiest to talk to AND the most reasonably priced. We have had the same guy out to our house each time; his name is Jim, and he is an accomplished plumber as well as an experienced tradesmen in several other areas. Jim was incredibly helpful to us during this work. That cleanout valve, for example, was really proving an obstacle because of the way it stuck out of the wall in our bathroom. Jim's suggestions for fixing it were great; and his quote on the work was very reasonable. In all cases his work has been excellent. He is also terrific about cleaning up and not leaving anything behind, which is appreciated. We absolutely intend to have PDC do the rest of the necessary work for us in our house (which is substantial). I highly recommend them!
Description of Work: We are at the end of remodeling the first floor or our house: approximately 1800 square feet, including a bathroom and a laundry room. The Plumbing and Drain Co. (PDC, that's just too long to type out again) were a big help. Briefly, here are the jobs they have done so far: - Moved gas line (so it's concealed with a wall) for dryer. - Moved/updated plumbing in laundry room so sink and appliances can be rearranged. - Moved/updated plumbing in bathroom to get ready for new vanity. - Removed hideous cleanout valve in bathroom (seriously, it was truly ugly). - Added tasteful (hidden) cleanout valve elsewhere.
