With over 50 years of experience in the Electrical Construction Industry, the management team at Trinity Electric has been serving Homeowners, Property Managers and Contractors in the Greater Seattle, Bellevue and Metropolitan Areas.
All in all, the job was well done and the price was reasonable compared with my other two estimates. Can be frustrating to reach Jeff, but eventually he will get back to you.

Response from Trinity Electric LLC
This was a difficult project due to the fact that the owner lived in Sequim and the residence was occupied by a renter that worked during the day making access very difficult. Initially coordination of access went through the owner to contact the renter and coordinate our work. We were finally able to call the renter directly which eased this situation. To compound this issue the City of SeaTac electrical inspection was scheduled twice and on the first attempt never got into the system despite talking directly with the intake person. The second time the inspector arbitrarily decided to come on his schedule not as set up with the tenant. During all of this inspection process the owner was out of town on vacation making contact even more difficult. These incidents made for additional contact and coordination that is not common on a normal basis. This coupled with the separation of distance between all parties we believe we did our best to coordinate and complete this project in a timely, professional and appropriate manner.

The guys from Trinity were professional and easy to work with. The job went without a hitch from the free inspection and estimate to installation and inspection. Even though there were some unforeseen needed purchases of switches and wiring, the total costs to us did not exceed the written estimate. We couldn't have asked for a better job and now that the house is properly grounded, feel safer as well. We would not hesitate to use them again in the future.

It went great. Ryan, the onsite electrician, was awesome, helpful and flexible. He was also punctual, neat and professional. He worked extra hard to prevent unnecessary exposure of wall areas and openings. Jeff, the owner, did the initial bid quote and the final invoicing matched his quote, even with a small workplan change. Very satisfied, have recommended them to 2 friends already for work (at least one used them too, happily). Will definitely be a repeat customer if necessary.
Description of Work: Complete house rewiring to code, some new outlets, one dedicated circuit for A/V, junction trunk (60Amps) to detached garage w/sub-panel, inline smoke detectors, bathroom fan and new main panel. New service masthead was also installed. House was built in 1962.

When I called and spoke with Jeff about our project, he came out and walked through the yard with me and asked me what it was we wanted to accomplish and also gave me some suggestions. Jeff was extremely professional, friendly, helpful and honest. I really appreciated all his ideas and the lights in our yard are better than I ever imagined. Ryan King actually did the entire job and Ryan was great. He showed up at the time we had agreed upon, and every day after that until the job was completed. Ryan also offered a few suggestions that worked out extremely well. He was also completely professional, and great to have around, I highly recommend this company. I would have them do work again in a heartbeat.

Jeff contacted me quickly about coming out to provide a FREE estimate. He was very friendly in person and provided a thorough estimate that evening. The estimate was reasonable and detailed, so we could see how much each mini-project would cost (and determine if we wanted to do them all). We had another electrician come out for a bid, but we never got the actual pricing from him. Instead of trying to follow up with them, I just went with Jeff because he was prompt, detailed, friendly, and clearly knew what he was doing. I requested a quick timeframe as I was having guests in town and wanted to work done prior to that - and even though he was busy with other jobs, he found a way to fit me in. That's great customer service!! The actual work was done by Dave, who was also very friendly and professional. He went to work and finished up pretty quickly. He had me review each as he finished to ensure I was satisfied with the work. He made sure the GFIs worked properly after the changes he made, as well. As it happened, we had a strange burning smell in the house the next day, I called Jeff only because they had been in the house doing work the prior afternoon - he wanted to have someone review the work to make sure there wasn't anything amiss. It was reviewed and all was fine. Turns out it was an issue with our furnace - nothing to do with electrical work done. However, the prompt response to my concerns showed what a great company this is!! We will DEFINTELY all Trinity again for any electrical work we need done. Thanks so much, Jeff!!! (and Dave)!!
Description of Work: Added 3 outlets - one in a pantry, one in the garage and one in the master bath. The pantry and garage were pretty straight forward, with other outlets readily available to source the power. The master bath was a little tricker as there was no existing power on the wall, so they had to pull from an outlet on another wall and route through the attic and down the destination wall.

This is the **second** time that I have used Trinity Electric (the first being when they were named EHS). I used them again because I was so pleased with their previous work. The same great service is still there with the new name. Jeff showed up on time to provide a free estimate, and he even suggested a shorter route for tapping into an existing power line that saved me money. The estimate was very reasonable, so I agreed to the work. Jeff emailed me a formal proposal later that day, and we scheduled the work by email. Dave, who did the previous work for me, showed up on time and was professional all the way. He did the work efficiently and fully discussed options with me, like the settings I wanted on the flood lights. He cleaned up fully after the job was done and my new lights look and work great!
Description of Work: I had Trinity add a second set of flood lights at the rear of my home for better security. This involved tapping into an existing line and running external conduit to the new fixture.

Last fall, 11/09, during the home inspection for the house my wife and I were considering buying, the 1947 electrical system was noted as safe but outdated. It had the original fuse box and 2 wire system but not knob and wire. To get an estimate for the cost for updating the electrical system, our real estate agent recommended Trinity Electric and Jeff Whetzel, then doing business as EHS Electrical. Jeff came out and provided an estimate to replace the 100 amp service fuse box with a new circuit breaker panel and other circuit improvements. The estimate was about $1900. In our negotiations with the seller we were able to adjust our offer and did buy the house. When we recently decided to have the electrical work done I called Jeff again for an updated proposal that included more work than originally bid. I also picked another local electrical contractor, chosen from Angies List, for a competing bid. We ended up choosing Trinity Electric because of the bid price and comfort level I had dealing with Jeff in the proposal phase and I felt confident that the work would be done to my satisfaction. The actual work was started the morning of 2/25/10 with Jim, the electrician assigned to our job, arriving at our home. Jim and I went through the house with the proposal to make sure he understood all of the items that Jeff and I had discussed because the work included items to be done on both the 1st and 2nd floor as well as the basement, garage (where the main panel is located) and exterior outlet installations. We chose to retain the existing 100 amp service rather than upgrade to 150 or 200 amp because we had already changed out the original electric range for gas, so that released a 40 amp circuit, the furnace is gas so the last major electric appliance is the water heater. That will also be converted to gas in the future when it needs to be replaced. Upgrading to a larger service would have cost more and since we have no plans to do any extensive remodeling or installing a major electric appliance such as a hot tub, 100 amp was deemed more than sufficient. It also meant that the existing electric meter and pole could be retained and we didn't need higher cost permits and wouldn't need Seattle City Light to do any additional wiring work. Jim started the work on the 2nd floor working his way down, getting all the wiring run within the walls. With the exception of the surface mounting on the concrete walls in the basement and garage, all wiring was pulled in the walls with no need to open any of the plaster, therefore there was no follow-up patching required. This was another reason I chose Trinity over the competitor. The other bid was not as "imaginative" in their proposal in being able to take the effort to do the installation without a lot of plaster patching, which they wouldn't do. Jim worked hard and efficiently doing all of the wiring, rewiring of switches and installation of the outlets, leaving the panel change for the last day, 3/1/10, to minimize the power out down time, which was very much appreciated. At the end of each day, Jim did a great job of cleaning up after himself before returning promptly in the morning. As the work progressed I decided to add a couple of more outlets and Jeff added them to the proposal at the right price and Jim was able to get additional work done within the original estimated time of 3 days. Jim was also very good at keeping outside doors closed to keep our 2 cats from trying to escape! On the second day of the work, Jeff dropped by just to check on how things were going and to discuss the scheduling of the Seattle City inspector. After the work was completed, the inspection was to be scheduled by Jeff for the following afternoon, 3/2/10. The Seattle City inspector's office couldn't accommodate the afternoon so it was scheduled by Jeff, on the on-line website, for 3/3/10, AM. After my wife waited all day with no appearance by the inspector, I called the inspector's office. Well, they said it hadn't been scheduled! OK, so I went ahead and scheduled it myself for the next day, 3/4/10, and then called Jeff and left a message saying that the inspection hadn't been scheduled!? Jeff promptly called back and said it appeared it was the inspector's office fault. Jeff said that he had had this situation happen in the past and that currently when he schedules inspections on-line, he then makes a printed copy of the confirmation, which he had done for my original schedule and had in his hand. Again, Jeff held up his part of the deal, just beware of inspector scheduling, whether it is the city or state! When the inspector did show up, there was absolutely no problem and it passed. I did have to call Seattle City Light to have the meter resealed, which was done, although the technician turned of the power briefly for the reseal, which seemed unnecessary. I know this a long review but I wanted to be complete because when I use Angies List, I appreciate the detailed reviews in helping me make my decision. My wife and I are extremely pleased with the work performed by Trinity Electric and have already recommended the company to our next door neighbor. Jeff and Jim were both eager to make sure the work to be performed was fully understood, and provide me with advice on many questions I had to ensure the best possible experience. BTW, even though Trinity Electric has a Snohomish address, they continue to have a facility on Stone Way in Seattle and will provide service work throughout King and Snohomish counties. I only mention this because when I looked up the original company name, EHS Electrical, on Angies List and was referred to Trinity with a Snohomish address, I thought I had the wrong company. Luckily I had remembered Jeff Whetzel's name from EHS and also saw Jeff for Trinity so I knew I had the correct company.
Description of Work: The overall work included: Updating the existing 100 amp fuse box to a 100 amp circuit breaker panel, running several new grounded circuits to all 3 levels of the house, adding new circuits and GFCI outlets for the kitchen (including converting the old 40 amp circuit for the range to multiple 110vac outlets), bathrooms, garage and exterior locations, new circuit for the washing machine, new circuits on an interior concrete wall (surface mount) in the daylight basement for flat screen TV and associated electronics and separating the front porch lights and interior hallway light to individual, already existing light switches. Duration of work to be done: 3 business days Note: This was not a full house electrical update. All of the original 2 wire circuits were fine, so to save expense we just had updates done that were deemed essential.

I got 3 bids all together for electrical work. One of the projects was to install 8 recessed lights in the coved lath and plaster ceiling of our 1929 house. One electrician said they'd have to trench the entire length of the ceiling (30'x2), another said they'd have to make at least 6 extra holes and Jeff said maybe 1 or 2 extra holes. Aside from Jeff being a great guy who gave me an honest assessment of the electrical situation of our house and having some great ideas, his approach to the ceiling was why I chose them. They came in at the middle of the bids but I think it was very fair. They sent Jim, their most seasoned electrician, to the house and he was a bit baffled at how to put the recessed lights in the living room and thought it might be really difficult (not to mention adding the light switch by the door without damaging the cove). That's when he spent about half an hour walking around the house, looking at the wiring, and poking around. If there ever was an electrical magician, he is definitely one because he was able to install the lights without ANY extra holes. I was shocked. He ended up going in from the second floor walls which had drywall and is much easier to patch than plaster. He also did a great job with all the other projects including the ceiling fan in our master bedroom which I asked him to install so that the lights would come on with the other light switches and the fan be controlled by a separate switch in another location. If there is a challenging situation, Jim can solve it no problem. Jeff has always been great to deal with, including when I had to call him because a couple of our lights went out. He sent Jim out right away. My only critique would be that Jeff isn't always the best at returning calls and setting up appointments. There were a couple of times Jim didn't show up when he wasn't supposed to due to miscommunication (on Jeff's end) which wasn't a big deal except this one time when I drove all the way to the house (it was before we actually moved in and I lived a good 45 minutes away). Jeff was very apologetic and gave me a bit of a discount on my bill. Jim also tends to leave a bit of a mess (not that bad) when he leaves. I would not hesitate to recommend Trinity and will call them to deal with any of my electrical needs. They do quality, excellent work, especially if you've got any sort of challenging situation or have a very old house. They will do the least damage to your house.
Description of Work: Installed 14 recessed lights, rewired several cable lines throughout house, installed ceiling light outlet, moved light outlet, repair frayed electrical wires, removed unnecessary lighting outlets and cables.

Jeff and his team did a fantastic job, and the final invoice was exactly as estimated.
Description of Work: This is the 2nd time that I have worked with Jeff and his crew. The first small job went so well a few months back, that I didn’t even bother investigating other electricians for my most recent job feeling very confident in Trinities work. I had a dining room chandelier installed, as well as a new ceiling lighting outlet installed in my master closet. Both of these tasks involved some very crafty problem solving to make the installations work in the desired locations.

This is a good example of how we strive to help our customers not only get the electrical work done, but get it done affordability. While we clearly want to help our customers get their projects done, we also want to make sure we are fair. Providing a cost estimate is only part of the equation. It equally important to provide sound advice that comes from years of experience.

I had originally assumed that I would need to upgrade my panel and electrical service to add the new circuits. Jeff inspected my current electrical service and said that he could install the requested dedicated circuits using my existing electrical capacity and panel. This advice alone saved me a few thousand dollars in unnecessary expense. The electrician that actually performed the work was very experienced at working within the constraints of an older house ( e.g., lathe and plaster walls). The electrician had to run the lines from the basement up to the bedrooms three floors away. The electrician was very adept at 'fishing' the new lines through the various 'chases' between the floors. The work was performed very efficiently to my complete satisfaction.
Description of Work: EHS installed two new dedicated 25 amp outlets in bedrooms on the third floor of my house.
