The contract specified that the movers began the start of the move @ 4:30 p.m. I was billed $40 additional charges for going 3 minutes over the 2.5 hours. The time itself is inaccurate: the drivers were 15 minutes late! (they did not even arrive at my apartment until ca. 4:45 p.m. and began work closer to 4:50 p.m.) On top of this, the 3 minutes I was held accountable for involved one of the movers asking me for a pen to sign my contract at the end of the move. It took me approximately 3 minutes to return to my apartment, search for a pen, and return outside. They then -charged me for this time.- Keep in mind, on top of everything else, they had previously cancelled the initial agreed-upon service date with no offers of amendment. Not even so much as an apology for time lost on my end. Some positive points first: the movers were extremely professional and almost acrobatic in their coordination. They did some lifts that I thought were almost impossible. That said: customer service was extremely poor. They were clearly more interested in nickel-and-diming me than offering any sort of professional conciliation for: (a) multiple cancellations; (b) being tardy. Again: they manipulated me into getting a pen to sign their contract so that they could charge me additional expenses for time spent getting a pen to sign their contract. Pricing is deceptive. While the initial rate is low, there is a minimum 3-hr. move rate. Rival companies may charge slightly more, but will not require this 3-hour minimum fee, so you end up saving money. Additional fees going over the 3 hours (it's really 2.5 hours--30 minutes is automatically eaten for "driving time". Essentially, I was charged for 45 minutes of driving time because they were late. What this means is that of the 180 minutes I initially paid for, I was only given 135 actual minutes of labor. They counted the exorbitant additional fees (3 minutes) following the 2.5 hours as "driving time" as well. I cannot possibly recommend this business to anyone in need of moving. There are much cheaper, consumer-friendly alternatives out there.
