The Chimney Specialists

Everything went well. Two professional and polite young men did the work. They explained all the work they did. They were running early so called ahead to see if I was ready for them to arrive early which I appreciated. They worked cleanly and quickly.

They came out during their appointment time and we're very quick to get to work. They cleaned and inspected the chimney after putting down protective drop cloths. It was recommended I replace the caps on my chimneys due to water getting into the caps that were original to the house. I agreed to the work and they went back and installed new caps. They also explained the cracked tile is above the roof line so it wasn't a big concern, just something to keep an eye on in case it gets worse. I was also proofed some additional information for replacement glass doors and for wood burning inserts. Fantastic customer service.

Unfortunately, I was unable to meet with the representative that came out to the house, but my mom was there visiting and she was the one who handled the business. When Jud first came out for the estimate, he made a great impression on my mom and he was very helpful and explained everything clearly so that she could follow along. She asked him questions about her concerns that came about from the other estimate, and he advised us that most of that was not necessary. He provided my mom a new quote, she was very comfortable with the price and we had them come back to do the work. Again, I was not there, but my mother was very happy with the work performed. I paid about 630.00 for this repair, when the other quote I received was 3600.00. This was a great relief financially, and the individuals we/she dealt with were wonderful! I am soo happy I used Angies List to get a second opinion!

They arrived about five minutes early -- and went straight to work laying out drop cloths to protect our flooring. As one was very carefully cleaning the chimney, the other person got on our roof to inspect the chimney. He found that the chimney cap was loose - which we believe is why there was moisture in the fireplace. He fixed it immediately and both were done within 45 minutes. We plan to use them again and will recommend without hesitation.

Went good. They were there pretty close to the scheduled time. They were courteous and cleaned up everything before they left. They made recommendations on what else needed to be done and said that they could do it or we could do it ourselves.

I got a ten percent discount. I was very pleased with the experience. They were having trouble with the gas logs and I had to call them several times to come and look at it. Their specialist came out a second time and replaced a spark igniter and I think that finally fixed the problem. It took them two calls to get the ignition thing worked out. It should have taken a little less time than me calling for a month because it finally got resolved. They came out as soon as I called them but it took them a while to get the proper guy to troubleshoot and replace the spark igniter. I was a little bothered because they weren't taking me seriously enough. They would come in and push a button and it would come on. They would leave and I would push the button and it wouldn't come on. It should have come on every time I pushed the button. It took quite a few visits because they finally got it resolved and finally decided there was something wrong with their equipment. The people were friendly and sincere but they should have gotten to the resolution sooner than they did. The chimney work was excellent but they should have gotten the igniter thing figured out a lot sooner.

Jud was very responsive. He came out, did the initial inspection, and provided a bid within 36 hours of placing the call. The gentleman that did the repair was on time. He explained exactly what he would be doing as they had to cut into some drywall. They made sure they matched the brand of venting that we already had in place. After the work was completed Jud called to ensure we were completely satisfied with the workmanship and the staff that completed the repair. We were extremely happy with the work they completed. It turned out not to be as invasive as originally expected. We would definitely hire this company again and we have also recommended them to a couple of our friends.

Guys showed up on time. Called me up to the roof several times to make sure they were doing what I wanted done. They ground out several joints and put new mortor back in. Then they sealed the chimney with a 10 yr. waterproofing product.

Excellent service - punctual, very polite and clean, took time to explain everything to me and options for repair with pros and cons. Very efficient. Actually finished at lower than their expected cost. I would absolutely use them again and strongly recommend them to anyone.

Harold was great. He came out in the time frame expected and got right to work. He pointed out a number of things for us to keep an eye on as well as those things he adjusted or fixed. Protected the area and was a delight to chat with. The price included tax. I had been using the installers of the fireplace but they charged almost $300 to come out and adjust logs and clean the glass. I decided to look around on Angies this time and found the Chimney Specialists. I called 5 places, 2 of which didn't do gas fireplaces (unclear from the Angies info) or didn't come down to my area. 2 didn't call back but Chimney Specialists called me right back.

I send email on 8/19 asking for a quote. I followed up with a phone call. To date I have not heard from anyone.

I was really pleased with them. They did a really good job. They were good with cleaning things up. They were there when they said they would be and completed on time. They explained things in detail. Their price was the best from the bids.

They were very punctual and professional. Did exactly what they said they were going to do at an excellent price. Made it very easy on me by working around my schedule. It is excellent quality and beautiful.

We did not use them. They should at least state in their website or Angies List that they charge $295 for out of their service area.

Jud Irish (V.P./ Estimator) for the Chimney Specialists came to our home and advised what work needed to be done to our existing chimneys. He was very professional, and explained everything in detail. As we are scheduled to have a new roof installed, we were hoping to have the chimney repair done prior to the roof, but we knew other clients had been previously booked. After receiving several other bids, we decided to go with the Chimney Specialists as they were going to provide more work than the other companies and at a comparable price. As it turned out, Jud contacted us a few days after we had scheduled our work to be done, informed us of a cancellation, and said he could have the job done within the next week. As promised, his men arrived, did exactly what was proposed, cleaned up all debris, and as we had hoped all work was completed before the new roof was to be installed. We would highly recommend The Chimney Specialists....

we asked for someone to give us an estimate on some brick work in our driveway. Yes, they are called 'Chimney' Specialists, but I"ve found there to be quite a bit of overlap. When I called I told them it was driveway. They said someone would come out between 1 and 4. Finally, at almost 3:30 they called to say they would be here at 4:00. Two young men, one who kept saying 'I don't know'. Did not seem very knowledgeable and certainly did not seem very interested.

They did the cleaning the first day, returned a second day to perform repairs after consulting with me. But rain forced them to return a third day since the bricks had to be dry to apply the sealant. They came each time when they said they would (actually early one day due to a cancellation so they started even before I was home). The repair costs were higher than I thought they would be, but that was due to the unknown damage. All in all, they were extremely thorough, explained everything well, and left me feeling satisfied that my chimneys will now be functioning safely and well.

He knew what should do and he pointed out exactly how we should use atove properly.

The Chimney Specialist workers came to my home and used their equipment to clean chimneys in two fireplaces one on the main floor and one in the basement. They wore covers on their shoes and used covers on the floors around the chimneys. I was impressed by how clean and careful they were. The process did not take long, they told me what they found, cleaned the chimneys, and left with no trace of dirt, soot, or soil.

I would say my experience with The chimney Specialists was okay. The technicians were nice enough, but kinda got the impression that they were talking down to me. I just didn't get a good vibe from them. They were only there for 20 minutes and it didn't seem like they really did anything, but still charged me over $100 and than tried to get me to spent hundreds more on repairs. I advised them that i'll be making repairs in about 6 months and to call me back than, but they weren't listening and the next day someone from the company called and to schedule an appointment to make repairs. This frustrated me since I told the technicians that I was ready for repairs yet, but he didn't listen to me. They did an adequate job and were neat but I didn't like the pushiness of the employees to make me spend more money.

The Chimney Specialists were outstanding to work with. They communicated clearly and did exactly what the bid on. Clean up was outstanding and they left my 93 year old chimney as good as new

They were very prompt, on time. Did an outstanding job. Would recommend them to anyone.

The Chimney Specialists perform a yearly chimney/dryer vent clean out for all condos in my complex. They are always right on time and get through the building quickly and professionally. Last year it was discovered that I had a crack in base of my fireplace. I hired the Chimney Specialists to come out on 9/8/2012 to fix it. They were right on time and got right to work sealing up the crack. It couldn't have gone much smoother.
