The plumber tightened a chain in the toilet so it would flush. He recommended we replace our fixtures with low-flow. The workers were very timely and called to ask if they could come a little early. They were so polite and professional I would call them again.

They had to reschedule the original appointment due to an emergency. But when they did get here they kept me informed and did the job. And the price was actually lower than the estimate. A bunch of very hard working professionals! Great job.

Hunts are great. We've worked with them a couple of times now. They're really great about scheduling and rescheduling appointments. The plumber arrived on time and got straight to work, and the job was quick. He was nice and respectful. I would definitely call them again if we needed something.

My experience from beginning to end with Hunts was great. I worked with Gil for the plumbing and he was incredibly responsive, informative and helpful. Hunts was extremely accommodating to my schedule and needs. I know Gil saved me some money and he obviously knew his stuff. Thanks!

They would never get back to us. They said that they would get a part for us and three weeks later, they still hadn't had the part. They wouldn't talk to us. I had to call them. Then they said, "Oh, we'll have the part by Friday. We'll call you to schedule an appointment." In the fourth week, they still hadn't called by Wednesday. I finally called them and they said, "Oh, yeah, we have the part. But it's going to cost you $300 to fix your toilet." So, we went and bought a whole new toilet for less than $250. They never gave us an estimate even though they promised to get one within the first two days. They said that you would get 10% off if we used Angie's List. But they never even gave us 10% off. We ended up not paying anything just because they never did anything. The front staff was awesome. The people I called and talked to were fine. But, the technician who came to our house - he was the one who needed to do the estimate and who needed to get to us, never contacted us. They were prompt in coming out. But, they specifically asked me to send in photos and information about my toilet and I did. So, I went through the process of sending the front office all of the information for the toilet and the part I needed. When they showed up, they said, "Oh, we don't have the part." So, it was a total waste of time, even though I'd given them all the information before they ever came. It was one of the worst experiences we've had with a provider in a while. Their estimate seemed really high. They told us that it would cost $700 for them to replace our toilet if we didn't want to wait for the part and we were able to buy the toilet for $200 and put it in ourselves within two hours.

He was late for 15 minutes, possibly due to traffic. That's excusable. Once he got here, he went right to work. Within 15 minutes or so, we got the furnace started and he also replaced the dirty filter for us at no extra cost. It turns out it was a false alarm on our part, the furnace is working fine. Will hire again.

The office staff were very friendly and helpful when I called for an appointment, and were able to get us an appointment on the day requested. On Monday (appointment was from 4-6) we received a call from the office that the tech was in our area would it be possible for him to drop by earlier than our appointment ...of course! Aaron called to let us know he was about 10 minutes out, and got here within 10 minutes. Not only was he able to fix the issue quickly, but also gave us some wonderful hints and tips to help from getting further clogs, and for general maintenance. He was very professional, and very friendly and as a result, this was probably one of the best experiences we've had with a plumbing company. Would definitely use Hunts Plumbing again, and recommend them to friends/family.

They replaced the part which other plumber made mistake by installing the gasket backwards! Also adjusted the handle to get more hot water and tighten the shower head by adding some threads other plumber didn't complete the job properly! Hunt's will be my plumber!!

Gil was great. Very prompt and courteous, and honest about the work. They scheduled me quickly and worked fast and clean. I'd definitely use Hunt's again.

the fellow who gave us an estimate came back ( timely) a few days later. He said he couldn't fix the two wobbly faucets we were most concerned about, nor the sink faucet w inadequate water pressure. He claimed to fix the leaky toilet, but it still leaks. He made a VERY minor decrease from his estimate. But bottom line, we didn't get hardly any value for our money, and I am going to have to get another plumber to come out, since I don't have confidence in these folks.

I got home from vacation to see that I had a flow of water coming from my back hose bib. I called Hunt's Plumbing and left a voicemail message. I received a return call within 5 min. They were booked for the next few days but Brenda contacted Aaron who immediately called me and asked questions regarding my problem and offered short term solutions. After discussing my issue, he and Brenda fit me into the schedule to fix my water flow leak. Aaron came the next day on time. He fixed the hose bib issue within 30 min. I also had questions about my toilets running. He took the time to explain to me what was happening and how to replace a simple part. Any questions I had, he took the time to help me understand what was happening.

They did a great job and had reasonable pricing.

I have given a B rating due to the fact the plumber had to come out twice to fix the problem. We also had to pay an additional $104 since the plumber estimated the work to be more than the "Big Deal" offer. Other than that, he provided good service and my drain is now working.

We were able to get on the schedule with Hunt's quickly. When Gil arrived, he was really helpful in explaining what he was doing and why. I told him about several projects we needed and he was able to address each one and provided me a price before doing the work. Good experience and would use Hunt's again.

To begin with, I was impressed not only with the reviews and ratings of Hunt's Plumbing and Heating, but what sold me was the fact that the owner took the time to respond to each and every review I saw here on Angie's list. At the time I was looking, there were 400+ reviews. Some of my negative review can be chalked up to just plain old bad timing, but not all of it. Background We are trying to get a ductless mini-split installed in my dad's house. He isn't concerned about the cooling aspect of the system; he wants to heat a small portion of his house in the winter. Unfortunately, he wants to address this in the summer, during a prolonged heatwave when everyone else wants AC in their homes. This is the bad timing aspect of my review - trying to install what is a dual-purpose system during a peak demand time.. Review Jessie, from Hunt's, was scheduled at Dad's house on 30 June to evaluate his needs and our time slot was between 1100 and 1:00 PM. He arrived at 1104, was super nice and knowledgeable, and a pleasure to work with. Since we know mostly what we want, and are talking to other vendors, our visit lasted only 30 minutes. At the end of the visit he told us we should receive the bid the following day, July 1st. July 1st came and went, no bid, but I cut him some slack since Dad doesn't care about the AC, he just wants to get the process started, and also with the heat we've been experiencing I knew Jessie and Hunt's, along with everyone else, had more demand than they knew what to do with. The Fourth of July holiday weekend was also rapidly approaching and figured they would close shop early for the holiday. Sunday night, July 5th I sent Jessie a follow-up email in the hopes of getting a response on Monday. My first attempt failed because I mis-typed his address, but the second attempt was not rejected so I can only assume someone received it. By noon on Monday, July 6th, I still hadn't received either a bid or even a response from Jessie so I called the number on his business card and was surprised to get Hunt's office and not Jessie. The were very friendly and courteous and apologized for the delay, but said the bid would be sent by the end of the day. They even went so far as to verify my email address and name (which is my email address) because my last name has an unusual spelling. End of day came and went, but again, no bid. By this time I was losing patience. Mid day on Tuesday, I called the office again, explained the situation, but hadn't identified myself yet, and was put on hold to talk to the lady who coordinates the bids. I feel it is important to note I didn't identify myself because each time I had previously called the office they seemed know who I was through caller ID. Also, by this time, i felt like whomever answered the phone was overwhelmed and just wanted to move me along so she could help whomever was on another call (my perception - this may not be accurate). I waited on hold for a solid 5 minutes and hung up. As of this writing on July 9th, I have still not received a bid, or any further contact from Hunt's and am disappointed because I thought I had done a thorough job in separating the wheat from the chaff. Whether Hunt's are too busy or the job too small, I am done waiting and moving on to another vendor. I hope others have a better experience.

It went great. The tech came out, identified the problem, and realized that, because we had an older, less common unit, he would have to go back to the shop for a part. He told me the additional price, went and got it, and came back and got my A/C working. Although it did not perform to HIS satisfaction (again, older unit), we discussed other possible future options. He then took the time to look through all of the other components the house uses to heat the house, and this was all on his DAY OFF.

After initial visit, it took two weeks for the parts to arrive. As delivered it was an inch too narrow, so the plumber improvised and rebuilt it to fit.

This is the second time we have used Hunt's. First time was a furnace check and clean and this time was for a heat pump check and clean. Rich the technician was punctual, gave us a pre call to confirm he was on the way. He arrived and got right to work checking air flow and then the condition of my heat pump and when that was done he cleaned the entire unit. He gave me a few tips on maintenance and was on his way. Very professional company, both instances have been top notch and they are great communicators. Definitely would recommend their services.

They arrived on time, did good work, but they were tricky on the pricing by lumping labor costs in with materials trying to keep their customers in the dark about how much they were actually charging for the work and the materials. They quoted an expansion tank that costs $246 plus tax. I looked up the price online for that item, and it costs about $40. When I asked them later why they charged so much for it, they said it was for the installation and setting the pressure correctly. I looked that up, and the $200 extra is a 10 minute job to do. They quoted me $1200 to put in a water heater without telling me what kind it was going to be or how much the unit actually costs. Later, when I saw what they put in, it turned out to be a $500 Rheem water heater with a 6-year mfg warranty. I tried to question why it was so expensive to put in, but they wouldn't relent on the price. The work was good, but I should have gotten a competitive quote, but it would have put me out of hot water for a few more days if I had tried to find a more reasonable contractor. In hindsight, I think I was overcharged by about $400 for the whole job. I'm sure that these guys know that when a homeowner has an emergency, then they can take advantage of the situation and get them to sign their ambiguous overpriced quote or they will just leave them in distress if they don't. 7/24/15 - Customer Response to the Hunt's Plumbing response: Hunt's Plumbing did NOT provide FULL details prior. Full details would include a breakdown of labor and materials, and which specific model and quality of water heater and expansion they were going to install, the item pricing and what the warranty on it was. It was just vague and ambiguous until the job was done. They just gave lump sum pricing initially, and it was pretty much take it or we leave you with your emergency. I researched the pricing on the items they were installing, and to find out I was being price gouged on a bill of over $1600 to install less than $600 worth of materials (retail pricing). Once I found out online what the materials being installed cost, I tried to reason with the technician a little bit after the job was started, but it was like, 'Sorry, but you already authorized us and that's what we charge.'. The day after I posted my negative review, they called and tried to refund me $75 to take down my review. I told them that I was over-charged far more than that. The gal called me back and told me the owner would call me to discuss, but he never called. I feel that I should have been charged fairly to begin with. Getting charged fairly would be like this: 'Ok, our installation (labor) charge to put in a water heater is $xxx.00 and here is the cost of the water heater and expansion tank and other miscellaneous materials that we put in.

The plumber was great, very professional. Our appointment was at 4pm and he showed up at 3:45 and got everything together and ready before coming to the door so he was ready to start immediately at 4. He was fast and efficient and gave us advice on some of our other plumbing questions (we are new homeowners). He was very honest and told us which services we'd actually need and which ones we wouldn't have to worry about. It seemed like he was interested in creating a good customer relationship so we'd hire Hunt's again in the future, as opposed to just trying to get as much money as possible out of us. We clearly do not have a lot of plumbing expertise and he didn't take advantage of that. He also gave us some advice on other plumbing maintenance details so we can avoid some common missteps in the future. We were treated very well and we will definitely use this company in the future.

Rich from Hunt's Plumbing was a great guy. He explained what he was doing and why he was doing it when he serviced our heat pump. Very personable, very efficient, and a great job! We will certainly use Hunt again.

It went very well. They are great at customer service, neat and timely. I would definitely refer them.

they don't install window ac units, only the big ones. Not enough money in it.

I thought the price was a bit steep for the work done.
