Valentine Roofing

Description of Work: We reviewed and interviewed 5 roofing companies with a group of five homeowners. Valentine Roofing is the company we chose unanimously. The new roof will be installed in August at which time I will provide an updated rating.

Description of Work: Reroof and new gutters. The basic roofing was acceptable, and lowest pricing of 3 bids. We were unhappy about 3 items: | |*When the gutters were installed, they were installed without any fascia boards at all. This meant that our rafter tails (for lack of the correct term?) are all sticking out and visible. This looks unfinished and unprofessional. When we called Valentine about this, they told us that 'they are roofers, not gutter people', even though we paid them directly for all work. They gave us a phone number for someone to talk to for the gutter work. When we spoke to them, they said the missing fascia boards would have been a roofing issue, not a gutter issue. We went back and forth twice, and finally were told that the type of gutters removed were different from the type installed, and the type installed should have additional fascia boards to achieve the same look (we weren't told anything about this during the bid). We were told that they could remove all of the gutters and reinstall at additional expense -a discount, they said, but still about $800 if memory serves- which would have put Valentines roof/gutter bid over their competitor's to install them properly. At this point, we didn't have time for further construction as we had guests already flying in for the holidays, and we weren't willing to deal with this company any further. | |*We had a missing fascia board, approximately 12 feet long. When we hired one company to do the entire roof and gutters, we expected a completely finished roof system when done. We were still minus a fascia board. When we inquired about this, we were told that it would be an extra charge. We agreed to pay again the extra fee. The fascia board was installed bare (was not primed or painted). I had the paint, they did not even ask about it. | |*Last, a small trim-type piece on the roof is coming off already, and we already have algae/moss streaks and it has only been several months.

Description of Work: Evaluated the roof and gave information about how to proceed. They were extremely helpful and professional.

Description of Work: Replaced shingles on roof and replaced attic fan.

Description of Work: They put a new TPO roof on my house and it went great. I got three bids and they were the most competitive and I felt most comfortable with them. The work was done on time, professional and quality work. I called them back for one minor issue afterwards and they quickly corrected it. I'd definitely use them again as a flat or low pitched roofing specialist.
