Description of Work: Very professional and easy to talk to. He replaced a hose bib and several feet of connected pipe. Explained the issues and challenges. He also looked at a suspected leak area and showed where galvanized straps against copper line were causing corrosion in several places. I received useful advice and a feel confident about the quality of the work completed. Would hire again!

Description of Work: AMAZING! Herb sent Paul out to do some work on my kitchen drain. He discovered quite a large problem that carried all the way into my basement. He fixed the entire system that night, staying until 10pm. i will only use Butterfield Plumbing for ALL my plumbing needs from now on...

Description of Work: (I'm not sure of the exact date of this service call.) |The joint to the inlet of the water heater was leaking. The water heater was still functioning, but the leak was growing over a couple of days. I knew that the stainless connector length from the cold water pipe to the heater inlet had to be replaced. As soon as the plumber from Butterfield's got about 6 feet from the tank he told me that the water heater was shot and it would have to be replaced. I firmly disagreed with him, and told him what I wanted him to do. He kept trying to convince me that the water heater would not work and that it needed to be replaced, until I made it very clear to him that I had zero money to put toward that expense. So he agreed to replace the connector. He brought back a copper length of connector from his truck, and I questioned why he was going to use that instead of stainless since I had galvanized plumbing and didn't want corrosion effects from the copper. He told me that was all he had in his truck, but that he would us a dielectric coupler. I agreed to that. He did a decent job, and was done in 10 minutes, not including the 5 or more minutes he tried to scare me into getting a new water heater. Now it's 10 months later and the old water heater is working just fine. When I finally do need a new water heater, I won't be getting it installed by Butterfield's. Apparently he thought a middle-aged single woman wouldn't know the difference, but I don't appreciate the con attempt.

Description of Work: When there is a dispatch fee of nearly $60, which is non-refundable, to obtain an unknown price quote that is based upon, not an hourly price, but a "per job" cost, I'm at a complete disadvantage. | |If I don't like their price, I still must pay them $59 for the quote, watch them drive away and STILL have the plumbing problem. That's not an efficient way to obtain price comparisons. Thus, I didn't use them.

Description of Work: Repair evaporate pipe and replaced a water heater part

Description of Work: Thomas at Butterfield Plumbing did an outstanding job on three different projects at my home in Dec 2012 and Jan 2013. The first was a valiant attempt to clear a backed up washing machine drain line that was causing water to backup into the garage. We eventually realized that rather than draining into the main sewer line for the house, the washing machine drain was routed into the back yard and had roots growing into it. Second was to run a new drain line from the washing machine to the main sewer line. The third project was to replace two lead portions of the sewer line under the toilets, one of which had a small leak when the toilet was flushed. For each of the above projects Thomas did an outstanding, thorough and professional job. He had creative ideas for each area and kept me informed of the work along the way. Despite some reviews I had read online that Butterfield tended to be more expensive than others, their pricing was fair and was about 50% of the quotes I received from another plumbing company. All in all an excellent job from a high quality company. I'm very happy with every aspect of the work performed, will use them again when I have plumbing needs and recommend them highly.

Description of Work: Installed gas piping from the new meter to the appliance locations.

Description of Work: Contracted Herb to rough in and install fixtures for a new powder room. This included creating new holes in flooring to run inflow Pex tubing, and effluent pipes, connecting them to the stack, and later installing the fixtures when they arrived.
