Work was done in timely manner. Actually, the work part was fine. However, I sensed a severe lack of clear communication regarding the price, which turned out to be outrageous, astronomically, beyond all reason high. Terms like "price gouging," "overpriced," "inflated," and well..."RIPOFF!!" come to mind. We will never use them again, and will warn any and all NOT to use them. All in all.....a very bad experience.

Most homeowners don’t have a lot of experience with having to hire home repair service providers so they are not sure how to evaluate them other than by price. But the lowest price can be the least important part of what you get when you hire a professional, licensed, permitted, certified, drug-tested, criminal-free, bonded and insured service provider with the proper tools, training, and technology to do the right things right the first time and guarantee their work. Our first job as a local expert for the last 27 years (and for a long time to come), is to be reliable and fair. We do this by giving you good information so you can make smart choices as to what’[Member Information Removed] best for your family, your home and your bank account for the long term. While we may not be the cheapest plumbers around, and are far from the most expensive, our customers tell us we are the most consistent, most reliable and offer the best value for your dollar. What most homeowners don’t take into consideration is a good company does not sell service like a commodity, where one hour of our time is exactly equivalent to one hour of the butt crack plumber from Craig'[Member Information Removed] List, or any other comparison. We dedicate time every morning for training to stay on top of our game, and we provide insurance and bonding to protect our customers, not to mention the myriad of other costs it requires to just stay in business in this heavily regulated and litigious society. This particular customer was shown the price in advance, agreed to it, and signed the invoice. They apparently have some random made-up number of what we should charge, but they never shared that number with us. We're not clear what we should have done differently.

The plumber did a good job. The cost was very high. He said the work was guaranteed and the invoice would be sent to me by email. I have not gotten a write up or invoice or anything in writing. I have asked 3 times to send me the invoice. Maybe they are working on the side and not reporting the earnings to the company. Something is fishy.

I was contacted quickly after entering my request for estimates. Everyone I talked to from Bob Larson Plumbing was courteous and helpful, including Don, Bob Larson, Robert, Mike, and Deborah. They answered all my questions patiently. The work was completed by Michael (Mike) who was helpful, kind, willing to answer all my questions, tested out the replacements and kept me informed throughout. Michael finished in the estimated time and cleaned up so well you wouldn't know that a plumber had worked under every sink in the house. From start to finish Bob Larson Plumbing were well organized, efficient, friendly, professional and trustworthy. I will definitely hire them again for any plumbing needs.

Bob and Deborah at Bob Larson Plumbing bent over backwards to help with a long, drawn-out puzzle of a problem that involved fixing another plumber's mistakes. The situation: A brand new Takagi on-demand water heater was installed incorrectly in a 30-ft Airstream mobile home by a licensed/bonded plumber who said he knew how to install Takagi's. The Airstream is my daughter's home. The centerpiece of her newly -remodeled-from-scratch bathroom includes an acrylic claw foot tub. My daughter was so looking forward to enjoying hot baths in her Airstream. After many months including a long snowy winter in Snoqualmie with no not water due to a problem with the new water heater, I reached out to Bob Larson Plumbing. I live in Tacoma. The company was referred to me by a friend. Bob and Deborah were both so very kind and patient over the phone, listening to my daughter's needs and frustrations. They offered possible solutions to avoid spending more money than she had already spent. Happy Ending: Bob Larson made a special trip all the way to Snoqualmie and found and fixed the initial installation problem in about an hour. Now my daughter is enjoying hot baths in her Airstream for the first time. We are beyond grateful to Bob Larson Plumbing! They treated us like part of the family.

When we had a disconnected duct under our house replaced and re-connected the service people smelled natural gas. They quickly determined that it was a rusty gas pipe that became rusty due to a leaky tub above that had been repaired several years earlier. The furnace people were completely booked for the next 15 days and recommended that we call Bob Larson Plumbing. They turned off the gas and left us with no heat or hot water. This was at 10:30am Calling Bob Larson Plumbing they responded immediately with a tech to be onsite between 2 and 4pm. Later they called back and was able to have a tech onsite by noon. Two techs arrived at noon, did a estimate, went to the store to by a needed 12 foot pipe, did the repair and we were back in heat and hot water by 4pm. We were most pleased by the quick response, professionalism, and thoroughness of the job. They really know their business and we are most pleased.

This guy came in and was rude from the start. I am a woman and I am the one calling and making the appointment. This guy came in and wouldn't discuss things with me, insisted on only talking to my husband. Then as he was leaving he wouldn't even shake my hand. I didnt care what the quote was, he could have said it was FREE and I knew right then that he wasn't coming back. I would have given an F but I have to give them credit for the up front niceness and prompt service upon reaching out. Very prompt service.

Robert was so sympathetic, that he called Monday evening to make sure the gas company had turned the gas back on. Then, he surprised us on Tuesday: he had enough time between appointments to come back and finish the job. He installed all new connections because the previous ones were not only wrong, but illegal. And, he installed the transition pipe with the proper floor clamp (missing when the range was originally installed). We are all delighted! Not only was Robert personable, knowledgeable and professional, the job was done perfectly and sooner than expected. (And he cleaned up!) Robert gets 6 stars on a 5-star scale.
Description of Work: A new Tenant had just moved in, and they smelled a faint gas odor. It was a Saturday morning. The gas co. was called, and they turned off the gas, terminating hot water as well as the gas range. The professionals with whom I usually work, were unavailable: either slammed or on vacation. It was Monday morning before most companies answered the phone. When I was referred to Larson Plumbing, we were relieved when Robert squeezed in a visit to the house to see the scope of the job. He had another appointment, but stayed to disconnect the gas line to the range, leaving the main line in tact. This was enough to get the gas turned on, and hot water reinstated. We made an appointment to complete the job for his first opening, on Thursday.

I was told by the technician that there was a 50-50 chance that the service would not fix the broiler because it looked so bad. He quoted me a price of about $1000 because it would take extra time. He offered to sell me a new broiler for $10,000. I told him I would like to try to repair it . He ordered a part and came back a few days later. The service took about 1/2 the amount of time he quoted so I asked if the charge was going to be less. Then he told me it is a flat rate charge, no matter how long it takes, contradicting his initial quote. I asked for a receipt with a breakdown of the charges which I was never provided with. I am responding to the service providers response to my review. I thought the quality of their work was very good, they responded promptly and finished the work in the time they said they would. The reason I reviewed them poorly on cost is because the lack in transparency on what they are charging me for. They bought a part and did not break down the cost with respect to the labor cost. They also said this was a flat rate charge but there were no codes or description of the service provided other than "boiler service. " I called the company several times to ask if I could get an itemized receipt. I also asked how much the part was and got different answers, as well as an excuse that they have new software which they are just getting used to worked with.

There seems to be some disagreement over the facts. We encountered a boiler that had apparently not been serviced for a long time. We gave the owner the options to service it, or replace it, with no guarantee that servicing would solve the problem, due to extremely high levels of corrosion on the heat exchanger. The owner was informed that the repair would be $945 plus tax, because we had to spend a lot of time cleaning the corrosion. We also had to make a return trip with new parts. There was no mention of charging more for "extra time," the price remained unchanged. And we're not sure where the perception came from that we took less time than expected; we ended up spending over 10 man hours devoted to this repair. We hear this from time to time, that we should charge less because the job took less time than expected. I often wonder how willing those same people would be to offer more if the job took longer than expected? The reason that we charge a flat rate price just like most other industries from mechanics to restaurants, rather than time and material, is because most consumers would rather know the cost in advance. Most of them are not interested in watching over a repair person's shoulders to make sure they're not wasting time. We agree.

Fantastic company! They have been extremely helpful, explain everything carefully in language I can understand, and are extremely responsive. Simply the best company to work with when water does things it isn't supposed to. the service was way over priced. The bill was over $1,000.00 Bob Larson Plumbing refused to do parts and labor pricing. They left water on the floor. They said the service was done but forgot to place the cover on the water heater. When I pointed out the mistake the technician used the excuse of leaving the cover off for the unit to dry or in case the leak returned - obviously not sure of his work. The water heater instructions say the unit must not be operated without the cover in place therefor not true and bad advice. Technician also tried to say the settings on the water heater were wrong even though it's been working just fine for 7 years with the unit set per the instructions from the factory. The technician said my pipes would wear out and should be replaced by thick commercial rated pipes, residential rated piping is acceptable per the code and the installation instructions don't require commercial rated pipes. Therefor not true and bad advice.

UPDATE: The customer had a separate issue with failure of the control module on the water heater. We offered to perform the repair for only our cost of the part. While we were there, the owner mentioned that they were thankful and would remove the negative review here. Obviously, that didn't happen. The customer displays a substantial amount of confusion over the facts of this case. We would like to address each point separately: 1. Correct, we don't do parts and labor pricing. Surveys show that most consumers would rather know the price in advance, than worry about how much time a technician is spending on their job. In this case, we informed them ahead of time that we would be charging a minimum of $189 for diagnosis of the Navien tankless heater. After diagnosis, we found that the bypass valve on the circulator was in the wrong position, that the flow sensor needed to be replaced, and that several O-rings were leaking, and recommended replacing them. We presented options from $685 to $1575, depending on how much work they preferred to have done. They selected the $856 level, less the 10% discount we offered them. There were no surprises, they agreed to the price in advance. 2. The cover was off when we arrived. We are utterly baffled by the comments above. As certified Navien technicians, we are allowed to operate the appliance without the cover in place, but did install it before we left. There was no mention of letting the heater dry out, but...(see next point) 3. During the process of disassembling the components of the heater, some water spilled on the floor. We wiped it up to the best of our ability, but did recommend keeping the closet door open to let the closet dry out. 4. One of the reasons we were called is because the unit displayed an error code related to the circulator. We found that the bypass valve had been set incorrectly. It may have been working for 7 years, but not efficiently. We rectified the error. 5. We made no reference to "commercial pipe" upgrades. What we did note is that the CONDENSATE drained to a floor drain in the closet. In case of a clogged sewer, they would be getting sewage all over the floor in that room. We gave them the option of upgrading the floor drain to a hub drain to avoid dealing with that issue, but they declined. Overall, we can't discern what we should have done differently. We're not sure if these negative comments are the product of simple confusion or malicious intent, but the childish message we received on our voicemail the next day, expressing his intent to ruin our reputation and force us out of business, is a clue. Some people are just impossible to please.

Updated 08/16/2017: I am responding to the "Service Provider Response" posted by Bob Larson Plumbing LLC. His excuse laden response compels me to do so. He states "This issue is a technicality". Nothing could be further from the truth. The Facts: 1. The city of Des Moines, WA per city Code Title 5 specifically requires all companies doing business in the city to "obtain a City business license". 2. Although he attempts to brush off this requirement, it is not optional for Mr. Larson. 3. His hollow excuse that he does not have time to comply with the Code requirements is certainly exhibiting, as a minimum, an unprofessional attitude. 4. He states: " ... coming from a person who has too much time on his hands ..." Comment: I will always devote time to hold individuals accountable for their actions and in this case inaction - the public wants to know the truth not be told excuses as documented above. 5. Mr. Larson seems to be unable to recognize that ...... he just got caught ..... by the city. 6. He cannot plead ignorance to the Des Moines code requirements as his company was once registered, however, the registration was not renewed after it expired. 7. One can clearly understand, based on internet postings, that anyone who questions him after he issues an initial 'apology', will quickly become the target for his responses that will blame the customer as the cause of any dispute - he attempts to portray himself as the victim. I wish to thank this site for the opportunity to set the record straight and to document the facts.
Description of Work: Notes: (a) this review is specific to the fact that when this work was conducted (January 2017), the company did not have a current business registration as required by the city of Des Moines, WA. (b) the company cannot plead ignorance to the registration requirement as they had a prior registration that expired years ago and was never updated as of June 2017. . As a result most of my responses are N/A. Hired this company to conduct maintenance on a tank less water heater in my home

This issue is a technicality. If we checked on the status of business registrations for every suburb and small town in which we do repairs, we wouldn't have time to do the repairs. This is coming from a person who has too much time on his hands, and has decided to use his time destructively rather than constructively.
