Description of Work: Service not performed after doing research on the company. I am posting this to warn Angie's List members b/c I see only high ratings here and I learned weeks later via a news broadcast on King5, that Beaverworx has failed to pay their roofing suppliers. This has caused the roofing suppliers to file liens on the property owners. This did not show up on the contractor's license info with Washington State when I checked, or the BBB at the time. Beaverworx looked good. Fred Beaver did arrive on time at my residence for the estimate. Mr. Beaver never delivered the estimate as promised (he said he would mail it and it never arrived - I never followed up with him due to the circumstances). Mr. Beaver said I needed plywood on my roof. When I questioned him about this, he said I actually could use osb instead, it's less expensive and as good. He said he has osb on his home. His inspection of my roof seemed ok, not great. I had similar experiences with 6-8 other contractors, so nothing unusual except for the lien issue. Many contractors claimed I needed plywood (I ended up verifying with the shingle manufacturer I planned to go with that I did not need plywood or osb on my roof, btw). I had three contractors who provided estimates and said I did not need plywood and choose from those three b/c their records were clean and their estimates seemed honest.

worker was very thorough and took the time to show me pictures of what the problems looked like before he did the work and then what they looked like after; made several suggestions for upkeep; I was expecting a quick, cursory look, but he was at our house for 3-4 hours; I will certainly call them for any roofing problems I have.

John Campopiano, a Beaver Worx sales rep, came out and basically did a roof inspection. He looked up inside the attic, climbed up onto the roof measured and took pictures. He came down and said he would be in touch after he got his report done. In which he did and he back out and we sat down where he went over the overall shape of my existing roof. He told me my roof had been installed incorrectly and is showing it's age. After living in out current house for 3 years, and getting and fixing leaks for the last 3 years I kinda figured that. So John went over his proposal aka "sales pitch", offering 3 different options with the ability to modify each option. The meeting lasted about an hour or so, as I didn't commit due to the fact that my wife wasn't there. In which he had no problem with, no pressure, left his card and the paperwork behind and said to give him a call if there were any questions. Their estimate was middle of the road compared to other companies that I had gotten bids from. After discussing with my wife I e-mailed John and he more than happily came out for an evening meeting at 6pm, this time with my wife. I had suggested to him that he could just go over the high points for my wife, so he didn't have to spend too much of his personal time working, he went far beyond and gave his whole pitch again. Being thouroly impressed with him and Beaver Worx, we decided to go with them. The office called on a Tuesday and said that the roofing crew would be out the following Monday to start the project at approximately 845 am. Victor and the crew showed up promptly at 830 with their gear, trucks, and tools and got right to work. They did half of the roof at a time, tearing off the old 3 tab and plywood then laying down the new wood and underlayment. These guys worked from bell to bell, only breaking for lunch. At the end of the work day they did a fairly good clean up job, leaving only a few stray nails. They did leave their trailer here at night, after asking, I figured by doing so that would cut down on their prep time at the shop and just get to work. We had Fred Beaver show up that last day of them laying shingles, and installed our Solatube, and kinda showed me around up on the roof and that I should get a chimney guy to come and look at my chimney for it too has seen better days. Two days after they finished installing the roof a two man crew came out and installed a bathroom fan for us in just about an hour, since I had to leave to pickup my daughter at daycare. Then they installed the down spouts. All in all, these guys did a bang up job. My wife and I, and a few of our neighbors, are highly impressed with our new roof. It is such a relief that I don't have to worry about anymore leaks, and having to climb up on a mushy roof with a tube of seal fixing it. I would definitely recommend Beaver Worx roofing to anyone looking to have a roof done. UPDATE *** 2/15/2012*** I just recieved notice of lien against my home due to Beaverworx not paying his supplier.
Description of Work: Compete reroof, including all plywood, diamond deck underlayment, certainteed landmark architectural shingles, ridge cap vent, redid all vents, relined built in gutters, changed 2inch down spouts to 3 inch, installed solatube and a bathroom fan.

Beaver was original recommended by a friend and we looked at Angies to confirm the reputation. They had a quote to us within two days. The bid was easy to understand and they answered all my questions. Got on the schedule for about 3 weeks later, but they had an opening about a week later, which turned out good, since it poured on our scheduled date. Took them about 2 days to finish all the work. Since I was remote they sent pictures of the work and the finished job. They left the job site clean. Couldn't be happier with the work and the tenants are now happy that there will be no more leaks.
Description of Work: Replaced the whole roof of composite shingles on a 4 plex.

Let me say that I like the company, and wanted to use them to re-roof my house. Problem was (for them) was that I got a good (apples to apples) bid from another company that was $7,000 lower. Same services, same material, same everything. I gave them a chance to come down on the bid and was told that they would take $1,000 off the price if I posted one of their signs in my yard for 90 days. Price was the issue here. I wish I could have used them, but a $7,000 price difference was too much.

I received 5 or 6 estimates for this job. BeaverWorx was not the cheapest, but was definitely in the ball park with three others. What impressed me about this company is that it was the only one that insisted on going into the attic to check for water leaks. While there, the salesman found an exhaust pipe that hadn't been properly vented outside the roof. BeaverWorx was the only company that suggested ridge style venting, as opposed to just replacing the old style existing vents and adding a couple more. BeaverWorx was accurate in determining that I had three existing layers of roofing materials to remove. Two of the other companies said there were only two. The salesman was very thorough. The roofers and carpenters arrived on schedule, finished on schedule, and the final results are beautiful!
Description of Work: The crew from this company removed three layers of old roofing materials. Added a layer of plywood to the existing roof. Installed new roofing materials. Removed and replaced old gutters. Removed and replaced rotten fascia boards behind the gutters. Replaced some rotten bead board and dressed up an unfinished entryway.

It all went smooth from start to finish, when I thought they were going to miss something, they were already way ahead of me and they also did alittle extras here and there.
Description of Work: I would recommend this company, they are very professional and give all the information and answers to all your questions. They use only quality materials and the crews do excellent work. Their price was in the middle of the bids I took because of better materials and replacement of parts of the roof, where the others said those parts are good enough to use again.

We wanted 3 bids for our roof. Beaver Worx came out and did a thorough job of measuring and checking, just as the other two did. We knew that we had three layers of roofing to be removed and plywood needed to be installed. The other two companies showed these as added costs. (In other words, IF we had more than one layer it would be an added cost and IF we needed plywood put down it would also be an added cost.) Beaver Worx included both of these in their bid and it was still lower than either of the other two. The other two companies e-mailed their bids to us so we couldn't really ask questions as we went through them. Beaver Worx came to the house and went through it with us. We were told they were about two or three weeks out for the work to be done. Then they called a couple days later and said they could be there the next Monday. Each night they had it cleaned up around the house and covered in case of rain. They completed the job on Wednesday. They ran a magnet through the lawn to pick up stray nails, they cleaned up all messes and left an extra pack of shingles. We would use them again but with a 50 year warranty, I don't think we will need it.
Description of Work: We had a complete new roof installed.

The roofer did an excellent job. I recommend him to everybody I talk to. The price was a combination of $4700 down plus the completion was $6200. The house was built in 1971 and the flashing around the chimney had never been redone. I had a couple of re-roofs in the past and it began to develop leaks around the chimney flashing. When Beaver Worx came out, they totally took out the old flashing, got new flashing and put it in. They cemented the bricks and sealed everything. So, I have totally new flashing around the chimney, which I really needed and that impressed me. I had a lot of mildew since we have wet climate here. I had a lot of black mold inside the attic. So, what Beaver Worx did was that when they came out to give the quote, they did a calculation of the bird block and it had a 2 inch hole. They did the calculation based on the bird blocks I had and also on the end of the eaves. They said that they could increase the air flow if they installed new bird blocks since the amount of air flow was less. It also tripled the amount of air flow to the attic when they put in the new bird blocks. They were very thorough on the quote. The roofer showed me the calculations and the combination of the two which significantly increased the air flow inside the attic. It also resulted in the elimination of the black mold inside the attic. So, all this was done during the quote process. I would definitely use their services in the future too.
Description of Work: Beaver Worx LLC re-roofed my house in June of last year. They installed new flashing. They put in new bird blocks to increase the amount of air flow into the attic to fix the mildew problem. They also put in new ridge caps along the entire top of the roof.

My 20 year warranty roof, that came with my 102 year old house was 17+ years old with moss and a roof vent that had recently blown off is a windstorm. Once the financing was confirmed B***** Worx sent someone out to temporarily plug the roof hole until they could schedule the whole roofing job. The job schedule was in flux depending on weather and other jobs as you can imagine during a rainy and windy time of the year. I was at work during the 2 days that took to complete the whole job so was not able to inspect until my next day off when I would see daylight again. I was VERY impressed with the work they did and the steps they took to handle a special problem I had with my front porch. I would gladly recommend them to anyone who wants an excellent roofing job!

The crews were prompt, they cleaned up after tearing off the roof extremely well, they were courteous, and they worked very hard to get the new roof done before the rain started again! They were able to complete the job in three and a half days. We are completely satisfied.

Didn't return my subsequent phone call regarding job timing.
Description of Work: Suffered Damage to my roof (Torch down roof) - Saw Angie's list "A" rating and called them. Person coming out doing an estimate advised me a torch down roof can be a fire hazard and recommended TPO (for $1,000 more). Advised him I was looking at other estimates but in any event will likely stay with torch down. Got the other estimates and called B***** worx again to see when they could come out to do the work. My phone call wasn't returned.

I couldn't be more pleased. My first contact was with Joe Brown, B***** worx estimator, who looked over the roof, to give the estimate, and took 'core' samples to be as accurate as possible about the number of layers needing removal. He took pics and looked it over several times. The gutters had to have special treatment with the roofing material, since they are the older custom type gutters that are hidden from view under the fascia boards. Subsequently, I was contacted by the owner of the company, Fred B*****, and Steve, the foreman, to keep me updated on the scheduling of the roof work and the arrival of the skylight. We were having quite a bit of rain, but B***** worx was ready to go to work as soon as it cleared. During the process of the roofing the crew arrived on time, always knocked on the door to let us know they were about to begin and when they had finished. They were courteous, pleasant and cleaned up the debris, leaves and nails. They were well trained! A contractor working with them installed the opening skylight and finished the inside light well with drywall. Beautiful work!
Description of Work: I had an old skylight in my kitchen that would no longer close, and a twenty two year old torch down roof that was not leaking but was aging fast. B***** worx replaced the roof and the skylight.

The company was one of three I had bid on my roof. One didn't show for the proposal, and of the remaining two, B***** Worx had a superior proposal. Joe had done all of his homework to address proper ventilation, shingle type, required underlayment, the works. The proposal was typed, detailed all work to be performed, had license, bond, and insurance information, and warranty. There were three detailed e-mail references from the most recent jobs, as compared to a plain list of people from the other company. In comparison to the multi-page proposal, the other company provided a hand-written, one paragraph proposal. The work crew arrived on the promised day a little later than expected on the first two days of the job, but got right to work. Due to the amount of work to be done, it took three days to complete instead of the planned two. At all times the workers were professional with no foul language, no music, no smoking, and the foreman was always willing to answer questions. Cleanup was very thorough, though I did manage to find an errant staple or two. The end result looks great and no leaks that I've found. The rain runoff from a portion of my roof changed after correcting a poor aesthetic design, and the company was quick to add flashing to correct the issue. I am planning to have some deck work done next year, and B***** Worx is on the top of my list to bid for the project.
Description of Work: The project was a complete tear-off and re-roof of a home and detached garage. Additional attic venting was added as an old design with poor ventilation had led to condensation damage to the plywood sheathing. New vent caps and fan hoods were added to the roof. Also, a great detail of deteriorated fascia was replaced on my garage. Finally, new gutters were added to the garage to replace the old ones.

Victor and his crew got there a few minutes early and got right to work. The materials had been delivered the day before so after putting on their safety harnesses, they were on the roof and working quickly. The crew of five had the job done in under 8 hours but they weren't rushing. I was there the entire day and I could tell they were good at their craft and quite precise. Victor made sure I was completely satisfied with the roof, even going as far as to make sure which direction the worst winds came so that the direction of the ridge cap shingles faced away from the wind. He also took the time to clean the skylight glass before leaving the roof and replaced the shingles on a small shed which actually wasn't a part of the contract. Clean up was thorough and only a few small scraps of roofing paper were found after they left. None of my landscaping was damaged and the whole experience was a pleasant surprise. I would recommend this company to anyone.
Description of Work: Job was a complete roof tear off and replace with new material.
